JK: "God, what was I thinking? Drinking like that and then sleeping on the couch like a jackass..."

(He runs a hand through his hair, the memories of the previous night slowly coming back to him.)

JK: "I remember pouring a drink...and then looking at her in bed. She looked so damn beautiful, so innocent. I wanted to touch her, to hold her, to make her mine. But I refrained. Damn it, I actually refrained."

(He bangs his head against the counter, feeling frustrated with himself.)

JK: "But why am I holding back? She my wife. She mine already. I have every right to want her, to touch her, to make her mine in every sense of the word. So why do I feel like I don't deserve her? Why do I feel like I'll only ruin her if I give in to these feelings?

He sighs, his head still throbbing from the hangover.

JK: "Maybe it's because I know I'm not good enough for her. She is so good, so pure, and I'm...well, I'm not. I'm damaged, broken, and the darkness in me wants to consume her whole. And I can't let that happen. I won't."

JK: "Mom? Are you awake?" (His voice is gentle, but there's a hint of worry in it as well.)

There's no response. Anxiety begins to grow at his gut. He knocks again, louder this time.

JK: "Mom, please answer. Are you okay in there?"

Still no response. Panic starts to take hold. He steps into the room, his eyes darting around as he searches for his mom. The bed is empty, the covers thrown back. All he can see is a note on the bedside table.

JK: "I'm fine. I've gone to the terrace. - Mom."

He reaches the door that leads to the terrace and pushes it open. The sunlight is blinding, and he has to shield his eyes as he steps outside.

He squints, his eyes adjusting to the brightness. He looks around, searching for any sign of his mom. But the terrace is empty, save for a potted plant in the corner. His heart sinks as he realizes she's not here.

JK: "Where the hell is she?!! She said she was here. She wouldn't just wander off on her own!!."(Panic begins to set in again.)Think, think. Where could she have gone? She can't have gone far. She's not strong enough to walk very far on her own."

He runs a hand through his hair, frustration and worry building up inside him. He needs to find her. He needs to find her before something bad happens.

Jungkook: MOMMM!!!?! (He scream calling her) "Dammit! Where the hell is she?! Mom! Answer me!!

Finally he sees his mom sitting in a wheelchair, a nurse pushing her around. Relief washes over him, but it's quickly replaced by frustration. He strides towards them, his face set in a stern

JK: "Mom, what the hell are you doing?!! You're supposed to rest! You shouldn't be out here, especially on your own."

His mom looks up at him, a stubborn tilt to her chin. She's clearly not sorry for what she's done.

Mom: "Oh, come on, stop fussing. I just wanted some fresh air. Is that so wrong?"

JK: "Yes, it is! You're supposed to be resting, not out here exerting yourself. You need to take it easy, remember? That's what the doctor said."

Mom: "Oh, pish posh! I feel fine, dear. I don't need to be cooped up in that room all day long. A little bit of fresh air is good for the soul, you know."

JK: "Mom, don't 'pish posh' me! You need to listen to what the doctor says. Going out in the garden might not seem like a big deal, but it's still too much for you right now. You need' to take it easy and let yourself heal."

His mom rolls her eyes, clearly not happy with his scolding. The nurse who is pushing the wheelchair looks awkward and unsure of what to do. The tension between them is thick and stifling.

JK: "Mom, please. I'm just trying to look out for you. I don't want you to overdo it and end up hurting yourself. You have to listen to the doctors. They know what's best for you."

Mom: "That's why you arranged new caretaker for me...I told you I don't like having it I threw first one and this one too.

JK: (frowned)"Mom, what are you talking about? What caretaker? I didn't arrange for a new caretaker for you." (He looks at the nurse, bewildered.)

Nurse: "Ms Jeon, there was no new caretakers arranged. I've been assigned for your care."

Mom: There is! That short girl with long hair? I caught her coming out of your room. I warned her not to wander in your room again!

His face blanches as he realizes who his mom is talking about. You. She's talking about you.

JK: "Mom, that's not a caretaker. That's... that's my...my" (He hesitates, he can't tell her truth what if it's worsen her health)

Mom: "Your what? Your what, dear?"

She looks at him expectantly, waiting for an explanation. The nurse looks even more curious.

JK: "My...my...guest. Yeah, she's a guest. She's staying with us for a while."

He tries to sound nonchalant, but there's a hint of nervousness in his voice. He can feel the nurse's gaze on him, and he knows she doesn't believe his lie.

