Anri:
"What was that goal? That was crazy!"

"Lemme watch that again, he made a feint and put a spin on it.. hm? He let it hang there and as it was falling he made another shot for the goal?! A play like this is a miracle!"

Ego:
"Using a cheap word like 'miracle' to describe that just shows your mediocrity, Anri-chan."

Anri:
"B-but that was some kind of super play! That's not the sort of thing you could do over and over!"

Ego:
"I'm not sure about that. The will to score a goal here, and the skill to back it up, all up in an environment of a specific set of game situations with just the right players. When all of these conditions stack in just the right way one's performance could exceed human understanding."

That simply means that miracle can be explained, and it's formula lies just beyond this selection.

[Second Selection, Final Stage]

Isagi:
(It's 2-2 now, even if my spatial awareness and Nagi's trapping aren't enough on their own, we've proved that it's enough to beat rin when the two of us bring out each other's strengths. But a goal like that, can't happen without several people playing at peak performance.)

Simply put, if they want to beat Rin, they need to find a way to compete using abilities that exceed his.

Nishioka:
"We got cooked, chat."

Aryu:
"..What do you even mean by that?"

Nishioka:
"You won't get it."

Rin:
"Cut that bullshit. If you wanna win, give it all you've got."

I whispered to Aryu,

"Wow, is he angry?"

He replied,

"That's a rare sight.."

Kick-off.

Bachira:

"I like that, show me how you go all-out, Rin-chan!"

Both Aryu and I ran forward as Bachira passed the ball to Rin.

Rin passed the ball to me with the outside of his right foot, creating an outside spin on the ball.

Nishioka:
"Nice pass, Rin-chan."

Barou:
"That's a bad pass. I'm gonna get there first!"

Nope.

The ball may landed in front of Barou, but it'll go to me with it's backspin.

I pivoted on my left foot with my back's on Barou. Before we collided, I lightly tapped the ball between Barou's feet.

The range.. is enough for me to shoot!

Just kidding.

I'll pass it back to Bachira!

Without leaving any time to waste, Bachira immediately passed the ball to Rin.

"You should've passed directly to Aryu."

Correcting Bachira's and my mistake, he then made a long pass to Aryu.

Aryu:
"That's different from Bachira's earlier pass, it's a pass meant to test my limit."

Aryu jumps and traps the ball with his chest.

Chigiri:
"That's amazing, but I still caught you!"

Aryu then crossed the ball back to Rin.

Isagi:
"Nagi! block his shoot course!"

Nagi:
"Got it!"

Isagi:
(It's two-on-two, will he shoot or dribble.. or pass to Bachira?!)

Nagi:
(That's a shooting motion!)

He then remembered about Rin's feints before.

Nagi:
(No. don't rush in yet. He's only moving his leg..! I won't fall for the same trick!)

Rin dragged the ball with his right foot, then turns his body against Nagi and accelerated past him.

Isagi:
"I saw through you..!"

Rin:
"You're two steps too late."

"Nice pass again, Rin-chan."

The ball fell right on my feet as I overlapped Bachira.

I chipped the ball over the Blue Lock Man with the point of my left foot.

My dribbling technique, Ayru's jumping power, Isagi's ability to read movement, this is how Rin goes all-out.

Rin:
"There's no way you can read me, you're just a supporting character."

Chigiri:
"So.. that's how Rin goes all-out. No matter friend or foe, he controls the entire field!"

Until now, Rin always played on his own, using just his own abilities. But now, he's starting to use both his opponents and his allies, to manipulate the entire field.

He's identifying each person's talent, then drawing out their maximum potential to allow him to do whatever he wants.

Nagi:

"He'll see through anything remotely easy. The only thing we can do is to go beyond what he can imagine, right?"

Chigiri:
"But even knowing that, turning it into a goal is a whole other matter. It'll be insanely difficult, but if we can all go in with our weapon cranked to the max.."

Nagi:
"We can breakthrough."

Isagi:
"Yeah, let's go!"

At that time, the 'King' was quietly sharpening his fangs.

Kick-off.

Nagi passed the ball to Isagi with Chigiri quickly ran forward.

We changed our defense a bit with Rin become the one's pressing while Bachira's guarding the rear.

Isagi passed to Chigiri and we got Aryu immediately covering him.

As soon as he received the ball, he taps the ball sideway and cut through Aryu's defense.

Leaving Isagi, Rin decided to cover Chigiri.

He immediately crossed the ball to Nagi and now Bachira and I went there to intercept the pass.

Isagi ran to Bachira's blindspot, and as he tries to respond, Isagi pivot in the opposite direction of Bachira's center of gravity.

Nagi then lobs the ball to Isagi who's broken free.

Luckily we got Rin to anticipate Isagi's sudden movement.

Isagi tried to duel with Rin by colliding with him, but it's no use, he can't match him in strength.

!

Crap, how do I forgot about him?!

Barou:
"I win, Isagi. it's my ball now."

Barou stole the ball from Isagi

Nagi:
"He broke through Rin's foresight?!"

To be honest he broke mine, too. I totally forgot about this scene.

Isagi:
(I see! There's no such thing as 'stealing the ball from a teammate' in Rin's database. It's something he can't predict! that's why it worked! To Rin who crafts his plays so precisely, Barou as a villain of the field is an irregular force that's impossible to control!)

Rin:

Kick-off.

Bachira started by passing to Rin.

Isagi:
"Chigiri, can you go all-out from now on? Use your speed to hound whoever's in possession."

Chigiri:
"..Alright."

Nagi:
"That means I'm marking that stylish dude now."

Chigiri is now face to face with Rin.

Chigiri:
"Try getting past me, Genius."

Seeing no other options, Rin passed to Bachira who's wide open.

Even when Isagi's already there to guard Bachira, Chigiri ran to press Bachira even more as Isagi told him to.

Before he steal the ball, Bachira dragged the ball back with his right foot.

Bachira:
"That was close!"

Isagi then went to cover Rin.

Bachira was left no other option but to crack open their defense himself.

Bachira vs Chigiri, Technique vs Speed.

Bachira lifts the ball with his right foot then swings it from right to left..

He goes right.

But, Isagi had anticipated that.

Now that he's in a 2v1 situation, Bachira struggles to get past them, letting Barou steal the ball easily.

Nishioka:
"You better stop it, King."

I get ahead of Barou, then he chops the ball after I throw my tackle.

Rin had read that and cleared the ball.
