thirteen : thinks for thanking of me

STEVE DROVE AN OLD CAR, ONE ELAINE DIDN'T KNOW THE MODEL OF. She was squashed in the back with Bucky, who was a fairly muscular man. Before they had left the abandoned building, Elaine had snuck a meetup with Sharon and stole Steve's shield, along with Sam's wings. She also grabbed her suit, which was like Natasha's, but white. Steve parked the car in an empty location before stepping out and walking to the car in front of them, just as Sharon stepped out of it.

Elaine couldn't hear what they were talking about, only seeing Sharon open the trunk to reveal the suits. Elaine sighed, slumping back in her seat and trying to move her right leg, which was basically on Bucky's left leg.

Bucky kept a straight face until he realized Sam's seat in front of him was the reason he and Elaine were squished in the back.

"Can you move your seat up?" Bucky asked Sam, who kept his eyes in front of him.

      "No." Sam deadpanned.

Elaine sighed before Bucky looked over to her and started making weird hand movements. She finally got what he was saying after a few moments and very awkwardly, she raised in her seat and carefully switched places with Bucky. Sam glanced back, laughing when he saw how uncomfortably and awkwardly they switched.

Steve pulled Sharon in for a small hug before she walked off. Elaine and Sharon shared a small look, knowing both of them were going to be on the run once everything was finally over. None of the men caught the small exchange, and Elaine preferred that. She knows running will be hard on her sister, and she wanted to be the one to tell Wanda.

On the 6th level of a parking garage at the Leipzig/Halle airport, Steve drove into the dim parking lot in the battered, old car. Elaine hated the smell, mainly because it smelled like gasoline and her powers wanted to light it on fire. He parked by a gray van and they all got out, stepping into the fresh air.

"Cap." Clint greeted. Elaine thought Clint was retired, but seeing her sister climb out from the passenger seat, a smile found its way onto Elaine's pale lips.

"You know I wouldn't have called If I had any other choice." Steve and Clint shook hands as a friendly greeting while Sam and Bucky stayed by the old blue vehicle.

"Hey man, you're doing me a favor. Besides," Clint paused and looked and Wanda, then to Elaine. "I owe a debt."

Steve looked to Wanda with a small smile. "Thanks for having my back."

Wanda shrugged and looked to Clint. "It was time to get off my ass."

"How about our other recruit?" Steve asked, glancing at the grey van.

Clint walked over to the sliding door on the side. "He's rarin' to go. Had to put a little coffee in him, but..." The door slammed when it was fully opened, waking up the man inside. "he should be good."

Scott Lang groaned as he sat up and got out of the car. "What timezone is this?"

"Come on." Clint ushered. "Come on."

Scott began to shake Steve's hand with an amazed look. "Captain America."

"Mr. Lang." Steve greeted.

"It's an honor. I'm shaking your hand too long. Wow! This is awesome! Captain America." He looked at Wanda and then to Elaine. "I know you, too. You're great!" He turned back and felt Steve's shoulders, causing Elaine to chuckle under her breath. "Jeez. Ah, look, I wanna say, I know you know a lot of super people, so... thinks for thanking of me." Scott looked over to Sam, who was highly amused. "Hey, man!"

"What's up, Tic Tac?" Sam said with a toothy grin.

Scott awkwardly chuckled. "Uh, good to see you. Look, what happened last time when I..."

"It was a great audition, but it'll... it'll never happen again." Sam dismissed as Elaine furrowed her brows, having no clue what they were talking about.

"They tell you what we're up against?" Elaine asked, her Sokovian accent shining through her words.

"Something about some... psycho-assassins?" Scott lazily recalled.

"We're outside the law on this one. So, if you come with us, you're a wanted man." Steve warned.

"Yeah, well, what else is new?" Scott made an unfazed expression.

"We should get moving." Bucky spoke from the far side of the old car.

"We got a chopper lined up." Clint informed.

On the PA, a voice boomed through, echoing through the car garage. "Dies ist eine Notsituation. Alle Passagiere mรผssen den Flughafen sofort evakuieren. [This is an emergency. All passengers must evacuate the airport immediately.]"

Everyone looked to Bucky, knowing he could translate it. "They're evacuating the airport." Bucky said.

"Stark." Sam stated, crossing his arms.

