shadows along the path. Mikey and Neutron, ever decideding to be  the jokesters, couldn’t resist breaking the tension.

“Yo, Mikey,” Neutron said, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. “You remember which game we beat them at? You know, that one where we beat their asses.”

Mikey paused, furrowing his brow in fake confusion, even though he knew exactly what Neutron was getting at. He scratched his head for effect, drawing out the moment. “Hmm… Oh, right! It was that game where we whooped them so bad, I almost felt sorry for them.”

Neutron snickered. “That’s the one. We really did beat  their asses.”

That was enough to trigger Jason, who had been lingering near the back, quietly stewing. His face darkened as he took a step toward them, eyes blazing with frustration. "You want round two, huh,Bastards? We don’t need a basketball for that. How about we settle it right here, right now? Fists only, no excuses."

He clenched his fists, ready to launch himself at them. Neutron and Mikey smirked, but before things could get out of hand, Sasha stepped forward, sighing heavily.

“Jason, seriously,” Sasha said, her voice laced with exasperation. “Not everything’s about proving who’s tougher. Can we just be civil for once?”

Adrian stepped up beside her, arms crossed. “Yeah, you’re being ridiculous. We’re here to have fun, not fight. Just drop this shit  it already.”

Jason glared at them for a moment, breathing heavily, but Sasha grabbed his arm, dragging him toward the front of the line. “Let’s just get in before you embarrass yourself.”

Mikey and Neutron exchanged a look, quietly chuckling under their breath, though they knew better than to push Jason any further.

As they all moved forward, Jim lingered at the back with Adrian, casting a sideways glance at Lauren’s date. The guy had been quiet for most of the night, but the moment one of the pumpkin-headed scarecrows shuffled closer, his squeal cut through the air. Lauren’s date grabbed onto her arm, practically clinging to her.

Jim raised an eyebrow and leaned toward Adrian. “Uh… did he just squeal?”

Adrian stifled a laugh, shooting him a look that said, let it go. “Ignore it,” she whispered, glancing away to avoid making eye contact with Jim.

Jim bit back a grin, nodding slightly. “Right, right. Ignoring it.”

The group shuffled forward as they entered the maze, the darkness ahead swallowing them whole. But the echo of the earlier scuffle and Lauren’s date’s squeal lingered, adding to the eerie atmosphere as they ventured deeper into the unknown

The group had already experienced several thematic sections of the horror maze. The first area, themed around infamous serial killers, had been a mix of terror and laughter. Everyone screamed as horror icons like Freddy Krueger and Ghostface leapt out from the shadows, their iconic weapons glinting in the dim light. The narrow corridors were lined with fog machines and strobe lights that made it hard to see the jump scares coming. The walls were splattered with fake blood, adding to the sense of dread.

Pedro, trying to ease the tension, cracked a joke as they passed a mannequin with a chainsaw. "Pretty sure my ex is scarier than that guy." His attempt at comic relief had a few of them laughing, though Mickey smacked him on the arm, rolling her eyes.

"That’s because you ran over her with a fucking car," she teased back, while Pedro laughed nervously.

Lauren’s date, Derek, wasn’t doing so well, though. As the group entered the section with creepy dolls, which whispered unsettling phrases from hidden speakers, he grabbed onto Lauren’s arm tightly, his face pale. "This is the stuff of nightmares, babe."

Lauren, smirking, replied, "Tough it out, Derek. At least the dolls don’t bite."

After the dolls, they entered the clown area—everyone had heard rumors about this section, and the tension was palpable. Jim, Adrien, and the others cautiously made their way through the brightly colored, twisted corridors. Nothing seemed out of place until, suddenly, a clown with a manic grin and a butcher's knife jumped out from the shadows, launching straight toward Adrien with a wicked laugh.

“Hahahahaha!” the clown screeched, his face covered in blood-red paint, eyes wide with glee.

Adrien screamed, "Holy fuck!" and immediately latched onto Jim’s hand, her heart racing. Jim couldn’t help but laugh, but inside, the warmth of Adrien’s hand in his made him feel something unexpected—protective. He laughed with the rest of the group but smiled softly to himself, realizing how good it felt to have her lean on him like that.

They kept walking, adrenaline pumping through everyone, until they reached another horror—this time, a figure dressed all in black, with pale white eyes and an unsettling grin, emerged from the dark. The group screamed, some louder than others.

