You watched as the two Hargreeves men with Elliott and Lila checked out the footage projecting, that Five asked for Elliott to develop hours ago, on the projection screen. You glanced at Nico who was still in disbelief of what happened to the door moments ago. Elliott was tied into his chair, his mouth gagged, his legs were tied too that made you feel bad. Lila was polishing the old man's toenails with green nail polish while Five was focused on the screen and Diego was looking bored.

"Do you really have to tie him?" You asked sadly to Five, referring to Elliott who's trying to get out from the ropes.

"It's either that or him shooting us." Five responded with a glance.

"Why are we watching this?" Diego asked Five.

"Shush." Five replied with an annoyed tone that Diego seemed to take as an offense. "Okay, when (Y/n) asked you answered with even a glance and a softer tone while I get the cold shoulder?"

"Jealous?" Lila snickered.

"I am not jealous."

"Shut it, both of you." Five hissed in annoyance. Lila snickered softly before glancing at you, her smile slowly disappearing. 'Hmm...'

"Yeah, I... I'm Dan Frankel. And..." The old man from the footage introduced.

"I'm Edna Frankel." The old woman, presumably the old man's wife, introduced behind the camera. "We are in Dallas, Texas, to see the president."

Diego's head looked up from the old couple mentioning the president. The old couple continued to talk. "Today's date is November 22, 1963."

Your eyes widened and so did Nico's. "That's six days from now." Nico deducted as he turned to Five. "What the hell?" Lila looked up from her work too as she got interested.

"Holy shit. This is it." Diego softly gasped.

"This what is?" You asked confusingly.

"The grassy knoll." Diego described. "Kennedy's about to get shot."

Nico's jaw dropped. "Get what?!"

Diego turned to Five. "How do you have this?"

"Hazel died to get me this footage." Five explained as he glanced at Diego. "It must be the key to stopping doomsday."

You stood up from your seat, pulling Nico away from the others earning a glance from Five. You checked on Nico who has his hand placed on his forehead. "Hey..." You softly called out. "You alright?"

"Uhh... seeing you busting that door open with no pushing and then this-this footage from six days from now that's telling Kennedy will be dead, how can I not be okay? This is all too much, (Y/n)."

"Hey, I understand, okay? I don't even get them and what's happening but soon there will be answers. We'll understand everything soon." You comforted Nico with a hug causing the young man to chuckle. "Sometimes, I forget that you're just a teenager and younger than me. You talk like my mom or something."

Then you both heard a gunshot from the footage. You and Nico returned to the group when Five rewound the tape and then paused it. He brought the projector farther away from the screen to zoom on whatever the two Hargreeves boys saw. You looked closer to see an old man with black attire, a black hat, and a black umbrella. You also saw a monocle with him. "This can't be," Diego muttered softly.

"Okay, you gonna fill me in now, boys?" Lila asked, clearly clueless about what's happening. "What the hell is this shit we're watching."

"No, that's impossible," Diego muttered again as he and Five got closer to the screen. Five rolled his eyes. "Clearly, it's not."

"What... What is it?" Elliott managed to ask out but muffled.

"Dad." Five and Diego said in unison.

Your eyes widened as flashes of images appeared right before your eyes as you hear some voices in your head.

"You're a danger to the world."

You stepped closer and are now standing beside Five and Diego.

"He kidnapped me..."

Unknowingly to you, your clenched fists formed visible red mist-like shapes around them. Lila was the first one to notice and has to poke Nico's arm. "Is that normal?" She whispered to the young man.

"Frozen..."

Five looked down at your fists and then to your eyes as you stared at Reginald Hargreeves' face on the screen. If looks could kill, the screen would've been burnt from your intense glare with red glowing eyes that you didn't even notice.

"(Y/n)?" Five asked, facing at you. Diego heard his brother's call to you so he looked at you as well to see what was happening. "Hey." Five tapped your shoulder and your glare and red glowing eyes disappeared as well as the mist-like shapes around your fists.

Your fists loosened up as you looked at Diego then to Five. "S-Sorry. What happened?"

"Your hands..." The voice behind you said which belongs to Nico. "Th-They were... glowing..."

You looked down at your hands then to the face of the man who raised you. "Does... uh... this old man have a name?"

"Reginald," Diego responded. "Reginald Hargreeves. The biggest asshole. Our Dad."

You stumbled back, almost falling down on the ground. Diego sighed while Five scratched the back of his head as he walked around the room in stress. "Of course Dad would be involved in the assassination. I should've known."

Five shook his head, pointing his finger up to Diego. "No, you're jumping to conclusions."

"My real father's an old mean-looking man." You whispered to yourself. "But I remember my dad being a kind and young one. What the hell's happening."

Diego walked toward Five, pointing angrily at the screen. "What else is he doing standing on the grassy knoll, holding an open black umbrella on a sunny day in Dallas the exact same moment the president gets shot?"

"Our Dad's old." You whispered again as you sat down on the ground. "If you say we should be in 2019, what the hell is he doing here in the 1960s?"

"It doesn't look good, I admit." Five replied with a calmer tone.

"No, he's the signalman for the whole goddamn thing," Diego argued.

"Easy, Diego. Seriously."

"Maybe he's an alien." You continued to whisper but Lila heard it loud and clear causing her to cackle, earning looks from everyone including Elliott and Nico. Lila shut her mouth close and scratched the side of her head as she cleared her throat.

"No, it makes sense." Diego softly gasped. "This is what Hazel was obviously trying to tell you. We have to stop Dad from killing the president."

