𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑖 𝑟𝑜𝑡 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦, 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑏𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑑

The next day was like any regular day

We met up at the sandlot, but Ham wanted to try hitting

This was gonna be fun

"Hamilton,"the Babe" Porter, Longtail Porter, C'mon DeNunez" Ham then pointed to the fence

Everyone broke out in laughter because, let's be realistic here

And of course, the first pitch was a swung strike, high one, a really high one

"You call that pitching this this baseball, not tennis, give me something to hit," Ham said, angry

"Alright, Ham, this is my heater, I DARE you to hit it,"

Then DeNunez threw another one, and Ham hit it, woooow, he hit it over the fence, over Mr. Myrtles fence

Everyone one stared yelling at him for hitting it over THAT fence

And they kept throwing gloves at him while running

"Ham, you idiot, now we can't play no more," Benny said, mad

Because of the "beast"

I quickly ran over to Smalls because I
knew there was no such thing as a beast

"Smalls, I know you're weak, but if I think I can make it over," I said quickly

"Hey -" he said before I cut him off. "Just help me," I said

He helped lift me over the fence a little, but then I felt someone grab my waist

I knew it was Benny. He was the one who didn't let me go over the fence at all, which was really annoying

They all were pulling me down, and I kept telling them to let me go

"Holy crap, Y/N, are you serious? You could've been killed, " Squints said out of breath

"Yeah-Yeah, truly, what were ya both doin'" Yeah-Yeah said, also out of breath

"But you guys were all leaving, and I thought i'd -" Smalls said, defensively

"If you were thinkin' you wouldn't have thought that," Squints said

"You can't go back there, Smalls, you know that Y/N," Benny said, seriously

"Yeah, whatever," I said, annoyed

"We don't,"
"We don't,"

"It's history,"

"Kiss it goodbye,"
"Kiss it -"

'Shut up, Tommy.'

"It's gone, man, gone," Bertram said

"Games over, man. we'll just get another ball tomorrow. We'll never see it again," Benny said, disappointed

Everyone was in agreement until "Why not?" Smalls asked

"The Beast," they all said

"The beast," I said, mocking them

"What is that?" Smalls turned his head towards me,

I stayed silent until Benny walked over

"Smalls, go over to that fence, be slow, and real quiet, and look through that hole"

Smalls was trying to resist, but Benny kept reassuring him to look

Smalls started walking over, and everyone hushed him

I just looked at them, and they all shrugged at me

Smalls just jumped back in fear, gasping, then ran back to us

"Somthing got the ball, w-w-what wad that thing," Smalls asked in total confusion

"Campout," every one of us said

Then, just like that, we all decided to go home and ask our parents, then meet at Timmy and Tommy's tree house

We were all walking home, but I stayed back. Smalls telling him about the beast

Benny said he'd give me 10 bucks if I convinced him even the slightest by the end of the night,

"Smalls listen, if I were you, I'd believe me right now because you're new, the new kid should believe an OG, right?" I said in my most convincing voice

"Yeah, I guess," he said. "Ok, good, "Ok good. "

Now, did I believe in the beast? No way, but I do believe in a harmless prank one in a while

Then I kept asking him questions about himself

"So, did you have a crush on anyone back at home?" I asked, very curious

"Well, there was this one girl, Lily," he said, scratching the back of his head

"Tell me about her," I asked eagerly

"Well she was in my advanced math class, and she was pretty, but not as pretty as you," he said

Awe, how cute

"Awe, Smalls, thank you," I said

"Yeah, but she was really sweet, but then I moved away," he said sadly

"Oh, well, I mean, I'm sure you'll find someone else just as special Smalls," I said, trying to build up his hope

"Thanks Y/N, I really appreciate that," he said

"No problem."

"Well, I should go ask my mom about the campout," he said

"Ok, bye, Smalls," I said, waving at him

"Bye," then he started jogging into his house

What I didn't realize is that everyone went inside, and it was just me and Benny

"What we're you talking about?" Benny asked

"Oh, I just asked him about his old crush, but it was really adorable. He said she was really pretty but not as pretty as me, " I said with a little smile

"Awe, I mean, he's not wrong," he said

"Oh geez, stop it," I said with a little laugh

"I'm being serious," he said

"Ok, well, I should go inside and get my stuff," I said

"Ok, I'll cya later Y/L/N," he said, jogging inside

"Cya, Rodriguez," I said, also jogging inside

I've always had a little crush on Benny, I mean, who am I kidding? Everyone does. In a world of boys, he's a gentleman

But my thoughts were interrupted when I walked into my house, to be met with my mom, she was never home so why is she now?

"Hey mom," I said kinda surprised

"Hey honey, my boss said I can take a while off since I was working for so long,"

"Oh ok, well, can I sleep over at Timmy and Tommy's house?" I asked

"Yeah, wait, is Benny gonna be their" she asked

"Uh yeah, why?" I asked

"Oh, it's just you both are so young and in love," she said, teasing me

"Oh my, mom, please stop. Where are just friends, really, really close friends, I think, " I said, questioning a little

"Ok, I just don't want to be a grandma so young," she said

"Ok, I'm gonna get my stuff." she was just laughing as I went upstairs,

I just brought a change of clothes, some other stuff, and my sleeping bag

I went outside my room and told my mom goodbye
