"Everybody get into teams of eleven and start practicing on the drills we went through in class yesterday!" their teacher said, who unfortunately is the football coach. Seiren locked eyes with Chigiri, immediately falling to his side. "Teaming up with the player?" he proceeds to joke. "Yeah who else am I going to team up with?" she scoffs, rolling her eyes as her gaze darted across the field.
"Mm I don't know..say Isagi?"
"He's being huddled up by Reoโ plus if our teams go against each others.." Seiren began to say, her eyes falling on the boy dribbling the ball between his feet before returning a look to Chigiri. "..we're going to win." she says confidently. "Oh I like you." he pats her back. A few others joined their team including Kunigami and Hiori. They begun their drills to which Seiren had no problem doing.
First it was the one on ones between everyone and their teams. Hiori quickly challenged Seiren thinking she wouldn't match up to him but he was proven wrong very quickly. She's just like them? He sighs, running up to her side, pressing his arm against her torso to balance himself. "Coach? Is this even fair? Shouldn't the football players be out of this?" one of the students mentioned making Isagi perk up at the question.
"Huh? Wouldn't that be even more unfair? Most of the football players are here..wouldn't you rather team up with them to win?" they then turned to Hiori and Seiren, watching how she absolutely obliterated the poor boy, scoring a goal from the halfway mark on the field. The coach chuckles. "Isn't that Itoshi? Does it run in their damn blood or what?" he laughs.
Seiren gives Hiori a high five, mumbling a good job as she panted, catching her breath as they walked back to their teams. Isagi watches Kunigami and Chigiri praise her skills but she was too busy trying to calm herself down to acknowledge them. She sat down on the grass, using her teammates as a shield from the sun. Isagi slowly made his way towards her. "Isagi! Reo! You two are up!" he halts.
Her eyes darted off to the two, standing up so suddenly after taking interest in their match. Seiren leaned herself against Hiori, her chin on his shoulders but her eyes were glued onto Isagi. He didn't get that recruitment for nothing. Reo tried copying her moves but it was useless, Isagi seemed to have predicted that and found a loophole, leaving him to score the goal. "I hate you.." Reo mutters, a laugh escaping his lips. "It's just class Reo." Isagi teases. The two boys went back to their respective teams after their quick match.
Hiori noticed her gaze until her hair blew into his face from the wind. "Okay move it.." he says, stepping away from her. Seiren frowns. "Oh but you were comfortable Hio.." the boy walks away from her but she decides to trail behind him, her arms out to grab him. The tall boy held a face full of disgust, knowing well she was just joking around but she looked too serious. Seiren was finally able to trap him in her arms, holding him tightly, almost suffocating him.
Hiori looked over to Chigiri and Kunigami for help but they ignored him, acting as if nothing were happening. The blue haired boy then pinched her sides, soon finding out how ticklish she was, a loud laugh abrupt from her mouth. Seiren's eyes widened, backing away from Hiori. "Hey..you know I was just joking right?" she chuckles nervously. A few students watched them, others too busy focusing on the matches to notice them.
"Since when was Itoshi close to the football team?" some scoffed. "She's probably just using them.." others laughed. Seiren watched as Hiori pulled her up and hoisted her over his shoulder, keeping her from trying anything stupid. Both Chigiri and Kunigami teased her, making fun of the girl as she tried kicking them with her feet.
Nagi was getting a drink of water when he noticed the scene, tapping Reo's shoulder and pointing at them. Isagi noticed this, following their eyes. There was this feeling that begun to spur, one he wasn't too sure to name. Her laugh yet annoyed expression when Hiori placed Seiren down, using her shirt to wipe his palms until she pushed him away. "Ew..!" she gagged. Hiori then rested his arm on her shoulder, his chin on her head while she rolled her eyes.
It was nothing but friendly yet Isagi thought it might've looked like something else. They're the perfect height. The difference between them was almost perfect, something Isagi had secretly wished for himself. Reo and Nagi both glanced at each other. "He's jealous.." Nagi whispered. "Mhm." Reo nodded his head before shaking Isagi out of his daze. "Don't worry. We all know she's yours." he said, raising his brows while Isagi scoffed. "She's not mine. She's my friend."
