Amara's outfit:
Chapter Eighty-Nine
β‘Memory Foundβ‘
"The tunnel gate's locked. Everything is locked." Amara said as she ran into the bunker and Scott closed and locked the door behind him. "Think it'll hold them off?" Malia asked as she and Lydia walked up to them. "Probably not." Scott said and Lydia shook her head, "Definitely not." She said.
"You guys aren't hoping I'm gonna be the optimist, are you?" Malia asked and Amara shook her head, "Hales are never optimistic." She said before they walked over to the ice box. "So, how cold does this thing get?" Scott asked as he walked up to it, "Cold enough for a Hellhound. It's not the same thing as the ice bath you guys gave Isaac, but it can lower your core temperature past anything a human can survive." Lydia explained.
"So, what does freezing our asses off have to do with our memories?" Malia asked, looking at Lydia crazy, "It'll slow your heart rate and put you in a trance-like state." Lydia said and Amara nodded slowly. "Like hypnosis." She said and Lydia nodded, "Hypnotic regression. If we can figure out how to work it." She said and Malia glanced around.
"This says start. So, maybe it's not that complicated." Malia said, pointing at a button on the side while Scott looked at the other side where a bunch of knobs and dials where. "...It's complicated."
"So, optimistically, how much time do you think we need to do this?" Malia asked and Amara looked over at her, "As much time as Liam and Stilinski can buy us." She said.

Malia pressed the start button and the box came to life. "Okay. It's doing something." Malia said and they nodded, "Whose going first?" Amara asked. "I'll go." Malia said making them look at her, "Are you sure? I can go." Scott asked and Malia nodded. "I'm sure." She said before taking her shirt off. She looked at them before slowly walking into the box and closing the door. She looked at them through the small window and nodded making Lydia lock it.
"Remember, this will get cold enough to kill you. So, if something feels wrong, or, like it's not working..." Lydia trailed off and Malia just nodded, "It's going to work." Scott said and Lydia looked at him and raised her eyebrows. "I hope you're not saying that because you think I know what I'm doing." She said and Amara nodded slightly, "I know you can figure it out."
Lydia sighed softly and nodded before turning all the dials making cold air blow into the box. "So, what are we supposed to do? Talk to her? Help her remember?" Scott asked looking over at Lydia.
"We need to guide her, keep her focused." Lydia said before looking over at Malia, "Malia, you have to think about them. Concentrate on Stiles. Try to picture him in your head. Think about what he looks like, things he's said." She said and Malia nodded. All of the sudden the machine made a noise and started beeping making them look around alarmed.
"I don't like this. Something's wrong." Amara asked and Lydia shook her head slightly, "Wait. Give it a few more seconds." She said. Malia groans slightly before slamming her hand down on the window, "I'm getting her out of there." Scott said and went to grab one of the handles but Lydia grabbed his arm.
"Wait!" She said when she saw Malia relaxing, "Malia... Can you hear me?" She asked calmly and Malia looked up with blue eyes. She didn't say anything for a few seconds before her eyes started fluttering, "Malia, don't fall asleep. You have to keep your eyes open." She said.
"I'm trying..." She mumbled and Lydia sigh softly, "It's not sleep. I think you're losing consciousness... And, if you do that, I think we're gonna lose you." Lydia said and Malia didn't say anything as her eyes kelt fluttering. "Malia, stay awake! Malia!" Scott yelled.
They watched worriedly as Malia seemed to be in a trance. "Malia, try to find them." Lydia said as Malia glanced around the box but it was obvious he was seeing something else. "Try to find them in your memories." Lydia said calmly, "Find them in any memory! Good or bad!" She said and she frantically glanced around.
"What's happening to her?" Amara asked worriedly and Lydia shook her head, "I don't know." She said. "She doesn't look good. She looks...Lost." Amara said and Lydia nodded and sighed, "Because she is. I think it's too much information. Like she's getting buried under all the memories, being overloaded by them." She explained and Scott looked over at her.
"So what do we do to help her?"