"Stark?" Scott repeated.

"Suit up." Steve ordered.

Steve in his uniform strode through an underpass, then jogged onto a private runway, heading for the grounded chopper while Bucky, Elaine, and Sam were inside the airport.

Elaine paid no attention to the argument between Steve and Tony while Redwing searched for the Quinjet.

Bucky was between Sam and Elaine, all of them crouched down so they weren't noticed in the empty airport. Elaine didn't know what they were going to do when they got to the other Winter Soldiers, seeing as Bucky was able to take out everyone when he wasn't himself. She could only imagine someone worse than the Winter Soldier inside Bucky.

Sure, having powers gave the advantage, but one small distraction can cause catastrophe. Elaine knew that.

Sam finally pressed his earpiece. "We found it. Their Quinjet's in hanger five, north runway."

"Got three in the terminal, Wilson, Maximoff, and Barnes." Elaine heard Rhodes through her earpiece while the three of them began sprinting through the airport to get to the Quinjet.

"Barnes is mine!" She heard T'Challa claim, causing her to tense.

Then, Tony's voice. "Not a scratch on Elaine."

"Shit." Elaine muttered as she gathered her power in her hands, making them glow a bright blue. It was nice to know Tony still cared, even if they were on different sides.

As the trio was running, a loud sound caused their heads to snap to the windowed roof, seeing something red and blue crawling along it like some spider.

"What the hell is that?" Bucky asked, all of them looking as it ran with them on the outside.

Sam groaned in annoyance. "Everyone's got a gimmick now."

Peter suddenly swung through the glass wall and kicked Sam backwards before turning to Elaine. "I really don't want to hit you."

Elaine smirked from next to Bucky. "Don't stress about it."

Bucky threw a punch, causing Peter to quickly catch his fist. "You have a metal arm? That is awesome, dude!" Peter said in complete awe as Sam flew from nowhere and lifted him into the air and away from Elaine and Bucky. "You have the right to remain silent!" Mid-air Peter fended Sam off, then easily swung after him using the webs.

Elaine and Bucky ran after Sam and Peter until Elaine stopped, grabbing Bucky's real arm and stopping him. He looked at her in confusion before she lifted her arms in the air and began breaking off large pieces of the ceiling. With just the flick of her wrists, all the pieces began flying at Peter without hesitation.

That's when Bucky realized she pulled him to the side so he wouldn't get hurt. Nobody has shown that much care for him since 1945. He forced the thought away, knowing it was just because she couldn't have him dying when all of this was for him.

"Oh god." Peter shouted as the pieces flew by him viciously. Bucky wrapped his real arm around Elaine's waist and pulled her in front of him as he swiftly turned and pulled them both behind a pillar for protection. "Hey buddy, I think you lost this!" Bucky and Elaine peeked from around the corner, just to see a piece flying back at them. They both crouched slightly and turned away as the ceiling pice blew through half of the pillar.

Sam finally got some leverage and kicked him off the beam, causing Peter to fire a web which sent Sam crashing to the floor and fly through a glass stand. For the final move, Peter webbed Sam's wrists to a balcony railing when he stood.

"Those wings carbon fiber?" Peter asked, his geeky mind naturally coming into action.

"Is this stuff coming out of you?" Sam asked in complete confusion.

Peter went on to ramble. "That would explain the rigidity-flexibility ratio, which, gotta say, that's awesome, man."

"I don't know if you've been a fight before but there's usually not this much talking." Sam was beyond annoyed at this point.

Peter gave a breathy laugh. "Alright, sorry, my bad." He swung down just as Bucky jumped in the way, sending both Bucky and Sam through the glass and down onto the next floor while Peter webbed them. "Guys, look. I'd love to keep this up but I've only got one job here today and I gotta impress Mr. Stark, so, l'm really sorry."

As Peter was doing that and talking, Elaine used her powers to find Redwing and send the machine at Peter, throwing him through the glass wall.

"You couldn't have done that earlier?" Bucky asked as Elaine peered over the edge, grinning in amusement.

"I hate you." Sam replied.

Elaine rolled her eyes at them as she used her powers to lower herself down with ease before getting the webs off them. "I won't die at the hands of you two. If I do, I'll haunt you for eternity."
