(Tell me why every time I go on Pinterest for some Gallagher pics, I find this one mf saying some of the most out of pocket, down bad, diabolical things in the comments on EVERY Gallagher post)
Like a few other lucky Silvermane Guards, Zackery was relieved of his duties in the restricted zone temporarily so he could spend time with his family.
Of course, his mother jumped on the opportunity to put him to work and had him help out in the kitchen of the restaurant she owned.
He wasn't complaining, he liked cooking. Especially when he had his cousin James to gossip with him.
The restaurant was a little busier than usual, filled with families who had chosen to eat out rather than cook dinner together at home.
Zackery was cooking up something nice when James suddenly rushed into the kitchen, looking frazzled.
"Zackery-!" he wheezed, "They're here!"
"Who? Who's here?"
"Captain Gepard and Miss Y/n!"
Zackery let out a sharp gasp, covering his mouth with a dazzled look, "WHERE?! SHOW ME!!!"
After handing off cooking duty to someone else, the duo skittered around the restaurant before finding a nice hidden spot to peer out from.
There, amongst other visitors enjoying their food, was Captain Gepard himself. And seated at the table with him was the h/c haired woman which the fan club had longed to see ever since she'd departed.
"Holy 💩, you weren't joking..." Zackery breathed, "Do you know why they're here? Are they on date?"
"I'm not sure, but it looks like it." James replied with a shrug before his expression grew serious, "Shoild we call... them?"
"No, no no no, we can make sure the Captain and Miss Y/n have a nice dinner date without their help!"
"They'll be mad if they find out later."
"True... but Captain Gepard would surely become suspicious if he noticed all of us popping up around here. He knows that you and I work here, but he knows the others don't."
"Ahhh what a dilemma."
The two exchanged a look and nodded.
'It's up to us!'
Y/n and Gepard were not on a date, contrary to what the two off duty Silvermane Guards had assumed. They'd actually arrived with Caelus and March, only for the grey haired 🚚 to run off to the bathroom.
March eventually got worried since he spent so much time in there, and left to go check on him with some medicine in tow, leaving y/n and Gepard alone together.
"So... you are— sorry, were a Cloud Knight? That's what you said it's called, right?"
"Mhm. You got it right. When I was younger, I spent a lot of time fighting abominations of abundance outside of my homeland. Ahh... evil creatures that don't die, as I stated earlier."
A thoughtful look crossed Gepard's face, "Abominations of Abundance, immortality, mara... it sounds like you've all got a lot on your plate. And living for thousands of years? That's... wow."
"Right? Probably would've kicked the bucket sooner for good if it weren't for the people I had with me." y/n murmured before grinning, "For instance, that starry eyed gorilla geezer! He would beat the 💩 out of me if I broke one of his creations, hurt like hell. That man had zero business being so strong, but at least he fed me and gave me cool swords and stuff!"
"Excuse me?"
"Miss Jingliu was great, too! Whenever my Master was too angry at me to bother continuing my lessons, she stepped in and gave my pointers. Same with Jing Yuan! Though they kept pressuring me to apologize afterwards," y/n continued before laughing nervously, "Miss Jingliu had a tendency to drag me to him to apologize if I never did it myself."
"Wait, what?"
"Not to mention that bat💩 crazy Nameless. She shot me in the throat like— twice. Completely on accident but it scared the 💩 out of me. It was miracle I didn't die either time."
Gepard looked absolutely flabbergasted, "You... she shot you in the throat?! What? Why? How—!"
Y/n snickered, "Xianzhou natives have bodies that will inevitably return to their original state when injured. So long as one manages to survive a potentially lethal attack, they'll heal up with time."
"But... it comes at a price, huh?"
"Yeah. A hefty one."
There was silence.
"Ahem, you mentioned you had a Master...?"
"Ohhh right, I did. I... well— he's gone too. Not dead, but my Master is dead. He reincarnated, you see, but I still got to see him again. Just like he promised." y/n explained with a small smile, though it began to fade, "But, uh... he's angry with me. Understandable, considering I'm choosing to leave the Express."
"Do you want to leave the Express?" Gepard inquired carefully, "I mean, if that's what you truly want and something that'll make you happy, surely you should do it. And if your master, or... the person who used to be your master really cares about you, he'll respect your decision."
True... damn, Gepard was speaking facts.
Y/n inhaled deeply, then sighed.
"I... don't want to talk about him right now."
"Right, yes, it's a sensitive topic from the looks of it. I sincerely apologize for bringing it up."
"N-No, don't apologize, it's fine! Tell me about your sister! The younger one who explores the Snow Plains!"
"You mean Lynx?"
"Mhm! Mhm!"
