I headed to the kitchen taking out things to cook and I played back the last few days in my head. The night I met Scarlett, well, it happened pretty fast. It was something unexpected. I didn't expect to leave with her, but boy am I glad I did.

𝐅ðĨðšðŽðĄð›ðšðœðĪ...

I hate parties with rich snobby people, of course they aren't all like that but, a good portion of them are. Yet, here I was, at a party with rich snobby people. For the most part, I didn't have to interact with anyone because I'm only here as a plus one and the person I came with is just here to network and take pictures of the event.

The room was filled with actors and actresses, ranging from newbies that just got their big break and the well known A-listers that we hear about far too often for making a dumb comment, flipping off paparazzi, or landing some big new role in a movie.

My best friend Naomi had a job to do, taking pictures and videos of the event so it's not like I could just tag along with her the whole time. Don't get me wrong, I'm a party girl, I'm 19 so, of course I like to be out and in the mix of all the festivities like most people my age, but, not a scene like this.

Most of the parties I'm into, well, they involve a lot more drunks and less elegance than what I'm surrounded by right now. I made my way to the bar and asked for a drink earning a look from the bartender who proceeded to ask me for my ID. "Dude, come on-"

"I can't serve you alcohol without an ID, and you don't look 21."

I reached into my back pocket pulling out my wallet and the fake ID I had made back in high school. The bartender gave me a look before turning back to grab a glass to pour me a drink.

"A fake ID, wow, that desperate for a drink?" I turn my head to hear the voice of a woman. She had blonde hair and her voice was really hot. She turned her head to face me and I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Pft, it's not a fake ID." I lied as she stuck her hand out gesturing for the card which I handed over. "Y/n Huxley, cute name."

"Just my name is cute? Ms. Johansson, I'd prefer it if you would call me cute instead."

"You're not my type." She giggled as she took a sip of the drink in her hand. "You sure about that? I'd like to think I'm adaptable and fit the mold of everyones preferences. I'm sure you'd say otherwise if you gave me the chance to show you what I can do."

She smiled to herself and stared straight ahead trying not to make eye contact with me. "You're confident, how old are you really? 16? How'd you even get in here?" She quickly changed the subject making me smile. Hard to get, right up my alley.

"I'm old enough to be out past 10 o'clock. I'm a guest."

"Do you work here?" Scarlett asked. "No but my friend is taking pictures here, can we turn back to where you said I'm not your type?"

"I don't think that's relevant, shouldn't you be taking pictures with your friend?" Scarlett gestured over to my best friend Naomi. "Shouldn't you be interacting with your colleagues? I don't take pictures, the camera isn't my thing, I play ball."

"You play with your balls?" Scarlett jokes making the bartender chuckle. "Whoa, did you just assume I have a penis?" Scarlett's facial expression shifted, assuming she'd insulted me. "No I-"

"Am I showing or something? How'd you know?" She raised her eyebrow at me as she looked surprised as she tried to hide her smile. "So, why aren't you mingling over there with your fellow stars?"

"This isn't where I wanted to be tonight but, I had to show my face."

"Well, that makes two of us. This isn't where I wanted to spend my last weekend here." I admitted. "Last weekend? Are you a felon on the run?" Scarlett joked. "No, other than playing with my balls, I play football, just landed a deal in England so I'm leaving Sunday night."

She nodded before turning back to me. "Well, I'd hate to spend my last weekend in a party with a bunch of rich stuck up money hungry men and women."

I let a smirk ride on my lips, "Let me take you home then, I don't think either of us should waste any more time here." Scarlett looked in my eyes before shaking her head "You're a kid."

I leaned down to whisper in her ear. "Trust me, you won't say that later. Let's get out of here." Scarlett crossed her legs before looking back up at me, her eyes darkened and fell to my lips. I could tell she was weighing her options.

Without another word, she grabbed her bag and nodded her head towards the door as I followed behind her.

I woke up the next morning with her head on my chest. I smiled to myself recounting the memories of last night. The only thing I have to say is, Scarlett, she's a freak. I slid out of her bed, carefully, trying not to disturb her sleep. I went to the bathroom to do my morning routine before heading into the kitchen to find something to make her some breakfast.

"This smells amazing." She said as she looked over everything I started setting up on the island. "I wanted to make you breakfast in bed but, you're up earlier than I expected." I pouted. "We can use the bed for something else." Scarlett smirked. I made Scarlett a plate and sat beside her as I watched her in adoration.

"You know, you're the first person I've slept with that wasn't gone by the time I woke up. They all claim they had a reputation they didn't want to taint." She says.

"Well, with you giving me a proper send off to England, I think it's the least I can do to return the favor. Plus, it's not often I get to wake up next to someone as beautiful and as talented as you. I'm soaking everything in while I can."

"I think you returned the favor enough last night." Scarlett smirked. I popped a berry into my mouth as I looked her over. "You're not at all what I expected."

"What'd you expect? A billion dollar mansion, a chef in my kitchen, a maid in my home?"

"Yeah the whole shabang, you offer more than what meets the eye, it'd be nice to get to know you, you know, with your clothes on." Scarlett's laugh brought a smile to my face before she spoke again. "I don't do long distance but, if you were staying here, there might've been something to talk about."

"I don't do long distance either, so, thank you, I think I'll thoroughly enjoy my flight to England, you know, since I had a proper send off."

"I have a few more hours before I have to get a move on." I smiled at her words before connecting our lips. "No strings attached." I mumbled as I carried her to her room and closed the door.

I remembered that day like it was yesterday. I felt there could've been something to develop there with Scarlett. Like I said, she was different, I couldn't put my finger on it but, something just made me want to be close to her.

We had an instant connection from what it seemed at that party. I don't know if it was just me but, I wanted to explore her more but I knew it was nothing more than a one night stand.

It wasn't even a year later when the most surprising thing happened. Scarlett began dating my dad, they got engaged and married rather quickly after, and even have a son.

I'm sure she initially had no clue we're related seeing as I take after my mom when it comes to looks, I doubt my dad talks about me often, and I have my mothers maiden name. There's no dots to connect unless you take a deep dive into learning who Colin Jost is.

But hey, they're happy, that was 5 years ago, its ancient history. I've moved on. I looked at the time and realized I had to go.

After spending the past 5 years playing the sport I love in England, I knew it was time for me to go home, to go back to LA. I just signed a multi-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels Football team so, to new beginnings.

The only problem is, my dad wants me to meet his wife and my little brother, what's the worst thing that could happen?
