It was a beautiful spring day in the city, the sun was shining and the breeze kept you cool. You had met up with some friends from work to go out for happy hour. After having a great time and laughing until your stomach hurt, you headed out for the short walk home.

The sun was starting to set, causing a beautiful pink color to spread across the sky. You had lived in different parts of New York all of your life, and you knew the city could sometimes be dangerous but you had always been alert.

Unfortunately for you, the man came out of nowhere. The hooded figure grabbed you by your shoulder, a gun was digging deep into your side. You gasped as he pushed you into the alleyway, your mind unable to register what was happening so quickly.

"Give me your money." He demanded, shoving your body harshly against the brick wall. You felt your heart beating fast in your chest, your hands shaking. You hastily pulled the wallet out of your purse, pulling out a twenty dollar bill.

"This, this is all the cash I have." You whimpered out. He cursed under his breath, looking you up and down for anything else valuable. "The necklace." He yelled as his eyes locked on the diamond around your neck.

You hesitated for a moment, it was a beautiful gold chain with a heart shaped diamond in the middle, passed down from you grandmother. The only thing you had left of her besides pictures and memories.

"NOW!" His booming voice pulled you out of your doubt. He grabbed onto the chain, pulling your face inches from his. You closed your eyes and prepared him to rip the heirloom straight off your neck.

"Hey buddy! No offense but I don't think that's your style!" You heard a voice from above. You watched as he jumped down, pulling the man straight backwards, sending him into the opposite wall.

Your eyes widened in shock at the pure force of the pull. Blue and red colors caught your eye. You turned your head to notice none other than the infamous 'friendly neighborhood spiderman'.

"Are you alright mam?" He placed his hands on his hips, speaking with a forced deep voice. "Y-yes. Thank you." You let out a sigh of relief, clutching the necklace strongly in your hands. "Anytime." He nodded his head at you.

The man groaned behind you, rubbing his head where it made contact with the brick. Without hesitation, spiderman shot webs at him, binding his hands and legs together. "I've got it from here." He spoke with confidence, ushering you to walk away.

You raced home, locking your door and leaning your back against it. Something about him sounded familiar, but you just assumed it was from seeing him on the news... little did you know.

3 MONTHS LATER

"Bye guys! See you next week!" You yelled out to your friends as you headed out of the office for the weekend. It was hot outside, the sun beating down on your face. Your phone started ringing in your purse, and you shoved your hand in trying to dig it out.

You had looked down to search and suddenly a hard force hit your body sending you stumbling backwards. Two arms wrapped around you, keeping you from falling completely on your ass. "Woah sorry about that darlin."

You were met with bright blue eyes and a white smile. "No, no I wasn't looking." You laughed while apologizing, your phone call definitely sent to voicemail now. You both stood up and then you noticed a shorter boy standing next to the gorgeous man who caught you.

"... oh my god Petey!" You squealed seeing Peter Parker, the kid you used to babysit when he was in elementary school. His eyes widened upon seeing you, and he looked flustered. "Hey Y/N wow it's been a while!"

You pulled him into a tight hug, reminiscing on the years spent with the hyperactive boy. "I can't believe you're in high school." You spoke as Peter laughed awkwardly. "So who's this lovely lady?"

You felt your cheeks heat up just feeling his eyes on you, suddenly wondering if you looked presentable. "Oh Mr. Barnes this is Y/N she used to be my babysitter." You smiled and shook his hand, noticing how much taller he was than you.

"Well lucky you Peter. You can call me Bucky." You smiled at his sly remark. "Nice to meet you Bucky." You smiled while tucking a stray piece of hair behind your ear.

Suddenly the three of you heard a loud explosion erupt behind you, startling you as Bucky immediately moved to put you behind him.

When you looked over there was a strange figure flying in the air. "What the hell?" You nearly had to yell over everyone starting to freak out around you.

"Uhhh ok Y/N pleeeeaaasse don't freak out..." Peter starting rummaging around in his back pack while Bucky looked onto the chaos seeming cool as a cucumber.

"What are you talking about?" You asked as the three of you headed to a nearby store awning for some cover. Peter took a deep breath before placing some type of gadget on his wrist, it clicked on and encased around his hand.

You looked on with wide eyes. He shot a web out towards the chaos, latching onto a building. "You're... you're spiderman?" You asked in disbelief. "It's a long story... Mr. Barnes?" Peter was off, shooting webs between buildings on his way to the dangerous figure ahead.

You looked towards Bucky, mouth still open in shock. He gave you a lopsided smile, "Well, that's my cue. We'll have someone bring you to the Stark compound tomorrow, we'll explain everything."

Bucky started walking backwards as he spoke, hopping onto a motorcycle. You couldn't help but laugh at what was going on around you, the little boy you once knew was now out saving the world.

"It was lovely to meet you Y/N" Bucky saluted you and winked before speeding off down the road. You watched for a few more moments as Peter and Bucky drove the chaos away from civilians.

"Oh my god..."

THE NEXT DAY

A fancy limo had come to your apartment to escort you to the compound, a man named Happy drove you. He was very nice and told you what to expect when you arrived. You couldn't help but feel nervous about meeting these super humans.

You also couldn't help but wonder if anyone knew about Peter... surely the world didn't but did his aunt? His friends? And last but not least you couldn't help but think about Bucky, his calm demeanor yesterday made you feel safe, like he wouldn't let anything happen to you.

Happy opened the car door for you with a smile and led you into the compound where you saw the familiar faces, Tony Stark, Captain America, Black Widow... you still felt like yesterday was a dream and you had yet to wake up.

"Y/N! I can explain." Peter starting stammering on towards you and you watched with wild eyes as he tried to explain everything to you that has happened to him since taking on this role. "Ok kid Jesus you're gonna scare the woman."

Tony rolled his eyes behind Peter as if this was a normal occurrence, letting you know that this was still the same talkative kid you knew years ago. "Does May know?" You asked concerned, knowing the woman would probably have a stroke seeing what you had.

"Yes she knows, and so does Ned but thats it, so you've gotta keep it a secret!" You laughed and pulled him into a hug, his shoulders tense in confusion. "I always knew you would do something great Petey." He let out a small laugh, wrapping his arms around you.

"Oh I am so calling you Petey now." Natasha snickered from the opposite side of the room. You pulled away and let out a big huff, "this is still so crazy." You waved your hands around looking at everyone.

"Need a glass of water?" You heard the only other voice you know speak. You turned to see Bucky gesturing towards the kitchen. "That would be great." You started to follow him and he smiled in contempt.

"You're the... winter soldier right?" You asked as you took sips from the glass. Something in his attitude changed and you felt you had made a mistake. "I'm not that person anymore." He nodded.

"Well after last night I looked all of you up, I know you're not that anymore, it was never you." You smiled at him which thankfully reassured him. "So you looked me up huh?" He couldn't help but you tease you.

"Well- I- yeah..." You laughed knowing you couldn't get out of this awkward situation. "You looked familiar and obviously Peter is god damn spiderman so I figured you were someone." You explained as Bucky jokingly gave you an unsure face, causing the both of you to laugh.

"You might've also been a little cute." You admitted, taking another sip of water nonchalantly. Now it was Bucky turns to feel awkward. He cleared his throat. "Only a little?" You laughed, patting his shoulder before walking away.

You could tell you and Bucky were going to get along just fine.
