It was the Stanley Cup game, hosted at the Chicago Blackhawks home ice. It was the Oilers vs the Canucks.

Abby was currently almost 9 months pregnant, and watching her husband play in one of the biggest games of his career.

She was currently sitting next to Natalie, and Bella as the entire Hughes family was sitting in the VIP box watching Quinn.

Ellen was watching the game while also talking to Abby about the baby. Tomorrow was the baby's due date, and she explained how excited she was to finally give birth.

Ellen laughed, saying how being pregnant isn't the most fun thing in the world. Abby agreed, she just didn't feel like herself.

With the 3rd period starting and the canucks up 2-1 Abby started to feel another contraction.

She had been having false labor contractions for weeks now, and her doctor explained how that was very normal in the first pregnancy.

Once Abby started to get up, she felt a wet liquid drop down her pants, Natalie and Bella both stood up quickly and started to ask Abby if she was in labor.

Abby tried to brush it off claiming it was false contractions, until Ellen came back over and said how Abby should get to the hospital, immediately.

Abby didn't argue with the older woman but stood in place when she thought of Quinn. He was still on the ice, and she didn't want him to miss the birth of his son.

"Jack, Luke?" spoke up Abby. "What's up?" asked Jack as he walked over to his extremely pregnant sister-in-law. "Can you guys please get Quinn? I know he's playing but he can't miss this" said Abby as tears weld up in her eyes.

"Yeah Abby definitely," said Luke quickly and he and Jack made their way out of the VIP box quickly.

Abby felt terrible, this was Quinn's first Stanley Cup game and she was taking it away from him. But she couldn't help it, all he talked about was their son and how excited he was to meet his son.

As Abby walked down the stairs towards Natalie and Jack's rental car, she started to have some more serious contractions and had to wait a few seconds before stepping for a second.

But eventually, they made it to the car and left for the hospital.

Jack and Luke showed their IDs and VIP passes to the security guards along with explaining the situation.

They made their way through the locker rooms, and back into the arena. They walked towards the penalty boxes and where Vancouver was sitting.

The Vancouver coach noted the Hughes boy immediately. "You guys know I love you, but you can't be done here right now," said the coach to the two youngest Hughes boys.

"I know coach sorry but we need Quinn" spoke Luke with anxiety in his voice. The captain looked at them. "Quinn's wife Abby just went into labor, and she needs him," said Jack finishing out the story for Luke.

The coach's eyes went wide and turned into a smile. He picked up a headset and started to talk into it. A timeout was called and the refs skated over along with Quinn.

The whole arena, including Quinn, was extremely confused. "Jack, Luke what the hell are you doing down here right now" said Quinn as he grabbed his water bottle.

"Abby going into labor, we need to go now," said Jack loud enough for his teammates to hear.

Quinn dropped his water bottle and looked up at his brothers, "dead ass?" he asked with his jaw open. "Yes now come on before you miss it" spoke Luke as he started to walk back into the the locker room.

The canucks cheered loud for their captain, and Quinn dropped his stick and started to run toward the locker room, leaving the fans and oilers extremely confused. But he didn't care, he had his wife and son to get to, and those were the two most important people in his life.

Quinn quickly changed into the sweats at the top of his bag and grabbed his belongings then rushed out to Luke's rental car, and sped off to the hospital with his brothers.

Once the brothers made their way up to Abby's room and settled down it was around 11:36 pm.

Abby was sitting on the bed, holding both girl's hands as she went through another contraction. When the boys walked into the room everyone was relieved.

Luke walked over to Bella and kissed her, while Jack walked over to his lover and kissed her.

Quinn made his way to his wife and kissed her on the lips while tears entered her eyes. "What's wrong honey?" asked Quinn as he sat on the bed holding her waist. "Nothing anymore, I wasn't sure that you'd make it" she spoke quietly.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," said Quinn as he pressed his forehead to hers. She smiled at him and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tight.

A few minutes later Jack turned on the Vancouver game and saw that with less than two minutes in the game, Vancouver was still winning 2-1.

The game finished 10 minutes later, with the canucks winning the Stanley Cup. Abby spoke up to Quinn again. "I'm sorry I pulled you away from that today"

"I'll have many chances to win the Stanley Cup" spoke Quinn looking at his worried wife. "I'll only get to watch my son be born once" he finished while grabbing her hand and squeezing it.

Nurses came in and out of the room, checking on Abby and their unborn son.

Around 1:30 am, Jack, Natalie, Luke, and Bella all decided to give the couple their space and call it a night.

Within 30 minutes later, some nurses came in and started to give Abby an epidural, while Quinn held her hand.

That started to help speed up the labor because, within another hour, Abby was good to start pushing.

She started to push but it wasn't doing anything, confused, the doctors started to run more tests. They found out the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby's neck, and was high risk.

At this Abby and Quinn both looked at each other scared out of their minds. The doctors announced an emergency c-section and started to prep Abby for the procedure.

Quinn was also getting dressed in protective garments as he wanted to be with Abby the whole time.

Abby was immediately put under anesthesia, while Quinn held her hand and watched the doctors start delivering his son.

The surgery was successful, and Quinn's son was born on April 24th at 4:15 am. As the doctors stitched up Abby and cleaned up their son. Quinn stood in amazement.

After about 3 minutes of the nurse cleaning up the boy, they gave him to Quinn and Quinn was holding his son.

The small boy looked just like Quinn, the same Brown Bush hair on his head. Along with the same small nose.

After about 10 minutes Abby started to wake up, and Quinn brought their son back to her so she could hold him.

As Abby held her son, she started to cry again. He looked just like Quinn, in the best ways, she already had so much love for him.

Quinn stood next to his small family and smiled, he was a dad now.

Around 10:30 the couple had many phone calls from friends, family, and teammates congratulating them on their son.

At 11 Quinn got a text from Jack asking if everyone could come see the new baby. Quinn, of course, asked Abby and she agreed for the family to come see the new baby.

When the clock struck 11:30 Jack, Natalie, Luke, Bella, Jim, and Ellen all walked into the room with presents and food.

Natalie and Bella walked over to Abby and both held the baby, while Jack and Luke walked over to their brother.

"I know I give you shit, but congratulations Quinn," said Jack dabbing up his brother.

"Me too Quinn, you both really deserve this," said Luke while hugging his older brother.

Jack and Luke made their way over to Natalie and Bella to hold their nephew. Ellen and Jim made their way from Abby and their grandson to their oldest son.

Ellen hugged Quinn with tears in her eyes. "Im so proud of you Quinn" she spoke as she cried tears of happiness.

"Thanks, Mom" he spoke in repose to his mother. Jim walked over and hugged his son as well saying "Congratulations".

Many of his teammates also swung by, with their wives and girlfriends, and wishing them congratulations and drilling a gift by.
