"doesn't mean much when you go and die yourself," nobara sighed as her and megumi sat down on some of the stone steps leading to their classroom

"is it your first time having a partner die?" the girl asked her other classmate who wore the same glum expression as her

"First time for one my age" Megumi answered

"You seem to be taking it well considering," Nobara muttered

"Kugisaki, how are you taking it?" Megumi asked turning to the girl, her mournful expression telling him everything he needed to know

"Of course. I only knew him for two weeks, I'm not the kind of girl who breaks down balling when a guy i barely know dies" she said but megumi could see her lips quivering

"What's this? You're looking more glum than usual, Megumi" Maki said, placing her hands on her hips

"Zenin," Megumi said

"Don't call me by my last name!" the girl retorted as someone whispered her name making her turn around

"Maki! Maki!" Panda said

"I'm talking here!" maki snapped

"You actually don't know why they're down??" Panda whispered as Toge stood by him

"What do you mean?" she said plainly

"Someone really did die yesterday! One of the first year boys!" The panda said "Bonito flakes" The other boy said leaving Maki with a mortified expression

"You should've told me sooner! Now I look like some heartless demon!" she cried

"That's exactly how you came off." the panda said

"Tuna mayo," the other boy said

"You're supposed to try and make me feel better!" maki wailed, a familiar voice causing her to pause

"Makiiii" Mayumi spoke

"Yumi!"

"I haven't seen you since you left the clan last year, I've been so worried about my favourite relative"

"Yuuumi!!" Maki smiled, Mayumi running towards her and giving the older zenin a hug

"What the hell are you doing at jujutsu tech?" Maki questioned

"I had a fight with the old man, and eventually he allowed me to"

"You're such a copy cat!" Maki grinned, lightly punching Mayumis arm

"Who are those guys?" nobara questioned 

"Our second-year upperclassmen," Megumi answered

"Zenin is the best of all the students at wielding cursed tools." Megumi said pointing to the girl with glasses

"That's the cursed speech user Inumaki, he can only speak in rice ball ingredients," Megumi said talking about the boy with light hair

"And panda"

"There's one more, okkotsu, who's the only one I genuinely respect" He mumbled before getting up "But he's overseas right now"

"You gonna elaborate on the panda called panda? Or is he just you know, a panda" Nobara blinked

"The truth is we'd like for you all to participate in the Kyoto sister school exchange event." Panda said with a meek smile

"Kyoto sister school exchange event?" Nobara repeated, "what's that?"

"It's a get-together with the other tech school in Kyoto" Megumi answered

"Isn't that event mainly second and third years?" Mayumi questioned

"Yeah and those stupid third-years are suspended right now so you need to participate" Maki said

"What do you do at this event? Smash bros? I won't lose if it's the wii version. I'll meteor smash so you can't come back" Nobara said confidently

"Then let's make a 3-man team" panda said

"The exchange event has the principals of the Tokyo and Kyoto schools, each proposing a form of competition to be held for an entire day over the course of two days. Though that's just how it is on paper. Every year the first day is team battles and the second day is individual battles" 

"Salmon," Inumaki said

"Individual and team battles? We fight?! Against other jujutsu sorcerers?!" nobara said

"Yeah, it's a jujutsu battle where anything but killing goes" Maki smiled

"We'll train you up well so you won't get killed" panda said punching the air

"Do you have time for that? We're short on jujutsu sorcerers" Megumi spoke up

"That's a good question. For now, we are, the glum emotions people harbour from late winter through spring cause an outbreak of curses in the early summer so thats our busy season" panda explained

"Sometimes we're busy all year round but things should be settling down soon." maki said

"Youre in right? You just had a partner die on you, after all," Maki said with a smile

"We're  in"

"But if I decide this training and exchange event is pointless, I'm quitting instantly" Nobara yawned as Megumi nodded

"Well people this cocky are all the more worthwhile to train" panda said with his arms crossed

"Bonito flakes"

"No! I won't let you use me as a training tool!" Nobara screeched as she ran away from panda, the bear slowly turing his head in mayumis direction

"Don't you dare" she said staring into his eyes as she drew her blade

"Scary.." panda sulked as he continued running after nobara

"Where's Megumi?" Maki questioned

"He said he had to do something" Mayumi answered as the sound of footsteps could be heard megumi making his way down the stone steps

"You're late megumi" Mayumi scoffed as she brought a had to her hip

"Kelp" inumaki said

"What's it to you?" Megumi replied zipping up his jacket

"Whyd you have to be so sassy" Mayumi huffed, whacking him over the head

"Maki what type of people do you hope to save as a jujutsu sorcerer?" Megumi asked

"Huh? Why should I care whether or not my actions save others?" Maki questioned

"Mayumi! Save me!" Nobara screamed as panda swung her around, inumaki waiting to catch her

"I knew I shouldn't have asked you" megumi sighed
"Huh??" Maki said

"Fushiguro! Stop asking interview prep questions and switch with me!" Nobara screamed as panda flung her.

"I'm sick of these school uniforms! I want cute tracksuits!" Nobara yelled

"What the hell are you guys doing anyways?" Megumi  questioned

"Falling practice" panda smiled with a thumbs up

"You guys aren't that skilled close quarters anyways, minus Yumi" Maki said earning a hapoy hum from her niece

"The exchange event is in a month and a half's time! We don't have time to mess around!" Maki yelled

"Students of all grades!!!" Gojo yelled, catching the group's attention

"Oh actually only Mayumi needs to hear this" he grinned, Mayumi giving him a confused look

"You have a super important mission to go on!! But you'll be going with a supervisor" he grinned

"A supervisor?" Mayumi repeated, a tall man with meat blonde hair and a business attire walking towards the feild

"Grade one sourcerer nanami!" Mayumi smiled, a look of pure joy and admiration evident on her face

"Morning Mayumi" the blonde smiled, something that Mayumi returned, always happy to see her responsible senior

"Nanami am I going on a mission with you?" She asked, dropping her weapon and running towards him

"She didn't even say goodbye" megumi deadpanned

"It's nanami, of course her attentions gonna be on him" Maki shrugged
