Rain and thunder clapped in the skies, as up in a creepy old clock tower, Rasputin was preparing his final attempt on the sisters life's.

"Bartok! Get me a comb, find some cologne! I want to look my best."

He grimaced to himself at his master, "That might take some work, sir."

"Then snap to it! We're going to a party." Rasputin demanded as he waved around some newspaper.

He slammed the newspaper down on the table, and the headlines explained that (Y/N) and Anastasia had been found.

"A party in Paris?" Barok questioned seeing the newspaper.

"That's right!"

The bat jumped onto the newspaper, "Ooh, I could teach you the latest dance step." He stands up straight and begins dancing as he explains, "It starts with like a whoo, and then you get really crazy with the hips, sir. It's fun!"

"We'll let the Grand Duchess (Y/N) have her moment. And then, we'll kill kill her!" Rasputin declared, and then slams his hand on the table.

Barok double takes on what he said, "Kill her? Sir, what happened to the party idea?"

"That's where I will kill her!" He laughs and grabs the newspaper, beginning to rip it up, "Crush her at the height of her glory!"

"And we're back to the crushing." Barok sighs heavily, "Sir, I'm begging you. Please, please forget the girls and get a life!"

"Oh, I'll get a life, Bartok-" He grips the 8 year old pictures of the siblings, and laughs maniacally, "Theirs!"

.....

(Y/N), Anastasia and their grandmother were sitting in Marie's room, laughing and looking at old family stuff. The sisters held a picture of their family and was looking at it intently.

"I remember now. How much we love them." The younger sister speaks up and presses her hand against the picture of their family.

Marie touches her hand gently, "They would not want us to live in the past. Not now that we have found each other." She looked in a basket and picked up a drawing.

"Oh, look here. The drawing you gave me. Remember?"

(Y/N) gasps and giggles seeing it, taking it from their grandmother, "Yes. Olga made so mad! She said it looked like a pig riding a donkey."

Marie laughs at this and Anastasia giggles at her sister, "She was right." She admits and (Y/N) playfully shoved her shoulder with hers.

Their grandmother grabbed their hands and pulled them both up from the ground, "In your laughers once again, I hear my Nicky, your dear father."

She leads them to a mirror and she opened a case to reveal two beautiful glittering crowns.

The sister share a in awe look and both gasp as Marie places them both gently on their heads, "But you girls have the beauty of your mother, Alexandra." She caresses (Y/N)'s chin, "Empress of all Russia."

Their grandmother turns them both gently to face the mirror, and (Y/N) smiles at her reflection, seeing Anastasia doing the same. They both looked like real Princesses now.

.....

(Y/N) stood in front of Sophie and a maid, as Anastasia watched already having her dress with an excited grin.

(Y/N) had just been fitted for beautiful gown. Her skirt is gold slashed with pink and has layer after layer of lovely skirts. Her sleeves are incredibly stylish, cut in intricate ways, and draped long, and a blue sash across her body offsets the piece perfectly.

She twirls around in her new outfit, the gown following the movement as Sophie grins and squeals in approval.

Anastasia comes bouncing over and wraps her sister in a bear hug, making her bubble with laugher and return the gesture.

.....

Up in Marie's office, Dimitri stood in front of her and bowed to her.

"You sent for me, Your Grace?"

She gestured to a suitcase full of money, "Ten million rubles, as promised, with my gratitude."

He looks down at the floor and shakes his head, "I accept your gratitude, your Highness. But I don't want the money."

"What do you want then?" Marie questioned with her eyebrows raised, knowingly.

Dimitri's thoughts straight away drifted to (Y/N), the one girl he's always been smitten for since childhood, "Unfortunately, nothing you can give." He admits in a sad tone and then bows to her, as he goes to walk away.

"Young man." Marie stops him in his tracks, as she walks over to him in question, "Where did you get that music box?"

Dimitri turned a little, but didn't answer and she didn't need him to, as she already knew. "You were the boy, weren't you? The servant boy, who would always check up on my dear (Y/N)."

His lips twitched up a little remembering the times where he would sneak out, and try to see (Y/N) whenever she was sick or wanted someone to talk to. Or other times where he would bring her extra food, always rewarding him with a grateful kiss on the cheek. Which had him at the time flustered and dopey.

Marie went on talking and circled him a little, "The one who got us out? You saved her life, her sister and mine. Then you restored them to me, yet you want no reward."

Dimitri closes his eyes for a second and sighs through his nose, "Not anymore." He tells her in a thick voice.

Marie smiles knowingly once more, "Why the change of mind?"

Dimitri finally turned around and faced her, "It was more a change of heart." He admits with an emotion filled face.

