Y/n's pov

Today was like any other day. We woke up, went to the Shack, and hung out. Only this time I was "working." Ha, never thought I'd say that.

Dipper was sitting by Mabel reading his journal, like always. Mabel was spinning around on the giant globe we had while Wendy and I stood leaning against the desk reading a magazine about some store being shut down awhile back by some murder.

"Soos, Wendy, Y/n." Grunkle Stan said entering the Shack in his mystery man outfit. Soos came running over and Wendy didn't look up from her magazine.

"Grunkle Stan." I said as I took a bow.

"I'm heading out, you three are going to wash the bathrooms right?"

"Yes sir." Soos said while saluting to Grunkle Stan.

"Absolutely not." Wendy copied Soos's actions.

I just turned and walked away.

Should I have asked for this job?

"Haha, stay out of trouble." Grunkle Stan chuckled, messing up my hair.

When Grunkle Stan was out of sight Wendy turned around and walked near the back of the store. "Hey guys. What's this? Secret ladder to the roof?" She walked over to this curtain and revealed a latter.

I like you even more now Wendy.

"A new secret hiding place from Grunkle Stan? Count me in." Iļø smirked. Dipper joined my side.

"Uh I don't think Mr. Pines would like that." Soos said, hanging his head down and avoiding eye contact.

"Uh." Wendy poked his stomach.

Soos leaned back, confused. "Uh"

"Uh"

"Your freaking me out dude!" Soos exclaimed as he pointed at Wendy accusingly.

Poor Soos I feel like he gets picked on all the time. He's lucky to have Wendy as a friend-employee.

"Can we actually go up there?" Dipper asked, his voice cracking a bit which made me laugh.

Wendy was already up the ladder. "Sure we can. Roof time! Roof time!" She started cheering.

"Roof time. Roof time!" Me, Dip, and Mabel joined as we started up the ladder. Soos stayed behind though, he needs to learn to let loose sometimes, Grunkle Stan isn't even here.

Iļø have to admit this is cooler than I thought. "Wow, cool. Did you put all this stuff up here?" Mabel asked, opening and closing the cooler lid for the fun of it.

There sat a red and white umbrella chilling over a chair with a cooler next to it and a bucket full of pinecones. Out in the totem pool I saw a target taped to one of the heads.

"I may or may not sneak up here during work, all the time everyday." Wendy said, picking up a pinecone and threw it at the target which landed right in the bullseye, which I copied but over threw it and hit the head above it. Mabel missed by a mile and Dipper hit a car, nice shot.

After that I just sat on the edge of the roof with my feet dangling over the sides and when I turned I saw love struck Dipper high five Wendy and he blushed terribly, I couldn't help but laugh and feel that stupid feeling in my stomach again. It's just because I'm dangling off of a building that's all. The... nerves. Iļø guess.

"Oh hey it's my friends!" Wendy excitedly yelled and pointed down to the driveway.

A car pulled up and someone yelled up at her, "Wendy!"

She jumped off the roof and onto a tree and then another one until she reached the ground and went with her friends who then drove away quickly.

Still blushing, Dipper yelled after the car, "Later Wendy!"

"Uh oh." I fake smiled at him and nudged his shoulder with mine.

"What?" His voice cracked yet again.

Does he really think we are stupid.

Don't answer that.

Mabel catching onto my plan said, "Somebody is in loOOve!"

I wouldn't call it love..

"Yeah right. I just think Wendy is cool, ok? It's not like I lay awake at night thinking about her!"  Dipper said as he gestured his hands in front of him.

I chuckled. "Ohhh. That's why your always staring at the ceiling and smiling, I thought it was because you were possessed or something. Dip you really are in love haha."

Hilarious.

Why am I still laughing.

Dippers POV

"Random dance party!"

Mabel and Wendy were by the cash register, the usual spot and I was off in the side with a clip board watching Wendy dance and writing, 'I am pretending to write something down' and gave a nod but heard a raspy giggle from behind me.

There stood Y/n with her h/c hair down and her usual pjs. She was always adorable in the morning but Wendy was also adorable dancing. I just shushed Y/n and turned to Wendy and Mabel.

"Dipper! Y/n!" Hearing my name made me jump and I threw my clipboard but caught it and threw it behind my back. "Aren't you gonna get in on this?"

Oh crap, dance? With Wendy?