Mom: "Guest? And why is this guest staying in your room? In your bed, of all places?"

JK: (he's drawing a blank.) "Well, uh, she's a friend. A good friend. And, uh, she needed a place to stay, so I offered my room."

Mom: son don't we have guest rooms?

JK: (feels a bead of sweat roll down his forehead.)"Uh, yeah, we do. But, uh, she wanted to stay in my room. For...for closeness reasons?"

The nurse gives him a skeptical look, clearly not buying his explanation.

Mom: kidding? (Jungkook swallows nervous laugh, feeling like he's walking on thin ice.)

JK: "Uh, yeah, kind of. But she really just... Just wanted to stay in my room. Trust me, Mom, it's nothing weird or anything."

Mom: you should not. You don't know her intentions? Knowing you are married she choose your room?! And where is Halsey she didn't came to see me?!

JK: "Mom, please. Let's not talk about Halsey. And as for the guest, I know her, okay? She's a good person. She wouldn't do anything weird or inappropriate. She respects me and my boundaries.'

Jungkook's eyes widen when he sees you standing outside his mother's room with a tray of fruits and juices. He feels a mix of relief and nervousness since he hasn't seen you since last night and isn't sure how to react. He walks over to you, his steps heavy and unsure.

JK: "Come with me..." (He pulls you into his office.)

YN: "Uh, Mr. Jeon, she caught me, so I said I’m her caretaker."

Jungkook chuckles softly, shaking his head in disbelief.

JK: "Of course she did. My mom notices everything. I'm surprised she didn’t call the police on you."

He takes the tray from you, and the touch of his fingers sends a shiver down your spine.

JK: "Thanks for bringing this. You didn’t have to. I could’ve done it myself."

YN: "It’s okay..."

Jungkook sets the tray down on a nearby table and turns to you, his gaze lingering on your face.

JK: "But you don’t need to do this. Let’s go tell her everything."

YN: (with wide eyes) "But... Mr. Jeon..."

JK: "But what, Lotus? Don’t tell me you plan to keep this up..."

YN: "I... heard the doctor say she’s too weak for any shocking news. I didn’t want to be the cause of anything worse..." (Looking down)

JK: (sighs) Aish.... girl (He hugs you) "I love you, Lotus."

LATER.

Hours pass, and Jungkook finds himself completely immersed in his work. He's not sure how much time has passed, but he's so focused on his task that he doesn't even notice the sun starting to set outside the window.

It's not until he hears a soft knock on the door that he snaps out of his work trance. He looks up, his eyes strained and watery from staring at the computer screen for so long.

JK: "Come in." (He calls out, a hint of tiredness in his voice.)

The door opens, and a nurse peaks in, a tentative smile on her face.

Nurse: "Mr Jeon, dinner is ready."

Jungkook glances at the clock on the wall, his eyes widening as he realizes how late it is. He had gotten so caught up in his work that he had lost track of time.

JK: "Oh, right. Thank you, I'll be there in a minute."

DINNING ROOM.

When Jungkook enters the dining room, he sees his mom at the head of the table already eating, with a small frown on her face. The nurse is sitting next to her, trying to make conversation.

JK: "Hey, Mom." (He sits down at the table and notices the nurse smile at him before getting up to serve his food.)

Mom: "You're late."

JK: "I know, sorry. I lost track of time."

He looks sheepish and rubs the back of his neck, knowing his mom dislikes him being late for meals. He had been busy with an important project.

JK: "Where’s YN, my friend? (trying to sound casual)

Mom: "Oh, she already ate. She said she was tired and went to bed." (She takes a bite of her food, her expression unreadable.)

JK: "She said she was tired? Really?"

He sounds doubtful because he knows you’re hardworking and finds it hard to believe you would go to bed early just from being tired.

Mom: "Yes, really. She seemed worn out. She’s been on her feet all day. Although she nearly choked me earlier today."

Jungkook is confused by this comment.

She mentioned that she had accidentally added fruit she’s allergic to, but she hadn’t eaten it yet.

Mom: "Just tell her to leave. She’s your guest, so she should know her limits!" (Her frustration was growing with every word.)

JK: "I’ll talk to her."

Jungkook felt disappointed. He had always known you to be careful, so he couldn’t understand how you made such a mistake.

JK: "I’m going to check on her." He looked at his mom, who nodded in agreement.
