A/N: โ ๏ธThere is a part in this that ties into touchy subjects, like self harm and suicide. If you do not wish to read that part, there will be a warning!โ ๏ธ
This is by far the longest chapter (I think). Also, I hope you enjoy this chapter!

You woke up to the sound of your alarm. Groaning, you turned and put your phone on snooze. You relaxed again and slept until your next alarm.
Once it sounded out 15 minutes later, you stopped it and sat up. You yawned checking the time. 7:00am was shown on the screen of your phone.
You grumbled, getting up and headed to the bathroom. You took a warm, refreshing shower and brushed your teeth.
You made your way back to your room and put on your uniform. Then, the sudden buzz of a notification alerted you.
You went and grabbed your phone. Squinting at the bright screen, you recognized Hiromi's contact name.
Hiromi๐:
The boys don't have morning practice, we can all walk to school together
Y/N:
Sounds good
Hiromi ๐:
I can't wait to see you!
Y/N:
??? We saw each other yesterday, we're literally neighbours?
Read 7:20am
You sighed and tossed your phone on the bed. You went downstairs to get some breakfast and found your mom in the kitchen.
"Good morning, what's up with you?" Your mom greeted you. You blinked a couple of times before answering. "Nothing, just tired. Tired of life."
She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Are you sure you don't want to talk out your problems. I'm all ears."
You hummed, waving it off and sat yourself down at the table. She set a bowl in front of you. It was filled with rice and then she set down some side dishes.
"Thanks for the food!"
You ran upstairs and grabbed your school bag tossing it over your shoulder. There was the soft clink of keychains.
Last night, you were quick to attach the fox keychains on your bag. It was a cute little touch and made your plain school bag better.
You ran back down and slid your sneakers on. You bid farewell to your mom and stepped out the door. Before you even walked down the pathway, you heard,
"Y/N's here now!" You looked up and saw Hiromi waving. Next to her, stood Atsumu and a few feet away, was Osamu.
Atsumu was standing so that his side profile was facing you. His face was so beautiful and he looked so cool just standing there. He had this superior air to him. (Think of the time he side eyed Hinata. You know, that scene)
Osamu, at the side, stood with his hands in his pockets. He looked at the ground and you wondered what was even going on in his mind. He too looked cool and if you weren't in love with Atsumu, you would've crushed on him for sure.
Hiromi, was the only one facing you properly. She waved and had a soft smile on her face. She wasn't necessarily gorgeous or beautiful, she was more of the cute and pretty type.
You waved back and looked down. You were the only one who didn't fit in. They were all so beautiful and you, you were just mediocre. At least that's what you thought. (Don't be down on yourself, you are beautiful!)
Once you reached your friends, they all greeted you. The twins merely gave a simple "hey" and you did the same.
Atsumu looked you up and down and he seemed to focus on something. "What is it?" You asked confused. "What are those?" He said, pointing to the two keychains.
"Oh, these are fox keychains." You showed him and he nodded. "That one looks like you Tsumu." Hiromi suggested and nudged Atsumu. He looked closer and she was right. The fox had blonde hair, like his and a smirk, his go to expression.
"And that one looks like Samu." Atsumu pointed out. Osamu looked up at the mention of his name. He focused his attention to the keychains and studied them. They really did hold such a weird, close resemblance to him and his brother.
"Alright, let's just go now." Atsumu nagged. He grabbed Hiromi's hand and dragged her along. "Wah?!" Hiromi peeped as she jerked forward. She threw you an apologetic and worried look as she could only keep up with him.
You and Osamu just shared a glance and looked back at the couple. Atsumu seemed to turn and he eyed the both of you. It was like he was trying to irritate Osamu and make you feel sad. He looked forward again and you just stood there.
"Does he know? That you like her, and I like him." You questioned Osamu as you two started walking. "No, he shouldn't. He's really dumb when it comes to these things."
You kept silent and faced forwards. It's just become basic routine for you and Osamu to walk far behind Atsumu and Hiromi.
"So...did you get those because they reminded you of us?" Osamu spoke up. You turned to face him. "You can tell?" He nodded and kept a straight face. "Sometimes you're really obvious. Which makes me question why he...." He said, mumbling the last part.
"What was that?" You asked. "Never mind, it's nothing important." He brushed it off and the silence returned.
You four reached the school and parted ways. You changed your shoes at your locker and grabbed your science books. You walked down the halls mindlessly.
You were so caught up in your thoughts, you didn't realize you bumped into someone. You lost balance and fell flat on your butt.
"Sorry, are you okay?" You looked up. The boy had really short grey hair, and triangular, downward eyebrows. "Yeah, I'm fine." You replied. He extended a hand and you took it.
"I'm Ginjima and you are...?" You dusted your skirt off and made eye contact with him. "L/N Y/N." he nodded. "Soooo, you're friends with the Miya's." You nodded. "How do you know?" You asked picking up your books.