I walked over to them with Y/n trailing behind me. "I don't really, uh, dance"

"Yeah you do! Mom used to dress him up in a lamb costume and make him do...the lamby dance." Mabel excitedly giggled.

I forgot about the lamby dance! Please don't bring out a picture of it, I'm embarrassing enough as it is.

"Now is not the time to talk about the lamby dance." I huffed out.

Then Y/n finally spoke up, "Lamb costume?-"

Then Wendy continued her sentence, "Wow, was there little ears and a tail or..?" Then she leaned closer to me.

I started "Well uh-"

Mabel nudged me. "Dipper would prance around and sing a song, aha."

I looked at Mabel, blushing, zipped my lips so she would shut it but didn't get the gist and when Wendy turned at the sound of the clock and I immediately smiled and pretended nothing happened.

"Quitting time. Gangs waiting for me." She half smiled.

"Hey wait! Maybe I could- or we could come with you?" I squeaked out.

"Oh I don't know, my friends are pretty intense. How old did you guys say you are?"

She doesn't even remember our age?

"13." Y/n, Mabel, and I said in unison.

"Alright I like your moxy kids, let me get my stuff." Wendy said as she turned on her heels.

I turned to look at Y/n because I know how much she hated being called a kid, she was basically falling asleep with her head in her hands leaning on the desk so I didn't think she heard.

"This is our chance to hang out with, ya know, the cool kids, and Wendy or whatever." I rubbed the back of my neck.

Y/n picked her head up at those words and chuckled, "I knew it haha."

Not this again.

"You love her! Love love love love!" Mabel chanted.

"Oh hey what's that?" I asked, pointing at the blank wall.

"Huh?" She turned to look where I was pointing and I flipped her hair over her head and into her face with a smirk.

"I'm going to get ready." Y/n said with a yawn.

(Time skip to outside the fence of 'Dusk2Dawn)

"There it is fellas. The condemned 'Dusk2Dawn'."

Everyone woahed in response, except for Y/n who didn't looked amused at all.

I gulped as I looked at the torn apart and trashed store. "W-Why did they shut it down? Was it like a health code violation or..?"

"Try murder." Said some guy with a hat.

I didn't really bother with their names.

"Some folks died in there. It's been haunted ever since." The blonde one interfered.

"This town has such gullible history." Mabel shrugged. At least she was being her loud self, how is someone so reckless like Mabel. She needs to teach me her ways.

"What? A-Are you guys serious?" I stammered out.

"Yeah we're all gonna die!" Wendy half heartedly said. "Chill out, man. It's not as bad as it looks."

Throughout the night I just now realized how quiet Y/n was being tonight. Did she want to be here or did something happen? Ever since this morning she's been acting weirder than usual.

I shook it off and took it that she was tired.

Robbie couldn't open the door so I suggested I tried, he's been trying to act like he's better than me since he first laid eyes on me.

"Oh I can't get in but I'm sure junior here is going to break it down like Hercules." Robbie said with a roll if his eyes.

"Come on, leave him alone." Y/n finally decided to speak.

She seems to be good at sticking up for me, I need to do that for her more often.

Wendy added after, "He's just a little kid."

Oh great. Is that all I am to her? Am I even her friend?

I tugged on my hat and marched towards the side of the store, crawled up onto the garbage, and pulled myself onto the roof. I broke through the vent and dropped down into the store and opened the door from the inside.

"Good call inviting this dude, your new name is Doctor Fun Times." The man with the hat complimented.

Wendy just walked by without a word.

"Good moves Dip." Y/n said with a wink.

I followed after them, quickly leaving the door open.

"Do you really think it's haunted in here?" I piped up.

"Nah." The blonde dude asked.

Anything is possible. I mean at least I left the door op- who closed the door? I swore I was the last person inside.

There was dust everywhere, it was even more creepier on the inside than I thought it would be.

Wendy found a light switch and flipped it on.

"Jackpot." Y/n was standing off into one of the aisles but peered around the corner once the lights turned on. "What do we do now?"

"Anything we want." Wendy mischievously smiled.

Then we all gave each other nods and started picking up any food we could find. The blonde guy lifted me up on his shoulders and Wendy lifted Y/n on her shoulders effortlessly.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" The crowd around us cheered.

Y/n chuckled.

Blondie and I started walking towards the other two.

