HEARST HIGH β€” THE SEQUEL

CHAPTER FOUR

'HIGH-PROFILE.'

...

It was a long drive back to New Orleans but I eventually made it back around 9pm. I swung open the front door and my best friend tumbled down the stairs, throwing me into a hug.

China McClain. I had met her whilst shopping for the first time and she'd been accused of shop lifting, and she managed to randomly strike up conversation with me. I defended her and knew she was innocent and, ever  since the incident, we were best friends. After about two years, we agreed to move in together.

"How was it?" she asked as we sat on the couch.

"It was okay... you'll never believe what though."I replied. China cocked an eyebrow and gestured for me to continue. "When I was 18, I went to this college and I met a guy. He was so handsome and I literally fell in love with him, then he left for London and he confessed his love for me β€” something out of a romance movie I know."

"And?"

"And, today, I ran into his little sister and gave her a ride home from school. Then, she invited me in. Then, his father said he was back from London and I tried to leave but then this guy came in! God, it was so awkward..." I sighed.

"Wow, teen romance." I heard my other best friend's voice remark sarcastically as he entered the room. "Are you sure it was real or just a product of your imagination?" Louis smirked. Louis Partridge β€” I'd known him for a little less longer than China but she was the one who introduced me to him. He was British and his accent was incredibly alluring, as a bonus he was also extremely good looking. Louis was also funny, charming and sarcastic and managed to get all the ladies. Sometimes, he flirted with me and I wondered if he had a crush on me, but I put it down to his incredibly flirty personality.

"Nope, it was definitely real." I rolled my eyes. "I think you're jealous because you couldn't even dream of something so romantic."

"Please, I'd have nightmares about that never mind dreams." he slouched beside me on the sofa.

"Hey, leave Sadie alone. I want to hear more about this handsome stranger." China commented, leaning in closer as she became more intrigued. I then told her his name, and her jaw opened slightly. "Finn Wolfhard? Are you for real?"

"Yes..." I trailed off, feeling confused as to how she knew him. "What's with the face?"

"Girl he's like... high profile, you know that right?" she exclaimed as she fumbled for her phone. I watched as she clicked on instagram and opened up his instagram page. She wasn't lying, he had 10 million followers and I started to wonder how I hadn't even heard of his success. "Wow so you're like, in love with a celebrity!"

"I'm not in love with him... I was, but things are different now." I rolled my eyes at her remark.

"We're literally going to Hearst tomorrow, I have to meet this guy, booking us somewhere to stay right now." she frantically rushed through Trip Advisor and I attempted to explain that Finn didn't even want to see me, never mind bring my fan girl friends along.

"Seriously, China? I don't see the hype about this guy." Louis commented. "You girls can go have fun, but I'm staying here."

"No way," China waved her phone in his face and revealed she'd booked an apartment for three people, "you're coming too, Mr Partridge."

I sighed and cupped my head in my hands, this was going to be a nightmare.
