i woke up this morning in my bed. flashbacks of what happened yesterday came through my mind as i remembered sobbing on tanjiro as he comforted me, but i don't remember going back to this room so maybe he carried me all the way here.

fixing my appearance, glancing over the circle-shaped mirror in front of me. i admired myself for a couple of minutes before rushing outside and towards the headquarters where oyataka-sama is waiting for my response.

upon arriving, i rest my hands on my knees before panting heavily. why did i even run all the way from the butterfly estate to here? i could have enjoyed the morning walk, yet i rushed over nothing.

i stood by the door, hesitantly bringing my knuckles before knocking.

no response came inside the room so i knocked again. then soon the door was opened by one of the white-haired looking dolls. she held a smile on her face as she gestured me to sit across from oyataka-sama.

i made my way towards him, kneeling as a sign of respect before sitting on the cushion laid on the floor.

"i bid you a good morning oyataka-sama, how have you been?" i muttered, making eye contact with him knowing fully well that his vision isn't well.

"i've been well my dear child."

"have you come here to tell me your decision?"

i gathered all the air that i needed, before letting out a shaky breathe. i convinced myself that this is the path for me, i've talked to tanjiro yesterday night and made it clear for myself that i'm accepting oyakata-sama's offer.

"i humbly accept your offer of becoming the tenth hashira of the demon slayer corps." i blurted out loud and clear, confidence seeping through my body.

"i knew you'd say that."

"you're indeed like your father, kenji."

my eyes widened from oyakata-sama's words. he chuckled before staring at my eyes, though his vision might not be there. he knew that he's staring right through my soul.

"i know your past y/n. you see kenji actually didn't die in that unfaithful day, he was able to seek help from us but a few days after he passed away but not until he told me about his daughter."

"we searched for you everywhere yet no sign of you was found. until we found the kamado household, we were to take you but seeing you in good hands and away from the demons. i thought that maybe that is the path for you."

"but here you are, accepting your faith as the tenth hashira at the demon slayer corps. i am sure your father is proud of you."

his words cut deep within my soul. that's why the villagers wasn't able to show his body, because he had never died in that day. maybe if i searched, if i only searched for his body that day. if i searched and found him, i would have been by his side when he passed away.

"before he passed away, he told me to give you this."

oyakata-sama handed me a small heavy material wrapped in a cloth, opening it i found my father's nichirin sword guard.

it was a yellowish-orange colored blade guard in a form of a sun, each ray consists the different breathing used by the hashiras and in the middle was a written word "sun".

"i have a lot to say to you, i hope that you're ready to face the reality of what happened to your father."

sharp deep breathes could be heard echoing in a large empty forest. animals fled after hearing the chaos occuring in the nearby village, birds and crows had flew away from the scene not wanting to deal with the situation at hand.

a certain burgundy male gasped, trying his hardest to breathe while running as fast as he could to get away from the village that was under attack by the demons.

his breathe was shallow, he held his stomach that was wounded as he took a hit that was supposed to be for a young girl. that young girl reminded him of her daughter that is currently in the household of the kamado's which he is thankful for.

the cries of the villagers could be heard from a distance but the male couldn't bother to look at them. he knew that the demons were after him, it was an order probably from the first demon, kibutsuji muzan.

his presence had been exposed, the village was attacked, and dozens of people were killed from the act. he clenched his fists, cursing the gods above for being born in this bloodline yet he couldn't do anything but runaway, for the demons to notice that he was gone and for them to follow him and leave the village alone.

the male running away from the village, known as kenji tsugikuni, the descendant of the man which muzan despised so much.

yoriichi tsugikuni, the man who muzan despised. no, "despised" shouldn't even be used.

he hate yoriichi tsugikuni.

muzan would do everything in his hands to massacre the remaining bloodline of yoriichi, afraid that one of yoriichi's descendants would inherit his skills and talents finishing muzan off.

being the tyrant king he is, he had demanded his demon chattel's to seek for the hanafuda earrings, and a person who wore those shall be chopped into pieces before offered to him as a thanksgiving.

he came across kenji, what he fear the most had happened. kenji who inherited yoriichi's skills and talents had almost beheaded him again.

in rage and fury, he himself showed in the attack of the village. almost wiping out everyone that resides in, yet the others were spared as kenji was the only one he wanted.

muzan wanted kenji's head on a shining gold platter, served for him to eat and savor, and to mess and chop as a punishment for almost beheading him.

kenji had run from miles, not stopping once. the hinokami kagura dance that was passed to him by his father had paid off, the weather was cold and gloomy as winter is about to approach.

"i must survive."

"i haven't even taught n/n the hinokami kagura dance."