"Listen N/n I'm not going easy on you, ok?" I said to Y/n with a small smile.

I wanted to win and show all these cool kids I'm cool.

"Wasn't planning on it." She said with a smirk and a winked and leant down to whisper something into Wendy's ear.

"Three. Two. One... GO!"

We charged at them and then just as soon as we were gonna crash into them, Wendy stepped out of the way and we went falling into one of the isles and knocked it over along with ourselves.

"Hey what was that?" I asked while holding a spot on my head.

"You said that you weren't going to go easy on us. What happened? Did you loose your balance or were me and Wendy too good for ya?" Y/n replied still sitting on Wendy's shoulders and gave each other a fist bump.

"No." I mumbled, getting u. This was embarrassing so I walked away and sat up on one of the isles then Wendy joined me soon after.

"Dipper this night has been like.. legendary."

I looked over at her with my eyebrows raised. "Really?"

She tilted her head back and looked in the direction of the rest of the crowd. "Totally. Just look around! Guys are bonding with Y/n."

I looked over and saw that guy with the hat with Robbie and Y/n pouring ice into Thompsons pants.

Wendy continued, "I've never even seen Tamry look up from her phone this long. And your sister has been going crazy for that smile dip."

There laid Mabel on the ground with sparkley sugar flowing out of her mouth. Rabies much?

"Ya know Dipper, I wasn't sure if you could hang with our crew at first but your surprisingly mature for your age."

I like where this is going...

I nodded. "Yes. Yes I am." Then I tried putting the ice cream into my mouth but missed and hit the side of my head.

Real mature Dipper.

"Sup dorks." I turned around to see Y/n climbing up onto the aisle with me and Wendy. Now this moment has been ruined even more. But I'm pretty sure Wendy favorites Y/n now so I shouldn't be complaining too much.

Wendy welcomingly smiled at her. "Hey Y/n. I was just talking to Dipper about how cool you guys are. It's a good thing I agreed to hang out with you more often."

Wait they agreed to what?

"Oh yeah, sorry about skating away before... it's just something important came up."

What important thing? Is she talking about the night me and Gideon... 'fought?'

"Oh no problem. But your skateboard is super cool. Mind if I borrow it sometime?" Wendy asked.

Y/n does what?

"Oh. Yeah, yeah, of cou-"

I leaned towards the two more to engage myself in the conversation. "You skateboard?" Whoops did I just cut her off? Oh well.

"Yes I do. I've told you this before Dip." Y/n half smiled while turning towards me.

She has? Then it hit me, I've been totally oblivious to Y/n throughout this whole day trying to become friends with the cool kids, I forgot about my own. That's probably why she's been quiet.

"Hey guys we need more ice!" Thompson yelled from below. I intently watched Y/n as her eyes drifted down to the dudes, then to the ice aisle below us, and then she face palmed.

I feel bad.

"Oh yeah right. That's what I came up here to tell you guys, haha, I forgot. My bad!" She yelled down at the rest of the gang but her voices cracked and I laughed but quickly covered up my mouth.

"What's so funny, Dip? Don't tempt me to push you off of this." She smirked.

"No, no- uh, guys look they need more ice!" Then I crawled away from Wendy and Y/n and hopped down and went to get ice.

I opened the door to the freezer which I don't know why is still working since this place is shut down but when I turned to walk away I noticed a floating brain with...eyes and a...mouth!?

I quickly closed the door shut but when I reopened the door with shaky hands it was... g-gone? How in the?

"What was that? I thought I heard some lady screaming." Wendy said, coming around the aisle.

Here comes the rest of the group, wait, lady scream? I'm not a girl!

"You freaking out kid?"  The brunette teasingly asked me.

Stay calm, Dipper. Be smooth. "Uh, no. No! I'm cool. Everything's cool."

"Then what's all this about?" Robbie pointed at the spilt bad of ice.

I can't tell them or else Wendy is going to think I'm some little kid and not a mature 13 year old.

"Oh that's uh-uh-uh-hey look!" I yelled and pointed towards Dancy Pants Revolution.

Everyone completely ignored the fact what I did and ran over towards it. Everyone except Y/n.

"What happened?" She walked towards me and whispered so the others wouldn't hear, at least she understood.

"Uh, w-what do you mean?" I started getting nervous. I don't wanna lie to her.