"Malia? Malia, do you hear me? You have to try to focus!" Lydia yelled as she lightly tapped on the window. "You hear that?" Scott asked after a few minutes as he walked over to the door, "Thunder?" Lydia asked as Amara listened for a moment. "Maybe." She said and Lydia sighed, "This isn't working." She said looking over at Malia who now had her hands to her ears.
"Then we have to figure something else out." Scott said as he walked back over, "I know. I know." Lydia said. "Is she gonna freeze to death in there?" Amara asked and Lydia sighed, "If her memories don't kill her first." She said.
"There has to be another way to do this... isn't there?" Scott asked and Lydia shrugged anxiously, "I don't know! This is my first attempt at trying to open a dimensional rift in space-time, so I'm kind of fumbling around in the dark, okay?" She said.
"I'm getting her out." Amara said and Lydia grabbed her arm, "Wait-" She said making them look at her. "What?" Amara asked, "I'm not the only one fumbling around in the dark." Lydia said and Scott just looked at her confused. "What does that mean?"
"We have to treat this more like actual hypnosis. They use images to guide you through memories. Like a stairwell- the steps take you down through one year of your life to the next. That's how they regress you back. So, she needs to imagine something." Lydia explained. "What do we tell her?" Scott asked and Lydia looked back at Malia.
"Malia? Can you hear me?" She asked calmly. "Malia, listen... Imagine you're in the library. There's book all around the place " Lydia said calmly and waited a moment. "Can you see yourself there? Are you in the library now?" She asked, "I'm here. I'm in the library." Malia said, calm now.
"Can you see the books?"
"I see them." Malia said and Lydia glanced at Scott for a second before looking back at Malia. "Concentrate on them. The books on the shelves are your memories- everything that's ever happened to you. Find the shelf that has all your memories of Stiles. Try to find a memory where you made some kind of connection with him." She said calmly. "Did you find something?" Lydia asked, "I definitely connected." Malia said making Amara furrow her brows for a moment.
"Malia?" Lydia asked when she noticed Malia had closed her eyes, "Malia, open your eyes." Amara said. "Malia, can you hear us?" Lydia asked but Malia didn't make a move or sound. "Open your eyes Malia." Scott said and then all of the sudden Malia's eyes shot open and her hand pressed on the window.
"She's freezing to death. We need to get her out." Lydia said before quickly unlocking it and opening the door. Malia instantly fell out and sucked in a deep breath before looking around. "Why'd you bring me out?" She asked, "You were gonna freeze to death." Amara said and Scott nodded.
"We had to." He said and Malia sighed, "Nothing happened, did it? It didn't work." She asked as Scott helped her up and they all glanced at each other. "I dont think it was enough." Amara said and Malia turned back to the box, "I'm going back in." She said and went to walk back into it but Amara grabbed her sister's arm.
"No, you're not!" She said making Malia turn to her, "It was working. Something happened, I could feel it." She said and Lydia nodded and stepped forward. "Nothing more is going to happen if you kill yourself." She said before handing Malia a blanket. Malia sighed softly before walking over to sit on a chair.
Amara stared at the ice box before taking her shirt off, "I'm going in." He said before going to step forward but Lydia grabbed her hand. "It's to dangerous." She said and Amara sighed and shook her head, "Not as dangerous as doing nothing. I can handle it, better than Malia." She said making Lydia look at her worriedly.
"I'll be fine." Amara said, squeezing Lydia's hand making Lydia sigh softly before letting her go. "If you start to freeze..." Lydia trailed off slightly and Amara nodded, "Then you get me out." Amara said. She quickly kissed Lydia before pulling the door open and stepping in and letting them close the door.
Amara nodded that them making Scott turn the dial and Amara took a deep breath, closing her eyes as cold air blew into the box. "Can you hear me?" Lydia asked and Amara nodded, "Imagine you're sitting in a classroom. There's a TV at the front of the room, and a remote in front of you. Every channel is a memory if Stiles. All you have to do change a channel."
Amara slowly grabbed the remote sitting on her desk before taking a deep breath and pressing a button. A static noise started playing making her look up at the TV before a memory started playing.