"Oh? Weren't you just claiming her as your best friend? What happened to that?" Reo teased.
"She is!" Isagi glared at him..
"No need to get defensive.." Nagi mumbled.
She's not mine. So why was the green-eyed monster shadowing over him? Jealousy surrounded him and it was the height difference that really ticked him off. If only I was taller. Isagi huffed. The coach then began to announce the teams who would go against each other. His eyes guided themselves away from them but his ears still caught onto her laughter. She wasn't too far from him after-all.
"You got lucky." Chigiri said to her. "We're against him." he finishes, their team walking onto the field. Some of the students chanted to the coach how unfair this match'll be compared to the others but he didn't really care. Seiren locked eyes with Isagi, passing him a gentle smile. "Good luck." she says. "You might need it." she stretched out her arms while Isagi rolled his eyes. "You're playing against me. Shouldn't I be saying that to you?" his words come out a bit harsher than he intended but she laughed anyways.
"Don't get cocky just because..you know." she tilts her head to the side. No one else knew of his recruitment except for her and his parents so she kept her mouth shut. Isagi breaks out into a smile. "I mean..who's like me anyways?" he smirks, nudging her arm before walking into position. He looked over his shoulder, catching her gaze and realizing she was standing as a center forward. Wow. Okay so her and Rin are the same. Isagi sighs.
The whistle blows right before she passes the ball over to Hiori. The first to score wins obviously but those watching felt as if they were playing an actual game. They're too into it. They collectively thought. The chemistry between Hiori and Seiren was similar to his and Rin's except this one had a weird spin to it. It was better. Perfected almost. Once she was able to get the ball back between her feet, she swiftly kicked it behind her to Kunigami, telling it to land right by his feet.
No..her chemistry with everyone on her team is just perfect? Had they played beforehand? Isagi kept his eyes on them. No. She watches us practice but she can just..this actually can't be realโ His thoughts were cut off the second she flew past him, Chigiri adjacent to her. Reo and Nagi were quick to follow up behind them. Kunigami and Hiori kept the ball between their feet before kicking it over to Chigiri.
Sae was skipping class. Honestly, he didn't feel like understanding the concept of statistics so he was up on the rooftop. To his luck, he was able to watch his sister play. Students cheered on for Isagi's team, most of them were fans of Reo so it was obvious who they wanted to win. Sae took a quick picture of the current situation, sending it to Rin who was in class.
Reo attempted at stealing the ball from Chigiri, thinking he was going to pass it back to Hiori who was closest to him but instead the ball went flying over to Seiren. Sae watched Isagi run by her side, trying to steal the ball away from her but of course she wouldn't budge. Her eyes were focused on the goal, dribbling the ball between her feet and pushing herself away from Isagi to create a larger distance between them.
He was starting to trap her near the corner of the field but this is where he seemed to forget everything. Isagi got distracted. It was her hair tied into a low ponytail, strands sticking to the sides of her face, her cheeks puffed out while her tongue poked out from her lips. The way she played was a mix of elegance and chaos. Seiren faced him, a smirk lifting her cheeks before angling her foot, pulling it back and kicking the ball just over his head. The ball curved straight into the net, allowing silence to capture her victory.
Sae huffed. "She stole my move."
"It's just a practice match.." some of the students mumbled against each other, feeling nothing but envy for the girl.
"You could've stopped me." Seiren said over to Isagi. "Maybe I let you win. Didn't want to feel bad." he shrugged. Seiren could only shake her head before her teammates ran over to her, jumping on the poor girl as she fell to the ground. Isagi laughed before Reo pulled him back by his collar. "We could've won..!" his loudly whispered. "Could've. She's just good..plus it's just for participation points." Isagi glanced off to the side.
"Sure. She's great. I won't lie but you got distracted. I saw it."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Seiren was pulled away by Kunigami, finally being able to breathe. She muttered a thank you to him while Hiori and Chigiri congratulated her. "I honestly think coach might let you join the girls team." the red head said, patting her head while Hiori moved her hair out of her face, Kunigami fanning her face to cool down. "I'm not interested in playing." she pants. "I just like playing for fun."
"That's..literally why you should join!"