“Oh my god, what the hell is that?” Neutron yelled, stumbling back into jim, who burst out laughing at his reaction.

As the group made their way to the next part of the maze, Adrien excused herself, walking ahead to catch up with Lauren and Sasha. She leaned in, whispering with a mischievous grin, "So, Stacey Davins told Camille Warren, who told me that… there’s a storage room behind Sea Monster Isle where people sneak off to… hook up."

Lauren and Sasha looked at each other, both confused but intrigued.

"Wait, what?" Sasha raised an eyebrow. "You’re serious?"

Adrien nodded. "Yeah. Me and Jim haven’t had any time alone recently, with my parents not knowing about him and all… it’s been hard. This might be our only chance to be alone tonight."

Lauren giggled. "Oooooh, I see what’s happening here."

Adrien, rolling her eyes but smiling, said, "Can you guys just distract the group? Like, just for a bit."

Sasha and Lauren exchanged a teasing glance. "Oh, we got you," Lauren said with a wink. "We’ll keep them busy. Go have your closet sex fantasy."

Adrien thanked them before sneaking back to Jim, who had been waiting for her with a curious look. "Where’d you disappear to?" he asked with a playful grin.

"Oh, just with Sasha and Lauren," Adrien replied casually. "Lauren’s date really hates this place, by the way."

Jim chuckled, glancing at Derek, who was still nervously clutching Lauren’s arm like his life depended on it. "Yeah, I can see that."

But then, Jim’s expression shifted. He had noticed something odd earlier, and it had been bothering him. "Hey, speaking of weird… what’s up with that kid? He keeps turning back and looking at you. Like, he wants to say something."

Adrien followed Jim’s gaze toward Connor, who quickly turned his head away, pretending to be engrossed in conversation with Jason. She sighed, knowing she couldn’t dodge this topic forever. "It’s… nothing, really," she said, but Jim didn’t seem convinced. "It’s just something that happened at a party a while ago."

Jim pressed, clearly wanting to know more. "What happened?"

Adrien hesitated before finally opening up. "Remember that time I told you I came back from that party?" She glanced at Jim, who nodded. "Well, there was this stupid game, and I got stuck in a closet with him. And, uh… he tried something. Like, he tried to come on me. But I pushed him off. It’s not a big deal."

Jim’s expression hardened as he looked over at Connor, his hands clenching slightly. He softened again when he looked back at Adrien. "You’re okay, though, right?"

"Yeah, I’m fine," Adrien assured him. "It pissed me off at the time, but I’m over it. Don’t worry about it."

Jim still seemed tense, but he nodded. Just as they reached the entrance to Sea Monster Isle, where the group was already screaming and laughing at the new horrors, Adrien took Jim’s hand. She glanced back at him with a playful smile.

"Come on," she whispered, "I want to show you something."

Jim, still confused but curious, followed her. "Where are you taking me?"

"You’ll see," Adrien grinned, leading him toward the back entrance to the storage room—the one Stacey had told her about. They slipped through the hidden door, leaving the chaos of the maze behind them.

As they step into the storage room, Adrian closes the door softly behind them. The low hum of distant music echoes faintly through the walls, but here, it's quiet—just the two of them. Jim walks further into the room, casually leaning against a side table, his curiosity piqued. He pulls a small packet from his jacket pocket but keeps his focus on Adrian.

Turning toward her, he grins, still basking in the thrill of the night. “Okay, so why’d you bring me here?” His voice is playful, but there's genuine curiosity beneath it.

Adrian smiles slightly, moving further into the room. “Well…” she starts, her tone teasing, “I couldn’t really see you in that maze. Too dark.” She gestures toward the dimness outside. “Thought I'd get a better look at you in here.”

She walks over to the light switch and flicks it on, illuminating the room with a soft, warm glow. Jim watches her closely, clearly enjoying the way the evening has turned. He chuckles, still leaning against the table.

“Not that I’m complaining,” he says with a smirk, “but it’s probably a good thing you pulled me away.” He pauses, pulling the small packet out fully, revealing a couple of pills inside. “I was starting to feel a little… restless.”

He shakes the pills slightly in his hand, offering them to her with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Adrian hesitates for a second, remembering the aftermath of the last time she let herself indulge. But tonight? Tonight felt different. It was wild, carefree. She glances at the pills, then back at Jim.

