YOUR POV:

I was in a reading slump. I couldn't bring myself to read the rewarding book. But I know I had to.

This is so stupid.

I grabbed the book and mentally prepared to force myself to read.

ding

I groaned to the sound of my phone that notified me that someone sent me a text. I look over to my lock-screen to see a message.

Tsukishima: Are you free?

I was going to ignore him and use the excuse that I was busy reading the book and hadn't seen his text until-

ding

Tsukishima: I have found this place that I wanted to try and thought about also taking you with me, are you up for it?

I was surprised that he wanted to take me with him to this said interesting place. It piqued my interest as well.

[ YN ]: I'd love to join you! I could ask Roy to see if she wants to join us as well.

Tsukishima: I have already asked Tadashi if he wanted to join but he said he already has plans.

I look on top of my screen to see Tsukishima's text. I scrolled a bit down to find Roy's message, I clicked on her icon and texted her to see if she was free.

[ YN ]: wyd?

[ YN ]: Hawaii.

I clicked on the photos Roy had sent me. One of them is a picture of a statue by itself and the other one is Roy taking a selfie with the same statue in the background.

[ YN ]: u weren't lying, it is pretty!

Roy had left me on seen but it didn't bother me since she was probably having a good time with Yamaguchi. I went back to Tsukishima's messages.

[ YN ]: Same w Roy, looks like it'll be the two of us!

Tsukishima: Alright, I will send you the location to the place and we'll meet up there, is that okay with you?

[ YN ]: Mhm! See you there, Tsukishima!

I was tempted to search for the address, but I wanted it to be a surprise. But downplay of not knowing where the location is, is not knowing what to wear.

' let's do something casual...'

I went into the closet to look at what seemed appropriate for hanging out.

'...and pretty '

This is my first time going out with a boy.

HIS POV:

I stood by a lamppost that wasn't far from the entrance of the place I found interesting. It was a few minutes after our meeting time and a feeling of unease rose in me. I looked at my phone to see if she changed her mind or if something came up.

[ LN ]: might be coming there a bit late!  Sorry!

"I hope you weren't waiting for too long! I tried to get here as fast as I can" I looked up to see [ LN ] sheepishly gazing at me before looking at her outfit. And to my surprise, she dressed up, unlike the regular clothes I would see her in.

She was wearing a light floral green dress with white ruffle top socks that matches her shoes. She had gold earrings with the firefly necklace I made her.

The necklace.

"You look good, Tsukishima" I look back at her to see she was right in front of me with her hands behind her back and a tilt of her head that held a light smile.

Adorable.

"Ahem, thank you, you don't look bad yourself" An involuntary cough came out of me before I could even compliment her back. A breathy chuckle came out of her as I turned my head away from her so she could not see the embarrassment on my face.

"A man with words, and a cough" I gave her a light glare at her small tease. She came right beside me and tugged my sleeve towards her as she slowly started walking.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Take us to this interesting place"

HER POV:

"You've got to be kidding me" I widen my eyes as we stood not far from where we met, the entrance to this interesting place.

"Why? You've been here before?" I nodded my head excitedly and tugged him closer to the door.

"This is me and Roy's favourite place! I'm a regular!"

The peace.

"Oh, you're going to LOVE this place" I quickly pulled him inside the building and let him stand right in front of the entrance to take a look around. As he was doing so, I scanned his face for his reaction. His eyes dart from one place to another, each time they grew wider and wider. The feeling of joy and excitement bubbles in me as I was enjoying his wonder.

"Woah, there's a lot of animals here, and books" He looked towards me as we both started walking up to the register to order.

"Mhm mhm! There are also many rooms for studying and there are different types of books and animals, if you're allergic to any of them then there's a space for you with no animals, they also have many varieties of drinks and foods, plus they have many different seatings like beanbags, rolling chairs, chairs that wobble which they all have blankets and pillows, And the best part is.." I stopped for a dramatic effect as he raises an eyebrow.

"The money goes to many charities and the animals are rescued! This place couldn't get any cooler!" We moved up a step closer to the register.

"Wow no wonder this is your haven, this place is cool" He chuckled as we moved up in front"

"Hello, what may I get for you?"

"I never took you as someone who has a sweet tooth, is it good?" I took a look at his strawberry shortcake.

