Y/n and Rui were known at school to be the "weird kids". Despite the names they were called and the bullying they faced, they were both really good friends.

Though, Y/n has had a crush on Rui for 2 months now but they don't know how to tell him.

ᴛʜᴜʀꜱᴅᴀʏ
Y/n was walking through the hall, trying their best not to be spotted by anyone.

They successfully made it to the rooftop without being seen, when they arrived, they saw Rui waiting for them! but he was standing with someone else..?

'maybe next time' y/n thought as they sighed and approached Rui, and the 'unknown' figure.

"Hey Rui, who's this?" I asked. "Oh Y/n! Meet Yami! One of my childhood friends that moved away and is just returning!" Rui replied. The so called 'Yami' just eyed me, probably waiting for a greeting. "Hello Yami." I said bluntly.

"Hi. Anyways! Rui, where were we? Oh yes! Then she ran out the classro....

Everything suddenly went silent.

I couldn't hear anything at all.

The thoughts of Rui being with my childhood bully consuming me entirely.

What if he ends up-

"Y/n?! Are you okay??" Rui asked with a concerned look on his face while moving his hand in front of my face.

"Oh, sorry, I uhm, didn't get much sleep, haha, I was finishing up writing some song lyrics last night" I said while scratching my head.

"Ok but try to get more sleep tonight, you have a live performance next Tuesday!" He exclaimed.

"You're still coming right??" I ask waiting for his usual response of 'Fufu of course I am! What kind of friend would I be to not attend?' but not this time..

"I'm sorry Y/n, I won't be able to make it this time, I'm gonna be hanging out with Yami. I'll be sure to go with you next time..!" He said.

That completely broke my heart.

am i..being replaced..?

He said he'd always be there with me?

You know, maybe I'm just overreacting..right.?

"Y/n, I'm sure he just wants to..hang out with his old friend you know..!" Mizuki's voice rang from my phone.
"Before you know it, everything will be back to normal..! i hope.." They added.

I sighed and checked the time,

7:00 PM (19:00)

'oh I haven't eaten yet..'

"Mizuki, I'm gonna go eat and then work on some things for my performance on Tuesday. I'll talk to you tomorrow! ..Also, thanks for trying to cheer me up." I said. They smiled and said "Anytime Y/n! Goodbye!"

I hanged up the phone and sat down at my desk, opening my laptop and looking for a certain file.

I clicked on the Untitled File.

The room started glowing white, as per usual, I am greeted by Miku.

"Hello Y/n! Welcome back to the disorientated sekai" said the Turquoise haired, dressed in black and grey.

"Hi Miku..! Are the others here??" I ask

"I think only Chizuki and Hanako are here right now, but what's wrong? You seem upset."

"I'll be fine Miku, don't worry about it!" I said while fake smiling.

After getting the HardDrive from Chizuki and Hanako, I left the sekai and was teleported back to my bedroom.

I plugged the harddrive into my computer and got to work ignoring the painful feeling of hunger in my stomach.

ꜰʀɪᴅᴀʏ
I went up to the roof to see Rui! ..Talking with Yami. Again.

'Ugh, I'm just gonna leave' I thought before I heard,

"Hey Y/n! Over here!" Rui exclaimed.

I ignored him and walked back inside, closing the door behind me.

Rui had a confused look on his face as he walked towards the door but he felt something pull his hand, Yami. "Rui I think you should give them space." she said trying her best to convince him. After a while, she finally got Rui to stay with her.

I was walking through the school hallways, trying not to tear up. "Y/n! Wait up!" a familiar voice called.

"Oh hey Mizuki.." I say trying to hold back tears. "Y/n, Did something happen..?" They ask. I reply, saying, "Don't worry about it Mizuki." I couldn't hold the tears in anymore. I started crying as Mizuki rubs my back, "Let it all out Y/n, I'll be here for you"

( I would fall for Mizuki instead if I were y/n 😕 )

After my little break down, Mizuki sent me to eat lunch while they deal with some "business".