Gepard's expression softened up a bit as he smiled gently, "Well, as I already told you, my little sister is an extreme environment explorer. She goes out into the Snow Plains and somehow manages to find really amazing places, even if it's way too dangerous for comfort."
"But she's good at what she does, yeah?"
"She is, but I still worry."
Y/n smiled, her gaze warm as she nodded, "Hehe, I understand. But she knows what she's doing, I'm sure she does. In the event that something does happen, I'm sure she'll know exactly what to do. Besides, she's got a great older brother and sister looking out for her!"
Gepard's cheeks warmed a bit as he cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly with a little shy look that caused y/n to chuckle quietly, amused.
As the two kept chatting each other up, three suspicious figures were huddled at a table with the menus covering their faces as they tried to clear inconspicuous.
They were failing miserably.
Pela, Lynx, and GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 001 were all gathered, eavesdropping on the duo's chat. Why, you may ask?
Well, for obvious reasons.
GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 001 was the author of a certain novel, prepping to write a rather... steamy short story in honor of a certain duo's escapades during the Solearm Festival.
He needed content, he needed to see sparks fly!
So far, he's only had a couple of stories from some Silvermane guards who had allegedly gone to investigate Goethe Hotel and found Gepard there with his mystery lover.
He got even better details from Pela, his co-writer and excellent illustrator for the book cover, but he wanted MORE!
That's where Lynx came in.
She'd heard lots about her older brother's peculiar little "friendship" with the h/c haired visitor from beyond the sky. After hearing rumors about them doing some naughty things at Goethe Hotel, and later getting the chance to read that accursed book GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 001 had written, she... was very ashamed of herself.
She had been converted to a Fanclub member and there was absolutely nothing she could do about it.
After being contacted by the legendary GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 001, she agreed to help set up an instance where her brother and potential sister in law— SHIT, I MEAN, THE H/C HAIRED TRAILBLAZER... ahem, could be alone together.
For content, of course.
Planning had begun when GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 011, an alleged psychic who could see the future, predicted that y/n would show up for the Solwarm Festival. Lynx got to work and found a nice spot out in the Snow Plains, discreetly dropping some delicately embellished details about it to her brother later on.
And then, it was time to wait. Just as GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 011 had said, y/n and two other trailblazers had shown up for the Solwarm Festival.
"Sorry we took so long, I think Caelus ate something out of a dumpster." March announced as her and an ill looking Caelus returned to the table, "I'm gonna take him to get some medical help, so you can go on ahead to the Snow Plains without us."
"But March..." Caelus whined.
"Shut up, Caelus." March retorted.
"Ah, that's a shame..." y/n murmured with a frown, "I hope you feel better soon, Caelus. I'll take lots of pictures!"
"Ugh, but I wanna go..." Caelus sobbed before turning his teary eyed gaze to Gepard with a glare, "You... you'd better not try anything funny. I'll have you know, y/n and I actually— OW!"
March had grabbed Caelus by the ear and began dragging him away as he protested, kicking and screaming as she removed him from the restaurant.
Pela and GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 001 high fived one another from where they sat, "The problematic trailblazer has been taken care of! Now, we can set our plan in motion after they enjoy their dinner!"

Dinner was wonderful, extra special thanks to James and Zackery, and the pair left the restaurant feeling satisfied.
They engaged in simple yet enjoyable conversation as they walked through Belobog together, on their way to meet up with Lynx who had rushed to the rendezvous point after losing track of time while taking notes with Pela and GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 001.
"Ah, this is great..." y/n murmured with a little sigh, "The atmosphere is so peaceful and pleasant, I could really get used to all of this."
"I agree. As much as I prefer to focus on my duties, it's nice to have a break like this every now and then." Gepard agreed with a small smile, "Before we head out to the snow plains, do you want to grab anything? Lynx told me she'd prepare everything we'd need, but still."
"Mm... no, I don't think so." y/n murmured with a shrug, "I think I'm all good, though I wanna grab a blanket."
"A blanket? That's all?"
"Mhm."
"Well then, let's go get one."
Oh god, they were late.
Did they catch on?
Why weren't they here?
Lynx fidgeted awkwardly near the road as she anxiously awaited her brother and y/n. Had they spotted her, Pela, and GepardxY/n Fanclub Member Number 001 at the restaurant?
Crap, she should've stayed away!
It wasn't that serious, but it was that serious!
The whole Fanclub was counting on her!
"Lynx!"
Oh!
The girl's eyes lit up at the sight of her older brother and y/n herself approaching, side by side. Ohhh, they were here! They were really here! There was hope!
"Gepard, you were running late so I figured you'd changed your mind." Lynx remarked as the duo stopped in front of her before she glanced at the h/c haired woman, "And you must be y/n, it's nice to finally meet you. My brother talks about you a lot."