"i was supposed to show her this winter, but-"

the man grieved, his expression turning sorrow as his mind wandered to his daughter. he have the most beautiful, and well mannered daughter that reminded him of his wife.

he wanted to see her grow up, even tease her for having a boyfriend. act all over protective, yet deep inside he would feel all fuzzy and excited, celebrating for his daughter who had gotten herself a partner that would be the light of her life.

but that wasn't the case.

every step he took, a memory flashes through him. and those memories had kept him running and fighting for his life.

and he thanked the heavens upon seeing an estate. without thinking, he opened the door before collapsing on the floor. doing his best to keep his eyes open, as people from inside the house surrounded him.

buffled sounds were heard, he couldn't understand what was being said. his vision clouded and blurred, the voices from the people residing in the estate were all muffled. all he could do is pray and hope that he'll survive and come back to his daughter alive and well.

the next day, kenji opened his eyes noticing an unfamiliar ceiling. he tried sitting down but the cut from his stomach prevented him to, at the exact moment the door was opened and in front of him is a young man with raven shoulder length hair.

"thank goodness you are awake."

"how are you feeling? have some soup."

the young man rushed towards his side, setting the soup on the small table located at kenji's left side. he helped kenji sit down, being careful to not hit the wound.

then and there. the young man introduced himself as a part of the demon slayer corps, kagaya ubayashiki.

kenji knew that he could trust the young man and so he told him about what happened the previous day, and that he had a daughter.

days had pass, kenji was only getting worst. the physician was consulted and it turns out kenji was stabbed with some sort of poison, and it was too late for it to be extracted as it was left for days unattended.

the physician was also shocked at how much kenji had last ever since he got stabbed. five days after being stabbed without knowing that it has poison and still living up till this day.

how incredible indeed.

on the sixth day, kenji didn't show any sign of movement when he was being woken up. that was the day that he died, and the day that the first snow fell.

"i have a daughter by the name y/n kamado. i let her use my wife's last name in order to protect her from muzan. he intended to finish our bloodline, so i made sure she was kept hidden."

"she resides with the kamado's, and she'll be back home when the first snow falls. please, meet her in my home and take her in and give this blade guard to her as a remembrance of my existence."

kenji's words repeated from kagaya's mind. he sent two high ranking demon slayers in search of kenji's daughter.

he had known the true capabilities of the tsugikuni bloodline and he intend to keep y/n safe under his arms, shaping and training her to become a strong and independent woman. so that once she have come face to face with muzan, he'll be dead for sure.

but unfortunately for him y/n was nowhere to be seen. the house was empty and all her clothes were gone, kagaya had panicked that something must have happened to her but a week later they found out that she's been staying with the kamado's.

kagaya had let those two high ranking demon slayers to keep watch of the kamado household, they protected the family until y/n had turned 14 where she's in the age of being capable of protecting the family herself and so he had pulled back the hashiras protecting the family.

and after two years of not having any protectors, muzan had strike again. massacring the kamado household, leaving only the two eldest, a sibling that turned into a demon, and the youngest alive.

the news had quickly reached kagaya, and once again had he blamed himself for pulling back the hashiras watching over the family.

he promised himself that he'd take good care of kenji's daughter and the kamado household but only four of them remains, and one even turned into a demon.

from that onwards, kagaya made sure that his kasugai crow would watch over y/n and the kamado's. he had set up a date where the two would reunite again.

kagaya sat outside his estate, the crow landed on his lap as it spoke about y/n's current situation. he thought about kenji's last words that was stuck on his mind.

"my daughter is no ordinary person, she possesses the tsugikuni bloodline that muzan hates extensively."

"may it took her months, or years to finally put an end to that immensely ill-favoured monster. that hideous paled skin of his that he despised so much would no longer exists once the first snow falls."

"y/n tsugikuni, my daughter who fancies the first snow. that would be the light for her to follow and grasp, and i believe as her father that she would conquer the evil and become devil herself."

"not in a bad way though."

even with shallow breathings kenji was still able to release a small chuckle because of the awful pun he had said.

"but when time comes and my daughter shows up in your door as a full-fledged demon hunter with tremendous skills and talents that could pass as a high ranking hunter."

"then do make her known as the sun hashira."

kagaya clenched his fists remembering the old memories he and his old 'friend' did. even for such a short time kagaya found himself embracing kenji as a brother, taking care of him for those five days before he finally rest in peace the next morning.

"i believe as her father that she would conquer the evil and become devil herself."

those phrase echoed in kagaya's mind for he have no idea if that were a good sign. yet by the pun kenji had blurted, he knew that it was in a good way. he would have just to wait and see for himself, and if ever y/n did try and betray them then he'd use force to bring her back.

because she's a tsugikuni who stands a chance to slay muzan once and for all.

i'm a what now-

someone from the tsugikuni bloodline.

yoriichi tsugikuni is my ancestor?

shaking my head, i glance on the floor before grabbing the roots of my hair. taking all the information given to me, is this why i was able to avoid muzan whenever he wanted to strike me down.

"i know this is too much for you but i had to let you know."

