Y/n's pov

It's been a week or so since Dipper asked me out and he's been taking me on cute little dates whenever we weren't busy with fighting creatures or following some mysterious clue in the journal.

I could feel that we were getting closer and closer to unlocking the big mystery going on.

•••

I woke up to a bright flashing light from before, only this time it was quick and almost unnoticeable.

Curious, I walked downstairs and saw that the vending machine in the Shack was glowing from something behind it. I tried moving it out of the way but it wouldn't budge which made me even more curious.

I went to look for Soos's tool box he usually leaves laying around and when I found it I pulled out the crowbar and headed back for the vending machine. With a few tries, I finally got the vending machine to move but instead of finding a wall I saw stairs spiraling down to some room where the flashing bright lights where illuminating the newly discovered hallway.

I picked up the crowbar I had dropped and headed down the stairs with the tool raised. As I got closer, I heard some alarming noises started to go off and I thought I caused them but when no one was in sight, I mentally thanked god.

A little shaky, I walked around the corner to face whatever was making the noise and what I saw was unbelievable.

"Warning. Blah blah blah. Extreme usage could result in minor gravity anomalies. Can it, I've come this far. I'm not giving up now." Stan stood hovering over a panel, reading something.

What does he mean he's come this far? Whatever he's doing sounds incredibly dangerous.

"Stan?" I lowered my crowbar and tilted my head.

He immediately turned around and gasped at the sight of me and fumbled with something behind him and it fell on the ground. Journal number one?

Stans eyes widened. "Kid, what are you-"

He was cut off by some triangle looking thing with a glowing circle in it with symbols lighting up around it from behind him, which started to activate. Something started spiraling inside of the glowing circle and everything started lifting into the air like there was no gravity.

After a few seconds, everything fell back onto the ground and my crowbar was no where in sight.

"What is all of this?" I asked, still not moving from my spot with my jaw clenched.

"Look, this isn't what it seems. I-I-I can explain."

I fixed my stance and walked a couple steps closer to him. "You better."

He picked up journal number one and then put it in a cupboard filled with other books as he turned back to me.

"Y/n. I know this looks really bad, but it's not. This is for something very important to me that's coming in the future."

I thought about what Bill said before. "Something coming in the future? Something big! Stan if your hiding something that could hurt us-"

His eyes widened and acted as if he was really trying to reach out to me about something but couldn't tell me what. "No, no. It's nothing bad. Yeah, it might cause gravity to change but I swear, you have to trust me. You can't tell the others."

"Why can't I? Are you the reason the agents shown up before? You've been acting weird for awhile and I never knew why." I backed up a step because I was starting to get worried. "I don't know what all of this is but I won't tell anyone. I owe you that. If this blows up in my face later, then I swear Stanford-"

He held up his hand and looked away, closing his eyes and taking a sigh. "My name isn't Stanford."

I widened my eyes and froze. Why was he lying about his name? I'm even more confused then before.

I crossed my arms. "What?"

"My name is Stanley." He admitted, shamefully.

How come both of the names sound so familiar? Did he just make it up because he liked the ending words as 'ford' and 'ley'? It made no sense. Didn't I see someone that looked exactly like him as a child in his memories chanting 'Pines' together?

"Wait." I suddenly said and then gasped, catching into Stanley's secret. "You have a brother!" I looked at him and he looked back up at me and nodded.

"Twin brother." He corrected and I looked back at the glowing circle-triangle thing and saw the timer above Stan that said '17:57:00'.

"Why didn't you tell us? What happened to him? Why is there a glowing circle? What do those symbols mean? Why are you so confusing!" I threw my hands up in the air and gave him a stern look.

"Everything will become clear soon, kid. You just have to trust me."

I looked at him and started heading towards the stairs. "Ok, Stan. You got yourself a secret." I zipped my lips and walked up the stairs, shaking.

"Thanks, Y/n." Stan called out after me.

What is going to happen to Gravity Falls?

