THERE WAS SILENCE AFTER THE STORM. A boy, a convicted raper had plummeted to his death.
The crowd rejoiced in that fact, but something told Visenya that this was not entirely right. It was this gut feeling, the bile that formed in her throat.
She had wanted someone to die so badly, and now that blood stained her hands she felt regret.
There was something in Lady Ganna's crying, in her ways of conveying a story that almost seemed rehearsed. That look and the praise she had given Visenya with disgust ripping down her expressions.
The dead boy had begged for mercy, he looked traumatized for the sake's of all gods! Yet was what done was done.
"The boy who orchestrated your demise lays dead, yet you don't seem satisfied." Jacaerys Velaryon would state as the two walked down the hallways of the Eyrie.
"I cannot tell for sure if he was the one who orchestrated so. What reason could he have after all?" Visenya would reply with furrowed brows.
"But Lady Ganna said so." Jacaerys stopped in his tracks. He was a man of honor, he'd believe any women who came to him as a victim. He'd defend their virtue and innocence, but heavens knew that he would never save Visenya from her fate, from what she was to become.
"And why should I believe her? Because she is a lady?" Visenya raised her tone annoyedly, perhaps she was wrong but she'd stand her ground wholeheartedly.
"And it is because I am a maiden that I know that not all women are innocent. We can cause deceit in the most gentle of ways, nephew." Visenya shot back. "I have met girls who were in these type of situations a thousand times, and I feel it in my gut that the lady conceals a secret below her veil of innocence."
"Will you be leaving now, then? Now that you are no longer in danger and that you've been met with answers to your satisfaction?" Jacaerys changed the course of the argument, he did not wish to argue once more. It had been enough for the day, and he wasn't sure Visenya wouldn't pull out that stolen sword on him.
"I suppose. Mayhaps Lady Jeyne will lend me one of her carriages, I am certain the woman has tired of me already." Visenya contemplated, had she been a nuisance to the Lady of the Vale?
"You know, you don't have to ask her for a carriage." Jacaerys smirked sheepishly, "and how do you propose I will be touring around with no carriage? I have no dragon! Only a unhatched egg and a dream!" Visenya huffed.
"Vermax is not big, he is quite young in fact. But...I suppose he could carry two people for some time." Jacaerys gave her a tempting look, gauging for her reaction. "All one have to do is ask." He added.
Visenya furrowed her brows, ride a dragon? with Jacaerys Velaryon of all people? To some it would seem like a dream, to Visenya it seemed like something she'd receive an earful of once she returned to Kings Landing.
"Unfortunately, one does not invite themselves to places without a proper invitation." Visenya hummed, raising her neck as she continued to walk in a slower pace than she had been. Go on, beg me to ride with you, prince Jacaerys.
Jacaerys rolled his eyes, "Oh, please." He scoffed, his pace faster as he followed behind her. He had no idea why he was doing this, had this forsaken woman placed a spell on him? Seeing her in armor, hands in the hilt of a heavy sword as she thought of killing him then and there flashed across his mind.
"Visenya!" Jacaerys exclaimed loudly, making the princess halt and turn to him. She tilted her head and raised an eyebrow and for a second Jacaerys was at a loss of words.
"...uh- will you please accompany me in this tour? Come with me, ride Vermax with me." Jacaerys grew flustered as he looked down the floor. He wanted to run away from her, lest she jested at his embarrassment as he made himself her fool.
"I wonder if I should accept." Visenya hummed, as if she had better options.
"Do not torture me, Visenya." Jacaerys shook his head, "I beg you to not turn me into a fool, not now, at least. It was you who begged me to stay, who said I was a familiar face in a strange setting, will you cast me away now?" Jacaerys walked closer to her, looking down at the princess as he searched for any hint of rejection, any glimmer of a chance.
"You asked for us to go on our separate ways once this tour ended, no?" Visenya looked up, she had never been so close with someone. Her chest rose up and down, she gulped and fuck. She could feel her walls thumping down and something breaching in her cold, bitter heart.
"Has the situation not changed?" Jacaerys whispered, fuck public decency. Fuck if anyone saw the prince and the princess of the Seven Kingdoms so close and personal when the princess herself had been betrothed to her brother.
"Has it? We never stopped arguing, and this hatred for one another consumes us wholeheartedly." Visenya replied, it was almost as if she tried convincing herself that this hatred was still there. That this desire for this bastard had not made her fingers travel to the middle of her thighs upon the hour of the wolf.
"That may be, yet I still come to ask to accompany you for the rest of the tour, yet you begged me to stay not a night ago." Jacaerys reasoned, his voice cracking in the middle of a sentence.
"Why trouble ourselves by facilitating the inevitable fights we shall have should we be in each other's companies throughout Westeros?" Visenya scoffed and Jacaerys closed his eyes in pure frustration.
"I do not know, Visenya! All I know is that I'd feel better having a maiden safe in my company, your life has been attempted once, gods know you may not be so lucky to escape death twice!" Yes, this was it. Jacaerys was a gentleman, and this beautiful lady was in danger.
Visenya bit the inside of her cheeks, looking down the floor and up at Jacaerys as a million thoughts ran into her head. Finally, when she decided upon a answer she let out a breath she did not she was holding. "Very well. We shall accompany each other during the tour, I shall ride on Vermax with you." Visenya stated as if it was more of a command rather than something purely of Jacaerys favor, she'd not give him that satisfaction.
Jacaerys however, was pleased with the answer he was given. He watched as the princess walked down the hallways with clenched fists, and a small smile formed on his face unknowingly.
