Yeah-yeah and Squints were arguing about who got to hold the ball

All of a sudden Squints stops in his tracks "Oh! Woah" the he starts staring at someone or something

I then snatch the ball out of Squints' hand

I look up and saw Wendy Peffercorn. She was pretty cool and she was nice to me and sometimes even snuck me into the pool

She was kinda like the older sister I never had. Sometimes, she even gave me boy advice

Squints was pointing at her and kept repeating 'Wendy Peffercorn'

I slap his hand down and hear him mumble "Ouch"

She was smirking at him then spoke "Hey y/n"

"Hey Wendy" I replied

She then moved on with her day and the boys just kept staring

"Hey pendejos" Benny taught me that word last night and now I will never stop saying

"Take a picture it'll last longer" I said starting to walk back to the sandlot

"What the heck's a pen-de-ho" Yeah-Yeah said and I laughed at the way he said it

"C'mon were running late" I said starting to run

Me and Yeah-yeah had to drag Squints just to get him to the sandlot

Once we made it to the dugout Benny asked "Where you guys been we've been waiting here forever"

"Ah Squints was pervin' a dish" I said handing Benny the ball

"Shut up. No I wasn't" he said annoyed

"Yeah-yeah you were" Yeah-yeah said

"Your tongue wa hanging out of your head and you were swooin'"

I then turned to Yeah-yeah and grabbed both of his hands mocking Squints

"Oh Wendy Peffercorn, my darling lover girl" he played along with me and we were laughing at him and his ridiculousness

"I said shut up! I got a lotta things on my mind" he said 

"Oh what like Wendy" I said and he gave me a glare

Benny was trying not to laugh but gave out a little chuckle

"This pop isn't working Benny, I'm baking like a toasted cheeser! It's so hot here!" Ham said sweating like crazy

"It's a 150 degree out there. You can't play baseball, we gotta call it for the day" Squints remarks

Everyone including me was in agreement

Benny however, was against skipping a day of practicing baseball. It's all he ever wants to do

"Vote then. Anyone who's wants to be a can't-hack-it, panty waste, who wears their mama's bra, raise your hand, well except for you y/n" he said

I smiled a little, I knew he didn't wanna offend me, which made my heart warm

Everyone started rasing their hand, they did not care, they just wanted to get out of the heat

"Fine, fine, fine! Be like that. So what are we gonna do" He said

Yeah-yeah started saying "Oh, oohh," I knew exactly what they all were thinking

"SCAM POOL HONEYS" they yelled simultaneously

Me and Benny look at each other and I smile at him while rasing my eyebrows trying to get him to go to the pool with us

"Ugh fine"

I ran into my house to go to my room and change into a swimsuit then put a cover up on which was just some jean shorts on

I was slipping some sandals on when there was a knock on my door

I open it to see Benny and Smalls

"You ready" Benny asked

"Yeah let's go" I said closing the door

The three of us then walk to each of the boys' house and get everyone

Once we got everyone we start walking to the pool and eventually get to the pool

All the boys took their overshirts of and set their stuff down at different chairs and ran and jumped into to pool, well except for me and Ham

I wanted to tan a little bit before I get in

But Ham on the other hand was trying to flirt with the girls 4 years older than him

He was waving at them then prepared for a cannonball

"CANNONBALL" he yelled before jumping off the ledge, into the pool

He splashed the girls and the came to the pool and started scoffing at him

It was pretty funny honestly

Eventually after a little tanning, I decided to go into the pool and everyone was splashing around

Then all of a sudden, everyone stopped what they were doing and started staring at Wendy

"Awe man"

"Yeah too cruel"

"She don't know what she's doin"
"She don't know what she's doin"

"Yeah she does, she knows exactly what she's doin"

I saw all the boys stare in awe and chuckled a little

Don't get me wrong, Wendy was gorgeous, but the boys could try making it look a little less obvious and stop staring like weirdos

Benny heard my scoff somehow and remarked "Aw is someone jealous"

"Oh you wish Benny boy" I wasn't jealous, maybe a little but he doesn't need to know that

"I've swam here every summer of my adult life"

Me and Benny giggle at his statement

"And every summer there she is, lotioning, oiling, oiling, lotioning, I CANT TAKE THIS NO MORE" he said sounding like a stalker

He began to swim to the ladder and went over to the diving board

What was this kid planning

Everyone had that same idea the  Yeah-yeah said "I don't know but that's the deep end and Squints can't swim."

Oh my-

My thoughts were interrupted by the boys frantically swimming over to where Squints had dove in

Everyone was shouting Squints' name while Wendy had already jumped into the pool in attempt to 'rescue him'

Everything was happening so fast and before I could blink, Wendy had already started CPR

The boys were telling him to pull through and like not die

But then the unthinkable happened, this bitch opens his eyes with a huge grin and winks at us

"What?" everyone exclaimed at the same time confused

The second Wendy put her lips on Squints' he took this opportunity to put his hand against her head and push down

She was exclaiming to let her go "YOU LITTLE PERVERT" she then grabs him by the arm and drags him out as the gang follows him

I walked away to get my stuff on the chair across the pool

By the time I got to the exit of the pool, she had kicked them out "AND STAY OUT!" you could tell Wendy was pissed

Honestly if someone 4 years younger than me did that, I would be too

She saw me and walked up to me "You put up with that everyday?" she questions with chuckle

"Sadly, yes" I replied "Well all I know is that their banned for life but your cool so your not banned and you can stay" she said

"Aw thanks Wendy but I should get back to them and make sure they don't do anymore stupid shit" I said concerned about what else they could possibly do

"Ok well feel free to stop by anytime" she said with a smile "Ok I will thanks Wendy, bye" I said

"Bye"

I walk over to where the boys were putting their extra clothes on, I began to do the same and put some jeans shorts on and a Dodgers tee on

As everyone was done, Squints was still staring at Wendy and she just waved at him and he smiled and ran back to us

We all kept teasing him on the way home, as everyone separated and went home, it was just me, Benny, and Smalls

"Ok, bye guys" Smalls said as we approached his house

"Bye" me and Benny said together

As he ran inside, me and Benny kept walking to his house and he said goodbye and ran inside

I walked across the street to my house and went inside to just rest and sleep for the rest of the night
