Chapter Sixty-Eight
🎭 Ouroboros 🎭

"Hey, is Kira okay?" Stiles as as Scott walked into the house but walked right past them and up the stairs. "Scott?" Amara called up to him. She glanced back at Stiles, Theo and Malia before running up the stairs.

They ran into Scott's room to see Scott with his claws in the back of Corey's neck. "Don't get too close." Amara said as she watched the two carefully, "What is he doing?" Theo asked. "Tapping into Corey's memories. It's usually something only Alphas do." Lydia explained and Theo walked over to get a look.

"Is it as dangerous as it looks?" Theo asked and Amara nodded, "More." She said. "Does anyone know if it's working?" Mason said and then a second later Scott gasped and pulled away from Corey. Stiles and Theo shot out to catch Scott while Lydia and Mason grabbed Corey, "Is he okay?"

"What the hell did you do to me?"

"You'll be all right."

"There's blood..."

"You'll heal."

"Scott-"

"He'll be fine!" Scott yelled as he started rabidly drawing on a piece of paper. "I think it worked. I saw something. There were tunnels, pipes along the walls... There were these huge blue pipes at the entrance, two on both sides." Scott explained and Stiles, Amara and Lydia walked over and looked at the paper.

"Wait a second... I know this. I've seen this before. That's one of the tunnels we used to skateboard in. Remember?" Stiles asked looking at Amara who nodded, "Our parents caught us one time and told us to never go back." Amara said. "It's the water treatment plant." Lydia said and Scott nodded, "That's where they are. That's where we'll find Liam and Hayden."

"Scott... Scott, slow down. Just think for a second, okay? Mason shouldn't be going." Stiles said as they followed Scott down the stairs. "Liam's my best friend- I'm going." Mason said making Stiles raised his eyebrows, "Oh, did you suddenly get super-wolf powers? I wasn't aware of that development."

"Well, if you're not going, I could use the help." Scott said and Stiles shook his head, "No, I'm coming as soon as I talk to my dad. They're moving the body, and he wants to make sure that this time, no one steals it." Stiles said and Amara furrowed her brows. "How's he gonna do that?" She asked and Stiles sighed.

"I don't know... But whoever took the last one was strong enough to flip my Jeep."

"We can take Theo." Malia suggested, "Maybe I better stay here... You know, in case the Doctors decide to make a house call for Corey." He said and Scott looked over at Amara. "Amara?" He asked and she sighed, "It kills me say it but Theo's got a point, if the Dread Doctors come here for Corey I gotta be here. Theo isnt strong enough to fight them off. But Stiles is also right, we need to slow down and think."

"I am thinking- about how Liam and Hayden could already be dead." Scott said making her give him a look, "You could've hurt him, Scott. Really hurt him." Amara said and he sighed. "I have to find Liam." He said and walked out, Mason and Malia following. "Hey, text me. For anything." Stiles said and Malia nodded, "I got it." She said. "Anything at all, okay?" He called out before turning to everyone else.

"It healed, didn't it?" Corey asked as Lydia looked at his neck, "Yeah... Completely." Theo said as Amara and Lydia looked at each other with small sighs. "Okay, then. It's been fun. Especially the part where a Werewolf forced his way into my brain with his claws." Corey said as he stood up making them raise her eyebrows at him.

"I don't think leaving is such a good idea, Corey. You know, Lydia's a Banshee. It means she can tell when someone's close to death. Lydia, what happens if he walks out that door?" Theo asked and Lydia awkwardly nodded, "...It's bad... Very bad." Lydia said. "I'll take my chances." Corey said before walking away making them follow.

"Then give us a better chance at finding our friends. What else did you see?" Theo asked making Corey stop, "Come on, Corey, there had to be something else." He said and Corey sighed. "There was the hospital, and... they took me outta my room..."