** "I don't know what it was. I mean I felt like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball. And that's not the only weird thing. I mean I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. And I can smell things." Scott said as Stiles and Amara followed behind him. The three were in the woods the boys were the previous night, looking for the inhaler Scott dropped.
"Smell things? Like what?" Stiles asked, "Like the mint mojito gum in your pocket." Scott asked making Stiles look at him confused, digging into his pocket, "I don't have any-" Stiles started to say before cutting himself off as he pulled out a pice of gum.
"So all this started with the bite?" Amara asked, neither of them noticing the lack of shock or wonder in her voice. "What if it's an infection? What if my body is flooding with adrenaline before I fall into shock? I knew I should have gone to the ER." Scott said panickly.
"I've actually heard of this. It's a specific kind of infection." Stiles said making Amara look at him with a cocked eyebrow while Scott looked at him with panic, "Are you serious?" Scott asked. "I think it's called... Lycanthropy." Stiles asked making Amara nervously chuckle while Scott's eyes widen.
"What's that? Is it bad? It sounds bad." Scott said nervously and Amara decided to play along, "Oh yeah, It is. But only once a month." She said making Scott look at her. "Once a month?" Scott said sounding both nervous and confused, "On the night of a full moon." Stiles said and then both him and Amara howled making Scott catch on and push Stiles. "You're an ass." Scott said making Stiles and Amara laugh. **
The memory stopped and Amara smiled softly before hearing Lydia's voice. "Keep looking. Don't stop until you find the right memory." Lydia said making Amara press another button.
** Pulling up in front of Eichen House, Amara ans Scott instantly took off their helmets and got off their bikes, before rushing over to where Scott and his father stood. "Why didn't you tell us?" Scott asked, "Because we wanted to avoid something like this."
"It's only seventy-two hours." Stiles said and Amara shook her head, "Seventy-two hours too long. Stiles, this is the same place where Barrow came from. You realize that right?" She said and Stiles sighed softly and look away. "You don't know everything yet." Scott said looking over at Stilinski. "I know enough. Nogitsunes, Kitsunes, Oni, or whatever they're called..." Stilinski said making Stiles look at him in surprise and impressed, "Wow, that was actually all surprisingly correct."
"Guys, I saw an MRI that looked exact exactly like my wife's... and it terrifies me. I'm headed down to LA tomorrow to talk to a specialist." Stilinski said making them look at him confused, "Then why are you putting him here?" Amara asked.
"He's not. It's my decision." Stiles said making them look over at him, "Stiles, we can't help you if you're in here..." Scott said and Stiles shook his head. "And I can't hurt you." He said looking back and forth between them making Amara sigh softly.. "Stiles, that wasn't you. Deaton's got some ideas... Argent's calling people... We're going to find something. And, if we can't-" Amara said but Stiles cut her off.
"If you can't...If you can't, then you have to do something for me, okay? Make sure I never get out." Stiles said before walking away. **
"Hey, look." Malia said making Lydia and Scott look at Amara as her nose started bleeding slightly, "What's wrong with her?" Malia asked and Lydia sighed, "She's focusing to much on a memory." Lydia said before stepping forward slightly. "Amara, don't get caught on a single memory. You need to find the right memory. The one that brings it all back."
Amara took a deep breath and quickly pressed another button on the remote making another memory play.
**"Amara, I'm going with you guys." Stiles said, grabbing his jacket as Amara stood in his doorway, "I thought you said you were sick." She said and he pursed his lips. "I'm slightly under the weather..." He said and she raised her eyebrows, not believing him for a second.
"You don't have to come. Malia's not going, either." Amara said and he looked at her crazy, "Malia's not going because she knows that place is a nightmare asylum of insanity and death, okay? Let's go." He said as he put his jacket on and winced slightly making her squint at him. "What was that?"
"What was what?"
"You winced."
"I have a bad elbow." He said and she raised her eyebrows, "It was your shoulder." She said. "Pain radiates. It does that." He said and went to walk out the door but she moved in front of him making him sigh. "Amara, you guys are not going without me. You remember what happened to Deaton when he talked to Valack?"