Screw it, she thinks.

“What the hell,” she mutters, taking one of the pills and quickly sniffing it just as Jim does. The rush hits fast, sending a warmth through her, dulling the edges of reality just enough to make everything feel softer, lighter.

Jim watches her with a deeper interest now, stepping closer. His eyes flick up to the lights above, then back to her. “You know, I think the lights would be better off,” he says, voice low.

Without waiting for her to respond, he reaches over and turns off the light, plunging the room back into darkness. And then, before the quiet can settle in, he closes the distance between them, pressing his lips to hers.

The kiss is slow but intense, both of them caught in the heat of the moment, the high making everything feel more alive, more electrifying. It’s just them, alone in the dark, lost in the energy of the night.
As soon as they were in, he released his right hand from Adriand hip and slammed her towards the near wall before roughly pushing her up
against it. She let out a small gasp at the suddenbact of dominance, but she then relaxed and let him take control. His face wasn't a centimeter above her's as he glanced from her eyes to her
lips, their chests breathing heavily against each other.
In a quick movement, his right hand moved
from the wall to Adriand jaw, forcefully
grabbing it and causing her head to tilt up slightly making it easier for jim to lean dow and kiss her deeply. His hunger for the girl only

grew with every moment of contact between them.
Adrians right hand was being pinned against the wall by jims, her left pulling him towards her by the collar of his shirt which she skillfully and subtly began unziping his trousers. He bit
her bottom lip, making her knees weak with lust. Their tongues moved perfectly isync with each other as the passion between the two grew.
She felt him remove his grip from her jaw and grab a handful of her hair, pulling her head back so he had clear access to her neck. She let out an unintentional sigh when jims
lips connected with her neck. The familiar feeling of him sucking her skin made the butterflies in her stomach move slightly south. The boy parted slowly after a while and released
the girl's hair and wrist

They were both breathing deeply and longingly gazing into each other's eyes when Adrian's hands slowly moved towards Jim's belt. She began unbuckling it, not breaking eye contact
with the boy.  She hastily
unbuttoned his pants and pulled them down causing them to hit the floor and reveal his boxers. he pushes her back towards the table as she climbed up beginning to kiss him again.
Just as things between Jim and Adrian are heating up, the storage room door suddenly swings open, flooding the dim room with light. Adrian, who’s already seated on the side table, immediately freezes. Jim, standing in front of her with his pants halfway down, curses under his breath, quickly pulling them back up. Both of them turn toward the door, startled, their eyes squinting against the sudden brightness.

There, standing in the doorway, is Connor. His expression is one of surprise, but his eyes betray something else—like he knew they were inside all along, and he wasn’t sorry for interrupting.

“Oh,” Connor says, trying to mask his smugness, “I didn’t mean to disturb you guys.”

Jim, already annoyed by the interruption, lets out a frustrated huff. “Well, yeah, you did,” he snaps, zipping up his pants and glancing at Adrian as she hops off the table.

Connor steps further into the room, his eyes never leaving Adrian. “Adrian, can we talk for a moment? I didn’t get a chance to catch up with you since you got here, and honestly… that’s why I came tonight. I knew you'd be here, and I really wanted to talk. I messed up—big time.”

As Connor speaks, Jim’s frustration grows. His face hardens, and his posture shifts as his temper flares. Connor’s words, especially the way he’s directing them at Adrian, only make it worse.

“Dude, what the hell is your problem?” Jim finally snaps, his voice laced with anger. “You not see I’m literally with her? Why the hell are you talking to her like that? She doesn’t want you, jackass. Just back off.”

Connor, unfazed by Jim’s hostility, takes a step closer, attempting to stay calm. “Dude, are you… are you on something?” he asks, probably  aware of the pills Jim took earlier. His voice is still controlled, but there's a hint of condescension. He reaches out to put a hand on Jim’s shoulder, trying to appear as though he’s calming him down.

Jim, now furious, shoves Connor’s hand off aggressively. “Don’t  fucking touch me,” Jim growls, his eyes flashing with anger. He takes a step forward, towering over Connor. “You’re the one who’s out of line here.”

Connor doesn’t back down. “Dude, relax,” he says, still in that irritatingly calm tone. “You sure you’re stable right now?”

That’s the last straw. Jim, fueled by rage and the high from the pills, suddenly swings his fist, landing a hard punch across Connor’s face. The crack of the impact fills the room as Connor stumbles back, clutching his nose.