•••

The next morning I was woken up by the sounds of something exploding. I nervously grabbed my sweatshirt off the floor and ran for the direction of the explosion.

When I neared the ladder that led to the roof I heard it coming from right above me. I stepped outside the hatch and saw Stan, Dipper, and Mabel, with big genuine smiles on their face.

It felt so good to see them all happy, even though we've all been through so much.

After Mabel explained to me how they came to find the fireworks I tried as much as possible to not make eye contact with Stan.

"But seriously though, we should clean this mess up." Stan said.

I looked down at the woods and saw that mostly everything was on fire and I laughed, proud of the damaged they done.

"With water balloons?" Dipper playfully asked, pointing at a cooler of water balloons.

I grew eager when I saw the cooler full of water balloons down below. I raced down before anyone else could and grabbed a whole bunch and ran behind a tree and when I saw Dipper and Mabel run out the doors I ambushed them.

After a long time of playing around and acting dumb we were almost out of water balloons.

"To Grunkle Stan! Not just a great uncle!" Mabel yelled and licked her popsicle. "But the greatest uncle!"

As I was about to throw a water balloon, I froze at how cheerful they were towards Stan.

What will happen to that bond when they find out he's been hiding a huge secret? What will happen when they find out I knew, but didn't tell them. This whole situation is making my stomach hurt. I know I should tell Dipper and Mabel, but I owe Stan this. He's done a lot for me.

I zoned back in when Stan started talking again. "Yeah. Plenty of summer left. Kids there's something I-uh...something I should tell you."

I looked him in the eyes and waited for him to confess.

"It's um...well...it's complicated. I-I'm gonna go refresh my soda."

Of course he didn't. Why did I even have hope he would? I should just tell them so they don't get mad at me in the future.

Just as everything was going fine and dandy, agents dressed in all black wearing heavy armor charged at the three of us and at least a dozen helicopters flew above us and I looked over to see agents breaking into the Shack and house with weapons.

I knew whatever Stan was doing could have been bad, but to go this far? I don't know...maybe it is? Oh no, I know things and that means I'm a witness. As long as I don't say anything about what I saw or heard last night, I'm going to be ok.

I joined the twins to see Stan being pushed against a police car with his head on the hood. When I thought things couldn't get worse, the two government agents from before that got taken by the zombies showed up.

One of the agents pulled out some security footage of someone in a toxic suit stealing 300 gallons of dangerous waste and he accused Stan.

"What? You think that's me?" Stan leaned forward in the agents face and grew serious but then the agent leaned into him and Stan backed up a bit looking a little nervous.

Stan? Nervous?

"Don't play dumb with us Pines."

"But-But I actually am dumb!" San retorted, trying to defend himself.

One of the other agents I didn't know started walking him off as Stan continued talking.

"Last night I was restocking the gift shop. I swear! Ask Y/n!"

I froze. Now I'm being dragged into this! I'm dead. They turned to us and I could feel my insides burning.

"Listen kids." One of the agents started, crouching down to our height. "We've been watching your family all summer and we've seen some disturbing things but nothing as dangerous as to what your uncle is hiding. Somewhere hidden in this Shack in a doomsday device!"

Mabel and Dipper looked at each other and I bit my lip, not making eye contact but quickly stopped because I realized how suspicious I might have looked.

"Trigger, you take the children." The agent talking to us directed his statement towards 'Trigger'. "I'll talk to the old man. Sorry to break it to you kids but you don't know your uncle at all."

As he walked away I stared daggers at him and mumbled under my breath. "Don't call me a kid or so help me-"

I was interrupted by the lighter haired agent who snapped his fingers and some other special ops looking guy took us inside a cop car, me being shoved in last and landing on Dipper for trying to get out of the agents grip.

I got up and looked over at Stan who was banging on the window. "Kids! You gotta believe me! For once I'm actually innocent! KIDS!" The truck he was in drove off and the car we were in followed.

We're in for it now.