"So?" She asked while shrugging making him squint at her, "So, I'm not letting you go to a place where one of the orderlies almost killed you and Lydia." He said making her scoff and look at him crazy. "They did almost killed you twice." She said and he shrugged.
"And we're all still alive. See? Teamwork." He said before going to walk past her again but she moved in front of him again making him sigh. "What's going on?" She asked making him look at her, "Nothing." He said and she raised her eyebrows. "I can smell the blood on your shoulder. Talk to me." She said before gently pushing him back towards his bed making him sigh and sit down as she sat down next to him.
"I did something and I think I might lose people because of it." He mumbled and she looked at him worriedly, "You know I wont judge you, right?" She asked and he sighed and nodded. "I know..." He said in a slight whisper and she nodded, "So what happened?" She asked.
"I killed someone..." He whispered and she nodded slightly, "Who?" She asked. "Donovan." He said and she raised her eyebrows, "You mean the guy who said he was going to stab your father to death?" She asked and he nodded and she looked at him confused. "What happened?" Amara asked and Stiles sighed softly, "He bit my shoulder with some mouth on his hand so I hit him with a wrench and ran off into the library... At some point I started climbing the scaffolding to get away from him but he followed me and said he was gonna eat me so I pulled this pin and a bunch of scaffolding fell and one went right through him." Stiles explained and Amara nodded slightly.
"Okay, I dont see the problem here." She said and he sighed, "The problem is that I killed someone, Amara!" He said. "In self-defense! Donovan, a Chimera, attacked you, a human, and you acted in self-defense. You wouldn't have been able to hold him off until you got to call someone and for that someone to come. You did what you had to do to survive. There's nothing wrong with that." She said and he sighed softly.
"Scott's not gonna think of it like that." He mumbled and she rolled her eyes, "If Scott tries to pull the 'we shouldn't kill someone' line or treats you any differently, I will kick him out. I can do that, I was the first Alpha." She said and he looked at her with a small smile. "Thanks Amara." He said and she smiled and patted his leg, "Just remember, if you were a Werewolf... Your eyes wouldn't be blue."**
"She's been in there too long." Lydia said instantly went to get the door open but Malia grabbed her arm. "Guys, look! Something's happening." She said making them follow her line of sight to see a bright green light shine through the greats as the room shook slightly.
Amara's eyes glossed over slightly as she slowly stood up and walked towards the TV. Everything was slowly starting to come back to her before she pressed another button.
** Stiles fumbles with his keys in an attempt to start the engine so they can leave. But, when Stiles puts the keys in the ignition, he looks up and sees that the Wild Hunt has surrounded the Jeep, causing him to hesitate with turning the key in the ignition making Amara look at him with worry and incredulity.
"What are you doing? We need to go!"
Stiles hesitates for a moment and pulls the key out of the ignition before looking at Amara with a defeated expression, "There's no time." Stiles said and Amara shook her head, "Stiles if you didn't put that god damn key back in the ignition and fucking drive, I swear to god I will-" Amara said but Stiles cut her off.
"Amara, I'm going to be erased, okay? Just like Alex. You're gonna forget me." He said and she shook her head, "I'm not gonna just forget you like that." She said and Stiles just sighed and shook his head.
"Amara, you will. You all will. Just try to find some way to remember me, okay? Remember how we were each other's first kiss back when we were like thirteen and you were trying to make sure you're gay." Stiles said making her cringe and shake her head, "We made a deal never to talk about that." She said and he chuckled.
"Then remember that we're Star Wars buddies." Stiles said and Amara glanced away from him as she took a deep breath, her eyes tearing up. "That's all you have to do. You need to remember me and get the others to remember me. Just remember that you're my sister." He said making her look at him as a tear fell down her face
Before she could say anything, the Ghost Riders yank the door to the Jeep open and pull Stiles out as Amara's eyes widen and she tries to grab him but was too late.**
Amara gasped slightly as she fell out of the box making Scott and Lydia catch her. "I remember everything." Amara said in a slight whisper as she sat down on the ground while Malia grabbed a blanket. "I- I was the last person to see him before he got taken..." Amara said as Lydia