Connor groans, his hand coming away bloody. His eyes narrow as he looks up, then swings back at Jim, landing a hit of his own. Adrian, standing nearby, watches in shock as the two start brawling, exchanging punches and shoves.

“Both of you should just stop!” Adrian shouts, trying to push between them. “This is so stupid!”

But they’re both too caught up in their fight to listen. As she moves toward the door, planning to leave and get someone to break it up, Jim swings his elbow back, accidentally catching Adrian hard in the face. The force of the hit knocks her down to the floor.

Both Jim and Connor stop immediately, their fists lowered, as they stare in horror at Adrian, who’s now sitting on the ground, holding her eye.

“Adrian!” Jim calls out, rushing over to her. He bends down to help, his face stricken with guilt, but she glares up at him, her expression cold. She pushes his hand away, silently telling him to back off.

Still wincing in pain, Adrian turns her attention to Connor, who’s standing there with his nose bleeding. Her voice is steady, but her eyes are filled with a mix of frustration and exhaustion.

“Are you okay?” she asks him.

Connor, still confused by her sudden shift in composure, nods slowly, clearly taken aback by how calm she is despite just being hit.

“Yeah,” he mumbles, wiping the blood from his nose.

Adrian gives him a quick nod in acknowledgment, then stands up, brushing herself off. Without another word, she walks toward the door, her mind already made up to leave the chaos behind.

Jim, panicked, pushes past Connor and follows her. “Adrian, wait!” he calls after her, his voice desperate. “I didn’t mean to hurt you. Please, just—”

But she doesn’t respond. She’s already out the door, heading back toward the party, ignoring him completely. Jim stumbles after her, trying to catch up, but as soon as they’re out of the maze, he sees her with her friends, Lauren and Sasha. They’re talking in a huddle, and Adrian looks visibly shaken.

“I can’t talk to him right now. I just can’t,” Adrian mutters to Lauren and Sasha, holding her hand over her eye.

Lauren puts a comforting hand on her shoulder. “It’s okay, just breathe.”

Jim tries to approach, but before he can reach her, he hears voices calling from behind him.

“Yo, Jim!” It’s Mikey, Neutron, and Pedro, standing by the exit. “We’re heading out, man! You coming?”

Jim looks from them back to Adrian, torn between going after her and the mounting frustration boiling inside him. But as Adrian continues to keep her back turned, refusing to even acknowledge him, the weight of his mistakes starts to settle in.
Adrian felt the sting of tears welling up behind her eyes as she stormed out of the maze, her heart pounding with a mix of frustration and embarrassment. She didn't stop until she was out of sight, her hands trembling as she tried to gather herself. The cool night air hit her face, but it did nothing to calm the heat of her emotions.

She could hear Connor's voice behind her, still ranting about Jim.

"That peice of shit is out of control!" Connor spat, jogging out after her. His nose was still bleeding, his expression twisted with both anger and a smug sort of satisfaction. "You saw what he did! He punched me right across the face! That guy is  fucking psycho!"

Adrian closed her eyes, the sound of his voice grating on her nerves. It wasn’t that she didn’t care that Jim had hit him—she didnt. But Connor was using it as an opportunity to make Jim look even worse, and she knew that was exactly what he wanted.

Jason chimed in, walking up beside Connor. "I told you, Adrian. We should've have never invited them. What did I say? We knew something like this would happen."

She inhaled sharply, fighting back the urge to snap at both of them. "I'll be in the car," Adrian muttered, not even bothering to look at them as she walked past. "When you guys are done, just come get me."

Connor and Jason exchanged glances, both of them falling silent as she walked away, leaving them standing in the aftermath of the chaos.

As she reached the car, Adrian leaned against the cool metal, her thoughts spiraling. She’d wanted tonight to be different. She’d hoped that Jim would prove them all wrong—that he wasn’t just some reckless guy with a temper, that he was someone worth knowing, someone she could trust. But the moment he hit Connor, everything she'd been trying to convince them of had shattered. And it wasn’t just about the fight—it was the drugs, the way he’d let his anger take over.

They had talked about this before. He’d promised her. That he wouldn't tfy anything.

She crossed her arms tightly across her chest, biting down on her lower lip as her frustration morphed into anger. Not just at Jim, but at herself. She
