Sunlight flowed through the leaves above, bright streams igniting every gap. Four silhouettes are walking on the horizon side-by-side. After a long week of completing a mission, they need some rest.

"I can't wait to take a warm bath and eat some dumplings."

Tenten yawns and stretches her arms.

"I can't wait to see our friends! I'll tell them all about the mission." Lee spoke with enthusiasm. He is always sharing stories about his experiences. Sometimes they're extreme, and sometimes they're straight-up bizarre.

Neji stayed silent because he was too exhausted to utter a word. He didn't sleep well the other night because, after a nice barbeque party, Lee overate and passed out and snored like a lion all night. But as much as he tolerates his sensei's and friend's antics, he would lose his mind.

The Hyuga closes his opal eyes and takes a deep breath to ease the nerves. He listens to the calming sounds of nature, from birds chirping in a sweet melody to the light whistling wind. Shortly, he also felt some kind of negative energy miles away.

Neji still kept his eyes closed and tried to navigate the dark aura. He concentrates, but his heart begins to beat rapidly, and he reopens his eyes. Neji starts to sprint his legs because he knows she is in danger.

Guy, Tenten, and Lee become baffled and follow the Hyuga boy.

"Neji! Slow down!" Lee calls out for his friend. Neji knows something isn't right. He has his Byakugan activated, trying to read which directions lead to Konoha. Guy frowns, "Oi! Neji! What's wrong?!" He tries communicating with his student.

"Sakura needs help!" Neji shouted, and his mind was racing.

Even though they are not together physically, he can sense her miles away.

"Are you sure?!" His teacher questioned because it was out of the blue. Neji replies, "Yes! It's not only her but everyone in the Hidden Leaf!" He meant it word for word.

Now that caught their attention.

Guy, Tenten, and Lee all watched him running in front of them with concerned faces. Before, Neji doesn't express his emotions that well. A lot changed when he fell in love with Sakura. However, it's not only her that he worries about; everyone else is at risk.

As soon as they arrived, their stomachs dropped. Neji is correct about the news. Their village is no longer standing.

"What the hell happened here?" Guy spoke angrily. Tenten couldn't form words, and the same goes for Lee, except he is close to releasing his rage. Neji gritted his teeth and tried to find the survivors with his Byakugan.

Tenten recalls, "We weren't out from Konoha for that long." She turns her head to look at Guy. The man shakes his head, "No. Tsunade-sama would've notified us. I believe that it happened in one day." He stated openly. Guy then asked Neji if he had found anyone alive. The Hyuga looks carefully. That's when he saw two strong chakra signatures in a pit of land.

Sasuke's and Pain's chakras are more noticeable from a far distance.

Neji tells the group, "I found Sasuke. It seems like he is fighting an enemy."

Everyone simultaneously moves their heads and looks at him in shock. "Where?!" Lee asked in a desperate voice. Neji beckons his hand to point at the pit in a muted response. Guy shifts his gaze and squints to see where it is underneath the dirt and broken buildings. He can sense it as well. "Follow me." The Jonin demanded as they obeyed.

The people witnessed an enthralling fight. Sasuke and Pain are two different levels of shinobi, but that doesn't mean they'll show mercy to each other. Sasuke has agility and strength, while Pain has intelligence and body control. Sasuke has been using his Susanoo, and it feels exhilarating. His Sharingan upgraded as a weapon.

All of a sudden, the sound of guts getting stabbed echoed.

"Damn you." Sasuke groans because Pain punctured a rod in the abdomen. He performed Chidori, but his opponent was quick enough to disperse the jutsu. The boy looked at his hands caked with blood, and his Susanoo was still activated.

Sasuke learns that Pain is not human. It's impossible for a human to still be alive after multiple hits and brutal attacks. But his eyes are what capture him. Sasuke has never seen Rinnegan in his life.

Naruto looks at him with a look of agitation. "Please, Sasuke. You've done enough." He can predict that his friend's body is going to shut down.

The Uchiha rebukes, "Do I look like the type to give up, Naruto?" His bloody lips smirk.

