"Adnan asks me, 'Who is this? How did they hug you?"
"Aryaan hears Adnan's voice and immediately steps away from me, staring at me intensely. I look at Adnan and say, 'I'm sorry, Adnan, I didnβt tell youβhe's my husband.'"
"As soon as Adnan hears this, he freezes completely and says, 'Whatβwhat did you just say?'"
"I'm sorry, Adnan. I know this is a big shock for you. I'm really sorry," Ayesha says, tears welling up in her eyes.
"I was about to respond to Adnan, but before I could, Aryaan asked me, 'Who is he? And what's all this preparation for?'"
"This is Adnan, my childhood friend. He went abroad for his studies."
"Aryaan extends his hand toward Adnan and says, 'I'm Ayesha's husband, Kim Aryaan. Nice to meet you.'"
"Adnan shakes hands with Aryaan and says, 'Nice to meet you too.' Then, looking at me, he says, 'Congratulations, Ayesha. You got married and didnβt even tell me?' His eyes fill with tears.
It had been years since I had seen him like this. With teary eyes, I say, 'I'm sorry, Adnan. I didnβt tell you because I knew if you found out about my wedding, you would have left everything and come to Korea. And that would have meant leaving Uncleβs dream incomplete.'"
"It hurt, but it's okay," he says, then looks at Aryaan and adds, "You're very lucky, Mr. Aryaan, to have Ayesha. A girl like her isnβt found, not even through prayers."
"Take care, I should get goingβI have some work," Adnan says.
I look at him and say, "Adnan, I'm sorry. Please come to the mansion with me."
"Adnan looks at me and says, 'I can't come today, but I'll visit tomorrow.'
"Adnan looks at Aryaan and says, 'Mr. Aryaan, it's about to rain. Please take Ayesha home.'"
"Then he turns to leave. Seeing the tears in his eyes hurts me deeply. Without looking back, he walks away."
"Aryaan looks at me and says, 'Come on, Ayesha, it's about to rain.'
Just then, the rain starts pouring. 'Hurry up, or you'll get drenched and fall sick,' he adds.
For the first time, I see him like this. I don't know why, but the way he cares for me feels so niceβeven though I know he's a mafia.
I think to myself, Why does his care feel so comforting?"
"He then pauses and says, 'Wait a minuteβ¦ you like the rain, donβt you?'
I nod.
'So that's why you're not moving,' he says with a slight smirk.
I quickly reply, 'No, let's go,' and we hurry to the car, getting inside."
Author's Pov :
Adnan's side
Adnan stops his car in the middle of the road and steps out. Tears are streaming down his eyes. Looking up at the sky, he says, "Allah, the last hope I had to live is gone too. Why, Allah? You knew how much I loved her. It feels like someone is cutting my heart into pieces. I'm in unbearable pain. Please grant me patience, or else I will die."
And then, he falls into prostration on the road, crying uncontrollably.
After a while, Adnan gets up, wipes his tears, and takes his car, heading back to the hotel.
Aryaan's Pov :
In car.
I look at Ayesha, she seems very upset. I asked her, "What happened?" Tears start rolling down her eyes. Seeing her cry, I get scared and ask again, "What happened, Ayesha? Look at me."
Then she finally replies, "Adnan was crying. I saw tears in his eyes."
I sigh and tell her, "Oh, Butterfly! You are truly so pure and innocent. You're crying over something so small."
She glares at me and says, "You think this is a small thing? He is my friend! Apart from my appa and me, he has no one else."
"Alright, can you tell me who his father is and where he is? She looks at me and responds. He is my driver uncle's son and my childhood friend. We study together. When he is a university student, his Appa passes away.
Then, my appa sends him to London for studies. Now, he has become London's No. 1 businessman, and am feeling bad that I did not invite him to my wedding."
"I say to Ayesha, 'Alright, so shall we go home now?
Ayesha " Alright "
"Then I bring Ayesha home."
After a while, I take my laptop and start working, while she sits on the bed watching me. I say, 'If you keep looking at me like that, how will I be able to work?' Lowering her gaze, she says, 'May Allah protect us, how many eyes do you have?' I smile and say, 'Everyone has two, but for you, I have four
"She says, 'Oh really? Were you smiling?"
"I turn towards Ayesha and say, 'Looks like you want me to not work.'"
"'No, no, I'm going to sleep. You continue your work.' I say, 'Alright.' Then suddenly, she sits up and says, 'You really do smile!'"
"I say, 'Canβt I smile?' Ayesha says, 'No, Iβve only seen your anger.' I say, 'Oh, so you donβt want me to work? Fine, I wonβt.' Covering her face with the blanket, she says, 'No, you continue your work.'"
"After a while, I finish my work too. 'Honestly, Ayesha, life feels like heaven with you. You are bringing this dead Aryan back to life,' I think to myself while looking at her. Then, I go to sleep."
Ayesha's Pov :
In the middle of the night, I wake up and see Aryaan sitting on the couch. I go to him and ask, 'Why havenβt you slept yet?' He stands up, and before he can say anything, he faints. I get very scared. When I try to wake him up, I see that his entire skin has turned red, and he has a very high fever
"I didnβt know what to do. Then, I called our family doctor. After a while, he arrived, and after checking Aryaan, he said to me, 'Don't worry, he has developed an allergy from getting drenched in the rain, which caused his skin to turn red and gave him a high fever. I have given him an injection; he should regain consciousness by tomorrow.' I thanked Doctor Uncle, and then he left."
"I go and sit beside Aryaan."
Next Morning β‘
Aryaan's Pov :
"I hear the sound of someone reciting the Quran in my ears. Slowly, I open my eyes and see Ayesha sitting beside me, reciting the Holy Quran. I donβt know why, but I feel an immense sense of peace. Without interrupting her,
I start listening to her attentively. After a while, when Ayesha finishes reciting, she looks at me and becomes very happy. She says to me, 'Alhamdulillah, you are completely fine. "