"don't hold this against us. i must apologize for all my past actions that caused your family to die. from your father kenji, to the kamado household."

although the feeling in my chest was heavy. no tears threatened to fall, must be dried and pushed back from all the sobbing i did yesterday night.

i was able to release all my emotions, the heavy feeling that was bottling inside my chest yesterday night. but a new feeling of heaviness comes by, knowing the full truth of my existence and to whom bloodline i am really from.

"how could i go against you when you had helped my father survive even for just a few days. i am humbly in depth of your kindness, and i would pledge my loyalty to you and the corps."

my mind had been fully set since yesterday. i would do my best and protect the people i love, and be of loyalty towards the demon slayer corps.

"i see."

"may your journey not as a mizunoto but as the tenth hashira become fruitful. become a hashira that would lead the younger generation with leadership and will power, fight for the people who you love and for the freedom of our nation."

"become one with your blade, continue striking and eliminating the evils of this world and within past time of a nation with no demon shall you become as gentle and as elegant as the first snow."

with those words, pure goosebumps surround my body as his sentences came in contact with what my father would used to tell me.

"i have great expectations from you, do not disappoint me, sun hashira."

sun hashira.

it has been only a few months ever since i've become a slayer that slays demon. but here i am now sitting and is in equal of the hashira's who probably took years for them to sit on this position.

i would continue to strive my best, and to be seen as an equal to them. i would prove that i am worthy of this title for those loud lousy mouth of immature slayers, and i would make them eat those insults and see me as a superior they'd look up to.

"your first mission will be with the flame hashira, along with you is tanjiro, zenitsu, inosuke, and nezuko."

i listened to oyakata-sama, a tea on the table set for us. i made him tell me more about the history of muzan, his last moments with my father, and the history of the breathings.

a few weeks have passed ever since y/n was promoted as the sun hashira.

the hashiras celebrated that moment by having dinner, and introducing themselves properly.

after getting to know more about y/n, sanemi had became less harsher. he would sometimes insult tanjiro here and there, but he had gain enough trust and respect towards the burgundy female.

on the other hand the serpant hashira, obanai iguro, still reluctant as ever. he wouldn't open up to the burgundy female, nor communicate with her whenever they pass each other.

y/n still lives with shinobu in the butterfly estate, but her own estate had been started after she gained the title hashira.

tanjiro along with his friends had been taking the functional recovery training still. they had show tremendous improvement unlike when they first came and trained.

y/n who had been promoted have been busy, she would train with the hashiras non-stop. her schedule had been full, and her rest days were only a day per week.

rokuta had been spending time a lot with aoi. although he would feel the longing for a certain presence, it was y/n's. due to her hectic training sessions, she could only visit rokuta whenever it's her break and it was a day per week.

rokuta had been healthy all this time. he would watch his brother train on the training grounds, his humor sharpening as he let out a laugh whenever tanjiro gets splashed by kanao, or whenever the boys would end up beated on the ground.

he's kind of sadistic, yet he's a mere child that could still change overtime.

"y/n-chan there you are!"

y/n sweat-dropped when kanroji found her hiding spot. ever since her encounter with kanroji, she wouldn't leave y/n alone to the point that she would hide from the pink haired girl.

"i've brought iguro-san with me, let's have lunch!" cheered the female as she showed obanai from her behind.

the burgundy female let out a cry for help inside her mind, on the outside is a fake smile before nodding her head and following the two towards the love hashira's estate.

everyday kanroji would search for y/n and invite her for lunch with obanai. it made y/n think that she's doing it on purpose to make her and obanai get along with each other.

but that wasn't the case really.

the two have been awkward to each other. they couldn't even mutter simple greetings without judging each other. they would constantly throw shades, making their companions uncomfortable for the tension the two have.

some kakushis who have noticed the tension even had the audacity to call it "sexual tension". of course y/n had heard about it and is clearly offended because she have not once thought of obanai in a sexual way, she's a minor.

within the weeks passing by, obanai would find himself staring at y/n more and more. even with kanroji, he would unconsciously think of the burgundy female, making him frustrated as ever.

that is one of the reason why he avoids the burgundy female. he knew that his feelings were only for kanroji, yet whenever he spends time with her those feelings were turning into nothing but dust.

he couldn't be falling over a pathetic burgundy female now, is he?

he knew that there is something that lingers within him that keeps him attach to the burgundy female, but he pushed it aside, not caring about it and focusing himself on loving kanroji.

the time passed by, and after a month of training it was time for them to head towards their next mission.

"there's no mistake its length and intimidating aura."

"it may be sleeping now, but don't let your guard down!"

i sweat-drop, staring at the creature in front of us.

is this really the demon? what an odd looking one if it is, such humongous monster.

i went towards it, tapping it lightly to see if it budge.

"y/n be careful it might swallow you!" shouted inosuke earning a few looks from the bystanders.

"no, it's a steam engine. you don't know about it?"

what the hell is a steam engine?

i look over the window and saw some seats, is this some type of transportation i
