Right now she was walking slowly by herself down a path. Her hands tugging her coat closer to body and her soft arms hugging herself to keep warm. As she walked she took in her surroundings. It was night time now and the buildings she was walking past were filled with life.

Lights could be seen, music could be heard from the buildings, and people could be seen having a good time. Seeing such a thing brought a smile to her lips as she saw such joyous scenes as she walked past. She was happy for them, for everyone who seemed to be enjoying themselves.

As she thought though she sighed to herself. She wished she could experience such things. Experience friendship and the night life. Or simply wished she could just relax and let go. To not have to worry or put up a mask that she had perfected over the years. She wished she could let the mask that she kept in place for so long fall. But she knew that it wasn't that easy.

She couldn't let anyone know who she truly was. She couldn't let anyone know she wasn't just Annamarie. Or Anna the quiet, kind, and yet troubled artist. She couldn't let anyone see past the mask she had. She couldn't let them know who she was. That she was now a creature or a creation made by Death himself. And she has been for years now.

She was now Death's Crow, or he liked to call her his little bird. It causes a small smile to wash over Anna. As she thought of her dear friend, or the only family she truly had. Her smile soon was filled with nostalgia and sadness as she thought about Death.

He was her brother, father, and best friend all wrapped in one. But most of all he was her savior.

She still remembers the memory like it was yesterday. The memory of when she met Death, when he had changed her, and when he took her in as his own. All she was was a young broken girl at the time. A girl who was cruelly treated by her family. Who were trying to use her as a sacrifice. A sacrifice to Death. They were trying to gain power by giving over Anna to Death.

In doing so they had to do a ritual to contact Death. After they finally had all the ingredients they were quick to do the ritual. But the key thing they needed to do was to kill someone. To have someone on the brink of death. They had chosen Anna to be that someone. Sadly they were successful in doing so, by stabbing her. As Anna was close to death and taking her last breath that was when Death made his appearance.

Anna still remembers her family kneeling, and hearing them trying to praise him then beg him for answers. But instead of getting their wishes they were all met with their demise at the hands of Death.

At the time Anna didn't know how she felt about Death killing her family. But as time went on she found it in herself to forgive him and thank him for saving her.

But as she was laying on the ground taking her last breath, she found herself being taken in the arms of Death. As she was taken into his arms it seemed as if all the pain and hurt washed away. For the first time in her life she felt at peace... and safe. Which were feelings she was not used to. But feeling such things caused more tears to fall from her dark brown eyes.

All Anna could focus on was the peacefulness and safety she felt while in Death's arms. She soon found herself looking up at the hooded figure that was Death. But she was shocked when he pulled back the hood that was covering his face. To reveal a handsome male with short ebony hair, pale skin, and crystal blue eyes.

Anna remembers the look he had when she saw his face for the first time. It was a look of sorrow as he looked into her dark eyes. Anna discovered it was because her life had flashed before his eyes. He had seen all her memories as he looked into her eyes. Seeing him with such sadness in his eyes though Anna didn't like it. She soon found herself lifting her little hand to his face and sent him a weak smile.

Causing him to send her a small smile as he watched her take her last breath. Her little hand falling from his face. He was sad because he was too late to save her. She was too far gone. Her soul was already leaving her body. Ready to move on.

In that moment Anna took her last breath everything changed for her. They say death always changes a person, and it was true. After her death Anna found herself never being the same.

But in that moment it was then when Death seemed to come to a decision. He felt selfish at that moment. Because for the first time in his very long life Death wanted something. He wanted to save Anna. He wanted her to live, and experience life. He wanted to be there for the little girl in his arms. Who seemed to have known nothing but pain. He wanted to show her that there was more to life.

It was then when Death took a hold of Anna's very soul. He then pulled it back to the land of the living. And gently pulled and pushed it back to Anna's body. But as he did Death took a part of himself, a part of his power and placed it within Anna. It was that night Death made Anna into what she now was. It was also the night he became a part of Anna's life. Taking her in his arms and walking away. Taking Anna with him to her new life.

A smile washed over Anna as she thought about her friend, Death. She was hoping he would visit her soon. So they could spend some time together in the land of the living. It has been a few months since she's seen him. Having only seen Death briefly and a handful of times when she visits him in his realm. Which was a hassle for her to get to. Her thoughts were soon drifting to things they could do while he was visiting her.

But her thoughts and steady walking came to a halt. When she thought she heard a sound of distress. Abruptly stopping she then listened closely and soon heard it again. She heard a faint yelp for help from a female in an alleyway near a place called Rita's.

Anna was quick to make her way and follow the sound of distress. She found the sound coming from an alley. And what she saw made her furious. It was the sight of a male trying to take advantage of a female.

