Tomomi has nerves of steel. Or titanium. But today, it was a different narrative. Today, the sun was out, the birds were chirping and the air felt nice. It was a beautiful saturday morning. Most of the students in 1-A had stayed in the dorms for the weekend, while some went home.
And all day, Tomomi had been a walking ice berg around the dormitory. Not that anyone else was complaining, it was a hot day.
Kirishima, dressed in nothing but a white tank top and grey sweatpants, walked out of the elevator, scratching the back of his flattened hair. He made his way to the kitchen for a bottle of water when he heard mumbling from his left ear.
He paused his drinking to see who it was that was mumbling very fast. Also, it had gotten gradually colder the closer the mumbling got.
Suddenly, in came Tomomi, dressed in a pretty yellow sundress and white strappy wedges. the front part of her hair was tied back with a yellow ribbon and she was fiddling with her matching yellow Chanel purse. She was also wearing her signature pearl earrings and necklace.
But she looked troubled. Like she was trying to remain calm but failed, miserably. So much so that she didn't even noticed Kirishima or the fact that it was snowing inside of the kitchen.
Kirishima grinned softly at her, twisting the cap back on his water bottle. He has to admit. Tomomi was seriously one adorable individual. He could see why Bakugou loved making her shy.
She's so cute He chuckled in his mind as he watched her sit at the kitchen island.
"Oh!" Tomomi looked up from fiddling with her long white nails. She blushed when she noticed that Kirishima saw her nearly have a melt down. "Kiri-chan! I did not know you were in here."
"Am I really that easy to look past?" He joked, sitting across from her. "You look troubled, Avalanche. Anything you wanna talk about?"
Tomomi sighed, giggling a little at his joke. She leaned her chin on her dainty hand, tapping her nails on the surface with her other hand. "Today, I am supposed to meet Katsuki-chan's parents and.....I'm feeling a bit timorous."
"I'm gonna pretend I know what the word timorous means and offer my help." Kirishima chuckled out. It was very confusing to talk to her whenever she used words not many people used.
The only other people that could keep up with her and her big words were Midoriya, Tokoyami, Momo, Bakugou and Iida.
"I mean I'm nervous." She clarified.
"Why?"
"I don't want to make a bad impression on them." She explained, folding her hands together. "He's my first ever relationship and I know I was the one who agreed to meet them but....I guess I was in over my head and now, I don't want to embarass myself in front of them....What if they think I'm not worthy enough for their son?"
Kirishima was nearly shocked to hear that she was insecure about something like this. She was the whole package! She was the only one of them that Bakugou will listen to and she was the only one that can keep him in line when he got too big headed.
She's smart, kind and way too beautiful for anyone of them, to be honest. He had no doubt that Bakugou's parents will love her.
They would probably love her even more once they found out how much he has began to change because of her.
"I've never been in a relationship before so I can't really say I have experience in this type of thing." He said honestly. "But I can say that they will love you."
Tomomi looked at him a little sheepishly. "You really think so?"
"Yeah!" Kirishima confirmed. "Any girl that has the balls to knock Bakugou over the head for being too loud or too abrasive is a keeper, in my eyes. He wouldn't be with you if you were anything but, right?"
Tomomi smiled a little at her red headed friend. She really loved that Kirishima seemed to know what to say at the right time whenever someone needed to be cheered up.
"So don't worry too much, Avalanche." Kirishima said, standing back up and opening his water bottle again. "Trust me when I say this. They'll love you. Especially when they see how much Bakubro has changed because of you."
Tomomi was about to ask him about that but suddenly, Bakugou walked into the kitchen, dressed nicely and ready to go.
"Frostbite, there you are." He said, spotting his girlfriend sitting at the kitchen island. "You ready? We got to go! The car is here!"
Tomomi gave Kirishima an appreciative smile before standing up. "Thank you, Kiri-chan."
Kirishima leaned against the sink, giving her a thumbs up. He watched as the couple hurried out.
"Damn, I'm good." he mumbled to himself, drinking from his waterbottle.
"Frostbite, will you calm down?" Bakugou chuckled softly as Tomomi could not stop fiddling with her dress. "You haven't been this nervous since our first date."
Today was Masaru Bakugou's ( Katsuki's father ) birthday and Mitsuki wanted to take the family out for an early birthday dinner. While later on in the evening, the married couple would celebrate privately.
Mitsuki called her son to remind him of the event and, at the last minute, asked him to invite his girlfriend. Well, more like she demanded him to bring along Tomomi. And Tomomi thought it was a good idea, at the time.