•••

"I heard Stan say something about you knowing what he was doing last night. Care to explain?" I heard the agent talk to me, looking through the mirror but I kept looking out the mirror with my arms crossed showing no emotion towards the subject. "I said-"

Dipper cut the agent off for me. "Back off of her."

I didn't look at him to say thank you because I didn't want to blow my stern cover so instead I grabbed his hand.

I remembered the timer looking thing above Stan last night in his secret room. The clock was at 18 hrs and that was really late at night so that means that the timer should ends in...5 more hours! That's tonight! But what'll happen when it goes off? Is that glowing circle thing gonna activate again but do something worse instead of just reverse gravity? What if it actually harms us and I've known all along but didn't save us.

Right now we just need to focus on escaping the car and getting back to the Shack.

•••

We finally escaped out of the car and made it to the Shack and used Mabel's grappling hook to zip line into the attics window. We made it into the surveillance room undetected so I stood outside the door, making sure no one saw me, while the twins locked the door.

I saw two officers starting to make there way my way and I panicked. I can't stand in front of the door and make it look suspicious. I walked threw a hallway and stood as still as I could and waited for the officers to walk past but when I didn't hear footsteps I thought I was in the clear.

I peeked around to see them standing in front of the door getting ready to open it and I panicked again. Man, do I really have to sacrifice myself for this?

I stepped out from my hiding spot and faced the two.

"Hey, boys." I said cooly, crossing my arms.

"Hey what are you doing here!" They started to chase after me but I ran away from the door as far as I could and slowed down on purpose once I reached outside so they would forget about the door.

I saw the lighter haired agent get out of a car and once he saw me he ordered men to arrest me. Which they did.

I got into the police car and the lighter haired guy got into the drivers seat and deathly stared at me like he knew me from somewhere.

•••

We finally reached the police department and I was handcuffed to the chair with the darker haired agent in front of me and a guard by the door with a gun. Jeez, harsh.

The darker haired guy circled around me while I kept looking forward at the tinted window and once he was done he nodded to the guard who walked out of the room and disappeared.

I could tell someone was watching me from the other side of the window, I just didn't know who. Maybe Stan was here too? I mean, it would make sense that the same people who took him here took me here too.

"Y/n L/n. Am I correct?" I glanced at him, not turning my head and looked down at my hands. "I said, am I correct?"

Still looking straight forward, I nodded.

"You are a witness to the situation at hand and actions from earlier events in your life. Yes?"

I slowly dragged my eyes to his with a straight face, but I didn't say a word. I'm not planning on giving up my cover now. I'm not loosing anyone because I stole something, I'm supposed to be in the system, but it's not like I committed murder.

The agent continued. "If you don't cooperate I'm gonna have to appeal with force."

I gave him a look that said 'try me bitch' and his expression turned even more angry. He walked up beside me and put his head a couple inches away from mine, looking a bit more intimidating then before but I didn't let my confidence drop.

"What do you want?" I said harshly, twitching my eyes as I watched the agent's every move.

He backed up and sat in the chair across from me. "Stan Pines. Is he as innocent as he proclaims? Were you really with him last night?"

I nodded and kept staring at him with the same expression. I didn't know if he was innocent but I was with him last night.

He continued. "He's been filling your head with nonsense and you'll regret trusting him eventually."

I squinted my eyes and got defensive over my family. "No, I won't. No matter what Stan does I'll always be there for him. His niece and nephew are all that matters to me. I don't care if Stan is lying or not. Which he isn't."

Stan was doing this for his family, he has a brother to save. And I have a family to keep together.

"Is that why your parents left? Is that why you ran away? Is that why you stole things?" He raised his voice and got closer to the edge of his seat.

Shocked, I yelled back. "You do not get to talk about me like that! I had to do those things for survival! And I'm not giving up now!" I slammed my hand on the table on the word 'not' and the agent calmed down in his seat and crossed his arms while I sat there, heavily breathing from all the emotions I felt at this moment.

"So be it." I said in a challenging way, narrowing my eyes and clenching my jaw.

Everything changed to reverse gravity and the look on the agents face was priceless.

