FLASHBACK

"He can't, what!?" [ Y/N ] squeezed his eyes as he heard a striking sound and heard the sound of glass falling on the floor and shattering.

"It's not his fault, don't blame him!" [ Y/N ] mother, Astra, barked back towards her husband as she felt blood streaming down her cheek.

She pulled herself up her eyes narrowed sharply as a cat stared up at her husband. Meanwhile [ Y/N ] was peeking out the door starring at the scene.

"No, if anything this is your fault, Astra! You couldn't give birth to a stronger son. The same goes for him, he can't even awaken his ability he's a burden to our species!" Averill yelled, striking his tail back and forth.

"Don't you dare call my son that, you bastard! If anything, you're the burden here! Thanks to you, we are banned from the celestial realm-" Before Astra could finish her sentence Averill struck her once again and then gripped her fur.

"Better watch your tongue, Astra, Remember your place in my palace, bitch." Averill growled under his breath. He harshly pushes her away as he makes his way by the door. [ Y/N ] eyes widened as he noticed his father coming towards him.

Before he could run off, the door slammed open as Averill stopped and noticed his "son" a few feet away from him. His eyes narrowed towards [ Y/N ] as he pushed him on the floor and felt tears form in his eyes while letting out a small "ow".

"Stay out my sight, you little shit." Averill walked off only seeing a tiny figure. As he left, [ Y/N ] immediately rushed towards his mother seeing her bloody face and she lifted a weak smile towards her son.

"Mama!" [ Y/N ] eyes widened and hugged her as tears fell down his eyes. "Shh, it's okay darling. I'm okay." Astra wiped her bloody cheek and slowly picked up her son who held tight on her coat.

It was true, [ Y/N ] couldn't waken his moon ability. His mother told him it's okay and it's probably for the best if he doesn't wake because of a horrible condition that happens to any Lunar monkey who wakens it.

But when asked about it, she'll ignore it. Astra walked outside in the garden and walked up the stone bridge. Astra looked down as a stream of koi fish swam away and continued their day.

"Look, Darling." [ Y/N ] looked down to see the stream of koi fish swimming around. [ E/C ] The male beamed at the sight of the koi fish and was placed on the ground to see the fish.

"They're really pretty mama!" [ Y/N ] cried out, wiping his tears. A warm smile was planted on Astra's face. She glanced down to see her son happy and his tail slightly wagging.

Soon her smile slowly faded as she began to cough hoarsely, this spooked the [ F/C ] monkey and he turned his head to see his mother covering her mouth.

"Mama, are you okay?" [ Y/N ] frowned viewing his mother as worried but his mother reassured him about about it. "Don't worry honey, I'll be okay." She slightly smiled as she whipped the remaining blood off her cheek.

A few years flew by like a breeze, and [ Y/N ] mother continued to cough blood and felt weak that his father kept arguing with her and laying his hands on her till [ Y/N ] started to defend her.

The palace and tiny village grew and grew less of their species. There's a tale that Lunar monkeys are dying slowly cause of their curse and also living in the environment near the mountains barely much food to feed the village.

On a clouded day, ruined all hopes.
"Just one step at a time mama." [ Y/N ] who was now a pre-teen spoke as he helped his bother walk and analyzed her figure.

"I know, my darling-" Astra paused her sentence and they both suddenly stopped. "Mama?" [ Y/N ] slowly turned his head towards his mother, his eyes widened as blood dripped on the floor.

"Mama!?" [ Y/N ] cried out as he saw his mother collapse on the ground. The young male had tears forming in his eyes and felt his body shaking.

"Mama! Please get up! W-what should I do!?" Panic soon controlled the male voice and felt his chest rising up and down rapidly.

" [ Y/N ].." The male's eyes lifted as he heard his mother's voice. "Mama, you're okay! Don't worry I'll get some help!" Before [ Y/N ] could find someone, his mother grabbed his head refusing him to leave.

" [ Y/N ] you know, no one is going to help. Not even your father." Astra coughed more blood as she looked at her son in the eyes. There was a shimmer in her eyes like a sign of loss. "No! Someone will help!" [ Y/N ] cried out.

" [ Y/N ] please, no one is coming. I could feel my time ending." Those words broke [ Y/N ] like in a million pieces.

"Don't say that!" Tears rolled down the [ F/C ] male as he held his mother tightly. "Please get up, we'll find help." [ Y/N ] voice was rasped till he felt a rough hand tightening around his.

" [ Y/N ]! You have to understand that no one is coming!" Astra slightly raised her voice causing the male to flinch in surprise.

"Come closer." Astra weakly pulled [ Y/N ] closer to her as both individuals were lying on the floor. [ Y/N ] pressed his head against his mother's chest: hearing her heart beating but slowly.

"It's been a while since I've held you, I remember that day clearly." Astra's voice was rough yet comforting. More tears streamed down the [ E/C ] eyed male.

"The day you were just a baby and couldn't sleep cause of the rainstorm. I held you just like this and stayed by your side till you fell asleep." Astra slowly closed her eyes as she continued to speak.

"Promise me something [ Y/N ]." Astra placed her hands around her son's head and slightly stroked his fur. "Yes, mama?" [ Y/N ] buried his head closer to his mother's chest.

"Promise me, you'll keep fighting. Defeat your father tear this palace apart and run away far away from here." She cried out. [ Y/N ] could feel teardrops fall from her face and drop down his cheek.

"I will mama." [ Y/N ] began to cry and cry more. Intertwining their tails together both individuals had tears coming from their eyes till Astra hummed a lullaby she would sing to [ Y/N ].

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when the sky is gray, you'll never know dear how much I love you. So, please don't take my sunshine away.." Astra's voice slowly started to trail off as more blood streamed down her mouth.

" [ Y/N ] I love you. Thank you for showing me a different point of life and being my son." With that Astra took one last breath and slowly closed her eyes shut. [ Y/N ] heard her heartbeat slowly fading away causing the male to hold her tightly seeking her warmth.

"Please don't go." [ E/C ] eyed male spoke till the sound of doors was heard and their samurai stopped in their place to witness what happened. "The empress is-"

"Dead." They looked back to see the emperor behind them. They quickly bowed their heads down and dared not move.

The emperor walked closer to see his wife lifeless on the ground and his son crying and holding her tightly.

"Samurai bury her body properly and take my son away from her. The last thing I need is a pity party." He cleared his throat and stepped aside.

"no! No! NO!" [ Y/N ] got up from his position and stood up to make a T position: spreading his arms apart and hissed.

"C'mon kid, move." Two samurai grabbed [ Y/N ] without a fight and dragged him away from his mother. "Let me go! You monsters!" [ Y/N ] yelled and kicked them around. "No! MAMA! DON'T TAKE ME AWAY FROM HER!" With that hell began.

[ Y/N ] shot his head up and began to breathe heavily. Sweat was dripping from his face and feeling his body shaking. [ Y/N ] felt tears forming in his eyes and began to cry.

Curling his tail around his body and trying to calm his nerves. "I hate you father. For everything you've done, I want you dead."