"Diego, calm down, all right? Dad was no Boy Scout, but presidential assassination? It's never been his thing." Five explained.

"How would you know?" Diego questioned. "You skipped out on his golden years."

You looked up to Five who raised his eyebrows, his look on Diego was in pure surprise and disbelief at what he just said. "Skipped out?" Five scoffed. "You think I had it easy, Diego? I was alone for twenty-five years."

'Twenty-five years?' You thought as a sudden but familiar heartache came. You brought up your hand, clutching it on your shirt as you felt pain inside your chest. 'Alone. Twenty-five years. It hurts. Why? And if he's alone for twenty-five years, how come he looks so young?'

Five shook his head at Diego. "You know what? We don't have the time for this right now. Dad's clearly in Dallas, right? Let's just go talk to him. Maybe he can help us fix the timeline."

"Dallas is a big place." Diego pointed out.

"And how would you know if he wants to talk with you?" You asked. "We need to find him first."

"Uhh... 'we'?" Nico asked. "You're not telling me you're coming with them?"

You stood up as Five and Diego continued to talk and looking down on a book of addresses. "Nico, these people claim to be my real family, not the people that my brain kept showing. These memories that I remember are clearly fake and I want to know the truth. I want to remember my real memories. Maybe this Reginald Hargreeves can help me too."

Nico sighed as he looked at Five who was glancing at you both. Nico nodded. "Alright, fine. Just... be careful."

"Found the address," Diego announced. "You coming, (Y/n)?"

You looked back at Nico who just nodded. You smiled at him before nodding at Diego. "Yeah. I think it's time for me to get out of this building more often." You walked between Five and Diego as Diego pulled up the projection screen. You heard the faint grunts and muffles, suddenly remembering Elliott's still tied up. "Is he okay to leave here like that?" Diego asked.

"Yeah, he's fine." Five answered casually.

"Uh, no he's not." You turned back and waved at Nico. "Hey, Nico! Can you untie Elliott?"

"I'm on it," Nico replied back as you can already see him untying Elliott.

"Can you make sure Elliott doesn't do anything stupid?" Five requested earning a glare from Elliott and a frown from Nico. "Now y'all just taking advantage of me being like your little errand boy."

Five smiled at him before turning to Diego. "Hey, what about the girl?" Diego paused for a moment before looking back. "Shit." Diego went after Lila while Five sighed. You and Five decided to seat back on the couch as you wait for Diego. "So, you're saying that you don't remember how you got here?" Five asked.

You looked up at him before shaking your head. "Just woke up on the same alleyway where you and your siblings arrived. Did you bring me here?"

"I didn't. (Y/n)... we thought you were dead." No words came out of your mouth as you just stared at him in disbelief. Five sighed and looked down at his shoes. "Luther was blaming himself and felt guilty. I almost killed the guy."

You raised an eyebrow at him. 'Luther? Who's that?' You asked but just in your thoughts. "What did he do?"

Five was silent, hesitating if he should tell you or not. "You, uh, lost control so he had to do something."

"Something?"

"Yeah, he did something awful to you."

"Now that's mean and probably abuse andβ€”"

"Yeah, well, Luther's a big dumb monkey jock." Five said as he cut your sentence off. You managed to laugh a bit and didn't even know why. 'Monkey?' You chuckled mentally. "So, uh, your name is a number. Why?"

"What?"

"I mean, our siblings have real names like Diego, Luther, or that girl, uh, Allison, was it?" Five nodded. "Yeah, them. They have real names. What about you? Just Five?"

"We all have our names as numbers." Five explained. "I'm Number Five, Diego's Number Two, and you're Number Eight."

"A number isn't a name, (Y/n)."

You frowned. "Now that's sad. If your siblings have other names which are really real names, why is yours just... Five?"

"Everyone has names... well, you know, except for me."

Five looked down before softly chuckling. "I, uh, didn't participate when Mom was giving everyone names. Your name was already given to you by your own mother but Dad changed it and made Number Eight your real name. It's a long story."

"You all forgot what name that Mom gave me... and unfortunately, I also forgot it... now I'll just be called by my number."

"What if... you call me by my number?" You suggested with a smile. Five's smile dropped as he looked up at you instantly. "What?"

"But it's fine. I didn't want to participate in that anyway. It's stupid. The name she gave me was probably stupid as well. I likeβ€”"

"How about... you call me by my number?"

"Well, I can't let you feel left out. If you don't have another name, then just call me at my number. That seems fair."

"So you won't feel left out. We'll get to call each other by our numbers."

"Why would you even botherβ€”"

"Come on, at least we can get closer by doing this." You frowned. "I really want to remember, Five. And I can't just do that without bringing our closure back with, well you know, our siblings. Are we real siblings by the way? We don't really look like each other."

"We were adopted. We're not related to blood. (Y/n)β€”"

"I don't know a (Y/n). Call me Eight." You smirked. "You can still call me (Y/n) whenever you feel like it."

The boy nodded. "Fine. Then let's feel left out together." Five softly smile and that smile, that damn smile, almost made you want to melt right into this couch. Who knew Five Hargreeves has the cutest smile you've ever seen.

"That's the plan."

"If you feel left out, then I'll be with you. Let's feel left out together."

You stared at him, your smile never leaving your face. He does the same to you. "What?"

"Nothing." You said. "It's just that... for a guy like you... it's like it's been a while since you've ever smiled so sincerely."

"You too. You smile a lot but there'd always... pain behind it."

"What made me hurt so much?"

Five hesitated at first before sighing. "I'll tell you everything soon, okay?"