Now, Tomomi couldn't stop being fidgety as they got closer to the diner his parents wanted to go to.
It was Masaru's favorite diner in the city and he hadn't had the time to go back to it due to his big promotion at work. So Mitsuki made reservations for him.
Well, really, she rented an entire section for her family so that they could have privacy when they met their son's girlfriend. She was not a fan of crowded places and nosy people.
Bakugou stopped walking just as they stood right outside the entrance. He gave her hand a light squeeze and a reassuring grin. "Baby, you have nothing to worry about, okay? I promise, the old man and old hag will love you."
Tomomi nearly deadpanned when he said that. But she decided to let it go for today. She was too nervous to worry about what he called his parents. Besides, he was so cute when he acted soft.
"Okay." She said, taking a deep breath. "I'll take your word for it."
"That's my girl." Bakugou mumbled, giving her a quick kiss on her lips before they made their way into the resturaunt.
Okay.....you can do this.... was all she kept thinking as they made it inside.
"Hey, old man and old hag." Bakugou greeted his parents rather roughly as soon as they made it to their table.
"If it wasn't for the fact that it's your father's birthday, I would have blasted your ass to the moon right now." Mitsuki said, already irritated with him.
"Ah, shut it, old hag." Bakugou rolled his eyes at her. "I'm here, aren't I?"
Tomomi sweatdropped. She could definitely see where he got his tough and aggressive personality from. But looking at Mitsuki, she felt even more nervous and insecure.
This woman was beautiful! She didn't even look like she could be his mother! More like an older sister! She really looked beautiful in that red long sleeved sundress.
In fact, her Bakugou looked a lot like his mother. Same good looks and aggression.
"Oh~! Is that who I think it is?!" Mitsuki suddenly brought Tomomi back to reality.
She blushed as Mitsuki practically shoved her son away from her and beamed at her happily. Tomomi stiffened when she came face to face with her.
To Mitsuki, her son had excellent taste in girls if this was the girl he fell for. She was always worried that his harshness and abrasive personality would stop him from ever experiencing love but, imagine her shock and happiness when he told her that he had a girlfriedn now.
And boy, did he pull a full 10! Tomomi was absolutely stunning! She didn't know her son was able to snatch a girl like her up like this! She felt like a very proud mother in that moment.
"Hello, sweetie! The name's Mitsuki Bakugou~" She introduced herself, pulling Tomomi into a big hug.
The hug caught her off guard but she was relieved that she liked her, already. Suddenly, she wasn't so nervous, anymore.
Once the hyper woman pulled back, Tomomi smiled politely at her. "It is so nice to meet you, Mrs. Bakugou." She said formally, bowing respectfully. "A-And Mr. Bakugou."
"And she's respectful~!" Mitsuki gushed, placing her hand on her heart. She could literally cry. She already liked Tomomi. "Honey, she's perfect~"
"I would like to meet her, as well." Masaru chuckled out, standing next to his wife. He gave Tomomi a kind smile. "It's nice to finally meet you, Tomomi. Our Katsuki could not stop talking about you whenever he would visit home."
"And we just had to meet the girl that tamed our short tempered son." Mitsuki added.
"I'M NOT SHORT TEMPERED!" Bakugou yelled at them, earning a swift smack on the back of the head from his own girlfriend.
"Don't yell, Katsuki-chan." She scolded him, calmly. "We use inside voices inside of an establishment."
Bakugou grumbled something about her needing to stop doing that but he made not further argument and just listened to her. Which shocked his parents completely.
Did their son actually listen to someone else other than them?!
If they didn't like her before, they loved her now! She was perfect for him!
"So you have to tell us how this happened!" Mitsuki asked after they ordered drinks.
For the first 30 minutes, Mitsuki used the oppurtunity to tell Tomomi rather cute and embarrassing things about their son.
From the things he did as a baby to his cute playdates with Midoriya, she told her everything. Much to Bakugou's chagrin.
And while he was practically steaming through his ears in anger and embarrassment, Tomomi loved listening to everything she said. She tried to picture little Bakugou in a All Might onsie. She needed a picture of that so she could draw it in her manga.
She was for sure going to archive this into her manga.
"How did you two meet?" Masaru asked. "Well, we know you two are classmates but, how did you two began interacting with each other?"
"Well, Katsuki-chan and I didn't really like each other in the beginning." She explained. "In fact, if it wasnt' for our first project, I'm not even sure if we would ever date."
"Oooh, you're the blue eyed, infuriatingly pretty girl he was talking abou-"
"Shut up!" Bakugou said through his teeth, angrily as his face grew hot. He didn't want her knowing what he really thought about her when they were doing the project together. "She doesn't need to know that!"
