Chapter Sixty-Four
๐ญ Condition Terminal ๐ญ
"You're going to do a magic trick?" Parrish asked as Amara sat down next to him and Lydia sat down in front of his desk at the station. "Technically we both are." Amara said as she occasionally made a small flame in the palm of her hand.
"I only know one trick, and it's with a playing card." Parrish said and Lydia shrugged, "Well, this one involves Amara's fire and your hand." Lydia said making Parrish raise his eyebrows. "This is sounding less like a magic trick and more like assault." He said and Amara nodded, "It's kinda dangerous, yeah. But it's not as bad as being lit on fire in a Deputy Sheriff's car..." She trailed off and Lydia nodded.
"Which, by the way, you walked away from unscathed." Lydia said and Parrish pointed at her, "Not entirely! I had to pay for the uniform." He said and Amara chuckled. "You poor thing. Give me your hand." She said and he held out his hand, "I think I've seen something like this in a movie." He said.
"Lawrence of Arabia." Lydia said and Amara nodded as she held her hand under Parrish's, "Remind me what the trick was?" He asked. "I'm going to burn you and you're not gonna pay any mind to it." She said before letting a flame the size of a lighter dance on her palm.
He held his hand over the flame for a few second before quickly pulling away. "Ow! Son of a-" He said while the girls laughed and looked at each other, "Oh come on, you can last longer than that." Amara said and Lydia nodded in agreement. "This time, do something different. Don't think about the flame. Don't think about the heat. Don't think about it hurting. Don't even look at it." Lydia said and Parrish nodded, "Okay." He said before sighing and holding his hand out over Amara's.
A small flame appeared on her palm and Parrish stared past Amara, paying no mind to the flame burning his hand. Which smoke was coming off of. Amara glanced at Lydia who looked at her as well before they looked back at Parrish while Amara thought for a second.
The flame on her palm turned a blue color and Parrish still held his hand over it for a good ten seconds before Amara pulled her hand away. Parrish snapped out of whatever stance he was and looked at Amara slightly alarmed, "Why'd you stop?" He asked and she squinted slightly as she sat back.
"I used blue fire and you didnt do anything." She said making him look at her in shock before looking down at his hand. On the palm of his hand was a giant black smug and when he wiped some if it away the skin underneath was completely fine. "Did it hurt?" Lydia asked and Parrish shook his head slightly making Amara hum.
"Your eyes kind of drifted. What were you thinking about?" Amara asked making Parrish look at her, "A dream." He said and Lydia raised her eyebrows. "What dream?" She asked and he sighed softly. "I've had it here and there for about six months. I'm walking in the woods, carrying a body... But it's completely burned. I can't see who it is or who it was." He explained and Amara nodded slightly.
"Where are you taking it?" She asked, "A clearing. There's a huge tree in the middle of it. You'd think it was a thousand years old... But it's been cut down. It's just a stump." Parrish said making Lydia and Amara look at each other for a moment. "It's real. It's a real tree, in a real part of Beacon Hills. It used to be the center of a grove of trees called a Nemeton." Lydia said and Amara nodded while Parrish furrowed his brows.
"What's a Nemeton?" He asked and Amara sighed, "A sacred meeting place for Celtic Druids. They were scientists and healers thousands of years ago." Amara said and Parrish shook his head slightly, "I've never seen this place." He said ans Amara nodded slowly as she sat up.
"But that's why you're here- it drew you here. That's what it does. It's a beacon for supernatural creatures. It can even make us more powerful... What else happens?" Amara asked, very intrigued by all of this as Parrish stood up. "I put the body down. I... I lay it down on the rings of the tree, and..." He trailed off making the girls raise their eyebrows.
"What?" Lydia asked and Parrish looked at Amara, "I see you... Standing in the middle of the stump, your hands completely covered on fire..." He said and trailed off slightly. "That's it. That's the end of the dream." He said and Amara sighed softly as sat back again.
"Glad to know I'm not the only one having weird dreams about the Nemeton." She said as she glanced at Lydia who already knew about them before looking at Parrish. "In my dreams, I'm just standing on it and its completely surrounded my partly burnt dead bodies... After a minute a giant burst of fire comes from me, burning the bodies into ash." Amara explained as Parrish sat back down.
"Whatever you are, you're similar to me but also completely different... We need to figure what that is."

Scott, Stiles, Theo, Makena and Deaton all ran into the station the first thing they noticed was the smear of blood and then Deputy Clarke helping Stilinski up. Scott rushed over to help while Stiles followed the blood to find Amara, Kira and Lydia.
Amara glanced up to see Stiles staring at them wide eyes when Theo noticed and ran over, taking his belt off in the process. He got down next to Amara and got his belt around Lydia's waist before pulling it tight making Lydia groan in pain and grab Amara's hands.