"And then where?" Amara asked and Corey thought for a moment,  "The tunnels... Like I already told you. That's it." Corey said and Theo took a step forward. "Yeah, nothing after that?" He asked and Corey shook his head after a second, "No."

"Well, there has to be more. Think. Corey, for one minute, just think. It's not that hard." Amara said and Corey sighed and thought for a moment. "...There was a basement." He said and Amara nodded slightly, "Where? Like, in a building?"

"A house. It was old, covered in dust, and... There was a broken stone wall with a large hole in it, like a bomb went off." Corey said making Theo turn to Lydia and Amara, "Guys, the Werewolf with the talons, the one who attacked Scott? Didn't Parrish say that he smashed through the wall of a basement? Wasn't it something like that?"

"No... It was exactly like that. I'm going." Amara said as she went to grab her keys, "I'm coming with you." Theo said making her stop and raise her eyebrows at him and scoff. "Sure of you want me to kill you out pure annoyance." She said and he sighed,  "Come on, you need a little back up just in case." He said and Amara looked at Lydia who nodded in agreement making her sigh.

"If you piss me off I'll turn you into a grilled wolf."

Amara pulled up to the house and they instantly jumped out and ran in. They ran down the stairs to the basement to see a giant hole in the wall, behind it was a chain link metal fence. "Liam! Hayden!" Amara called out as she ran forward, "Amara!" Liam yelled as her and Theo ran up to the fence.

Theo instantly moved to grab the fence, "Theo, wait! Don't!" Liam yelled but Theo still grabbed the fence and instantly got electrified and fell to the ground.

Amara laughed slightly as she walked over to him, "That was a good laugh. Thank you for that."  She said making him look up at her. "I'm fine thank you for asking." He said and she shrugged, "I didn't ask." She said. She held her hand out to him but when he went to grab it she pulled her hand back and walked away making him sigh.

"You think you can get help?" Liam asked and Theo sighed, "We are the help." He said before looking over at Amara who went to grab the fence but he stopped her. "Are you serious? Did you not see what just happened?" He asked and she nodded and looked at him, "You're weak. I'm not." She said and he scoffed and nodded.

"You think you can do it?" He asked and she looked at him like he was stupid, "No, Theo. I don't think I can do it. It's not like I've been electrocuted before." She said sarcastically and he just shrugged and gestured for her to take a go at it. Florence looked back at the fence and took a deep breath as she closed her eyes, "Sorry, Scotty." She mumbled before she opened her glowing red eyes.

She grabbed the fence as electricity crackled but all she did was groan slightly. She slowly pulled the fence apart before forcefully pushing it open and her eyes went back to normal as she looked at Theo.

"See, what did I tell you." She said before looking at Liam and Hayden, "Are you guys okay?" She asked as she ran over to them. She instantly noticed the cut on Hayden's side covered in black blood making her sigh, "Okay, we better get you two home."

A few minutes later they were all in the truck, Liam and Hayden in the back. Amara glanced at the rearview mirror to see Liam kiss Hayden, taking away her pain in the process making smile softly before looking back out at the road.

Amara sat on the arm of the chair, as Lydia was cleaning off some cuts on Amara's hands from the fence when Scott, Malia and Mason walked in. They instantly noticed Liam and Hayden sleeping together on the couch making them sigh in relief.

"This is gonna be a once in a lifetime moment but, Theo actually had a good idea." Amara said when Theo pulled Scott into a hug. "Does that mean you'll stop hating me now?" Theo asked looking over at her making her give him a dirty look.

"If I had a gun with only one bullet and I was in a room with you, Gerard Argent and Hitler. I would shoot you."

"It's him. He's the one taking the bodies." Stiles said as Amara looked down at Parrish's name tag. Apparently another chimera's body was taken in the hospital and all that was left behind was a charred mark on the morgue freezer doors and Parrish's name tag on the ground.

Amara sighed as she thought back to how similar her and Parrish's dreams where, which by her resurfaced memory. "Yeah... and I know where he's taking them..."