"I'm on the volleyball team." He responded. You raised a brow. "Oh, I see. They tell me about you guys but I still don't really know who you people are." He hummed and looked like he was thinking hard.
"Why don't you watch a practice then? Or a game?" You tilted your head to the side. "I've never really been interested." He looked at you like you were whack.
"Come on, you have to watch at least one of our volleyball games! It'll be eye opening!" He insisted. You thought about it for a moment and answered. "Fine, but we'll just have to see if it's actually 'eye opening'."
"Heh, you'll be surprised. Even if you don't play, you can get hooked on volleyball." He smugly declared. You gave him a questioning look. He ignored it and proceeded to speak.
"What class you got?" You looked him straight in the eyes. "Science." His face brightened in surprise. "Really? Is it Mr. Sato?" He asked.
You nodded and he smiled. "Guess we're science buddies. Anyways we should get g-"
*ding* *ding* *ding* *dong*
You two shared a look of panic and ran to class together.
You were on your way to English when you saw Suna. "Hey, Suna!" You called out. At the time you hadn't noticed, but he was talking to someone. Two someones....
He turned and moved out of the way, allowing you to see the twins. "Ah, Atsumu? Osamu?" Atsumu looked at you smirking. "Guess you can't get enough of me."
You cringed and walked next to Suna. "Hey, you two." Suna and Osamu bobbed their heads to greet you. Atsumu threw you a glare and you stuck your tongue out while pulling down your eye.
"What were you guys talking about?" They looked at you and shrugged. "Volleyball." Atsumu simply said. "Oh yeah, that reminds me. Earlier, I ran into Ginjima and he told me to watch you guys practice sometime."
"Gin? Really?" Atsumu questioned. "Yes, really." Osamu looked at you and spoke. "If you're free, you can watch today's practice."
You rested your chin on your thumb and pointer finger. Closing your eyes, you searched your brain to see if you had anything to do. You squinted and made a bunch of constipated faces. In the end, you came up with nothing.
"Yo, Y/N, you good?" Suna asked looking at you worriedly. Before you could speak, Atsumu cut you off. "Don't interrupt her Suna. She's trying hard to use her brain."
At the statement, an irk appeared on your forehead. "Say that again, and I'll hit you...." You trailed off. You were ready to throw hands and it was evident.
The fear in Atsumu's eyes when he stopped laughing was a treat. He backed up immediately and held his hands up. "Y/N, please don't! I'm sorry! I don't mean it!" He begged, looking prepared to run for it.
You calmed down, breathing deeply. "Ha, I've never seen Atsumu get like that." Suna chuckled holding up his phone. He was filming, as you heard he liked to do. "Yeah, you should see when Y/N gets really angry. Tsumu becomes the biggest coward."
"Shut yer trap!" Atsumu protested. Osamu ignored him and continued talking. "So, are you able to watch our practice later?" You turned to him and nodded. "Yeah, I've got nothing better to do."
"Great, guess we'll see you later." Osamu waved, dragging Atsumu along. You looked at Suna and laughed. "Let's go to English?"
He hummed and you two walked to class.
You stretched, getting up from your seat. English was a nightmare like usual, thanks to Ms. Matsuno. You waved goodbye to Suna and walked out of the classroom.
On the way, you found Osamu. "Samu!" He turned and faced you. You ran up to him and smiled. "Ready for Math like always?" He nodded. "I'm tired, I wanna sleep." You laughed.
"You always sleep in math. Nothing stops you." He hummed. "Your right, I don't give a damn."
The day was over and you were heading out of class. "Y/N!" Hiromi called to you. You turned and she linked arms with you. "Let's go home!" She gave a close eyed smile. You set your hand on her arm and she opened her eyes.
"Sorry, I can't. I've got something to do." She looked a little down but dropped it. "That's fine, it's not like I've never went home on my own. I've got piano lessons so I can't stay and wait." She apologized.
"No, it's okay. Just go ahead." You urged her. She pouted and hugged you. "Alright, see ya!" She beamed and walked on.
You sighed and felt a little bad for not telling her the whole truth. But technically, you didn't need to. She got the message and that was that.
You turned and made your way to the gym.
You got to the doors of the large gym, and reluctantly opened them. You were met with the smell of sweat.
You looked inside and a few boys noticed your presence. You recognized a few third years and some fellow second years. They appeared to be warming up.
"Oh hey, your here Y/N." you heard the voice from behind you. You quickly looked up and behind, smiling in relief. "Hey Suna." He must of come from the club room, which was just a bit away.
You stepped in and Suna followed after. He talked with you and told you it would be best for you to just sit on the bleachers. You complied and sat yourself on one of the lower levels. You awkwardly placed your bag next to you.
You heard a few boys whisper about you and you started to fell self conscious. There were a few first years who seemed to be ecstatic that a girl was watching them practice.
You sat in silence and got alarmed when the door opened again. The Miya twins and Ginjima walked in. Ginjima turned to the bleachers immediately and grinned.
"There ya are L/N! You better watch us well." He advised. His statement brought the twins's attention to you. "Watch me closely Y/N. you'll be impressed." Atsumu demanded.