He pants heavily to regain composure. Pain watches in satisfaction of the suffering. Sasuke keeps telling himself mentally that he should not back down. He wants to be a savior. The boy watches Pain coming towards him like a predator intimidating its prey. Pain starts talking, "You are like your brother. A person who thought saving someone would be worth anything. But he knew that he was supposed to die for them." His haunting voice tells the brutal truth. Sasuke glares at him with fiery eyes. Itachi didn't want to fight his brother because he knew, after all, that there were more dangers in the world.

Suddenly, a collision happens.

Pain swiftly jumps back when he spots a tint of dark blue in the dust.

Sasuke's eyes widened, "What are you doing here, Hinata?" He asked in bewilderment.

"You should listen to Naruto-kun." Her soft, angelic voice speaks to him. Hinata turns around to face him. Sasuke groans, "Please don't tell me you are fighting Pain." He gives her a look of disbelief. Instead, she giggles, "As a lover, I should be protecting him despite the rules." Hinata rebels like Sasuke—he wasn't expecting to have something in common with the shy girl.

Sasuke does his best to stand straight, but Hinata helps him. She wraps her arm around his back to put his right arm over her shoulders. "Are you okay?" Hinata asked him. He pauses for a few seconds because he can see why she is doing this. Similar to how he and Misa vowed to protect each other.

"Alright. Can I trust you on this?" Sasuke is still skeptical. The female Hyuga grins, "Of course." She answers in short yet so confident. She then takes him back to the group.

When arriving back, Misa gasps at the state he is in right now. He is beaten up and has a damn rod in his stomach. Itachi didn't hesitate to move forward and had him rest on the ground. "You are one crazy person," Misa says, stepping closer to him. She bends down to heal his wounds and removes the item. Sasuke chuckles dryly, "You still love me, though." He doesn't seem to care if he gets hurt or not.

The Akiyama shows him a furious look while his brother sighs in displeasure.

Sasuke grunts when the rod gets taken out of his stomach. He slowly raises his hand to cup Misa's cheek. Their eyes meet, and they communicate with each other in silence. Misa still has a frown on her face, but on the inside, she is relieved.

He calms down by the warmth of the chakra healing from her palms. It's comforting, and his wound is better in a few minutes.

No matter how many times he tells himself, Sasuke will always feel lucky to be with Misa.

"Oi! Everyone!"

A male voice calls out for the people to hear him.

Sakura is the first to veer herself to see who or what it is. Her green eyes widened, "Guy sensei!" She yelled and alerted the people around her. Then her eyes moved to see a beautiful man.

She began tearing up when Neji quickly came and brought her into a big bear hug.

"Are you okay?" The young man asked in a gentle voice close to her ear. The pink-haired kunoichi sniffled, "Not really, but I will be." She smiled through her crying. Sakura held onto Neji as if he was going to let her go.

She felt his lips pressed at her temple. "Whatever you're thinking right now is not happening." Neji wants to convince Sakura that he will risk it all to be with her.

Sasuke and Misa watched the moment; they were happy that Sakura had someone to love and care for as a soulmate.

Unexpectedly, Misa overhears the sound of the wind. Well, it wasn't the wind. She shifts her head to witness Hinata floating mid-air and collapsing with a thud. Her jaw drops, and ruby eyes land on Pain. He is beating her mercilessly.

But that didn't stop Hinata.

She clenched her two hands into fists, and blue chakra ignited. The chakra formed into Twin Lions. As a retaliation, Hinata lunges at Pain to get to Naruto. She distracts him and tries taking out the rod off of her lover's leg. She nearly got more, but Pain wasn't going to allow it. He uses the same technique and hits Hinata.

In her mind, she will keep fighting.

Despite the bruises, blood oozing, and limping, she will set her lover free.

Hinata crawls toward Naruto while Pain watches as a pathetic show. He mocks her by saying she will die if she continues to save Naruto. Hinata ignored all of it. She wants to be with the one who is special to her.

Her shaky hands grip the rod that stabbed Naruto's hands. "I stand by what I say. Because that's my Ninja Way." She recites the words that motivate her everyday life. Naruto lifts his head, and his blue gaze meets her pearl-like one. Hinata moves her lips, "I love you, Naruto-kun." She spoke softly with a grin.

In a blink of an eye, Pain ends it by perishing his enemy's lover.

Naruto begins to see red. He doesn't know anymore.

Can hate and anger create triumph?

The boy loses it by putting all of his rages out. He summons the Kyuubi powers.

