Chapter Three
🐺 Pack Mentality 🐺

"So you killed her?" Stiles asked as him, Scott and Amara walked through the halls of the school, "I don't know. I just woke up. And I was sweating like crazy, and I couldn't breathe. I've never had a dream where I woke up like that before." Scott said.

"Really? I have. Usually ends a little differently." Stiles said making Amara and Scott looked at him weird, "None of us needed to know that." Amara said. "A, I meant I've never had a dream that felt that real, and B, never give me that much detail about you in bed again." Scott said and Stiles nodded.

"Noted. Let me take a guess here -" Stiles started to say but Scott shook his head, "No, I know, you think it has something to do with me going out with Allison tomorrow, like I'm gonna lose control and rip her throat out." Scott said and Stiles shook his head slightly. "No, of course not." He said making Amara raise her eyebrows, "Your heartbeat disagrees." She said and he pointed at her

"One- You're a snitch. Two- Yeah, that's totally it. Hey, come on, it's gonna be fine, all right? Personally, I think you're handling this pretty freakin' amazingly. You know, it's not like there's a lycanthropy for beginners class you can take." Stiles said and realization crossed over Scott's features.

"Yeah, not a class, but maybe a teacher." Scott said making Stiles look at him like he was crazy, "Who, Derek?" Stiles asked  hitting Scott in the back of the head before continuing, "You forgetting the part where we got him tossed in jail? Also, Amara is literally a Werewolf. She's been through this before." Stiles said and Amara nodded.

"You need help? Here's what happened. You had a dream about a girl you just started dating and it turned into a nightmare where you killed her. It's just your nerves and hormones messing with your head. I probably had dreams of killing the two of you when my wolf powers came in." Amara said making Stiles frown while Scott nodded, "I know, but chasing her, dragging her to the back of the bus, it felt so real."

"How real?" Stiles asked as they walked outside, "Like it actually happened." Scott said and Amara froze. "Okay, maybe it did." She said making the boys stop and look at what was in front of them. Deputies, including Makena, were walking around, taking pictures of the back door of the bus hanging by its hinges with four large claw marks on the door. Blood covered the seats and also trailed to the outside of the bus a bit.

"Hi, mom."

🐺

"I'm sure she's fine." Amara said running after Scott who was freaking out, "She's not answering my texts, Amara." Scott stressed typing away at his phone. "It could just be a coincidence, all right? A seriously amazing coincidence." Stiles said, "Just help me find her, okay? Do you see her?" Scott asked and Amara shook her head.

At some point Scott had gotten so frustrated to the point he had punched a random locker, denting it to the point it was bearly hanging by the hinges.

Eventually Scott ran into Allison and Stiles and Amara stood back. "Attention, students, this is your principal. I know you're all wondering about the incident that occurred last night to one of our buses. While the police work to determine what happened, classes will proceed as scheduled." The over head speaker said making a bunch of students groan while Amara scoffed.

"People are gonna actually die in this school one day." Amara said making Stiles look at her weird, "Why are you so creepy?" He asked and she just shrugged slightly before walking out.

🐺

"Maybe it was my blood on the door..." Scott whispered to Stiles and Amara as they sat in chemistry class, "Could have been animal blood. You know, maybe you caught a rabbit or something?" Stiles said making Scott look at him appalled. "And did what?" Scott asked and Stiles shrugged, "Ate it." He said and Scott's eyes widened.

"Raw?" Scott asked making Stiles give him a look, "No, you stopped to bake it in a little Werewolf oven! I don't know, you're the one who can't remember anything." Stiles said and Amara turned around and pointed her pencil at them. "Nope, definitely human. Trust me, you can smell the difference." She said making Scott's eyes widen while Stiles look at Amara with raised eyebrows.

"When have you ever been in the position where you've had the change to notice they have different smells?" He asked but before she could say anything else Mr. Harris spoke up.

"Mr. Stilinski, if that's your idea of a hushed whisper, you might want to pull the headphones out every once in a while. I think you, Mr. McCall and Miss. Hale would benefit from a little distance, yes?" He asked and Stiles scoffed, "No..." He said and Harris pointed at two different seats making the guys get up while Amara stayed in here seat.

"Let me know if the separation anxiety gets to be too much." Harris said and Stiles chuckled sarcastically while they moved to their seat. Scott sat down and glanced back momentarily to see Jackson's glare on him making his eyes widen slightly as he turned back around.

"Hey! I think they found something!" Harley said before she and the rest of the class got up to look out the window. An ambulance was parked by the woods as two EMT’s emerge from the foliage, pushing a gurney. Strapped to it was a man's bodies making Scott's eyes widen, "That's not a rabbit..." He muttered.

The man suddenly shot up making the students jump and let out a small scream as the EMT's ease the victim down. Scott stepped back from the others, stunned and devastated as Stiles and Amara slowly approached him. "Okay. This is good, this is good! He got up, he's not dead. Dead guys can't do that." Stiles said and Scott shook his head

"Guys... I did that."