"L-Lynx!"
"Oh? Does he now?"
Gepard's face went red as he looked at y/n, "I swear, it's not like that! I mean, I told her about you, but I don't talk about you a lot-! Of course I still talk about you, yes, but not like a weird amount."
Y/n gave him a wry little smile, "So you don't like me, then? I understand, Gepard, don't worry."
"That's not what I meant, of course I like you!"
"Hm~?"
As the two went back and forth, Lynx had to fight to maintain her chill expression as she internally keeled over in pure agony from not being able to fangirl.
'URGH, SHE'S SO PRETTY! AND SHE'S EXACTLY LIKE RENÉE FROM THE BOOK, I'M GONNA COMBUST!'
"If the two of you are done teasing one another, we should go. It's best if we get going now so we won't miss our chance to see the big surprise." Lynx announced before tossing bags to the two of them, Gepard catching one then the other before it could reach y/n, "Come on, let's get going."
"Big surprise?" y/n inquired as Gepard helped her out the bag on her back, "What's the big surprise?"
"I've no clue, I suppose we'll find out when we get there. Is the bag too heavy for you?" Gepard replied.
"Nah, it's fine. Thanks."
"It's no problem."
'JUST KISS ALREADY, YOU'RE KILLING ME!'
The trek out into the Snow Plains was quiet at first, Lynx perfectly content just listening to her brother and y/n chat a little bit.
She hadn't expected y/n to pick up the pace a bit so she could walk with Lynx too, smiling at the shorter girl with a kind smile that made Lynx's heart skip a beat.
"So you're Lynx, eh? I've heard tons about you from Gepard. Lots of good things!" y/n chimed with a gleeful look as they walked together, Gepard keeping a lookout for danger.
"D-Did you? Ahem, well, I guess that sounds like something he'd do. I bet he went on about how dangerous my expeditions are, huh?"
"Yeah, a little bit of that... brut also about how experienced and capable you are! He told me that you find some of the most amazing things out here!" y/n pored her voice, leaning closer, "From how it sounds, he's very proud of you."
Lynx's cheeks were immediately on fire as she gave the taller woman a wide eyed look, "R-Really? You think so? I can't tell cause he usually worries so much."
"It's an older brother thing, it just happens."
"Sounds like you're talking from experience."
"Sure am. Older brothers only want the best for you, so go easy on Gepard since you're worrying him to death 75% of the time." y/n chuckled, "Enough about brothers, tell me more about yourself!"
"M-Me?!" Lynx squeaked, 'What am I supposed to say? Oh, I'm a huge fan! I read a book about you and I think you're super cool! You smell nice— wait, why would I say that?! You can't say that to people!'
Crack
...
'Huh?'
Lynx looked down, and visibly paled as the snow— or what she thought was snow, gave way beneath her feet.
She let out a shriek as the snow beneath her feet just gave way, sending both her and y/n dropping down into whatever was below. Before she could fall too far, Gepard managed to snatch her up by the back of her jacket and haul her back to safety— only to fall right in the hole himself.
Lynx was left splayed out in the snow, looking at the sky with a look of shock before she snapped out of her dazed state and scrambled to the edge of the hole, "Gepard! Y/n! Are you guys okay?"
No reply.
'Oh no... I didn't know this thing was here! How could I have missed it? Did I wear it down when I passed through here earlier?' "Hey! Answer me!"
Far down below, amongst shattered ice and fallen snow, y/n was laid out on the ground. Her body was hurting from the fall, but he felt mostly fine.
She shifted about with a groan, wincing a bit as Lynx's voice rang out from far above, "Damn it, that hurt..."
Y/n quickly found that her range of motion was somewhat limited due to a pair of arms wrapped around her. She blinked open an eye, and then the other.
Holy 💩.
Beneath her was Gepard, his arms wrapped securely around her. He'd probably grabbed ahold of her during the descent to keep her from hitting the ground.
"Ah! Crap! Gepard, are you okay?" y/n demanded as she scrambled out of his grasp to get her weight off of him, into receiving a quiet groan in response, "Uh... well, we're both alive! Gepard looks a bit dazed, though!"
"Is he breathing?" Lynx called.
Y/n leaned close to him, cheek to friend over his face.
"Y-Yeah, he's breathing! He just seems to be unconscious!"
"Okay, that's good! Keep an eye on him, I'll go get help! Don't go anywhere— or, uh, stay right there I guess! I'll be back!" Lynx called before running off.
Y/n was left seated with the unconscious Gepard, giving him a little look of concern before sighing.
'Let's see what's in these bags, I should get him somewhere more comfortable in the meantime.'
(Wrote this 💩 with zero sleep and three hours before my alarm goes off so I'll come back to fix some stuff later lol)