An explosion erupts and surprises the people. Misa shields Sasuke close to her chest and her arms around him. She slowly raises her head to see what is going on.

It felt like deja-vu. Misa becomes afraid when Naruto releases his Four-Tails.

"What is that?" Sasuke questions the unrecognizable presence.

Misa was a bit shocked that he didn't know who it was. She answers, "Naruto. He has transformed parts of Kyuubi. If he keeps going, he will most likely kill everyone." Now that wasn't pleasant to hear.

Sasuke pulls himself together by standing up. "How can we stop him? It looks impossible." He is running out of ideas because he has never seen Naruto's upgraded form of his Nine-Tailed fox. Misa pursues her lips—Sasuke is not going to like it.

She tells the raven, "If Yamato taichou makes it here on time, I'll help him. He is the one that can seal away the Kyuubi. If not, then I have to do it." The last part alerts Sasuke. He gives her a look that she is being absurd. Before he could say anything, Misa shut him up. "It's the only way to save Naruto and all of us. I've done it before when our team fought against Orochimaru." She reasoned and left Sasuke in silence.

He ponders if this is a good idea. The young Uchiha takes a look at his friend, who doesn't look like the hyperactive knucklehead anymore. Sasuke sighs, "Judging by the looks of the situation," he pauses to look straight into Misa's eyes, "I can't believe I am saying this, but go ahead." Sasuke can trust her, and he shouldn't be doubting his determined angel.

Misa draws a big smile on her face and hugs him. She presses her face into his chest. "I'll bring back Naruto." The girl claims a promise.

Sasuke holds her in his arms. "I need more of that loud-mouth Uzumaki in my life." He jokes but is telling the truth.

"So, this is the power of the Nine-Tailed fox."

Pain has never felt fascinated to see the remarkable sight of Kurama. Naruto is showing his hate while the rogue is enjoying it. Pain is proud to finally reach his goal.

Just then, he senses another energy coming by. The man looks to his left, and nothing. He also looks to his right and sees nothing again. What the hell is going on?

"It's over, Pain."

He hears the sound of a female's voice from behind. He lets out a grunt in agony when a fist punches his back. It wasn't an ordinary punch because he gets sent ten feet away from Naruto. Pain growls and tries to register who or what hit him.

The Akatsuki leader stood back on his feet. Before he could attack back, an uppercut strikes him. Pain groans loudly, "You annoying little girl!" He slides a rod under his sleeve.

Misa smirks, and she performs a jutsu. A horde of flower petals makes a dome to trap him in a Genjutsu. "No more blood-shedding. No more of your destruction. And most importantly, no more of you." Her voice echoes in his ear.

Pain's frustration increases; he hates when a pest gets in his way. The man has enough of other people's contradictions that he breaks the illusion. He roars like a fierce lion and watches the flower petal disappear by using his usual technique.

The kunoichi goes over to Hinata and checks her pulse on the neck. Misa becomes relieved when she felt it. She knew that her friend is one tough girl. As a demand, Misa hollers Neji's name to take his cousin and have Sakura heal Hinata. It's now her turn to fight. Misa takes a deep breath, "I hope you can hear my voice, Naruto." She begins walking to the Jinchuriki.

Double Rinnegan detects a small figure close to the Jinchuriki. Both Pain and Misa saw Naruto unleash the eighth stage of Kyuubi.

Misa quickly uses her jutsu like last time. She gathers as much chakra in the petal as to keep Naruto from going feral. She gritted her teeth because he was thrashing like a ferocious beast, which he is, at the moment. However, Pain starts coming in her direction.

The girl panics because she has to focus on Naruto. She closes her eyes and prays. Please, someone, help me.

Luckily, someone did answer her prayers.

"Misa! Don't let Naruto escape!"

She opens her eyes and spots Yamato entering the pit. He stands behind her, "I'll do my best to not let the enemy disrupt and help you get Naruto back. Understand?" Her captain instructed.

"Yes, taichou." Misa obeyed.

She concentrates on her energy like how Tsunade taught her. She also hopes her master is resting well because she is in a coma after expending her chakra to the villagers.

Misa even thought about Kakashi and her family. Her sensei is watching from above with his father. Akemi, Reiko, and Koichi wish to see her again. She needs to make it out alive from this battle.
