A beautiful and elegant music box sat on a table playing soft and gentle music. Inside, stood figure's of a woman and a male dancing around as the music continued. As the lid closed, a woman picked it up and placed it in her purse before exiting the room.

She made her way down the stairs, towards outside and into a very fancy carriage that carried her down the street.

"There was a time, not very long ago, when we lived in an enchanted world of elegant palaces, and grand parties."

The carriage went through the grand, open gate, that led to a huge, beautiful Palace full of spot lights shining everywhere.

"The year as 1916. And my son, Nicholas was the Czar of Imperial Russia."

.....

Inside the Palace, a large party was currently on. There were many guests on the dance floor, and they were all dressed in fancy, elegant clothing, fitting in with the theme as they clapped to the dance.

In the very front, two young girls were dancing with their father, while their mother watched and clapped along with a big smile. The younger child with (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes waved happily to the older lady up on the stairs.

"We were celebrating the 300th anniversary of our family's rule."

The same little girl with (H/C) hair playfully stuck her tongue out, doing a silly face as she giggled when her father picked her up and spun her around. She was placed down and was tugged along by her older sister, Anastasia who smiled brightly and pulled them both up the stairs away from their parents.

"And that night, no star burned brighter than that of our sweet (Y/N). My youngest granddaughter."

The two girls rushed up the stairs, with (Y/N) handing their grandmother a drawing, as she took it with a smile and thanked her by booping her nose. Behind them, a young boy who was carrying an apple, named Dimitri was looking at them, more specifically the youngest daughter.

Anastasia noticed the little boy looking at her sister, and tapped her arm, gaining her attention away from their grandmother. (Y/N) looked over their grandmother shoulder and noticed the little boy. She knew of this boy, have spoken a few times to him and she always wanted to ask him to dance, but he would always seemed to get pulled away when she got close to him.

Their eyes met and he stumbled, standing up straight as he brushed off his clothes, trying to look presentable for the Princess. (Y/N) just giggled under her breath and gave him a warm smile.

"(Y/N) begged me to not return to Pars. So I had a very special gift made for him. To make the separation easier for both of us."

Their grandmother pulled out the small music box and held it out for the younger sister.

(Y/N) gasped seeing the music box, "For me?" She asked with big eyes, "Is it a Jewellery box?"

Suddenly a male butler spotted Dimitri looking at the princess. "Dimitri, you belong in the kitchen!" He grabbed the boy, making his apple drop that he was going to give to (Y/N), as he gets pulled away.

(Y/N) looked over again hearing the commotion and frowned seeing the boy get dragged away. She was so sure she could dance with him today, but apparently not.

"Look." The grandmother told her, bringing her attention back to her, seeing Anastasia back down with their parents dancing.

Her grandmother took a necklace she held and used it to wind up the music box. The box opened and the same dancing couple lifted up and spun in a circle while the song played.

(Y/N) smiled brightly at this and gasped once again, picking up the music box gently, "It plays our lullaby."

"You can play it at night before you and your sister go to sleep. And pretend that it's me signing." Her grandmother explained in a soft tone, brushing back some of (Y/N)'s loose hair.

"On the wind, across the sea, hear this song and remember."

(Y/N) grabbed grandmother's outstretched hand, and the older lady twirled her around.

"Soon you'll be home with me, once upon a December."

Her grandma handed the girl the necklace, "Read what it says."

(Y/N) lifted up the necklace, squinting then made a funny crossed eye expression as she read the necklace, "'Together in Paris.'" She looked up and gasped, before embracing her grandmother tightly, "Really? Oh, grandma!"

Grandma chuckled lovingly and hugged back just as tight, the two of them rocking slightly in the embrace.

All of a sudden the room went dark and gloomy, as a figure made its way across the ballroom.

"But, we would never be together in Paris. For a dark shadow had descended upon the house of Romanov's..."

All the guest gasped and backed, or moved out of the way seeing the figure coming their way. The figure was tall and tin with a long black beard and a white bat sitting on his shoulder.

"His name was Rasputin. We thought he was a holy man, but he was a fraud. Power-mad and dangerous."

(Y/N)'s and Anastasia's father approached him, "How dare you enter the Palace!"

Rasputin removed his clock hod, gesturing to himself in fake offence, "But, I am your confidant."

"Confidant?" Nicholas scoffed, shaking his head, "Ha! You are a traitor! Get out!"

"You think you can punish the great Rasputin?" He grumbled out, and lifted up a green glowing cylinder with a skull on top, that was emitting green smoke, "By the unholy powers vested in me, I banish you with a curse."

(Y/N) gasped in horror at this, the girl upstairs still with her grandmother and her older sister with her. The three of them huddle together, while Dimitri appeared again, keeping a watchful eye on the youngest princess.

