THIRD PERSON POV

2nd Floor: Evankhell's Floor

The day before the Regulars ascended to the next Floor

Zin was in her black shorts and light pink shirt with Evankhell's symbol on its left chest as she was laying her back on her bed inside of her room, staring at the ceilings. With her arms used as her pillow and her legs hanging on the ground.

Tomorrow is the day they're going to the next Floor. Normally, they would celebrate but since Bam's gone, no one was really in the mood for a celebration. So, mostly all the Regulars are caging themselves in their rooms.

A sudden knock on the door made Zin came back to her senses as she sat up with her arms at the back for support. She waited for whoever was behind the door to come in. Soon, the door opened, revealing the Scout Shibisu and the Light Bearer Khun who's both wearing black shorts and blue shirt with Evankhell's symbol on its left chest.

Raising a brow in confusion, Zin stared at the two males in front of her weirdly before she acknowledged their presences. "What's up?" she greeted a bit rudely.

The two males looked at each other for a while before approaching the female. Khun sat beside Zin's bed while Shibisu took a seat on the bench in front of her bed.

Reluctantly, Zin eyed the two back and forth, wondering what was the serious atmosphere they have for.

Shibisu was the first one to break the silence by clearing his throat before speaking. "We have something to tell you, Zin," Shibisu said while staring at her dead in the eyes.

Zin pouted on how serious he was being. "Yeah, obviously. From what I'm seeing, it sounds serious." She was being blunt.

Khun sighed at the platinum haired female's as he ruffled his hair. "Let's get straight to the point," he faced her as Zin faced him as well while cocking a brow. "Rachel lied to us." Khun revealed with a straight and stoic look.

Zin blinked her eyes simultaneously in surprise. "What do you mean?" she asked a little unsure.

"Rachel's legs are fine." Shibisu said.

"What?!" Zin jolted up from her seat with a shocked expression on her face. She was abruptly confused and shocked, and perhaps a glint of anger was a part of what she's feeling from the news. Rachel's legs are fine? But how?...

Another sigh escaped from Khun's lips. "I met with Mr. Ro earlier," hearing this made Zin immediately turn towards the son of Khun. Khun looked up to her, a fierce look on his face. "He told me that he secretly called over a doctor to fix Rachel's legs when she fainted. But after looking at her legs, the doctor said that her legs...."

"....were perfectly fine."

"What..." mumbled Zin, she stared at Khun with her eyes wide and her lips parted as she took in this ridiculous information.

Feeling rage taking over her, Zin squinted her eyes as her brows began to meet. 'How could she lie to us?! If she wasn't injured in the first place, she could have saved Bam...!'

Noticing the sudden change of emotions by the female, Shibisu stood up as he tried to calm her down. "H-Hey, r-relax! We wouldn't want you to blow up this whole place!--" he warned.

Understanding, Zin breathed out and sat back beside Khun as she ruffled her hair in exasperation. Shibisu sighed in relief and went back to sit.

Pausing for a while, Zin thought on how they're supposed to continue climbing up the Tower in this kind of situation. She then tilted her head to Khun to face him. "So what are we going to do now? If everyone finds out about this..." Zin trailed off knowing that the two already knows what she's referring to.

'The team will fall apart if they find out about this....'

Khun tilted her head as well to Zin in order to face her. He paused for a short period of time before parting his lips in order to reply to her question. "We're going to form another team with Rachel, and let Shibisu and the others climb up together, leaving us behind."

"What..." again, Zin mumbled.

"Is that really the only option...?" Zin asked, a little anxious that she's going to leave her friends.

Khun let out a sigh, expecting this from the girl. "We have to keep an eye on Rachel and protect her at the same time. She's the only clue that Bam's killer left behind. We can't let her go that easily."

"Also..." Khun trailed off as she averted her gaze from the girl and shifted to the ground.

A short pause came from Khun before he continued. "Having to suspect she might've killed Bam...."

"It's up to the two of us."

"Aguero..." Zin called under her breath. 'Rachel....killing Bam...that's too cruel..'

Silence covered the three, not knowing what to say next.

".....Then when are we going to separate from each other?" the sky blue eyed girl questioned which was immediately complied by the boy with ocean blue eyes.

"As we climb up the Tower, we will split when the time comes. We will stay behind and make a new team, it will act as a boundary." Khun answered.

Zin frowned, not pleased by his reply. 'That wasn't what I was asking for...'

She sighed and laid back on her bed, closing her eyes. "Okay, I get it." She simply reassured.

"Then we should get going." Shibisu stood up and was about to leave, he invited Khun to join him but Khun gestured for him to go first. Shibisu was confused at first and hesitant but then quickly complied, leaving the two alone.

As the two were finally alone, silence again wrapped them just like usual. Then, Zin sat up and turned towards Khun with a blank look on her face. "Shouldn't you be going off now too?"

Khun pursed his lips. "I just want to tell you that....I'm here for you."

Zin was caught off guard by this sudden reassurance that Khun was giving her. She felt butterflies in her stomach and a tingling sensation, as if she was being tickled.

She fought the urge to blush and scoffed instead. "What's with you being all nice and kind all of a sudden?" she looked away.

"Well.....Von and Red aren't going to join us. They told us beforehand. I was just...worried on how you would feel, since they are your former teammates." Khun stated.