🐺

"But dreams aren't memories." Stiles said as him, Amara and Scott walked over to a lunch table, "Then it wasn't a dream... Something happened last night, and I can't remember what." Scott said as they sat down. "What makes you so sure that Derek even has all the answers?" Stiles asked while giving Scott a look, obviously not agreeing with the idea Scott had about getting help from Derek.

"Because during the full moon, he wasn't changed. He was in total control while I was running around in the middle of the night, attacking some totally innocent guy." Scott said and Amara nodded, "Yes because like me, Derek was born a werewolf. People in my family were taught elements of control before even showing signs on becoming a werewolf." Amara said and Scott sighed.

"I can't go out with Allison. I have to cancel." Scott said and Stiles shook his head, "No, you're not cancelling, okay? You can't just cancel your entire life! We'll figure it out." Stiles said and all of the sudden Lydia places her tray on the table next to Scott. "Figure out what?" She asked making the three of them look at her shocked, "Uh... Homework. Just homework." Scott answers and she smiled and sat down.

Stiles pauses with a french fry held just at his lips before he leans over to whisper to Scott and Amara, "Why is she sitting with us?" He asks and they both shrugged. Allison walked over and Scott removes his backpack from the seat he was saving for her.

Stiles still holds that french fry, watching with increasing surprise as Lydia's friends, one of Jackson's lacrosse teammates and Danny the goalie sit down with them as well. A moment later Jackson walked up, and glared at his teammate that sat at the head of the table, "Get up." He said making the guy look at him offended.

"How come you never ask Danny to get up?" The teammate said and Danny chuckled, "Because I don't stare at his girlfriend's coin slot." He said and the guy sighed and grabbed his tray and gets up, sitting down somewhere else. Jackson sits down and his glare fixates on Scott, not at all happy this kid has somehow infiltrated his crew.

"So they're saying it's an animal attack. Probably a cougar." Danny said after a few seconds, "I heard mountain lion." Jackson said and Amara looked at him like he was stupid. "A cougar is a mountain lion." Amara and Lydia said at the same time, but unlike Amara, Lydia instantly starts to play dumb when she realizes everyone was looking at them, "Isn't it?" She asked.

"Who cares? The guy's probably some
homeless tweaker who's gonna' die
anyway." Jackson said and Amara chuckled, "There's the Jackson we all know and love. The loveable, empathetic ray of sunshine who cares about so many people. God, I would I could be just like him some day." She said sarcastically making him glare and she just smiled. "Actually, I just found out who he is. Check it out." Stiles said as he held his phone out making everyone look at it.

"Identified the victim of the possible animal attack as Garrison Meyers-"

"I-I know that guy." Scott said making everyone look at him, "You do?" Allison asked, raising her eyebrows and he nodded. "I used to take the bus back when I lived at my Dad's place. He was the driver." He said as everyone sat back down in their seats.

"Can we talk about something slightly more fun, please? Like where we're going tomorrow night?" Lydia asked making Allison and Scott whip their heads around to her, "You said you and Scott were hanging out tomorrow, right?" She asked making alarm bells go off in Scott's mind as he glances over to see Stiles shaking his head no while Amara watched in amusement.

"Um, we were thinking of what we were gonna do..." Allison said slowly and Lydia hummed. "Well, I am not sitting home again, watching lacrosse videos, so if the four of us are hanging out, we are doing something fun." Lydia said making Scott look over at Allison with wide eyes, "Hanging out? Like, the four of us? Do you wanna hang out, like, us and them?"

"Yeah, I guess... Sounds fun..." Allison said and Jackson cocked his eyebrow, "You know what else sounds fun? Stabbing myself in the face with this fork." Jackson said, holding up his fork. Lydia took the fork away from him before an idea came to her head. "How 'bout bowling? You love to bowl." She asked and he scoffed, "Yeah, with actual competition." He said. "How do you know we're not actual competition? You can bowl, right?" Allison asked looking at Scott who looked slightly uncomfortable, "Sort of." He said slowly.

"Is it sort of, or yes?" Jackson asked as he leaned forward slightly, "Yes. In fact, I'm a great bowler." Scott said while also leaning forward and Amara chuckled and gestured between them.

"Are you gonna kiss now or-"

🐺

"You're a terrible bowler!" Stiles said as he, Amara and Scott walked down the hall. "I know! I'm such an idiot." Scott stressed and Amara just laughed, "God, it was like watching a car wreck. I mean, first it turned into the whole group date thing. And then out of nowhere comes that phrase."

"Hang out."

"You don't hang out with hot girls, okay? It's like death. Once it's hanging out, you might as well be her gay best friend. You and Danny can start hanging out." Stiles said making Amara look at him weird, "You guys hang out with me everyday." She said and Stiles nodded slightly. "You're the gay best friend." He said and she hummed and nodded before squinting slightly, "Was that a subtle way of calling yourself hot?"

