You get all your snow gear on, wrapping a scarf around your neck and helping your little sisters with hers. You push the door open, and step out, you immediately sink knee deep into the snow, shoving your chilled legs through it. You look behind you to see your little sister trailing along, she was waist deep in the snow.

YOUR POV.

It's so cold! And the snow is so deep. I'm going to have to carry Bara through all this..She's waist deep in the snow! I picked her up, she's surprisingly pretty light. I'm going to let her ride on my shoulders until we get to town, I don't think i'm strong enough to carry her farther than that.

You and Bara had finally made it to town. The streets were stranded, other than the impoverished people lying around, it looked like a ghost town. You were afraid to put Bara down, so you just let her sit on your shoulders. It soon became nightfall, and Bara was shivering.

"Y/N I'm cold! Let's go.." Bara whispered.

"Alright, my little rose. Let me just put the last of the bags in the basket." You said, trying to reassure her, and yourself.

YOUR POV. (once again)

It's getting pretty dark..And cold...I can see why Bara wants to go home. I put the rest of the bags into the basket and started my way up the mountain. Bara was as cold as ice, so I started sprinting. I heard a few noises, which that scared me, and terrified Bara. I went quicker and quicker, until I was full on running. My legs burned, but I didn't care. It was pitch black, but I could smell our mothers baking and see the bright lights in our house from afar.

You open the door to see your father sitting down and drinking coffee, while cleaning your katana. You look over into the kitchen and see your mother baking more bread. You set your little sister down and help her get out of her snow gear, and you get out of yours. You felt warm inside of your home, with your family.

"Y/N, Why do you use a katana and not a nichirin blade?" Your father asked.

"Father, you know I'm not apart of the Demon Slayer Corps." You sighed.

"Not until next week." He replied quickly.

You stood there, staring at your father in shock.

"Father! You're sending me to final selection?!" You asked, excited yet nervous at the same time.

"Yes. You have a full week to build up strength and speed." He said, and took a sip of his coffee.

You squealed with delight and ran to your room, packing up everything you would need. You grab your now clean katana and lay it in a folded up haori. The haori was very plain. Just a lavender colored haori. You sighed and set it next to your futon. The very next morning you were up and training before sunrise, running around your house, knowing it'll be harder because the snow is knee deep. You spent five hours running around the house, not stopping even if it burnt really badly.
You bent over and rested your hands on your knees, coughing and gasping for air. 'Recovery breathing!' You thought to yourself. You did what your instinct told you and you were all better in no time. You smiled to yourself for reassurance, and you marched over to a pine tree that was about 40 feet tall.
