"YOU WHAT!?" shouted Cole in disbelief.

"yes, look!" Jay said, making the gesture with his hand to come, but still looking at the scroll

"What's written?" Cole asked as soon as he took his first look at the ancient paper.

"mh.. I can't understand what's written on it.." Jay said while it was audible the enthusiasm slowly fade away

Cole took a further look at the scroll

he also taken in hand to understand the words, but they were too tiny to be able to understand them

while Cole laid the scroll gently on the table, he noticed his best friend using his phone

he was frenetic in his movements, and especially when he was typing

"What are you doing?" Cole asked

"I'm looking for the language of these writings" Jay replied as he was very focused on his research

there was a few seconds of silence, and Cole in the meantime could hear the voices of the people outside the monastery, and he thought how stupid it was what they were doing and that instead they should be there, with the others

"FOUND IT" Jay shouted blowing up the black ninja

Cole turned his head and looked at Jay for answers

"well.. what did you find?"

"this site says that this language is greek, comes from the oldest masters of the elements" Jay said making a break to then remain astonished by the continual "very commonly used among lightning masters" he ended looking at the scroll from under his phone

"Fantastic!" but how does it work? is there any way to be able to read it?" Cole asked looking at Jay's phone

"I think there's a way that makes you see word pronunciations through the picture taken" Jay said before he clicked a small icon in the screen that represented a camera

noticing their feet through the camera that showed the screen, he hastened and made the photo to the scroll

while they waited for a result, the blue ninja put the phone in the table, and then he went away consecutively and walked back and forth

instead Cole sat over the table, alongside Jay's phone, and waited also him with anxiety as he watched Jay walk all over the room

a few seconds after, both have heard a sound coming from the phone

Jay went straight to the table, and Cole simply looked down

he immediately picked up his phone and watched it with excitement before and after reading "completed" in the screen

"IT'S FINISHED!" Jay said not controlling the agitation

"READ IT!" Cole said with the same enthusiasm as Jay

Jay briefly looked at the written half confused, but then he understood

"ok, I think I'm ready... then.. let's start!" Jay sighed

"c'mon buddy, you can do it" Cole said offering him a confident smile

Jay has reciproced the smile and then started reading

while reading, his eyes began to light up and become whiter and whiter, thus causing Cole to worry

"JAY STOP!" Cole shouted while he had his eyes wide open

"Cole.. w-why did you stop me?" Jay asked while now his eyes was normal again

"jay you- Your eyes.. your irises were- oh no.. " Cole said looking at the body of Jay shocked

Jay felt heavy and stunned

he looked at his own body but he didn't notice anything different

then Cole approached to him and raised the sleeves of his jacket, he was even more shocked now

the veins of Jay had remained quite protruding and the skin above it seemed like he'd been burned

after seeing his arms, Jay opened his eyes wide

but he didn't seem scary or worried

indeed

it was working, and he was excited about it

until Cole spoke

"forget it, I won't let you do it after I've seen you practically in ashes" Cole said with a suddenly severe tone

after hearing those sentences he looked at cole confused

"what.. you.. you were helping me.." Jay said as he squeezed his eyes disappointed

"but why?" it was working!" Jay said

"I'm sorry, but I don't want you hurt.. you'll have to find another way to bring Nya back here" Cole said turning his back on Jay and starting to walk back out

"w-what? Cole? are you serious!?" Jay said infuriating more and more

"yes" he said continuing to walk

"fuck it" Jay whispered

he looked for a few second cole incredulous

he put his phone into the pocket of the tuxedo pants, and then took the scroll and tight hold

"I'll do it myself" Jay said not really interested if he had heard it

but cole heard what he said loud and clear

he quickly turned to face Jay but he didn't find him

he then turned to the door and saw Jay run outward

"is at times like these that i wish you weren't the master of lightning" Cole said while he was chasing him

he put his arm forward trying to catch him from the jacket collar, but he missed him at the last

Jay managed to escape, suddenly frightening the people who was there

instead the reporters who were present had taken their cameras , and ready, they were recording the frenetic blue ninja

He briefly watched the camcorders that framed him and then the citizens who blocked the stairs completely, preventing his escape

Jay felt Cole's footsteps closer and closer, and he had to make a decision now

"JAY NO!"

at the right time when Cole had arrived out, Jay had already escaped jumping from the monastery wall

"goddammit!" Cole said as he folded and put his hands on his knees to try to catch his breath

"Cole what happened!?" wu asked as they approached to the master of earth worried

"and why did Jay run away?" Zane asked for all

"he- he- the scroll- nya-" Cole was trying to explain, but the no breath wouldn't let him talk

all were pretty confused

"scroll? and what does Nya have to do this?" Kai asked really worried

"scroll.." wu reflected while trying to complete the story with the few clues

all had eyes pointed on wu, both Maya, Ray, Ed and Edna, including cameras

"The scroll!" wu realized

"JAY WANTS TO GET NYA BACK" Cole has finally said
