Amara's outfit:

Chapter Eighty-Three
Sundowning

"Stile: an arrangement of steps that allows people but not animals, to climb over a fence." Scott reads out loud as he, Amara and Lydia sat in the library in front of a laptop. "Yeah, somehow I don't think this is the "Stiles" we're looking for." Lydia said and Amara nodded in agreement.

"Maybe Malia has found something." Scott suggested and Amara shook her head, "No. She's been taking a make-up test all morning." She said. Almost the second she said that a coyote howl sounded throughout the school making everyone look up while Amara just sighed and closed her eyes for a moment.

"I guess that means the test isn't going well." Amara said and they all looked at each other before getting up and walking out the library. Scott and Amara instantly make a beeline for the basement while Lydia went to check on her mom real quick.

They run down into the basement and finds Malia in coyote form growling at them from the corner of the room. "Malia, it's okay. You're safe." Scott says calmly but Malia kept growling as Lydia, Natalie, Makena and Stilinski walk in. "I'm not gonna hurt you." Scott said calmly again and Malia let out a couple more growls, "I think she's is calming down." Scott said and Amara just looked at him with raised eyebrows as Malia snapped at him.

Stilinski on the other hand looks a little scared of Malia's growling, "Maybe you should growl back?" He suggested. Malia growls one more time making Natalie and Stilinski jump a bit while Sheriff looks at Scott desperately, "Scott, you're the Alpha. Can you just make her a little more docile?" Stilinski asked but Amara sighed and shook her head.

"She's not the problem. We are. This is her territory and we're invading it. We just need to get out of here." Amara said and Malia starts barking as Scott nods in agreement, "Yes. C'mon." He said and the five of them moved off to the side.

"Malia came here to get to the full moons. Then we got to the lake house." Lydia said making Natalie look at her confused. "I thought you said a wild animal got in the lake house." She asked and Lydia looks at her mother exasperatedly, "Just be happy for the things I don't tell you." She said and Amara nodded slightly.

They turn their attentions to Malia walking as she slowly transforms back into her human form. Stilinski quickly looked away while Natalie looks slightly shock while the others dont even look bothered. "It's alright. I'm okay." Malia said and Natalie sighs in relief and walks over to give Malia her clothes back while Makena looked at Scott, Amara and Lydia questioningly.

"Got any idea on what made her shift?" Makena asked and they all sighed, "She's under a lot of pressure." Scott said and Amara nodded. "School, her life after graduation." She said, "Her mom trying to kill her." Lydia added making Amara nod while Scott looked at them.

"That shouldn't make her shift... Could it be connected to Stiles?" Scott asked as he turned to the girls making Amara sigh softly, "Hard to tell since we don't know what a 'Stiles' is." She said and before Scott or Lydia could say anything Stilinski speaks up. "It's a he." He said making them look at him in both shock and confusion, "Who?" Scott asked.

"Stiles. It's a family nickname. I never used it, but... my father did."

Amara, Lydia, Scott and Stilinski are seated in the living room as Claudia arrives and hands her husband a box. "Thanks, honey." Stilinski said and Claudia hummed as she sat down next to her husband before he starts explaining about his father's life.

"He was an army engineer." He said as he takes out a photo of his father and hands it to Scott, "He ended the war, one bridge at a time." Stilinski said and Scott looked up at him. "He went by Stiles." Scott said as he glanced at the girls.

"So what's this got to do with the Wild Hint?" Stilinki asked and Scott looked over at Lydia and Amara making Amara sigh, "We think that somebody was taken from us." She said. "Any idea who?" Stilinski asked and Scott slightly shook his head, "The Ghost Riders would have erased our memories."

"Well. That's convenient."

"We found a clue." Lydia said making them look over at her, "The word "stiles"." Amara said and Claudia sighed slightly. "And that's why you wanna talk to Elias?" She asked and they nodded, "Maybe he could help us figure it out. Maybe he knows who we're looking for." Scott said.

"Now this is someone your age?" Stilinski asked and Scott nodded, "Yeah, I... I think he was our friend. Maybe he was our best friend." Scott said, looking at Amara who nodded but Stilinski doesn't look just as hopeful as the teenagers. "I guarantee my father can't help you." Stilinski sighed and stood up whole Scott handed him the photo back.

"Can we try?"

"Scott, he lives in a nursing house three towns over. He hasn't received visits for years." Stilinski said making Amara sigh looking at the ground. Lydia glanced at her but paused slightly when she saw elderly woman walking through the living room. Lydia glanced over at everyone else only to notice that she was the only person seeing her.

The women stops and turns towards Lydia before speaking, "The following stops have been canceled." She said and Lydia started hearing the sound of a train again. "The following stops have been canceled." The woman said again before she starts walking down the hall and Lydia turned to Claudia and Stilinski.

"Can I use your bathroom?" She asked and Claudia nodded, "Sure." She said making Lydia smile softly at her before getting up and following the old woman down the hall. She turns the corner to find the lady staring at an empty wall, "Why are you here?" Lydia asked but the old lady doesn't say or do anything and instead just stared at the wall as Lydia walked up to her.

