(Got Jing Yuan on my alt)
(Now I got Blade guaranteed on my main ๐)
Y/n wasn't lazy.
Not at all.
She just didn't pay boring things any mind.
If something didn't involve fighting, starting fights, potentially ending up in a fight, witnessing a fight, instigating, or something that could make y/n see stars during the day time, then she didn't bother with it.
She did enjoy other things that didn't involve fighting.
Like hanging out in March 7th's room (she always had yummy snacks there, and the plushies she kept were the perfect punching bags), drinking coffee with Himeko was pretty nice as well, bitter coffee or not, and y/n would sometimes spend hours asking Welt to show her a bunch of episodes of shows and animated series from his world.
And Dan Heng... well, y/n sometimes helped him out with the Data Bank, but any time spent with him was mostly silent. Not the uncomfortable silence that would leave her uneasy, but the comfy and pleasant silence one would enjoy with a dear friend.
See? Y/n did do productive things. So she wasn't lazy at all! If it interested her, she'd do it. But... that was the problem. It had to pique her interest if she was going to do it.
Otherwise... nah.
"M-Miss Y/n! Do something!"
"Hm? Do what?"
Y/n gave the cornered researchers a curious look as a couple of Antimatter Legion creatures surrounded them, leaving them with no way of escape.
The only reason y/n had gotten off the Astral Express with her companions was because Dฬถaฬถnฬถ Hฬถeฬถnฬถgฬถ aฬถsฬถkฬถeฬถdฬถ Herta Space Station was being attacked by the Anti Matter Legion and she wanted to ensure that her companions wouldn't be harmed.
The only weapon she had was a sword that'd been broken in half, the top half missing and its location unknown to the young woman, basically making it useless.
It was fine, though.
She kept it around for the aesthetic anyways.
"Can't you fight them off?"
"I'm afraid not. It's very detrimental to my health, you see, so I'd rather not cause myself any more trouble."
"But... but aren't you the Astral Express's Train Guard?!" one of the researchers demanded, "You're not doing very much guarding right now...!"
"Ah, but Dan Heng is the train guard this week." the h/c haired woman mumbled with a single, slow blink, "I'm just the Archivist at this time, so..."
The researchers stared at the woman in shock before one collapsed with a soft, "We're so dead..."
She faces the Antimatter Legion again, her soft and puzzled expression becoming a bit more serious, 'I would love to fight, honestly, but I'm really in no condition to do so. Maybe I should've listened to Mr. Yang about not leaving the Express.'
Quiet weeps reached the young woman's ears, the sons coming from one of the little kid researchers who had gotten cornered along with her. The little girl was clinging to another researcher, crying quietly.
Oh dear...
"I guess I could push myself this time." y/n mumbled with a small frown, "I'll be needing a nap, though."
Messy. Combat was always messy.
When y/n didn't have a weapon available, something sharp that could end an enemy quickly or something with powerful blunt force, she had to find an alternative.
The quickest, and most troublesome, was her own body. Highly effective, but still a bit of a hassle.
She was only up against five Voidrangers. Two Reavers, two Eliminators and one Distorter. If y/n wanted to end the fight quickly, she'd have to get rid of them all quickly. Perhaps the leader first?
That'd be the Distorter, right?
'Only one way to find out.' y/n thought simply before lunging forward, putting on a burst of speed that allowed her to completely blitz the floating creature.
The thing began to shout some sort of command, not that y/n could understand it, but she did understand the choking noise that left it instead when she jabbed her elbow into where she guessed its stomach was.
The moment her elbow made contact, the impact seemed to ripple through it before a gaping hole was blasted right into the creature. Blew its damn back outโ literally.
It fell to the ground, leaving the group of researchers as well as the four other creatures standing there in shock.
Y/n paused, before glancing back with raised brow.
"Huh? Shouldn't the other four be dead now?"
Right on cue, the four other creatures had holes blasted into their guts before they even knew what happened to them. They all dropped to the ground, disintegrating and dissipating into nothingness as y/n dusted off her hands.
Antimatter Legion enemies... she preferred them.
They weren't messy.