Moments of Zin and her exchange of conversations between Von and Red then came into her mind. She couldn't help but feel gloomy at the memory making her bite her lip to cope.

This didn't went unnoticed by Khun. "Hey..." he tried to reach out to her but Zin immediately yanked him off. The blue headed male widened his eyes in surprise followed by the platinum headed girl.

Zin gulped nervously before apologizing. "S-Sorry, I'm just...not used to you being worried about me." She said.

"But it's fine. I don't really consider you guys as my friends, remember?" she was being stubborn.

Upon hearing this, Khun scoffed at the girl's remark, a little pissed off. "Says the girl who literally cried after Bam's announcement of death..." he muttered making Zin glare at him as she was about to retort back but was caught off guard when Khun shot her a deathly glare. "Stop pretending." He growled.

"I heard your exchange of conversations between Endorsi."

Zin's eyes went wide at the sudden change of Khun's aura and his statement.

"You always lie, saying you don't see us as your friends. But in reality, you're just a girl who doesn't want to accept the fact that people are here for you, to catch you whenever you're about to fall. People who are willing to stay with you. And yet you still choose to act like we're nothing to you? Pretending you're better off alone? Tch!" Khun clicked his tongue in exasperation before gritting his teeth and running his hands through his hair.

This words made Zin feel touched but guilty at the same time. She knows that they're being true to her and they are real friends. But the betrayal she experienced was still taunting her, she couldn't help but think that they might do the same thing to her as well, considering that Rachel is being suspected right now.

Zin let out a shaky breath. "I'm sorry..." she admitted in a low tone and a whisper as she hung her head low. Feeling guilty.

Khun stared at the girl's depressing figure. This was surely a new sight to see. Zin being guilty, also the fact that she immediately admitted her actions. It was quite amusing in Khun's perspective, seeing her like this, makes him a little superior. Cocky bastard.

Just then, Khun's right palm landed on Zin's head, caressing her hair. Zin's hairs on her skin stood up once she felt the warm and fuzzy feeling yet again which is caused by Khun. It was a nice but irritating feeling, it wasn't like Zin to feel like this but she couldn't help it. Instead, she decided to just enjoy this warm feeling.

"Don't apologize. It's so not like you." Khun teased.

The warm feeling immediately left making Zin frown. "Damn you."

Khun laughed at her response. "Were you enjoying me caressing your hair, or the moment we're having?" he looked down to take a peek of Zin's reaction with a smirk plastered on his ridiculously handsome face.

Blush appeared on Zin's cheeks resulting her to yank off Khun's hand which was resting on his head. Khun again laughed because of Zin's reaction.

Puffing her cheeks, Zin growled back at the blue haired Regular. "Jerk!"

Khun wiped a tear on the corner of his eyes as he stared at Zin with a fond smile. The female only blinked her eyes as she took in yet another side of Khun.

'Why is he showing more of his nice side today?!' The female thought, feeling flustered.

Khun then stood up and approached for the exit door with Zin's eyes following his figure. Khun stopped once he was only in front of the door. His back was facing Zin as he stated out another statement. "Get some rest." And with that, he reached for the door knob and opened the door. He again took a glance at Zin and shot her a soft smile before completely exiting the room.

Zin, who was completely astonished, can only stare at the place where she last saw Khun. She was really weirded out by his actions. Could he be trying to make her realize that she can always rely on him?

Sooner or later, heat rushed up to her cheeks. Feeling flustered, she laid her stomach on her bed and buried her face onto her pillow as she mentally cursed at Khun for making her feel that way.

'That freaking jerk....'

Later after that, the female lifted her head up from her pillow and laid on her back, staring at the ceiling. She still felt guilty for what happened, she knew that it was a trap but she couldn't do anything.

She was the chosen one and still, she failed. She felt completely hopeless and a disgrace, and a useless friend. No wonder everyone betrayed and left her; that's what she thought.

And there began tears to form on the corner of her eyes once again. Covering her eyes with her arm ash she bit her lower lip to not let out a whimper. Gulping, Zin swore that she will find the truth and will make sure that he will avenge the 25th Bam.

Khun, who still hasn't left, was leaning onto Zin's door nonchalantly. He knew that the girl felt a lot of negative emotions and blamed herself for it. He doesn't know the whole truth but as he spent time with Zin, he felt that she was just like him.

A person who prefers taking all the burden even though they can share it.

"It's okay, Zin. We will...be each other's stepping stone, just like what I said." managing to smile, the son of Khun promised to himself that he will forever be on the female's side.

Ooohh~~ hehe. I definitely enjoyed writing this, it was cute in my opinion hehe. But it seems not too detailed tho, it seems rushed. Sorry about that. It's also pretty cringy.

The 2nd Series is now about to start! Jue Viole Grace is now coming peeps!! Hide your man, woman, dogs, cats, birds, or whatever because Jue Viole Grace is gonna snatch them along with your wigs!! Hehe.

I'm really excited to write this since it's going to be all about the Workshop Battle of the 2nd Season which is my favorite season and arc of ToG. Jue Viole Grace is such a thrilling character!! I'm excited on how this will go.

Btw, I wrote this in like exactly 12:43 midnight.