The four laugh together before walking to the sidelines. Seiren caught Sae's gaze, freezing up once he waved at her. She quietly waved back as she noticed the gentle smile on his lips. Chigiri brought her back, passing her some water. She noticed the looks her classmates gave her, some curious and others unsure what to say. "They keep staring.." she whispers to them. "Maybe cause they're impressed how cool their class president is." Hiori pats her head.
"You think I'm cool?" Seiren wonders. "Are you serious? I mean besides you knowing how to play football..you're really cool Seiren."
Rin carefully pulled his phone out, staring at the notification his brother sent him. He clicked on it before watching the video of his sister scoring a goal during class. A smile played on his lips, more than happy to see his sister enjoying herself. He couldn't see her face from the high angle of course but he knew Seiren and he knew that she was feeling every emotion there was once she kicked that ball into the net. She's so cool.
And she was.
Seiren sat on the bleachers, her heart rate slowing down. As the teams coming up begun to play, Isagi made his way to her, sitting on the bleach below her. "You scare me." he proceeds to say. "Do I?" she poked at the back of his neck, watching him fold over. "I'm not scary at all." Seiren then crossed her arms. Isagi shook his head, rolling his sleeves up to his shoulders, leaning himself against the metal bleachers, his elbows resting behind him.
Seiren glanced down at him, his arms defined, glistening in sweat, almost shining from the reflection of the sun. She looked away before deciding to sit next to him, his arm natural falling over her shoulders. "My mom wants you to come over later." he initiates another conversation, changing the topic. She turns to him. "Oh really? For dinner?" she asks. "Yeah obviously loser." Isagi rolled his eyes, a smile fighting the urge to lift the corners of his lips.
"I need to take the longest shower when I get home though. I think all my perfume washed off." Seiren sighed. Isagi tilted his head towards her neck, catching her off guard as she tensed up. "No? I still smell it. Coconut right?" he pulls away. "Yeah. It's still there? Wow. Honestly what an investment. I love that perfume." Seiren laughs it off. "You can shower at my house. We have two showers so you can use mine to save you time from going back and forth." he suggests.
"You sure?"
"Yeah! You can borrow my clothes. I don't really care."
"They look like a couple. Honestly. How can they not see it?" Reo mutters in confusion, frustration almost. "Let them be." Chigiri shakes his head. "We should just watch until they realize that they like each other then we tell them I told you so." Hiori says. "Bachira's going to be so upset his mom forced him to stay home." Kunigami sighed. "He came down with a fever. I'd hope he'd stay home.." Reo said while Nagi hummed in agreement.

"Mom! Seiren's here!"
"How was school darling!"
Iyo ignored her son, walking straight to Seiren. "It was great actually. During class I scored a goal against Yoichi." she teases while Isagi rolled his eyes. "Oh? You might have competition for that recruitment Yoichi." Iyo nudges her son's arm. "I do not!" the boy groaned. "Anyways..uhm I'm going to use your shower Mom. Seiren'll use mine. She forgot her house key." Isagi quickly lied, Seiren side eyeing him. "Oh for sure! Let me know if you need anything Seiren."
"I will. Thank you." the two walked upstairs, placing their bags down onto his bed. Isagi searched through his drawers, trying to find something to wear. "What do you usually wear at home?" he asks, hoping to get her something comfortable. "Sweats. I get cold easily." Seiren shrugs, taking off her blazer and setting it on top her bag. Isagi hums, finding her a pair of sweatpants and a shirt to go along with it. He then reaches into his closet, grabbing her one of his sweaters.
"Bathroom's right across."
"Thanks."
Once she left, Isagi could almost pull at his hair but he decided to go shower himself. Seiren stared at the clothes, thinking they might be a bit too loose for her but she didn't want to feel sticky any longer. She heard a gentle knock on the door, luckily she hadn't undressed yet so she opened it up. "Seiren..I grabbed towels and a pair of fresh underwear and socks for you. These haven't been worn! I swear! Just figured you would've wanted to be completely fresh." Iyo says, gently placing them onto the sink.
"Thank you so so much. I really appreciate it."
"Of course! Anything for you dear!"
Once the door closed again, Seiren could only sigh.
