The day began as dry and boring as any other day of the week would have been, but the start of my second-period class brought color to my normally drab, monotonous life. The teacher uttered useless remarks that seemed to escape my mind as a boy entered the room with skin so pale it rendered him stark against the dreary morn. He had delicate honey blond hair that fell onto his brow, cut perfectly as to not obscure the view of his shocking ice blue eyes.
I felt his gaze pierce me, unsurprisingly as I do sit in the front row, but upon meeting his eyes I saw the stars. A color isn't enough to describe the swirling emotion in which they held, and my words still lack the complexity to describe how utterly shocking they were. I was at a loss for words. He took a seat near me as indicated by our teacher before he began his lesson for the day, returning the world to its natural dull, colorless, monotony. That was until I received a small, battered note which read, "Amir Bakkal, you?"