Y/n stared at her hands for a long moment before turning it the group of researchers with a smile, "Now, let's get you all to the master control zone, shall we?"
There wasn't much trouble on the way to the elevator, y/n making quick work of any enemies that popped up until they finally reached the elevator.
She was provided a key card to open it, such reliable little researchers, and successfully brought them all to the master control zone without any casualties or injuries.
At least... with the researchers.
Y/n sucked her teeth in annoyance, scowling at the burn on the side of her neck. An Eliminator managed to shoot her as she was whisking one of the child researchers out of the way, and that ๐ฉ burned.
"Thank you, Miss Y/n!" the researchers exclaimed before scrambling away to do their own thing, leaving y/n to tentatively poke the burn wound on her neck.
'It'll go away eventually.' y/n thought ruefully, 'I should find March and Dan-Dan now. Would they be at the Storage Zone, perhaps?'
She shrugged to herself, simply heading off to go search for them there by retracing her steps. As she was walking, she picked up a Voidranger's cannon along the way, twirling it and getting a feel for its weight as she calmly made her way to the Storage Zone.
When she arrived, there was no sign of the Astral Express or her companions, so she simply stood there and watched the stars with quiet amazement.
The sight would never get old for her, honestly.
"Oh! Look! There's y/n!"
Andddd the peace came to an end.
Y/n turned her head, a small smile on her face as pinked haired and bright eyed March 7th came running towards her with an excited look.
Dan Heng, Himeko, and a young man that y/n didn't recognize were following close behind her, approaching quickly. Had something happened?
"Y/n, you goof, you worried all of us when you disappeared!" March complained as she neared.
The h/c haired young woman opened her mouth to reply, but her look of amusement faded as she turned her head back to the stars with a frown, "Huh?"
She wasn't the only one who noticed something strange, Dan Heng calling outs to March 7th in a warning tone, "Wait, March!"
The young woman skidded to a halt with a, "huh?" right as a massive dragon-like creature soared through the skies a distance away. ๐ฉ, what was it again?
"The Doomsday Beast..." she heard Himeko murmur as her and the strange gray haired man approached, "It's really here."
March 7th, however, ran up beside y/n to point her bow at the creature with a, "Hey! Get down here!"
Y/n gave her a bewildered look.
Regardless, the Doomsday Beast did exactly as March 7th asked and landed on the side of the platform, letting out a resounding roar that seemed to shake the very space station.
Y/n gave March 7th a glare, to which the other woman merely smiled awkwardly with a, "Hehe, my bad..."
She shook her head, backing off with her hands raised, "You guys got this, I'm off train guard duty this week."
"Seriously?!" March 7th demanded as y/n took to figuring out how the cannon worked, brows furrowed.
She simply stood off to the side as her companions were battling it out with the Doomsday beast in the background. How did the damn thing work anyways?
Did it need to be used by a Voidranger?
She continued fidgeting with it as the battle behind her continued, a pensive little look on her face, unaware as the boss battle behind her went into phase two.
"No... that doesn't work... not that either. Um..."
Damn, what were they shouting back there for?
Suddenly, a burst of energy knocked the damned cannon right out of y/n's hand followed by someone screaming. She didn't recognize the voice, and automatically guessed it was the gray haired dude.
Curious, y/n to look back to see what was happening, but only looked in time to see Welt bonk the gray haired dude on the center of his forehead with his cane and knock him out. The hell?
March 7th was the one to catch the strange dude, looking rather worried, "Mr. Yang! Is he-?"
"He's okay now." Welt replied simply (holy ๐ฉ, this man could literally just breathe and I'd start applauding), "Let's talk somewhere else."
Y/n blinked once, then twice.
She was curious, but she also wanted a nap.
Decisions, decisions.
"Y/n!" March 7th called out, "Help me carry him!"
Y/n waited for a moment, before turning away with a, "No thanks, I'm going back to the Express."
"Seriously?!"
"Yes, I'm tired."

In the end, March 7th grabbed y/n by the ear to keep her from wandering after Welt, then berated her until y/n got sick of being scolded and agreed to help her carry the Stellaron dude back to the master control zone.