After a while, Seiren had gotten out the shower, feeling better than before. Isagi had finished just before her, sitting in his room waiting for the girl to come back. She turned the knob, stepping into his room. "Oh uh Mom left you a bag to put your clothes.." Isagi said, pointing over to his bed. His eyes couldn't leave her. She was dressed in his clothes. The hoodie was a bit big on her but fit nonetheless. It was the pants that were loose. She had tied the strings a couple of times but they sat low around her hips.
"I'm taking this off.." she mumbles, throwing the sweater off as it lifted up the plain black shirt she had on. Seiren placed her clothes in the plastic bag, tying it up and setting down on her school bag. "She said dinner would be ready soon." he hummed. "Great. I love her cooking. She cooks so well." she compliments, Isagi smiling. "You say that every time you come over." he laughs. "Cause it's true? She's a great cook."
"What about your mom's cooking?"
"My mom's? I mean she's rarely ever home to cook so..your mom's cooking is like the closest to a mother's meal I ever had." Seiren chuckles but Isagi's smile falters. "Oh." he said. "Don't feel bad. It's just because of her work. Same with my dad. Sae did all the cooking." she rolled her shoulders back, knowing she was going to feel soreness in her legs tomorrow. "Was he a good cook at least?" his smile comes back.
"Don't tell him but..he's a great cook."
"Don't worry. I don't want to boost his ego any further than it already is."
They share a laugh before his thoughts interrupt him. "I forgot to exercise.." he whispers to himself. "Exercise? But you just came from practice." Seiren's face showed nothing but confusion on it. "Yeah but like my own exercises to keep me fitโ Once I walked in on Sae and Rin doing yoga after practice..it really made me rethink my life."
"Oh yeah they're insane. I could never."
"Can you help me out? Like just sit on my back when I do my pushups."
"Too much work.."
Isagi rolls his eyes, getting up from his chair and pulling her up. "Just for one set." he says, getting himself onto position as she carefully sat on top of him. "This reminds me. I should start hitting up the gym." Seiren says as the idea pops up into her head. "For what?" Isagi begins to push himself up, feeling Seiren hold onto his shirt to prevent herself from falling. "To get fit. I exhaust myself way too easily. I would go with Sae and Rin but they're maniacs and they judge everything I do." she scoffs.
Her eyes fall onto his back. "You can always go with me. I don't really go during the weekdays, just when we don't have practice. It's not too heavy but I do some of my workouts at home." he says as she wonders why he's not out of breath while talking but she keeps the thought to herself. "I don't mind actually. I just don't want to be at home all day..rotting in bed." she lets out another sigh as she saw the veins start to pop up on his arms.
"What? I love being in bed. It's honestly the best thing someone's ever made."
"I can agree with you there."
The two laugh until Isagi falls to the floor, catching her off guard. "Okay I'm done with my set. You can sit back on my bed now." he says. "What? No I was really enjoying this. I think you can push yourself." Seiren says, patting his back as Isagi manages to laugh. "Sure whatever you say." Then he went right back to it.
Seiren went on rambling about their class earlier and how she seemingly enjoyed it. Isagi tried convincing her to join the girl's team but she wouldn't listen. He knew Seiren was just giving herself excuses or maybe she just really didn't want to play. Isagi was close to almost done with his second set when his mother called for them to eat. He finished his last rep, allowing Seiren to get off. "Strong man." she said, flexing her arm to mock him. Isagi rolled his eyes.
"Yeah okay. Your arms are a third of mine."
"Oh really? Proof?"
Isagi laughed and Seiren was joking but he showed her anyways, flexing his arm out right in front of her. His muscles firm and defined right under his shirt. She laughed, pushing him away into the hallway as her mind went blank but she shook it off.
"What's taking you too so long? Your food is getting cold!" Iyo frowned as they say at the table. "She keeps stalling. She said your food is bad." Yoichi shook his head while her jaw dropped. "Mrs. Isagi, your son is a liar! I was just telling him how much I loved your food!" Seiren tried defending herself. Issei could only watch as he ate, finding them cute to watch. Iyo sighed.
"You see how she said loved? Past tense."
"Yoichi.." Seiren muttered.
"I'm kidding. She was stalling though."
"Just eat your food please.." Iyo shook her head, a laugh escaping her