"How is this happening? I either killed a guy or I didn't." Scott stressed but Stiles wasnt paying attention, "I don't think Danny likes me very much." Stiles said. "I ask Allison on a date, and now we're hanging out." Scott said but neither of the guys were paying attention to each other.

"Am I not attractive to gay guys?" Stiles asked making Amara look at him with furrowed brows. "I make first line, and the team captain wants to destroy me, and now-now I'm gonna be late for work." Scott said before he started walking off making Stiles look at him.

"Wait, Scott, you didn't - am I attractive to gay guy - you didn't answer my question!" Stiles called out as Scott walked away,  "Am I attractive to gay guys?" Stiles asked turning to Amara. "I'm not a gay guy." She said and he shrugged, "But you're gay." He said and she nodded. "Yeah, I'm lesbian gay, not guy gay. Come on, Stiles. Learn your gays." Amara said before walking away.

(Take a shot everytime the word "gay" was said)

🐺

"Hey, no, just me. Someone needs to keep watch." Scott said after Stiles tried to climb the gate of the school. Scott had gone and talked to Derek earlier and was told to come back here and use his other senses on the bus to figure out what happened. "How come I'm always the guy keeping watch?" Stiles asked and Scott looked ar him like he was obvious, "Because there's only three of us."

"Okay, why's it starting to feel like you're Batman and I'm Robin? I don't want to be Robin all the time." Stiles said making Scott look at him weird, "Nobody's Batman and Robin any of the time." Scott said and Stiles pouted. "Not even some of the time?" He asked making Scott give him a look, "Just stay here."

"Oh, my God! Fine." Stiles exclaimed making Amara laugh as they walked back to the car, "If Scott's Batman and you're Robin, who am I." Amara asked and Stiles thought for a moment. "A gender bent Firestorm." He said and she nodded, "Hot." She said.

They sat for a few minuets talking about superheros when they saw a light shining at the bus making Stiles honk and Amara climb into the back. "Come on - come on" he said as Scott ran to the car. "Go! Go! Go! Go!" Scott said and Stiles quickly started driving.

"Did it work? Did you remember?" Wren asked and Scott nodded, "Yeah, I was there last night. And the blood- a lot of it was mine." Scott answered and Stiles glanced at him. "So you did attack him?" Stiles asked and Scott shook his head. "No. I saw glowing eyes in the bus, but they weren't mine. It was Derek." Scott said making Amara scoff.

"You are so dumb."

"What about the driver?" Stiles asked, "I think I was actually trying to protect him." Scott said and Amara furrowed her brows. "Let me get this straight... which is hard for me to do. But if you think Derek is the one who attacked the guy, which he didn't, why on earth would he help you remember?" She asked and Scott sighed and shrugged, "That's what I don't get."

"It's got to be a pack thing." Stiles said making Scott look at him, "What do you mean?" He asked. "Like an initiation. You do the kill together." Stiles said making Amara look at him weird, "Stiles, this isn't a fraternity." She said. "Because ripping someone's throat out is a real bonding experience?" Scott said sarcastically and Stiles nodded, "Yeah, but you didn't do it, which means you're not a killer. And it also means that -" He did but Scott cut him off

"I can go out with Allison." Scott said making Stiles and Amara side glance him, "I was gonna say it means you won't kill us- or at least me." Stiles said and Scott nodded, "Oh, yeah. That too." Scott said.

"Dick."

🐺

After work at the video store, Amara walked up the steps to the Hale House after her brother told her about the bus driver dying. She opened the door but before she could completely walk in her Derek goes flying past her onto a wall. She raised her eyebrows, slowly closing the door as she noticed a wolfed out Scott making her sigh and sit down on the staircase.

She watched the two fight for a little while before sighing and standing up and whistled loudly. "Are you done now or what?" She asked and Derek stepped back, breathing hard as he reigned the animal rage, now back to normal as well. "I didn't kill him. Neither of us did. It's not your fault and it's not mine." He said and Scott slowly stands, beaten and dripping wet. But his eyes remain defiant, "This... this is all your fault. You ruined my life." He said dramatically making Amara roll her eyes.

"No, I didn't."

"You're the one who bit me!" Scott said and Amara shook her head, "No, he's not." She said making Scott look at her confused. "What?" He asked, "I'm not the one who bit you." Derek said and Scott stares at him for a moment before realization crosses over his face. "There's another." He said and Derek and Amara both nodded.

"It's called an Alpha. The most dangerous of our kind. You, Amara and I, we're Betas. This thing... it's more powerful, more animal than either of us. My sister came here looking for him, trying to stop him. And I don't think we can do it without you." Derek said making Scott look up at him in confusion.

"Why me?" Scott asked and Amara sighed and crossed her arms over her chest, "Because he turned you. You're part of his pack. It's you, Scott." Amara said making Scott look at her. "You're the one he wants." Amara said.

None of them were aware figure off in the distance of the woods, staring at the house with vibrant blood red eyes.