"Is there something you wanted to tell me?" Lydia asked and the lady just keeps staring at the wall and doesn't answer any of Lydia's questions, "What stop has been canceled?" She asked. She started to reach out to grab the lady's shoulder but someone calling her name made her spin around.

"Lydia? Did you find it? The last door on the left!" Claudia called out and Lydia turned back to where the old lady was standing only to find her not there anymore making her sigh and close her eyes for a moment. "Hey." Someone said making Lydia turn around again to see Amara walking down the hall, "You alright?" She asked and Lydia sighed and shook her head slightly.

"I saw some lady who said something about stops being cancelled and I heard that train again." Lydia said and Amara nodded slightly as she glanced around. "We'll figure what the things you're seeing and hearing means. Who knows, maybe your banshee abilities knows were missing a friend or something." Amara suggested and Lydia nodded.

"Maybe..." She said as Amara grabbed her hand, "Come on, we should get back." Amara said and Lydia nodded. They were about to walk away but Amara pushed for a moment as she took a deep breath. "What?" Lydia asked and Amara furrowed her brows slightly as she looked at the wall before shaking her head and shrugging slightly.

"I thought I caught a scent for a moment." Amara said and Lydia raised her eyebrows, "What scent?" She asked. "I'm not sure..." Amara mumbled as she glanced around for a moment before sighing softly.

"You're not hearing me. Trust me... you don't wanna talk to him." Stilinski said as Amara and Lydia walked back into the room, "We just need a few minutes." Scott said and Stilinski shook his dead. "Scott. My father can't help you." Stilinski said as both he and Scott where now standing, "Just a few questions. Five minutes!"

Sheriff's exasperation reaches its peak and he speaks to Scott in a sharp tone, "It's not possible for you to just talk to this guy! Okay? Just find another way." Stilinski said as the girls walked over. "But what is this is the only way?" Scott asked and Claudia cuts the discussion to side with her husband, "Scott. You have your answer."

"Sheriff, please."

"Scott!" Claudia said as she stood up making Scott sigh softly, "The answer's no." Stilinski said making Scott, Amara and Lydia shared a frustrated look.

Scott, Amara, Lydia and Malia walk up to the nursing home and stop outside, "I can't believe we're about to break into a nursing home." Scott said and Malia shrugged slightly. "After the orderlies of Eichen House, pretty sure we can handle some nurses." She said before she walks ahead and enters the nursing house where she finds the head male nurse on a call as the other three follow her.

"I've gotta go. Someone is coming." The Nurse says as he ends the call and turns to Malia, "Hi, over there. There's something I can do-" He asks but Malia just grabs his head and slams it on the table. He falls on the ground after the impact with the table and Malia, off-screen, drags him into a closet and locks him in there.

The four teenagers walked into one of the sitting rooms where Elias Stilinski, is listening to old trumpet music making him turn to them as he hears them walk in. "Yes? Oh, is it time for my medicine?" He asked and Malia shook her head, "We don't have your medicine." She said and Elias sighs in understanding and turns around.

"Are you Elias Stilinski?" Lydia asked making him turn to her, "I am." He said and Scott and Amara look at each other before she walks towards Elias. "I'm Amara Hale. Do you know who I am?" She asked and he furrowed his brows, looking at her in confusion, "Should I?" He asked making her frown slightly as Scott walked forward. "Mr. Stilinski, we're looking for someone who might be named Stiles. And you went by the name in the army, right?" He asked and Elias nodded, "Yes. Those were the best years of my life." He said.

"Do you know any of us?" Malia asked and Elias looked at her slightly crazy, "Of course I do. How could I forget my own son?" He asked looking at Scott making him frown in confusion. "Your son?" He asked as Lydia turned to Elias.

"Mr. Stilinski. What year is it?" She asked making him look at her, "1976. My son's birthday is next week." He said making her sigh before tuning to Scott, Amara and Malia. "He has dementia." Lydia said making Scott's eyes widen slightly, turning to Elias with a slight frown.

"Is it time for my medicine?"

"Scott McCall?" Elias asked after a few minutes of them explaining who they are and Scott nodded making Elias shake his head. "No, no, no. You're my son." He said and Malia stepped forward slightly, "Keep it down, old guy. You'll wake up the other old people." She said before she starts eating peas from Elias' dinner making Amara, Lydia and Scott look at her weird while Elias looks uncomfortable with Malia's behavior.

"I don't like her."

Lydia sits next to Elias to help him with his memory problems and gives him a firm look, "Your son is the sheriff of Beacon Hills." She said and he looked at her confused. "Sheriff? No, no, no. I was in the army." He said making Malia sigh frustratingly, "Use your claws, Scott." She said and Scott shook his head.

"It could kill him." He said and Malia shrugged slightly, "I get that but we're running out of time." She said and Scott just sighed softly. "I can't." He said and Malia, both impatient and frustrated, flicks out her claws and went toward Elias but Amara stops her by grabbing her wrist. "We are not hurting him." She said before letting her go.

"Young lady." Elias said making Malia look over at him, "You need to clip those nails." He said and she sighed softly and stepped back.

