"wake up and get your siblings ready I have to go to work" I heard my mom say as she shook me awake

I laid in bed my body did not want me to get up until I felt a weird feeling travel up from my stomach to my throat and I ran to the bathroom and started throwing up this has been going on for the longest I would just think that it's the liquor from that night or the boy from that night I shook my head at the one night stand thought

I brushed my teeth and made my way to my brothers room and turned the light on I had four younger brothers Elijah being the oldest Nasir than Armani and jayroe they all shared a room with since the apartment was small it was old and every step you take the floor creaks

"it's time to wake up"I shook the oldest he was 12 but he acted way younger

"ion wanna go"he pulled the covers over his head

"please get up I don't feel like doing this every morning"I said while standing on the chair to reach the top of the bunk bed to wake up Nasir

"Nas wake up"i shook him and he sat up rubbing his eyes

"good morning"he smiled showing his gap

"morning your in a good mood today"I said while stepping down feeling slightly nausea walking over to wake Armani and jayroe up

"everyone get up you know the drill mom said that her water bill is to high so your time limit for today is 5 minutes"I said while standing in the doorway

"what?! that's literally like 5 minutes less than the last time"Nasir said while climbing down from the top bunk

"I'm glad you know how to do your math"Armani said while slightly laughing and pulling the covers from off of him

"does that means we have to brush our teeth in the shower?"jayroe said while he jumped from the second top bunk

"duh"Elijah said while standing up and stretching

"I'm sorry that it has to be this way"I walked downstairs to make 4 bowls of oatmeal and toast Nasir and Elijah and jayroe ate while Armani showers I wasn't feeling hungry so I went to my room changing my night clothes that was made for summer into warmer clothes and I put my Ugg boots on with my puffer coat

"did y'all have all your school stuff?"I asked handing out there vitamins and they nodded there heads while chewing on the gummy flint stone vitamin

"I need snacks for the class party"jayroe said while putting his binder in his book bag

"me too"Elijah said and zipped his coat up I heard "me to"from my other younger brothers

"are they really for school or y'all are just-"I started

"there for school we have papers if you want to see them we know how much we are struggling already"Armani said cutting me off

"right"I said lowly looking at my feet

"mhm"I grabbed my house keys and phone

"mmtch these broke down apartments"I heard Elijah mumble when we saw the "out of order"sign on the elevator

"all elevators have malfunctions"I said while opening the door that led to the stairs
everyone knew not to use the stairs it was like a museum you would see lots of different things from graffiti to people selling drugs people getting beat up dried up blood and people have sex

"please don't touch the rail"I gently grabbed Nasir hand from off the filthy rail

"man it's cold than a mug"jayroe said while pulling his over his head

the wind hit me as soon as I stepped outside and the snow crunched underneath my feet leaving foot steps behind

the walk to the bus stop was slightly long I smelt something and it stanked bad

"y'all don't smell that"my face scrunched up when the smell kept getting stronger

"I dont smell nothing"

they said and looked back at me with a confused look

I shrugged my shoulders and continued walking

"sooo how's school going?"I asked trying to spark up a conversation I lived for silence but not uncomfortable silence

"it feels like a prison"I heard Elijah say

I let out an deep breath that I had been holding while walking upstairs to the apartment number unlocking the door and taking my shoes off and quickly took my coat off that I sweating underneath I went to make some cereal and sat on the couch cutting on the smart tv and going on Netflix to watch breaking bad that I previously started binge watching I was tuned in to the tv show and my phone started ringing I looked at the caller ID and saw it was my best friend aniya we were the totally opposite of each other she was loud I was quiet and chill she like going out to party and I like to stay in the house

I was awfully tired for no reason I sat my phone down on the coffee table and went on YouTube watching beejay tv (they funny asf y'all should go watch them)
and my eyes got heavier by the second and I soon fell asleep