Within seconds, Stan came barging in and flew me out of the room, slamming the agent into the wall and just as we made it outside and closed the door, gravity went back to normal and when I fell, the chair broke. Stan uncuffed me and we ran to a taxi driver.

"Take this one hundred dollar bill and drive as far away from the mystery Shack as possible." Stan held out money to him.

The taxi driver took the one hundred dollars and sped off. A distraction! Good thinking Stanley.

He told me to follow him, so I did, and the next thing I knew I was following him through the woods and on our way back to the Shack. On his watch I saw that he had the timer with him and it had 3 min left. We better hurry.

•••

When I barged into the door leading into where Stan said 'the portal' was down in his secret room, I saw Dipper about to press a red button leading to the portal, probably the shut down button.

Stan yelled from behind me, "Don't touch that button!" He stuck out his hand and breathed out heavily and I stood there, not knowing what to do.

They all looked in our direction and Dipper narrowed his eyes when he saw me and he looked a little mad.

"Dipper just back away." Stan headed towards Dipper, who's hand was still hovering over the button. "Please don't press that shut down button. You gotta trust me."

I tried catching up with the group and I stopped a couple feet away from them.

"And I should trust you why?" Dipper took his hand away from the button and put it on his forehead looking stressed out. "After you stole radioactive waste! After you lied to us all summer! I don't even know who you are! And Y/n why are you with him? Did you know?"

I felt really bad for not telling him sooner and the look on his face and the tone of his voice made me want to cry.

"Look. I know this all seems nuts but I need that machine to stay on if you just let me explain." Stan started walking towards the group, my insides tightening up.

Dipper was leaning towards Stan with a deadly look on his face

"Please you have to believe him!" I walked closer to everyone else and held my hands out and put the best pleasing look I could muster up on my face and Dipper looked at me like I just threw a rock at his head. I really don't wanna be on opposite sides as him but Stan has worked on this a lot for his brother. Dipper would have done it too.

The ticking of the timer was heard above all of the tenseness and Stan yelled for everyone to brace themselves as the portal started lighting up in rainbow colors around the circle and a galaxy looking thing took over the whiteness of it. We all floated into the air in different directions.

"Dipper!" I yelled as I watched his terrified expression grow across his face. He looked at me hurtfully, but looked away and back at the portal. He grabbed onto a board on the wall and I landed on the ceiling while everyone else found a spot on the wall.

I heard Mabel yelling and when I looked I saw her caught on one of the wires that was hooked to the shut down button.

"Hurry, Mabel! Shut it down!" Dipper yelled from his position and I worriedly looked at Mabel.

"No you can't, Mabel! It's Stan, you have to have faith!" I lashed out and she looked up at me, then at Dipper, then to Stan and she crawled to the button getting ready to push it.

"No! Mabel! Mabel, wait!" Stan desperately shouted while pushing off of his spot on the wall and trying to air swim towards Mabel.

Out of no where Soos rammed into Stan, making him lose his course towards Mabel. I watched as they argued and then I saw Dipper kick off of the wall and headed for the two.

He tried pushing on Stans face and then yelled at Mabel. "Mabel press the red button! Shut it down!"

The three of them fought for awhile so I took a hard kick off of the ceiling and grabbed onto the wire Mabel was holding onto from before and made my way to Mabel and the button.

"No, you can't!" I heard Stan say but I didn't look at them.

I was holding onto the wire closest to Mabel as I lowered my voice so I wasn't yelling at her. "Mabel, look. Stan is a good man. Sure he's done things but he's done it for you guys. For him, family comes first and this portal is something very important to him. If you don't trust Stan right now then you have to at least trust me. Please, Mabel, we need you." I starred deep into her eyes, knowing that if she pressed that button, I would have failed keeping this family together.

She looked genuinely upset as she started forming tears of her own and we just starred at each other until we heard Dipper again.

"Y/n! What are you doing? How could you!"

I looked at him in shock and felt my eyes glossing over at the sound of those words coming out of