"Stiles, come on." Scott said and Stiles glanced at him before looking back at Lydia and Amara. "They're on the basement." Amara said and Stiles nodded before following Scott and Makena.
Amara looked down at Lydia who had her face scrunched up in pain and breathing heavily. She gently squeezed Lydia's hands and black veins trailed up her arm making her suck in a deep breath as Lydia's breathing relaxed a bit.
๐ญ
"Amara." Melissa said as she walked up to them making them turn around, "How bad is it?" Amara asked. "Could have been worse. Theo, nice going on that tourniquet. You probably saved her life." Melissa said making Amara look over at Theo.
"All right. She's about to go into surgery, so it's going to be a while. Any other supernatural details that I need to know about, or do we just stitch her up and hope for the best?" Melissa asked, glancing at everyone. "It was the tail." Kira said making Melissa look over at her and Scott nodded, "Yeah, Tracy cut her with the tail, if that makes a difference." He said and Melissa nodded.
"Okay." She said before walking off while Malia looked at Scott and Stiles. "But it wasn't just Tracy. There were the others- the guys in the masks." Malia said and Amara looked at her confused, "Men in masks?"

Laying in a hospital bed, Lydia woke up and glanced around to see Amara sitting in chairs next to her. Amara had her legs up on the bed as she flipped through channels on the TV. "What are you doing here?" Lydia asked making Amara look at her, "Well I was here as a worried friend with my mom who was supposed to an eyewitness testimony but she had to go deal with something so I'm waiting for Parrish to get here and him or a Doctor kick me out cause I'm not supposed to be here." Amara said making Lydia chuckle.
"Now, I'm trying to find something to watch. ut the only thing that comes in is this kung-fu movie that I've seen before." Amara said and Lydia stared at the TV for a moment during a fighting scene. "Do you know how to do that?" She asked making Amara look at her with raised eyebrows.
"Ju-jitsu? I mean technically, my mom knows it and she taught me out to fight so I kinda use it every now and then." Amara said, "Can you teach me?" Lydia asked making Amara raise her eyebrows. "You want to learn ju-jitsu? Hand-to-hand?" She asked and Lydia nodded slightly, "I want to learn how to fight. Can you teach me?" She asked and Amara nodded. "Yeah- Yeah, I can teach you." She said.
The door opened making them look over as Parrish walked in, he noticed Amara and gave her a look. "You know you're not supposed to be here." He said and she sighed and pouted slightly, "Yeah, I know..."
๐ญ
"Did you get in to see Lydia?" Scott asked as Stiles, Amara and Malia ran over to him in the library. "She's still in the ICU, and no one outside family is allowed in except an officer but I snuck it. She's doing okay." Amara said and Scott nodded as Malia set the bestiary on the table.
"Anything in here about half-werewolves, half-Kanimas?" Kira asked as she started flipping through pages, "The Chimera." Scott said making Stiles look at him confused. "Uh, what?" He asked and Scott looked up at him, "Chimera. It's a creature made of incongruous parts." Scott said and Amara nodded in agreement. "AP Bio?" She asked and Scott nodded, "Yeah and if Liam said he found two burial sites, it means Tracy's not the only one."
"Who's the second Chimera?" Kira asked, glancing at them all of them, "And why would they bury them?" Stiles asked. "Deaton thinks it's part of their process." Scott said and Malia nodded slightly, "The people in masks." She said and they all glanced at each other.
๐ญ
"This way." Melissa said as she let Scott, Kira and Amara through the hall, "He came in about forty-five minutes ago." Melissa said as they walked towards a room that had loud screaming coming from it making them glance at each other.
"Melissa. I'm gonna find an anesthesiologist covering acute pain. See what you can do." Dr. Geyer said, walking up to Melissa and she nodded before stopping outside the room as a kid named Corey, screamed out in pain. "Mom, what's happening to him?" Scott asked and Melissa sighed, "It's the pain- nothing's working. We've already pumped him full of morphine."
"Can't they do anything to help him?" Kira asked making Melissa look at her, "We can put him in a medically-induced coma. It's how we help burn victims deal with the pain." Melissa said and Scott and Amara looked at each other.
"Let us see if we can help." Amara said before walking into the room. They all walked in, Melissa keeping watch at the door. Amara, Scott and Kira walked over to Corey who was strapped down to the bed as he screamed. "Please, make it stop. Please, make it stop." Corey begged and Scott and Amara looked at each other before nodding and grabbing Corey's hands.
Slowly, black veins trailed from Corey's hands to theirs making them both groan. After a few seconds Amara pulled away but Scott hadn't yet. "Scott." Amara said but he still didn't pull away as he groaned in pain, "Scott you have to let go." Amara said as Melissa and Kira ran over to him and pulled him away from Corey.