"Oh, please. She's your girlfriend! She has a right to know." Mitsuki dismissed him. "He could not stop thinking about you. I swear, his mind was made up of you, working out and going to bed early."
"You really put a spell on our son." Masaru agreed, ruffling his son's hair a bit. "He's changed a lot, because of you."
Tomomi felt warm inside as she looked at Bakugou, who was looking elsewhere. Too embarrassed to look at her.
She smiled softly at him. She had no idea that he really felt this deeply for her. It made her love him even more. Tomomi also didn't know she really changed him like that.
But she didn't want to take all of the credit. Bakugou learned how to be a better person on his own, as well. She could see that and she loved him for that. People were starting to see him how she sees him. For the good person he really is, behind his titanium walls.
"I think he learned a lot on the way, by himself." She humbly replied, looking back at his parents. "I guess I see a lot more to him than most people do."
"And that is all that we want for him." Mitsuki added. "But I can tell you had a lot to do with that."
"T-Thank you," Tomomi stuttered out, smiling a little.
"Now, before the cake arrives," Mitsuki said, clapping her hands together. "Let me show you all of the cute photos of our Katsuki during his kindergarten play! His kindergarten class were doing a production of the musical Grease and it's the most adorable thing in the world!"
"MOM, NO!" Bakugou yelled, whipping his head around to give her a petrified look.
But he was ignored when Mitsuki pulled out a small stack of photos from her purse. "See? He was playing Danny Zuko~"
"MOM!" Bakugou yelled again, trying to stop her from looking at the photos. Why would she even have them in her purse, anyways?!
It was too late as he watched in horror as his own girlfriend and his mom began looking through the photos together. He knew he was NEVER gonna live this down.
"Look how cute he was in his little leather jacket~" Mitsuki cooed, reminiscing a bit. "His father made the jackets for the class. In fact, he even designed the costumes for the play. It was such a pain to get his hair to be tamed, though."
Tomomi looked and couldn't help but giggle at her boyfriend. He was so adorable to her. His hair was styled like the character in the musical and he had little sunglasses on his baby face.
There was even a photo of him and Midoriya, who was dressed identically. They were sitting on tiny motorcyles with the other classmates, who were playing the rest of the T-Birds.
"Oh yes, Izuku was apart of the play~" Mitsuki said, suddenly remembering the photo.
"They looked so adorable." Tomomi cooed, looking through the photos.
"Here, I even have photos of him dressed as Peter Pan." Mitsuki said, digging into her purse again. "It was during halloween when he was only 4 years old. Izuku was one of the lost boys."
"May I have a copy?"
"TOMOMI, NO!" Bakugou yelled again, wanting to die as his parents laughed along.
"Sure, honey! I've made plenty of copies."
"Oh god!" Bakugou slammed his head onto the table, dying of embarrassment.
Maybe this was a bad idea, after all.
After a while, the sun began to get lower in the sky and the night was coming. They sung Masaru his happy birthday song and ate the nicely decorated cake the resturaunt made for him. It had sparklers and everything.
Mitsuki wanted a photo of the moment so she made one of the employees take a picture of them with her phone. She wanted to keep this moment forever and, someday, get the photo developed.
Just before they left, Masaru and Katsuki talked while Mitsuki and Tomomi continued on their conversation about her son and how he was during class.
"She's a keeper." He commented, stuffing his hands in his pants pocket. "Very special girl...beautiful, too."
"Yeah...Don't I know that?" Katsuki sighed, mimicking his movement.
Masaru knew that tone of voice. Katsuki, though he would never admit it, was filled with self doubt. He often didn't feel deseving to certain things. Despite the fact that he was always praised for everything he did.
He could tell he was still questioning rather he deserved a girl like Tomomi.
"Son, I'm going to leave you with this." He said, gathering his attention. "Tomomi is the type of girl men like us only comes across once in a lifetime. Consider yourself lucky, she loves you a lot......Don't doubt rather you are good enough for her. Just know that you have a diamond in your hands....And us Bakugous aren't losers and I didn't raise a loser."
Katsuki looked at his dad with softened eyes. A very tiny smirk grazed his face as he thought about what he said. He was right. Bakugous aren't losers. And he was not about to lose Tomomi, ever.
"Thanks, old man." He said, sincerely.
Masaru smiled and ruffled his hair again. "Just looking out for you, son."
It was safe to say that his parents could wholeheartedly agree on one thing. Tomomi Todoroki is what Katsuki needed in his life. And they couldn't have approved of her anymore than they already did.
