I couldn't put myself to sleep. My heart was aching the whole night even though I've already taken my medicine.

"Appa..."

THIRD PERSON'S POV

A loud thud boomed in Saemi's room. Hana, the head of the maids heard the thud just when she was walking across Saemi's room. Instead of going back to her quarter, she went to Saemi's room and knocked on the door.

"Miss? Is there something wrong?" She got no response and she was already hinting that something's not right.

"Miss? Miss Saemi?" She knocked a few more times before finally deciding to open the door, only to see Saemi lying on the floor.

Panic ate Hana's system and went to take the girl to her arms.

"Mr. Eun! Mr. Eun!" she shouted, hoping that someone could hear her in the mansion.

"Hana, what's the matβ€” Saemi-ya!" Mr. Eun barged in the room and soon got shocked by the situation in front of him.

"Call the ambulance!"

Saemi adjusted her sight from the blinding light that was passing through the window. She looked around and found herself lying on the hospital bed.

"Appa, what happened?" Mr. Eun's eyes widen when he heard Saemi. He quickly called for the doctor before he could even answer Saemi.

"Saemi-ya, how are you feeling?" Dr. Kang arrived in the room and asked Saemi as he run through his patient's medical record. Dr. Kang was Saemi's doctor ever since she was a toddler. So, Saemi treats him like an uncle.

"I'm fine now, Samcheon. But last night..."

"Hmm. Did something happen last night before you had an attack?" Saemi couldn't form the words in her mouth. She was contemplating if she could tell her doctor what really happened last night.

"I-I was just exhausted, Samcheon." By the looks that Saemi was giving, Dr. Kang couldn't actually tell that Saemi was telling the truth. But nevertheless, he let it pass this time.

"I'm sure it was just like the attacks she had before, right?" Mr. Eun asked, half worried of Saemi and the business they're working on with the Byun's.

This shouldn't stop anything we've already planned.

"Well, yes. But this time, I have to check her condition every week just to be sure. If it worsens, we'll schedule an operation again." The operation didn't really affect Saemi that much. She was used to it. She's 21 years old and 21 years of having many surgeries doesn't really shock her that much.

"Alright, doc. Thank you so much." Mr. Eun said and bowed to Dr. Kang.

"Appaβ€”"

Saemi was interrupted by the ringing of Mr. Eun's phone. He didn't even bother to look at Saemi and just went out of the room, answering the call he received. Saemi was left with Dr. Kang. She couldn't help but heave a sigh as she felt hopeless of her father. She couldn't believe that her father was just gonna let her lie on bed, not knowing if she was really fine.

"What happened, Saemi?" It was time for her to tell Dr. Kang the whole situation she was in last night. He was more like a father than the father she has right now. She couldn't keep any secret from him either.

SAEMI'S POV

I was discharged the same day I gained conciousness in the hospital. It wasn't that of a big deal. It has become my routine that I would go there and just wait for what Dr. Kang would say about my heart.

Stupid heart...

Sometimes I would just question myself, why did I even have a heart if it would only give me a hard time?

My phone was playing some random songs on Spotify when it rang my ringtone. I unplugged my phone from the speaker and answered the call.

"Hello? Who's this?" It was an unknown number. Why didn't I even hesitate to answer whoever this is? My goodness, Saemi. I instantly palmed my face upon the realization.

"It's Baekhyun. Are you ready? I was supposed to pick you up." Huh?

"Why? Where are we going? Wha- why am I even asking you?" I groaned again at my questions. What the heck is wrong with you, Saemi?

"Didn't your father tell you? We're moving to 'our' house." It took me a couple of seconds to take in what he just said.

'We'? 'Our'?

"Hello? You still there?" I snapped back from my thoughts and nodded. Why did I even nod? He can't see you, Saemi! Ugh.

I guess my brain was stupid as well.

"Y-yeah. I was just getting ready. Yeah, see you." I ended the call just right then and made myself busy packing my clothes.

My father really does wanna kick me out huh? I'd rather get myself out of this rotten house than to be with him who doesn't even give a damn to his daughter.

"Miss Saemi, Baekhyun-ssi's already outside. He said he's here to pick you up." Hana knocked on the door and I immediately carried my bag and went out.

I didn't bother packing a lot of stuff. My father can just sell all of them since they all came from his filthy money.

"Where's Appa?" I asked Hana as I walk through the hallway.

"He's at his office, miss. He said he won't be back until tomorrow." A bitter smile formed on my face as I let my eyes look at the place I spent my life in for 10 years.

"Okay. Take care of yourself, Hana. I'll visit you soon." I gave her a smile and went out and saw Baekhyun waiting while leaning on his car.

"I was expecting you would bring a lot of bags.." Baekhyun let out a slight chuckle upon seeing me carrying a duffle bag. His chuckle made me confused by his sudden change of mood from the last time I saw him.

"You're okay with this?" He took my bag from my hand and put it in the trunk. I was still confused by how he's acting.

"With your bag? Pftt, why not?" He snickered but I only shook my head.

"No. You know, moving to a different house. Away from your family." He closed the trunk and went to the driver's side and opened the door.

"It's what they want. And it's better off this way." He gave me a nod and got in the car. I got in as well and he drove to the new house.

His presence was unbelievably comforting. I was expecting we'd have a hard time getting into our nerves because of our parents' stupid agreement.

"What do you mean by what you said earlier? 'It's better off this way'?" I couldn't help but ask. He must have enough reason to suddenly change his mind.

"You ask too much, don't you?" He slightly chuckled again and glanced at me.

"I-I–"

"It's fine. We have to get to know each other better to work this out."

"What do you mean?" What is he saying? What language is he using? I don't get his point. I thought he wanted to call it off and then he speaks as if he really does want to get married? To me?

He only smiled and didn't utter a word for the whole ride.

What's going on inside your mind, Byun Baekhyun?