"I mean, why did you scream and why is this on the ground." She pointed to the bag of ice scattered on the ground.

"I tripped." I quickly answered but knew she wouldn't believe me.

"C'mon Dip, you can tell me. It's not like I'm gonna tell everyone else."

"Fair point." I shrugged "Ok, just don't freak out or make fun of me or do anything that the others would do."

I knew she wouldn't but I wanted to clarify.

"It's me we're talking about I would never do that." Then she forced a smile and it was so unconvincing that I just had to give her that 'really' look. "Ok. Sure. Maybe that sounds like me but just get on with your story."

So I explained to her what happened and after she just pounded me in the shoulder and said she believed me so I gave her a smile and we walked towards Dancy Pants Revolution together.

After about 30 min of watching Thompson play I finally noticed the window beside me. I looked through it and could see our reflection, only it wasn't a reflection, it was us as skeletons. It's either I'm being paranoid or I'm going crazy. Either way would be better than what I just saw.

"I'll be right back." I went to call Grunkle Stan because I was ready for this night to be over nor me or Y/n could drive and Mabel was too hung up on her candy.

I went to go see Mabel instead maybe she had an idea. "Mabel I need your advice. We are hanging out in a haunted convenient store, I can't get a hold of Grunkle Stan, and if I try to say it to any of these guys they will just think I'm a scared little kid or something." I looked at Mabel and saw her starring at the floor with wide eyes. "Mabel?"

No answer.

Why didn't I go talk to Y/n in the first place, she might have good advice.

"Wow guys! You might wanna see this!" The shout came from Robbie who was standing by the desk looking at something behind it, it turned out to be what looked like bodies that were outlined by tape. Probably the owners of this place who died. I looked at Y/n to find her sitting on the counter drinking a (favorite drink) with a 'not amused' expression on her face while taking a sip and staring at the tape.

On the outside I was chill on the inside I was having a panic attack. Maybe this place really is haunted.

"Wow the rumors are true." The blonde dude said.

"Cool." Y/n answered with a smirk.

"Dude, dare you to lie down in it." Robbie suggested, his eyes not leaving the tape.

"Good idea."

"Wait maybe let's not do that." My nerves took over.

"This guy is scaaared." The brunette dude said in a sing song tone.

"All I'm saying is why tempt the fates I mean w-what if this place.. really is... haunted?" I shouldn't have done that. Should not, have done that.

"Boo."

"Come on."

"Boo." Everyone made fun of me as expected but Y/n just sat there still slurping her stupid drink. Now why wasn't she backing me up?

The blonde rolled his eyes. "Eh, just take it down a notch captain buzzkill."

Buzzkill?

"But I thought I was Doctor Fun Times?"

Good job Dipper you should've just kept quiet.

"Well now your acting like Captain Buzzkill. Right?" Everyone nodded except Wendy and Y/n. I thought Wendy was on my side until she said, "Yeah. Little bit."

"Status update. Trapped in a store with a an insane 9 year old."

I'm not a little kid. I'll show them. Walking backwards into the tape I said, "I am not a 9 your old!" And laid down with my back on the ground with my arms stretched out inside of the tape. "I'm 13. Technically a teen!" Then a green light started tracing the tape and once it completely fitted the persons shape all the lights turned off and Tamry disappeared, her phone falling to the ground.

I ran over and grabbed it. Then she appeared on the television in front of us in black and white. I was right all along!

"What are we supposed to do?" I shouted out in a panic.

"I don't know man!"

"Let's just go already!"

"Thompson!" Wendy yelled in the direction of the other side of the store.

He was still playing his game, totally oblivious to what was happening. Just then he vanished and reappeared into the game.

Oh no not again. What if Y/n disappears too?! It would be all my fault.

"Forget him! Let's go!" Robbie yelled, motioning for us to run for the exit.

Wait where did Y/n go?

Then the door slammed shut and just taking a guess we were now locked in. Maybe I could find something to help us in my journal?

"Everyone wait, whatever is doing this it has to have some kind of reason. Maybe if we could just figure out what it is then they'll let us out of here." I suggested, reaching for the journal.

"Uh, they'll let us out of here! Yeah that makes a lot of sense." Of course Robbie had to doubt me.

"I don't know guys. Maybe he's got a point." Wendy added.

"Yeah right. I'm sure the ghost just wants to talk about his feelings." Robbie sarcastically answered with a