He never expected to find (Y/N) again, never expected to rebuild their connection again, and he never, ever expected to fall in love with her. He knew she was the only girl for him, the love of his life.

But, she deserves better than someone like him and he had to let her go now because of that, and the reality of it crushed, broke his heart into pieces.

"I must go." He bowed to her and exited to room with a heavy heart.

Marie watches the boy leave with a soft smile, knowing that this boy was indeed in love with her granddaughter (Y/N). That she changed him, from being a con men to a male hopeless in love.

.....

Dimitri made his way down the staircase and passed the sisters who were making their way up the stairs also.

(Y/N) looked up and noticed the male coming, and she sighed sadly to herself. She gave Anastasia a weak smile when she felt her squeeze her arm.

"Hello, Dimitri." The (H/C) haired girl greeted, trying to look brave when she was actually hurting.

He stopped his walking and looked at her, his breath hitching seeing her new beautiful look. "Hello." He greets back waverly.

"Did you collect your reward?" Anastasia asked a bit harshly, gripping her sisters hand for comfort as she felt her trembling.

He waves his hands up and starts to take more steps down, "My business is complete."

"Uh, young man.." A short, older butler interrupted, "You will bow and address the Princesses as 'Your highnesses.'"

(Y/N) raised her free hand up, "No, that's not necessary.."

Dimitri raises his hand up now, "Please. Your Highnesses." He bowed to them, something he would do without doubt to (Y/N). He leant back up and stared at the girl, "I'm glad you found what you were looking for."

She frowns sadly and nods her head weakly, "Yes. I'm glad you did too."

"Well, then." He starts off, feeling his heart getting heavier as he was about to let her go, forever this time. "Good-bye, your Highness." His voice drops to a pained whisper and he gives one last bow, with a longing look and walks away, not once looking back.

(Y/N) watches him leave for good this time with teary eyes, her heart clenching and a quivering bottom lip.

"Good-bye.."

.....

Vlad looked himself over in the mirror at his new fancy suit. Pooka came up next to him and looked at his reflection. He was wearing a small crown and some medals. He shook his head and tosses the crown off.

"You look fabulous!" Vlad exclaimed, making the little pup bark and jump into his arms and he places him on a small table.

"Do you mind?" He asked the dog seeing the medals on him, "No, of course not, You're a wonderful dog." He grinned and picked up medal from Pooka and placed it on his suit.

Dimitri came into the room and clears his throat, "Well, if you're ever in Saint Petersburg again, look me up."

Vlad pulled him into a hug, "Ah, my boy." He sighed and took him by the arms, "You're making a mistake." He tells him gently.

Dimitri smiles sadly, "Trust me." He removes out of the hold, and goes over towards a whining Pooka, "This is the one thing I'm doing right."

He pats the pups head softly, and kneels down to his level as Pooka nips at his hand affectionately, "So long mutt."

Pooka makes a noise, making Dimitri once again smile sadly and sigh, "I can't stay, I don't belong here."

He gets up and Pooka whines in protest as he leaves.

.....

(Y/N) peeked through the red velvet curtain at all the dance party guests, her sister behind her. Even if she knew he was gone, she still had hoped he was in there somewhere, and just maybe...she could push everything that's happened to the side, and be happy with him.

"He's not there." The voice of their grandmother was heard, the older woman coming up to the sisters.

"Oh, I know he's not-" She pauses and freezes up, acting innocent, "Who's not there, Grandmama?"

Marie joined (Y/N)'s side and pushed the curtain back, "A remarkable young man who found a music box." She tells her slyly.

(Y/N) waves her off and continues to look at the dancers, "No, he's probably too busy spending his reward money as fast as he can."

Marie gestured to the guests, "Look at them dance. You two were born into this world of glittering jewels and fine titles, but I wonder if this is what you really want." She turns back to (Y/N), placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Of course it is." She denies, removing her hand on the curtain, "I found what I was looking for." She looks to her sister, who was standing next to their grandmother with a reassuring smile, then back to Marie, "We found out who we are. We found you."

"Yes, you did find me. And you'll always have me." Marie pulls her granddaughters into an embrace, "But is it enough?" She pulls back from the hold and looks to her youngest grandchild, "My darling, he didn't take the money."

(Y/N)'s eyes go wide in shock, "He didn't?" She breathes out, feeling her heart beat faster.

"Knowing that you two are alive, seeing the woman you two have become," Their grandmother runs the back of her hand down their cheeks sofly, "Brings me joy I never thought I could feel again."

She leant forward and kissed (Y/N)'s forehead gently, pulling back and walked towards the curtain, just as Anastasia followed, "Whatever you choose, we will always have each other."
