Sir Reginald Hargreeves, an eccentric billionaire and our "lovely" father, has adopted 8 children in his home and called us the Umbrella Academy.

Hm? What? You heard this already? Fine. Let's start at the very beginning. One. Last. Time.

So...

Way back, who knows when, Sir Reginald—fucking—Hargreeves released a bunch of yellow glitter particles, also known as the marigold, into the world. The marigold made a bunch of women give birth to 43 super-powered babies at the same hour and on the same day.

The seven luckiest... were adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves.

You might be wondering why I stated only seven. I was welcomed to the academy later than the other members, making me the eighth member. Reggie wanted to adopt another child for his own selfish needs—that is, research and experimentation-even though he only needed seven.

We were referred to as the Umbrella Academy by Reginald. We were such failures as superheroes that we were unable to save Ben from the Jennifer Incident. Allison and the rest of the family even quote ourselves as saying that we are "not very good at being superheroes."

It was a tragic accident. He died because we failed as a team.

I won't go into depth regarding everyone's powers and backstories after leaving the academy because I think you are all familiar with them by now. I will, however, provide a quick recap for those of you who still require it.

Luther has super strength and went to the moon.
Diego has trajectory manipulation and tries to become a vigilante.
Allison has voice reality manipulation and lost her family after rumoring her daughter causing her ex-husband to file for divorce.
Klaus can summon ghosts and immortality and spends his years with drugs, alcohol, and partying.
Five has teleportation and time travel and has been stuck in an apocalyptic future for 25 years. He also transformed back into his 16-year-old body.
Ben can summon tentacles from his stomach.
Viktor has sound manipulation, but he didn't know he had powers and lived his whole life thinking he was just ordinary.
I have telekinesis, but I gained more powers because Reggie froze me and tried to take my powers away. He failed miserably, and my body transformed back into a 15-year-old.

After dear ol' Reggie dies, we, the Umbrella Academy, try to prevent doomsday. And we fail... miserably. And as I said before, Viktor caused the apocalypse in 2019. And in his defense, he never knew he had powers until the end was near.

The others traveled back in time using Five's time travel in an attempt to save themselves and the world and were scattered across the '60s while I traveled back to the '60s with the help of Lila Pitts.

For what reason? She did not have the heart to give me the quick and easy road to death, even though she had been given the order to kill me. I was left to die alone by her instead. Well, that backfired since my grandfather's younger self saved me and we both lived under the roof of Elliott Gussman. The Umbrella Academy lived different lives separately.

Viktor was living on a farm with no memories.
Allison married Raymond Chestnut.

Diego met Lila in an asylum.
Klaus started an alternative spiritual communi-let's face it, it's a cult.
Ben was with Klaus the whole time.
Luther worked for Jack Ruby.
I was living with Papa Nico and Elliott with fake memories.
And Five arrived ten days before the doomsday.

Oh, right. There's another doomsday. Guess, who did it?

Ding, ding, ding! Viktor did. Shocker. I still love you, bro.

Oh, and we met Reggie in the '60s. That was some family meeting. Definitely not our best moment.

Anyway, Viktor was saved before he ended the world! Ben saved him and sacrificed himself in the process...

We succeeded, but we went back to Sissy's farm to help Harlan when he gained powers from Viktor. However, the Commission arrived and Five's previous employer, The Handler, was there along with her adopted daughter, Lila. Oh, and also, Lila has powers. We fought the Commission, and Lila showcased her powers... mimicry.

After we prevented doomsday in the '60s, we went back to 2019. I knew something was wrong, and we eventually saw Sir Reginald Hargreeves being alive. And we have a new Ben.

Mean Ben. So aggressive for no reason.

Turns out, Reggie adopted a whole bunch of different kids—well now adults. They called themselves the "Sparrow Academy." Moreover, I discovered that Jeanie Wu, my helpless roommate from the original timeline, is now Jeanie Hargreeves. It seems that after Reginald adopted her, experiments were conducted on her to give her powers. Number Eights are his favorite lab rats.

Well, shit, right? Oh, that's not the worst part!

Sparrows are the least of our worries because Doomsday Part 3 is on its way! To everyone's disappointment, we caused a paradox that could end the entire universe. It also killed 6 out of 8 of the Sparrows. I also sought out my grandfather, Nico Russell, in the third timeline, whom I promised back in 1963 that I would meet again. Sadly, he passed away before we could have our little reunion.

Anyway, back to my family. We each had our little side story during all of the chaos.

Luther fell in love with a Sparrow named Sloane, a real cutie and hottie, by the way.
Diego apparently has an alleged son with Lila. Spoiler alert: the kid is not Diego's nor Lila's, and he died.
Allison grieved for her daughter and husband and became an asshat for the rest of our stay in that timeline.
Klaus wanted to know where his biological mother was.
Five planned to retire.
I gained more powers because of Jeanie.
And Viktor finally came out to us and became more open in the process. Except for keeping the information about Harlan, the kid that Viktor used to babysit in the 60s, who killed our mothers.

By the way, Five and Lila traveled back to the Commission to find any solutions to save the world for the third time, only to discover that Five was the Founder of the Commission.

So, after exhausting all of our options, Reginald says that there's still a way for us to save the world. Allison decided to trust him to get her Claire and Ray back. Because of her actions, Reggie resolved his obstacles to murder town by killing Klaus and Luther to set his plans in motion.

I'm so happy she did that to claim her family back. Can you guys see how happy I am?

You can't? Good, because I'm furious.

After we entered Hotel Oblivion, which is in another dimension, Reginald needed to extract the marigold from all of us. Well, except for me and Allison. Allison was asked to stay behind by Reggie while I seemingly died after I saved my family a bunch of times.

Oh, and I killed Sir Reginald Hargreeves. Killing that alien bastard gave me adrenaline afterward. Oh, yeah, Reg's an alien.

Following that altercation, the Umbrella Academy found themselves brought into a reset timeline in which Ali and Reggie achieved their goals. Allison was reconciled with Claire and Ray, and Reginald was reunited with his alien wife. The others were forced to part ways since they were left bewildered and powerless.

Me? I was saved by Reggie and his wife. He didn't create a new (Y/n) in this world; instead, he coded back in the Hotel Oblivion to take me to the reset timeline. I think you all last saw me unconscious and in a coma.

Fun fact! This recap was made almost two years ago :'D

Don't be confused as to why it was written as "fraught || five hargreaves x reader" because there was a typo and I hadn't edited that out until now.