"Of course it's good otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it" I gave out a huff at his sass.

"Well sorry, I never had any..." I turned to look at him to see he wasn't right beside me as he was just a few seconds ago. I behind me to see he was petting a kitten. Cooing at the kitten, who took a liking to the boy as they rubbed their head further into his hand.

"What a pretty little thing you are huh? Look how sweet you are, you like it when I do this huh?" I let out a breathy laugh as my heart warms at the scene and kept looking at where his hand was petting the kitten. Not long my eyes dragged themselves toward the boy's face. His face looks content and calm, he was liking the kitten as he has a small smile on his face with his eyes slightly closed like he was falling asleep. I couldn't help but stare, not thinking of anything. I was tracing every detail of his joyous face, hoping it would last.

"Her name is Hermia" I walked over to the two and started petting the kitten as well.

"What a pretty name for a pretty kitty" Hermia started to lean forwards toward my hand just like she did with Tsukishima's and also started purring.

HIS POV:

My heart quickens as she is much closer to me.

'Don't be a fool, she isn't even looking at you so there's no need to feel nervous'

I took in her presence, it was so calm and peaceful once she came over to us. I could close my eyes and sleep forever if I wanted to. Everything around her was so peaceful and calming. It followed her like it was part of her.

Taking her all in, I wasn't lying about how pretty she is but today, she'd looked so incredibly pretty, the way her facial expressions relaxed and the way she softly smile as her hand began to scratch the chin of the kitten.

I was enchanted by her.

YOUR POV:

After giving the sweet Hermia one last love, they went towards a spot and sat down.

" [ LN ], I have a question for you" I look over at Tsukishima who had given his shortcake a stab.

"Go ahead, Tsukishima! You can ask as many questions as you want and I will answer them!" Wanted to let the boy know there were no limits to his questions.

"What's your favourite book?" After successfully cutting a chuck of the shortcake, he picked it up and set it on my plate and did the same with strawberries.

"Easy! The forgotten warrior!" I did the same thing with my treatment and gave him a chuck of it on his plate.

"My turn! What if you didn't choose volleyball, what should have you picked on doing?"

"Well..."

It went on like this forever. Laughing, giving each other life stories, asking what-if questions, and such to each other. Soon the fun was over and it was time for us to part, sadly. We both got out and stood right beside each other for some time.

"Let me walk you to your home" Tsukishima tugged me beside him, slightly forward. His confidence made me know that he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

A little bit more time together won't hurt.

Once again, we stood beside each other and waited for some time. Not hearing anything from Tsukishima, I turned to face him to say my farewells and my thanks but stopped once a hand came behind my head and pulled me forward. Taking some time to register what's going on, I quickly look up at Tsukishima who had just pulled me in for a hug.

"I'm sorry, I got nervous and didn't ask you if you wanted a hug.." I wrapped my arms around him and smiled at him.

"It's okay, I like it"

HIS POV:

After hearing what was her favorite book, I went to the bookstore and began my little hunt for it. I didn't care for reading. I couldn't even comprehend how someone could love a bunch of words on paper.

But then I got reminded of the conversation we had not long ago.

"How can you love a bunch of words put together on paper?" I took a sip of my drink and watched as she chewed down her food.

"It's not just a bunch of words! And besides, it's how the words are put together and how you interpret them. I interpret them as something happy!" She took a look at the two chinchillas, who were rolling in the dust.

"Why? How can they make you happy?" I was genuinely confused about how words can make her so happy.

"It's my happy place!" She said it like it was simple as that and saw no need to explain more.

I knocked myself into reality and continue to look for her book. I want to try to read the book she has been babbling about. I want to be able to babble with her.

I want to be a part of her happy place.

an: it's March?? I'm planning on finishing this work this month, but meanwhile, I'm planning on my other work, it has to do with heroes and... quirks ;)). Just a few more chapters!!
I love it when authors put in a reference to the outfit they described cause I'm a visual person!

So this is the reference I used! Of course, you can change anything that isn't to your liking and I try to make a more vague description so you can also put your imagination into it!

I was also going to write a little kiss in here but decided against it, Also the kitten's name is so cute!! Tried hard to find the right one ;).