I was already going to watch you.
"Is she your girlfriend?" One of the third years spoke up. He was the one you bumped into a few days ago. Atsumu spun to him. He vigorously shook his head 'no'. "She isn't? But isn't that something you'd say to your girlfriend?"
"Uh, I guess, but she's just a close friend. My girlfriend is someone else Kita-san."
You sure love to remind me, huh?
The coaches yelled at them to get warmed up so that they could finally start practice.
They all ran a few laps and started practicing some basic drills. There was serving, blocking, setting, receiving and spiking.
They started up a few mock matches against each other and you waited to see how they played in game.
You watched as Atsumu set the ball gracefully. It looked so effortless and he was so in the zone. Then, Osamu had run up and jumped, in order to spike the ball. He hit with just the right amount of power, as it flew to the ground with a thump.
Your eyes lit up as you watched every move they made. You also switched your attention to Ginjima as he spiked the ball with power and would often yell after it. Then, you looked to Suna, he didn't seem too enthusiastic or in the zone. He just did what he needed to and it was refreshing.
However, he used his torso to his advantage. He would throw off blockers by turning his body and spiking far enough from their hands.
You had no idea that the twins or anyone else you knew from the team, was actually this good. Somehow, Ginjima was right. Watching them practice was eye opening.
There was something special about the team and the twins especially. You were so intrigued. You wanted to see more and watch them play against other teams in real games, when the stakes would be higher.
Practice was over and it was sundown. You waited for Atsumu and Osamu, since they did tell you that they'd walk you home. You hummed, standing outside of the gym. You heard approaching footsteps and instinctively looked up.
The twins stood in front of you and you gave a crooked smile. "Let's go home." Atsumu suggested. You and Osamu nodded. You all started walking.
Unfortunately, you ended up walking in between them and it made you uncomfortable. You'd hoped to walk next Osamu only, but Atsumu kept on moving to your other side, 'just to be safe'.
The evening was still and quiet as you three walked home. No one said anything, it was unnaturally quiet and you didn't want to be the one to break it.
"...Y/N?" You looked to your left at Atsumu. "Yeah?" He cleared his throat and looked away. "Be honest, are you...okay? Like, for real?" He asked.
Your face showed your obvious surprise. You'd gotten used to his smug and teasing attitude, that this was new to you. You thought he'd never show you his soft, caring side again.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm good. Just tired and kinda done with everything, but I'm good." You replied.
He hummed unconvinced. He looked down at you with a hint of worry in his eyes. "If you say so."
Eventually, you were in your neighbourhood and your house was a little ways away. "Goodnight" Osamu said walking across the street. "See ya tomorrow, Y/N." Atsumu waved and turned too.
You walked up to your house and stepped inside. "I'm home!" The light was on in the kitchen and your mom peeked her head out. "Where were you?"
"I watched the boys volleyball practice." You simply stated. "Oooh! Is my little Y/N popular with the boys now?" She joked. Your cheeks turned the slightest bit of pink.
"Mom! You know it's not like that!" She hugged you and patted your head. "I know, I'm just pulling your leg." You pouted and she internally squealed. You were her one and only precious baby. You were the world to her and she just wanted to be a good mom.
"Go on, wash up and eat some good food." She urged you and gently pushed you to the stairs. You grumbled, walking up.
You got into your room and you threw yourself on the bed. You grabbed the nearest pillow and muffled your screams.
You were done with everything and just wanted the aching of your heart to be gone.

You got up and headed to the bathroom as you started up the bath. You plugged it and waited for it to fill up. You mindlessly watched and dipped in your hand occasionally. It was cold, you couldn't be bothered to make it warm.
After a bit, the bathtub was full. You stepped closer and breathed deeply. You stepped in and slowly eased yourself down. You straightened your legs and let your torso sink in. Your body adapted to the cold as you slowly slid further into the tub.
You closed your eyes and let your head fully submerge itself. You felt numb. The water was cold, but comforting. Maybe it wasn't so bad to let it take you somewhere better.
You stayed down and waited for your breath to run out.

Downstairs, your mother prepped your meal and watched the news in the living room. The sound of the doorbell alerted her and she went to answer.
At the door, was Osamu. He held a basket full of fruit and handed it to your mom. "Mom wanted me to give this to you, auntie." She took the basket and let Osamu in.
She set it on the dinner table and returned to Osamu. "Are you looking for Y/N?" He nodded.
"She's upstairs. She might be washing up, so just knock and check." She advised. He nodded again. "Alright, thank you."
He headed to the stairs and made his way up. He peeked into your room. The lights were on and you were nowhere in sight.
Next, he decided to check the bathroom. He was careful since the door was a crack open. He knocked and no one answered. He got worried and pushed the door open fully.
The sight horrified him.
Your arms hung just outside of the bathtub and your head was under the water. He immediately went up to side of the tub. There were no air bubbles rising up and his eyes went wide in realization.