A growl was soon escaping Anna's lips in anger. Which caught the attention of the male and female. Both of them turned their heads to the noise, finding Anna standing there. Seeing her caused the male to smirk as he looked at Anna from head to toe. Seeming to commit Anna to his memory.

"Don't worry I'll come for you next sweet thing. You've caught my attention and just made my list. Know I always find what I want. And I will find you. But for now where were we -," he chuckled darkly. Before turning his attention to the female. Expecting Anna to run off afraid. A whimper escaped the female he held against her will. But the noise was muffled by the male's hand. Which caused Anna to clench her jaw.

"Hey dickwad! I'm only going to warn you once. Let go of her or you will regret it," Anna demanded of the male without fear. As she summoned two reapers to aid her. Who stepped from the darkness of her shadow. The warning she gave the male didn't seem to do anything.

Which caused her to smirk as her and the reapers stepped forward to the two. The male soon turned with a growl of frustration. Seeing Anna still there. But he froze seeing two tall dark hooded figures behind her.

Towering over Anna behind her protectively but obediently were two reapers. They were ready for anything. Waiting for Anna's command. Both servants of Death and Anna. And were now standing tall with black smoke swirling around them. Their onyx cloaks flowing in the wind covering them. A dark feeling filled the air around them.

But Anna took comfort in them being there at her side. She was soon grinning though seeing the male's fear and feeling his emotions. He shook it away and wrapped his hand around the female's throat keeping her in his grasp. Who yelped as he pushed her into the wall. The female was looking up in shock and fear watching the scene in front of her.

"What are you going to do sweet thing," the male smirked tauntingly at Anna. As he kept his grasp on the female. Seeming to wait for what she would do, and now wondering what she was. Seeing him not let go of the female she tilted her head.

"I'm going to kill you. But it all depends on you and also your past. I will be the judge of the outcome. That is if you don't let her go. So, I will tell you one more time. Let. Her Go," Anna ordered firmly. She was seething now and was starting to get frustrated.

"Hmmm I don't think so sweetness. I always get what I want and I want her. Then you'll be the next one I have," he chuckled. Hearing him caused the reapers behind Anna to step in front of her protectively. A sigh left Anna hearing him before she spoke, "get him. Be careful of the girl."

"Yes Mistress," the two reapers spoke in sync with their deep echoey voices. Before they disappeared in clouds of smoke only to reappear on both sides of the male. Causing him to jump and swing at one of the reapers. But his wrist was caught and a painful yell escaped him. And both reapers were quick to get a hold of him.

As this happened the male had let go of the female. She was soon falling to the ground with a yelp. But she was standing up and running away. Once Anna gestured for her to go after seeing she was fine and not injured. She smiled hearing the female mutter a 'thank you' as she cried and ran.

But her smile soon fell as she looked to the male who was struggling. She was then taking closer steps to them. The only thing heard was the clicking of her heels and the males struggling. Once in front of the male she grinned feeling his fear. Grabbing his face roughly in her hand. Her curved onyx nails were now noticeable.

"I would like to go home. So let's get this over with shall we. You know they say eyes are the windows to the soul. Which is very true. So show me your soul," Anna smirked. As darkness clouded her eyes making them entirely black. Seeing her eyes caused the male to yelp and try to escape. It was no use.

But he suddenly stilled as Anna looked directly into his eyes. At that moment she was seeing his life. Pictures and memories flashing before her eyes. Seeing his childhood, all the wrongs he's done, his whole life.

Once done seeing such things a growl escaped her lips. As she let go of his face roughly. She was angry. No, she was pissed. Because this wasn't the first time he has done such a thing towards a female. He had done much more.

Glaring at the male who was now shaking in fear staring at her. Looking into her black eyes. But also the horns that were atop of her head and the large black wing upon her back. He didn't know where they came from. But what scared him the most though was the power that he could now feel radiating off Anna. He could feel it and it washed over him. He was now very fearful of what she was going to do to him.

"Please," he began to beg. But Anna wasn't hearing it.

"Shut up! I don't want to hear it. Take him to Death, tell him I sent him. Make sure he has a pain filled future in the after life. Tell Death I said 'hello' will you Ervin," Anna demanded at first before telling the reapers what to do. Who nodded and bowed their heads to her. She was then waving her fingers at Ervin with a smirk. Who was trying to fight against the reapers hold. A yell escaped him before he disappeared into a cloud of smoke along with the reapers. Both taking him to Death.

A sigh escaped Anna as she rubbed her face. This has happened at times. Where she helped people. She tried to do as much as she could to help whoever. Especially in Velaris, her home. She was happy to help. But it did take a toll on her. Especially when she looked into someone's eyes. She couldn't dwell on the thought for long though. Because without her knowledge she had an audience who were watching. And they seemed to have seen everything.

"What do we have here?"