Mizuki's POV
I walked up to the roof, ready to get an explanation on to why y/n is being 'replaced' with their childhood bully. Out of everyone, Rui should know this is Y/n's bully..right?

I pushed the roof top door open and walked towards them.

"Hey Mizu-" I cut him off by saying,

"Rui. What do you think you're doing?" while crossing my arms.

"What do you mean? I'm not doing anythi- Ohh did Tsukasa send you here to make sure I'm not doing something 'stupid' again?" He asks while giggling.

'Oh. My. God. I swear I will-'

"Rui. I'm not joking. Who is this?" I ask pointing towards Yami.

"This is Yami? I thought you knew her?" He asks.

"Ok, uhm, Mizuki..can you go now? I'm talking to Rui." Yami says sternly, adding emphasis on the 'Mizuki'.

I swear I was about to explode but then I decided to leave them alone and go find Y/n.

I walk down from the roof and try to find Y/n yet to no avail.

'Where could they be..?'

I decided to ask Tsukasa and he said he saw them leaving the school since they said they were sick.

Y/n's POV
I went home and decided to practice for my performance on Tuesday.

I went to the sekai and search for Miku.

"Miku! Where are you??" I shouted as I heard shuffling behind me. Then I felt someone's hands pull me into a tight hug.

"Y/n! I've been waiting for you to return!" Miku exclaims.

"Oh really? Sorry to keep you waiting..

Can you perhaps let go now..? You're gonna..squeeze me to death.." I say out of breath.

She lets me go and apologizes.

We then practiced for hours upon hours until perfection.

"That was great Y/n! I'm sure you'll nail this!" Miku cheered.

I couldn't help but feel..sad..on the inside.

"Aww, what's with that expression?" Miku frowned.

I ended up telling Miku everything that happened. She hugged me, a little less tight this time, and said, "Don't worry, I'll make sure to try keep you happy! That's my purpose here in the sekai after all!!"

"Thank you Miku.." I say while wiping my tears.

Y/n ended up ignoring Rui for the three days before the performance.

Backstage (Tuesday)
"Mizuki..I'm not sure about this..I've never performed without him here to cheer me on.." I say in a worried tone.

"I may not be able to solve that one but, I'll be here! Cheering for you, louder than he could ever!" Mizuki exclaimed.

We both giggled until I realized it was time to go on stage.

I left the area I was in before and walked on the stage.

After the performance, I could hear everyone cheering and clapping while Mizuki was screaming at the top of their lungs, trying to overpower everyone else's voice.

I bowed and walked backstage to see Mizuki grinning, "See! You did amazing!" they said while giggling.

"I suppose you were right!" I replied, smiling.

At home
"Bye Mizuki!" I exclaim, waving at Mizuki. "Bye Y/n! Talk to you later!!" Mizuki shouts as they walk off.

'Mizuki was kind enough to walk me home, and comfort me through all this, I really need to pay them back somehow..' I thought while locking the door.

Suddenly I had an idea. I ran to my room, opened my laptop and searched for some things.

Wednesday
I ran to the roof with a bag in my hands, looking for a certain someone.

"Y/n! You won't believ-" I hear Rui say as I run past him, towards Mizuki.

"MIZUKI!!" I shout as I hugged them, making them flinch at the sudden contact.

"Oh hey Y/n! What's up?" They respond. "I wanted to give you this, as a gift for helping me out so much, and just for being my friend in general!" I say as I hand them the bag.

Rui and Yami look over at us in confusion.
"Weirdos.." Yami mumbles. "Did you say something Yami?" Rui asks her as she shakes her head.

"Y/n..You got these for me?! How did you know I've been wanting these!?" Mizuki says referring to the bows I got them. "You've been talking about them alot and I just decided to get them!" I responded while smiling.

"Thank you so much Y/n! You're the best!!" Mizuki says as they hug me. I hugged them back and said, "Anytime Mizuki!"

Rui looked over at you two smiling and talking together and felt something wash over him.

Jealousy.

This feeling was..new..to him.

It felt..