"Mark my words, you and your family will die within the fortnight! I will not rest until I see the end of the Romanov line forever!" Rasputin declared loudly, and pointed to Nicholas threateningly.

He swiftly turned back around and used the device to shoot a beam of green light at the chandelier, causing it to break and fall on the floor, making all the guest screaming and shout in fear.

.....

Rasputin was down in his underground lair, brewing something in the middle of the room, in a cauldron. He threw in an ingredient and a red beam shot of of it.

"Consumed by his hatred for Nicholas and his family, Rasputin sold his soul for the power to destroy them."

His soul was sucked out of his body and he become a blue skeleton. He looked over and saw the device called a reliquary floating towards his way and he grabbed it. Once his hand made contact, his body turned back to normal, and he smirked in triumph.

"Go. Fulfil your dark purpose.." He whispered darkly as green mist of creatures appeared out of the reliquary, "And seal the fate of the Czar and his family....once and for all."

The little green figures from the device emerged more and they all flew away to fulfil their command from their master.

.....

"From that moment on, the spark of unhappiness in our country was fanned into a flame, that would soon destroy our lives forever."

An angry mob of people was gathered outside the Palace gates with torches and guns armed. The little green demons appeared on the gate's lock, and opened it, letting the mob inside. They tore down Nichola's statue and proceeded to storm the Palace.

"Hurry, children!" Nicholas urged his family.

(Y/N) and Anastasia rushed down the hall with their family, their hands holding each other tightly, when suddenly the youngest remembered something important to her.

"My music box!" She turned around, brining her older sister with her who automatically followed and they ran back to get it.

"(Y/N)! Anastasia! Come back! Come back!" Their grandmother called after them.

The girls pushed into their room, looking around for the object and finally (Y/N) grabbed the box as their grandmother entered the room.

"Girls!" She exclaimed, pushing the doors shut and rushed forward toward them, grabbing their shoulders just as a familiar boy appeared from a secret entrance.

Their grandmother ushered the girls into another direction, before Dimitri grabbed (Y/N)'s wrist, making her gasp and turn back around.

"Come this way! Out the servant's quarters!" He exclaimed, pulling her along towards it while her sister and grandmother followed quickly.

As the three were rushing in through the secret entrance, the music box fell out of (Y/N)'s hands.

"My music box!" She cried and tried to go back for it, but Dimitri stopped her and pushed her to safety.

"Go! Go!"

She shook her head with wide eyes, not wanting to leave him here. She opened her mouth to protest, but Anastasia yunked her sister away, just as Dimitri closed the door.

This being the last time the childhood friends saw each other.

Just than, soldiers busted into the same room, all armed and ready, "Where are they boy?" One of them questioned gruffly.

Dimitri threw a flower pot at them, and one soldier got behind him, hitting with the butt of the gun against his head, knocking him out with (Y/N)'s music box close to his grasp.

.....

(Y/N) was holding onto her sister and grandmothers hand, as they all ran along the snow covered ground, trying to escape.

"Grandma!"

"Keep up with me, darlings."

Rasputin was standing on a bridge just above them and jumped down behind them, tackling the youngest and grabbed her ankle.

"Rasputin!" Grandmother exclaimed, seeing the male holding onto (Y/N).

"Let me go, please!" (Y/N) pleaded, trying to kick and shuffle away, but his grip was to tight.

Anastasia and their grandmother grabbed onto her and tried to pull her away.

"You'll never escape me child! Never!" Rasputin declared and laughed evilly, pulling on the girls ankle.

Suddenly, the ice underneath him began to crack and he began to sink into the water, making panic noises.

"Let my sister go!" Anastasia yelled angrily and grunted, pulling (Y/N) up, just as the girl kicked Rasputin in the face, making him release her. He tried to crawl his way out of the water, but it was no use and he sank to the bottom.

.....

The train whistled, just as (Y/N), Anastasia and their grandmother were running to catch it as it was slowly pulling out of the station.

"Childer, hurry! Hurry!"

They ran towards the train and the people at the back helped the sisters grandmother on, while the girls ran hand in hand, trying to catch up.

"Grandmama!" (Y/N) called, trying to reach for her as Anastasia tried pushing her little sister more in front, trying to get her on board.

"Here, take my hand!" She tells them and extends her hands out to them, making the sisters grab them, "Hold onto my hand!"

"Don't let go!"

Unfortunately, their hands slipped from their grandmothers grasp, as (Y/N) screams and the two fell backwards. Anastasia tried to protect her sister's head as they fell, but it didn't do much as the two crashed onto the train platform, hitting their heads onto the ground.

"No! (Y/N)! Anastasia!"

She tried to jump off the train to get to her granddaughters, but the passengers stopped her. So, she watched as her family became further and further away from her.

"So many lives were destroyed that night. But all that had been was gone forever. And my (Y/N) and Anastasia, my beloved grandchildren, I never saw them again...."
