Isn't he the sweetest?
Location: Gorod Krovi
Night time fell upon Stalingrad. The moon peered through the thickening clouds above, as did a few stars. Beams of the moonlight lit the path (Y/n) walked. Her hands were shoved into her pockets, as she wandered aimlessly about the grounds. She kicked a few pebbles here and there, trying to eliminate the boredom.
Cold, was the gun in her holster. Though there was no breeze. Everything seemed so dry and burnt out by the dragons, which seemed to have laid to rest for the night.
Night watch was (Y/n)'s duty tonight. Though a comrade insisted he would accompany her throughout the darkened hours, she denied him staying up.
"I should have let him come with me." She mumbled to herself.
"Who are you talking about?" A voice asked.
(Y/n) almost jumped in fright at the intruder. She turned to face the man who had managed to sneak up on her.
"Nikolai, what are you doing? You should be sleeping." (Y/n) spoke.
The Russian walked closer to the girl. "Nikolai can not sleep."
(Y/n) gazed up at Nikolai, the moonlight reflecting off her eyes.
"I was worried." He admitted.
"About what?" She quizzed.
"You."
(Y/n) raised her eyebrows, almost bewildered. She crossed her arms over her chest, feeling embarrassed.
"Me? But why?" She asked.
"Well... zombies." Nikolai answered, shrugging sheepishly.
The girl mouthed an "Oh" before putting her head down. Her eyes closed as she shook her head without being noticed.
The Russian gazed at the glowing sky. His expressions never faltering from a tiny smile.
"The sky is beautiful, don't you think?" Nikolai spoke.
"Yeah." (Y/n) murmured, her voice almost inaudible.
Nikolai gazed at the girl. His finger tip went under her chin, as he tilted her head so she could meet his eyes. The Russian smiled, his teeth showing slightly.
"Like you." Nikolai blurted out.
(Y/n)'s eyes widened quicker then ever.
"You're beautiful." Nikolai smiled.
"Not at all. You must be seeing things, Nikolai." (Y/n) lowered her head once again.
Nikolai shook his head in disbelief. His hands lightly gripped the girl's shoulders, rubbing them in a comforting manner.
"But it's true." He chuckled.
(Y/n) was pulled into the Russians chest. The warmth radiating from his body felt so serene. She wrapped her arms around him, holding him as close to her as possible.
"I have not felt this way since first wife. I love you, (Y/n)."
"Nikolai, I love you too."