"Rui? Can you hear me?" Yami asks him with a concerned look on her face.

"Uhm, yes I'm..fine." he looks over at you and Mizuki once more before Yami asks him if he is free after school. "Sorry Yami, I'll be busy." Rui responds as Yami internally throws a tantrum.

"Wanna eat lunch together?" I ask Mizuki, hoping they'd agree. "Oh I'm so sorry Y/n I didn't bring any lunch today.." They frowned.

"Don't worry about that! I brought something for you!" I say gleefully. "Really?! You're the best Y/n!!" Mizuki says as they cling onto me once again.

Saturday (Cafe)
Mizuki and I were in a cafe, they were showing me some of their favorite places and this cafe happens to be one of them.

Everything was going good until we saw Rui and Yami walk through the door, holding hands.

I felt my heart sink into my chest as I felt tears run down my face. Mizuki saw this, rushed over to me, grabbed my hand while trying to calm me down.

Rui and Yami saw us, Rui let go of Yami's hand and walked towards us. Mizuki instantly stood up and pulled me up to stand beside them.

Right then and there, everything started spinning, I couldn't stand properly, I felt..sleepy?

All I remember is Mizuki pulling me outside while Rui was trying to stop them and Yami just watching this all unfold with a grin on her face, then everything went black.

"Mizuki. I just want to help you wi-"

"Leave us alone Rui. You know what you did." Mizuki says as they walk out the cafe, Rui attempted to follow them but Yami grabbed his hand.

"Rui, just let them be-"

"Can't you see Y/n just fainted? I just want to help them. You know what, Just let go of me." Rui said, leaving Yami shocked.

Yami let go of his hand as he walked outside to find out You, as well as Mizuki, were already long gone.

He sighed as he walked back inside the cafe.

"Y/n? How do you feel now?" Mizuki asks. "I'm doing much better now thanks to you!" I say as I smile at them.

1 month later
"Y/n..I'm going to miss you so much..!" Mizuki says while frowning.

"I'll come back one day Mizuki! It may be years from now, but I promise, I'll be back for you..!" I say while hugging them tightly.

Mizuki started crying as I comforted them as best as I could. "Mizuki, I have something to give you.." I say, handing them something. "Matching bows..! I'll wear mine all the time and when I perform live you'll be able to see! Then we'll never be apart.!" I exclaimed.

Mizuki smiled and said, "Thank you Y/n, I'll wear this everyday..!" as they placed it in their hair.

Few months after
Mizuki POV
"Hey Mizuki.." I hear someone say. I turn to see Rui..without Yami?

'But they are always together??' I thought.

"What do you want?" I ask him, honestly wondering what he had to say now.

"You're probably wondering where Yami is, she's sick today." he says, "uhm, do you know where Y/n is..? I haven't seen them at school recently and they aren't answering my texts." He adds.

I started laughing hysterically, Rui looked at me in confusion.

"Are you serious right now? What do you mean by 'do you know where y/n is' ?! Y/N LEFT 3 DAMN MONTHS AGO RUI." I shouted unable to control my anger.

Rui looked shocked for a few seconds then he shook his head, looked down and walked away mumbling the words 'I'm sorry'.

Rui's POV
I walked into a empty classroom and stared out the window with tears running down my face.

'I can't believe they left, I didn't even get to say bye to them.. I got Yami back but at what cost..

The person that mattered most to me..

y/n.

y/n was the cost..

I lost y/n.'

Author's note
This is so out of character.. ☹️
But this took FOREVER TO FINISH..LIKE LITERALLY..IT FELT LIKE I WAS WRITING AN ENTIRE BOOK. AND ITS STILL BAD.

IT DIDNT TURN OUT EXACTLY HOW I WANTED IT CAUSE I RUSHED SOME PARTS THERE ARE ALSO PROBABLY SOME SPELLING MISTAKES..

I hope y'all at least understand why it's called Lost and Found though 😭😭

I also added two of my project sekai Oc's and their sekai in fr 💪😍 (Hanako and Chizuki + the disorientated sekai)