"I'm okay." He said as he breathed heavily, "Let me see it. Let me see his arm." Scott said and Melissa took off one of the restraints and pulled off the bandage. "Ew." Amara said, "What the hell is that?" She asked and Melissa looked over at her. "The lab says scorpion venom." Melissa said making Scott's eyes widen, "Scorpion?"
"I know. But that's not the weirdest part... Because a sting this bad means that he should have been dead ten hours ago, and the scorpion that stung him would have been ten feet tall." Melissa said making Amara's eyes widen. "Ten foot tall scorpion? Are you being serious right now?" Amara asked and Melissa hummed and nodded, "If thats what it is then I'm moving." Amara mumbled.
"Lucas..." Corey said making them look at him, "It was Lucas." Corey said and Amara sighed. "I'll take the ten foot scorpion." She mumbled.
"Hey, Corey... What Lucas did to you? He's gonna do it to someone else, and it's gonna be much worse." Scott said and Kira nodded, "We need to know what happened." She said. "I don't really know... He's never been like that before..." He trailed off as he sat up, "Like what?" Amara asked making him look over at her, "Aggressive. We were taking it slow, but it wasn't me- he was the shy one. Then, we're hanging out today, and it's like he was a different person."
"Like different how?"
"Like, super confident. We were just kissing, and then I felt this sharp sting on my arm, and... And then I looked up at him, and I swear, his eyes turned black." He explained and Amara raised her eyebrows at him, "You mean completely black?" She asked and he nodded. "The whole eye- but it was only for a second. And then he said "Sorry," that he'll see me at the club tonight, and then he just left. And then a few minutes later, I'm in the worst pain of my life."
"Hold on... You said "club." What club?" Kira asked, "Every Friday night... Sinema." He said making Amara close her eyes for a moment before looking at Scott and Kira. "Liam and Mason are at Sinema right now." She said making their eyes widen.
๐ญ
"A kid turning into a half-scorpion, half-Werewolf? Is there even a myth for that?" Kira asked as they walked up to the club and Amara nodded, "Aqrabuamelu, it's a Sumerian myth about a half man half scorpion creature. It's in the Bestiary." Amara said as they walked up to the door.
Scott opened the door and they walked in but all of the sudden lights started flashing and an alarm went off making their eyes widen. Kira pulled something off her belt before throwing at one if the cables on the wall making the alarm stop.
"God, I love you." Scott said before running off into the club. Kira looked wide eyed at Amara who furrowed her brows slightly, "And here I thought I had horrible timing." Amara said and Kira huffed and nodded before they both ran after him.
"You did it again! You did something that changed everything, and you don't even realize you did it! But you did." Kira said as they caught up to Scott making him look at her confused, "I did?" He asked. "You're really bad at this." Amara said, patting his shoulder.
But before he could say anything they heard someone roar making them look around before running in a direction. They ran through a bead curtain to see some kid with spikes coming out of his arms and back, on top of Liam.
Scott ran at them and grabbed onto some metal beam, spinning around it and kicking Lucas off of Liam while Kira undid her belt, turning it into her sword. Lucas managed to throw Scott to the ground and then Liam making Amara step up. Lucas swiped at her but she dodged before grabbing the back of his neck, bringing his face down onto her knee.
It didn't affects him for long before he charged at her, trying to hit her with his spikes but she ducked under his arm before punching him. He stumbled back but recovered and went to charge at her and she went to punch him again. He grabbed her hand before she could and kicked her in the stomach making her stumble back.
He turned to Kira, who spun her sword around before running at him. He tried to hit her with his arms but she blocked them with her sword a few times. He grabbed her hand but she quickly kicked him making him stumble back some and went to charge at her but Liam shot out, grabbing him by the shirt before slamming him down on the ground.
His eyes went back to normal making them sigh in relief but Kira's fox aura surrounded her just like it did at the station before running at him. "Watashi wa shi no shisha da!" Kira yelled in japanese, swinging her sword around, about to bring it down onto Lucas but Scott grabbed her arm, stopping her.
She looked at him with a slight glare for a second before the aura disappeared as she realized what was happening. Everyone looked at her in shock as she slowly took a step back. "Is everyone okay?" Scott asked, "My ego bruised but sure." Amara said as she stood up.
"We need to get him out of here. Liam, give me a hand." Scott said Amara walked up to Kira, noticing how she just stared at Lucas. "Kira." Amara said in a slight whisper as she gently grabbed Kira's shoulder, "It's okay." She said and Kira glanced at her.
All of the sudden an arrow attached to a wire shot through Lucas's chest right as Scott and Liam lifted him up. The arrow shot back out making everyone look up to that Malia kept talking about. "Why did you do that?" Scott asked in shock, "His condition was terminal." One of them answered
"What does that mean?" Amara asked, taking a step forward and they just turned around to walk away. "Hey, I asked you a question! What the hell does that mean?" She yelled again making them stop and turned back around.
"Failure."
