((I'm for real becoming too obsessed with him at this point. I've had a crush on him for nearly 4 months and this is my 32nd fanfiction of him I've written so far.
Summary: Falling in love with my oblivious best friend
Words: 1.6k words
I had a boyfriend and two best friends. I couldn't ask for more. Everything was just great until I ran into a problem; I discovered my crush on one of my best friends; Marv. I wouldn't be so stressed out about it if I didn't already have a boyfriend. It occurred to me just how much I really loved Marv one day when I decided I'd rob a house with them.
I stood in the living room of a stranger's house. Trying to look like I was occupied in dumping random things into a bag. Marv was standing nearby looking around at every little thing. He kept taking a single glance at something before then stuffing it into his bag without actually knowing what that item was even worth. Except I found it quite adorable. But then I started to feel guilty that I found it adorable. Because I already had a boyfriend. Yet I believed Marv looked way better than my boyfriend. And I couldn't just break up with my boyfriend to be with Marv. I didn't even know if he even felt the same way towards me or not. "Modesta, you okay?" I suddenly heard Marv ask, "Oh, uh, yeah-" I smiled before walking off to a different part of the house. I could feel that Marv was still staring at me even after leaving the living room. I made my way into the stranger's bedroom. I stared into the mirror and sighed. Sometimes I wish I never even caught feelings for Marv. Or better, I wish I never started dating my boyfriend. Out of the corner of my eye I glanced at Marv. He looked so handsome when he was just standing there. I felt so guilty for thinking that someone else was attractive while being in a relationship with someone else. I was too focused on my thoughts to even notice Marv approaching me. "Hey, Modesta." He walked up to me, seeming to hold up a loose piece of jewelry, "Yeah?" The diamonds on the necklace shine brightly underneath the dimly lit living room, "How much do you think this is worth?" He looked at me before looking back at the necklace. I took a second to examine it before answering his previous question. "Looks pretty real to me." I shrugged my shoulders, "In that case." He handed me the necklace, "You're giving it to me?" I stared down at the beautiful necklace, "Yeah, why not? I thought you'd like it. Do you?" I looked up at him with a smile, "Yeah." A coat of blush formed on my face. He didn't even seem to say anything about how embarrassed I looked. He just walked off into a different room. It somewhat pissed me off that he didn't see the obvious signs I was giving him.
Harry saw me just standing there. "Modesta." He sighed, "Huh?" I walked over to him, "If you like him that much, then just tell him. I doubt he'll understand any of the signs you're giving him." Harry glanced at Marv from down the hallway. Marv seemed to be trying on a random hat he found lying around. It looked so adorable on him. "It's not that easy." I looked down at the necklace he gave me, "You see, I already have a boyfriend." I awkwardly bit my bottom lip. "If you feel like you like Marv more than your boyfriend. I can work something out." He responded, causing me to look at him with a puzzled expression. "What do you mean by that?" I asked, "I can see if he likes you without even physically telling him that you also like him." He explained while I slowly nodded. I was taking a huge step in my life. So I really had to think this over. Either I could stay with my boyfriend and keep my feelings hidden forever, or agree to Harry's plan and be happy with Marv for the rest of my life. If I was being completely honest, my boyfriend doesn't actually treat me the best anyway. Even Marv treated me better than he did. "Okay, I'll do it." I breathed out, "Alright." He grabbed his bag and walked out the back door. I did the same before taking one last glance at the adorable idiot in the hallway. He must be so obvious that he never even heard me and Harry talking a moment ago. I asked Harry to drop me off at my boyfriend's house afterwards; not only to get a reaction out of Marv, but to also break up with him. And it sure did get a reaction from him.

Harry quickly noticed the odd behavior from Marv. Once Modesta left the van, he seemed less energetic and happy. He even let out an exaggerated sigh. With the walkman and spare cassette tape Harry had stolen from the house they just robbed; it was time to question him. "Marv." Harry started, "What?" The tone in his voice seemed a little rude, "What's wrong? You seemed so upset to see Modesta leave." Harry continued while keeping one of his eyes on Marv, "It just feels better when she's here." Marv sighed. Harry definitely knew he was going somewhere with this. He'll just have to get more out of him. "What do you mean by that?" Harry asked him, "You know-" Marv croaked out, "I just wish she didn't have a boyfriend. I hate when we're hanging out and she mentions something about her stupid boyfriend. I should be her boyfriend. Not him. I can treat her better than he can." Marv started to rant while a smile slowly started to appear on Harry's face. "I should be the only one to see her smile and make her laugh. Not him. He doesn't deserve someone as beautiful as her." Marv sighed as he glanced outside at the passing houses. Harry ended the cassette tape. Now he knew Modesta was definitely gonna love this news. Soon Harry stopped by Modesta's house long after Marv had fallen asleep. He stopped by her backdoor and left the cassette tape sitting outside. Luckily, Modesta was in the kitchen when he stopped by.

I stopped everything I was doing when I saw a shadow against the kitchen window. I slowly approached the backdoor and quickly looked around. My eyes slowly scanned down and saw the cassette tape with a note attached to it; 'I made him do it, -Harry.' I smiled and snatched it up before rushing back upstairs to my room. I turned my entire room inside out until I found my walkman inside the drawer of my nightstand. Then I took out the Led Zeppelin tape that was already inside, replacing it with the tape Harry recorded. "Okay, let's do this." I pressed play on the tape and was completely lovestruck from the words Marv was saying. I never even knew he liked me that much. He never even showed any signs. But that was probably because I already had a boyfriend and he thought I'd never like him back because of it. Now I so badly wanted to see Marv right now. Except Marv was probably sleeping right now anyway. So I'd have to anticipate till the next morning. Not like I'm going to be able to sleep after hearing that exciting news.
The second I woke up the next morning; I immediately changed and got ready before practically skipping downstairs. The cool morning breeze blew through my hair as my eyes scanned the neighborhood. Their van was parked across the street from my house. I wondered if Harry purposely did that. I leaped off the porch and darted towards their van. Marv in the passenger seat looked confused as to why I looked so excited. He got out of the van just as I finally made it over to him. I practically jumped into his arms; my legs cradling around his waist while I hugged him as tightly as possible. "M-Modesta?" He sounded really embarrassed, "Marv!" I cheered, "What's the occasion?" He smiled at me, "I love you. That's the occasion." I watched the shocked expression slowly make its way onto his face. "W-Wait, really? Don't you have a boyfriend?" He asked me, "I do have a boyfriend and it's you." I smiled at him until my face hurt. "That was so clever." Then Marv suddenly kissed me. Completely ignoring the fact that we were standing in the middle of the neighborhood, plus Harry was also watching. But Harry looked more proud of Marv instead of acting disgusted.
Afterwards Marv just stared into my eyes. "What was that for?" He smiled at me, "This." I reached into my pocket and pulled out the cassette tape Harry gave me. His eyes widened at the note taped onto it. "He recorded that?" His eyes slowly scanned over to Harry who was trying his hardest not to start laughing. I giggled at the shocked expression Marv displayed on his face. "Look on the bright side," I grabbed the side of Marv's face and made him look towards me, "You have a girlfriend now." I continued once his eyes were locked onto mine, "Besides, what you said on that tape was the sweetest thing someone has ever said to me." My eyes started to water just thinking about those sweet words, "I really did mean them if that makes you feel better." Marv smiled at me. My response was to hug him even tighter.