Caelus was his name, according to March 7th.
As soon as she finished helping haphazardly dragging Caelus to their destination, she hurried right back to the Astral Express and immediately caught a nap on one of the couches in the parlor car.
Unfortunately, it was rather short lived.
"Hey, y/n, wake up!"
...
"Come onnn, get up already!"
...
"Y/nnnn, Mr. Yang is calling for you!"
Y/n sat up, immediately awake and alert, only to find a very smug looking March 7th standing there with Caelus.
"Gotcha." the pink haired woman chimed.
Y/n scowled back, "๐ you."
"Caelus, this is y/n! Our part time Archivist, part time Train Guard, and full time Mr. Yang simp." March 7th hummed, "She looks a little mean, but she's a pretty decent person. I'm sure you two could get along easily enough!"
The h/c haired woman narrowed her eyes, "Couldn't you find a better way to introduce me? My name would've been enough, y'know?"
"Ah, but that's too boring!" March 7th huffed.
Y/n rolled her eyes, glancing at Caelus with a, "So, you've decided to join the Astral Express. You sure this is what you want to do? March is a total nutcase, peace will cease to exist the moment you start living in the same place as her."
"Hey!"
"Well, I figured dealing with her would be better than being studied like some kind of lab experiment by that puppet midget..." Caelus said thoughtfully before shrugging with a little neutral look, "That, and the pros outweighed the cons."
He looked elsewhere, y/n followed his gaze.
Ah, Welt and Himeko.
"Respect." y/n hummed in approval.
March 7th could only facepalm herself as y/n and Caelus bumped fists, wearing the same blank yet knowing expression.
'Great. Now there's two.'
As soon as March 7th retreated, seemingly not wanting to witness the two of them simping for Welt and Himeko, Caelus took a seat beside her.
"A Stellaron, huh?" y/n whispered to him.
Caelus nodded, "Yeah, I guess."
"Well, my dear hydrogen bomb friendโ"
"Hydrogen bomb???"
"Everyone on the Astral Express has their issues, so don't you worry! I'm sure that Stellaron won't be causing any problems!" y/n declared as she gave Caelus a smack on the back.
"Everyone as their issues, huh?" Caelus echoed before pointing at y/n who smacked his finger out of the way, "What about your issues?"
"Erm... can't think of anything since I'm perfect in every way possible." y/n muttered to herself, earning a skeptical look from Caelus before speaking up, "Ah, yes. Before I boarded the Astral Express, I was a Cloud Knight belonging to one of the Xianzhou Alliance's ships. Don't remember which one, but I do remember going out on an expedition of some kind."
"An expedition... I'm guessing it didn't go well?"
"Hardly."
Y/n leaned back and against the couch with a sigh, her eyes moving up to the giant whale made of lights up above, "Don't remember the details, only feeling. I remember feeling like my veins were on fire, wanting nothing more than to finish my mission and then... nothing. I felt nothing."
She took notice of the odd look Caelus was giving her and chuckled quietly with a shake of her head.
"Next thing I knew, Mr. Yang and Miss Himeko's fine ๐ selves were freeing me from a tree in the middle of some deserted planet. Oh yeah, Dan Heng was there too." y/n chimed, "My issue is a mystery to me, but it keeps me going even when I'm in no condition to be doing anything at all, but it makes me seriously exhausted by the time I finish what I want to do. I don't know how it got there, but I sure as hell don't want it either."
"Soooo coffee, basically." Caelus decided.
"Pretty much." y/n tilted her head with a small smile, "Anyways, welcome aboard the Astral Express. We've got two hotties, an emotionally constipated train guard, and a pink gremlin who is our personal photographer. I think you'll like it here."
Caelus grinned, "I think I'll have to agree with you on that one. So far, I do believe that I'll like it here."
The two of them remained silent for a moment longer.
"Mr. Yang and Miss Himeko are the hotties, right?"
"Of course. Who else would I be talking about, tf?"
(Welt ruined my chances of getting Jing Yuan on my main but I'm not even mad about it, he's so fine)