Not long later, Elias starts getting more and more agitated because of Scott, Amara, Lydia and Malia's presence. "You shouldn't be here. If you don't leave, I have to report you." He said making Scott look at the girls wide eyed, "Uh... What's wrong with him?" He said and Lydia glanced out the window and realization crossed over her features.

"The sun went down." She said making Scott, Amara and Malia look at her confused. "So..." Scott asked as Elias starts becoming even more agitated and groans in anger, "He's sundowning. It's when patients with dementia lose their faculties after the sun goes down." Lydia explained.

"I don't wanna talk to you anymore!"

"So what do we do?" Malia asked and Lydia sighed and shook her head slightly, "Wait until the sun comes back up." She said making Malia look at her crazy. "We can't wait that long." She said and Scott nodded,
"There's gotta be something we can do to keep him quite."

"Leave. Leave. Leave. Leave."

"I can calm him down." Malia suggested making Scott and Amara instantly turn to her. "No!" They both said at the same time before Lydia turned to Elias, grabbing some of the papers on the table. "Elias look at the equations. Look. It's binomial of probability. What's "P"?" Lydia asked as Elias looked down at the papers.

"Probability of success?" He asked and she nodded, "Right. And what means N minus K?" She asked and he thinks for a moment before answering. "Number of trials minus the number of successes." He said and Lydia chuckled slightly and nodded, while Malia looked at them confused.

"What's with math?" Malia asked and Lydia glanced up at them "It helps Dementia patients concentration." She said before looking back at Elias. "And this one?" Lydia asked, pointing at another equation, "That's... um... Conditional probability." Elias answered before standing up while Lydia sat back down.

"Let's find the moment of inertia." She said but Elias didnt answer right away making her look up at him, "Elias?" She asked and he squinted at them.

"That's Mr. Stilinski. Just who the hell do you think you are?"

"You know Scott isn't your son?" Lydia asked and Elias looked at her like she was stupid, "Of course I know that. Are brains are getting smaller with the skirts?" He asked making Amara raise her eyebrows and cross her arms over her chest while Malia starts to growl under her breath.

"Malia. It's okay." Scott said making Elias turn to to him, "So you're that McCall kid." He said and Scott looked up at him surprised. "You know me?" He asked, "I know your dad. He couldn't hold his liquor, and certainly couldn't keep that wedding ring on his finger. A beautiful lady walking by and poof, that ring just disappeared like magic." He said making Scott look at him shocked while Amara crossed her arms over her chest.

"Do you know all of us?" Amara asked making Elias look at her first a second before recognizing her, "You're Makena Adisa's daughter. Am I right? You look like her. She was pretty once too." He said. "Stop talking." Malia said as her eyes flashed blue making Amara hold up her hand slightly, "My mother is beautiful, not that it's something you'll be able to relate to." Amara said and Elias chuckled.

"Your mother's tough for a woman." Elias said making Amara raise her eyebrows at him, "You want to keep talking about my mother? Where's yours?" Amara asked before Malia loses her patience completely, flicks out her claws and lunges toward Elias.

"Malia!"

"Enough!" Someone yelled making them all turn around to see Stilinski standing next to the equally-angry nurse that Malia locked in the closet before Scott regains his composure and attempts to justify his and the girls' actions. "Sheriff, we..." He started to say but Stilinski's expression is the one that shows how he couldn't be more disappointed with them. "I explicitly told you not come here. And who attacked a staff member?" He asked and the nurse pointed at Malia, "That's her." He said and Malia let out a low growl.

"What were you thinking?" Stilinski asked and Elias started to walk around the table, "Noah, we were just having a nice conversation." He said but Stilinski ignores his father and turns to Scott, Amara, Lydia and Malia with an instruction. "The four of you, out. Now." He said and the three nodded before walking off.

Sheriff starts to follow Scott, Amara, Lydia and Malia to the station, making Elias to become angry toward his son for not noticing him. "That's right! Act like I'm not even here. Go crawling back to your dead wife and your loser son!" Elias yelled making Stilinski turn to his father with a confused look, "What did you say?" He asked but before Elias could answer, he instantly goes back to his confused state.

"Is it... time... for my medicine?"

Scott, Amara, Lydia and Malia stand around the holding cells in the station getting scolded by a disappointed Natalie stood next to her. "We know this looks bad-" Scott said making Natalie scoff slightly, "It doesn't look bad, Scott. It is bad." She said and Scott makes a sheepish face before Natalie rants on the severity of the situation.

"You've broken into a nursing home, you harassed a dementia patient and beat up a nurse. This could affect the rest of your lives! Especially you, Malia. They're talking felony assault!" Natalie said and Malia shook her head slightly. "I didn't beat him up. I could have, but I chose not to." She said making Amara raise her eyebrows and nod slowly, "You are definitely my sister." She mumbled before Stilinski walked im

"By some miracle, the nurse decided to drop the charges. They're free to go." He said before walking and Natalie turned back to her daughter. "Just because you're not going to jail doesn't mean you aren't grounded for eternity."
