After dinner, I was upstairs in my bedroom when I suddenly remembered I left my phone charger in the living room. I headed back downstairs and stopped in my tracks when I saw her sitting on the floor, her usual Indian style. She wasn't eating and was pouting, which piqued my curiosity as I walked closer.

Jk: "Why aren't you eating?" (raising an eyebrow)

YN: "Uh... um... no, I'm eating... see?" ( but I could tell she was just shifting her food around)

Her stepmom: (chimed) "It's her daily drama—always skipping food. I managed to make her sit, but now she wants me to feed her." (She chuckled, shaking her head)

YN: "Don't laugh!" (she shot a glare at her mom, then looked down) "I was eating..." (mattered)

I couldn't help but smile at the sight of her pouting and avoiding her food.

Jk: "Why don’t you eat? And why do you want to be fed?"

YN: "I don't want to..." (I watched her slowly eat, still pouting)

Jk: "Aren't you too old to want someone to feed you?"

Her aunt: (chimed in) "There’s no use talking; she’ll do what she wants. We’ve seen it before..."

YN: "Don’t lie... you don’t know how to cook." (she shot back)

Her stepmom: (teased) "Oh, tell us what you eat exactly then— no vegetables, no fruits, nothing we cook..."

Jk: "So what do you like to eat?" (I asked, crossing my arms and looking down at her, I feel curious if she's having any issues with food?)

YN: "Just ladyfinger and eggplant... and potatoes, dal, rajma, rice... there are many, but—"

her aunt: "But she still skips it even when we make her favorites,"  (interjected)

Jk: "Why?" (Frowned)

YN: "I have a weak appetite..."  (quietly)

"Even with a weak appetite, you should still get enough nutrients to keep your body healthy," (I said, feeling a surge of concern. I knelt down next to her to get a better look, that not should be excuse) "I'm just concerned for your well-being. You shouldn't skip any meals. Please eat well, okay?" (Soft)

YN: "Okay..." (softly, looking down)

Jk: "Hm. How about if I feed you? Would you eat then?"

She looked surprised. She often asked her parents to feed her, but they didn’t, thinking she was just being childish. Yet she always dreamed of a future husband who would feed her when she didn’t feel like eating, even sharing from his plate whenever he eats

YN: "You..." (she started, but before she could finish, I sat down in front of her, causing her, her aunt, and her stepmom to panic) "N-no! Don’t sit on the floor! You’re a prince!"

"I'm not a porcelain prince who would break if I sat on the floor. I’m just a regular human being. So stop overreacting..." (I said firmly but wait— I glance her if she gets reaction) I mean... you don't have to worry...
(Calm I look her telling her silently it wasn't intentionally. And she nod slightly)

Aunty: "we just thought you would mind it…”

Jk: “Yeah, I would mind it if the floor was dirty or uncomfortable, but it seems fine here. Plus, there’s a mat, so don’t worry—I’m not going to get my expensive clothes dirty.”

(I kneel down next to her, looking directly into her eyes) “Can I feed you? I’ll make sure you finish all your food.”

She hesitate but nods slowly, and my heart races a little at her response. Excitement bubbles up as I reach for the plate of food in front of her.

Jk: “C'mon, open your mouth and say ‘ahh.’”

I chuckle at myself for talking to her like she’s a kid, then soften my tone.

Jk: “Just open your mouth, okay? I want to feed you properly.” (She nods and does as I say, looking so innocent) “Open wider…”

I slowly put the spoonful of food into her mouth, enjoying the moment as she chews slowly. After a few minutes, I speak softly again. She eats politely, but suddenly, I notice her eyes starting to water. She looks down, trying to hide it.

Jk: “Wait, wait... Don’t cry. Why are you crying?”

YN: (shakes her head quickly) “I’m not crying...” (Her voice is small JUST like her but that's not the point rn)

Jk: “Don’t lie. I can see the tears in your eyes. Are you feeling uncomfortable? Did I make you uncomfortable—” (that's the last thing I want to do)

(She shakes her head, glancing at her stepmom and aunt, who look worried) “... No... I... just suddenly... miss her.”

Missed who? I remember she lost her mom when she was eight.

YN: “You feeding me… so I…”

Her throat tightens, and she mutters sorry before getting up and heading to her room. I don’t understand why she’s so emotional— but again it's her jungkook not you...who wasn't bother in your own grandparents funeral— that's other story. Her stepmom and aunt start to rush after her but stop when I speak up.

Jk: I should go after her— and apologize. This is all my fault…”

Her stepmom: “This is not your fault, She’s probably just missing her. That’s why she wanted to get feed.”

So, it's her sign that she's missing her? That's not the question in present. God...her eyes not make for tears.

Jk: “Yeah, but I still made her cry. Maybe I shouldn’t have fed her like a kid…”

•°•°•°•°•

I find her sitting on the bed, her face buried in a pillow resting on her lap. She's not making any sounds, but I can see the tears slipping down.

Jk: “Mind if I sit next to you?” (I ask, and she shakes her head. I take that as my cue to sit beside her.) “You okay? Can you look at me?”

My heart aches for her. Her eyes reveal a softness that I can almost understand.

YN: “I’m sorry... I shouldn't have run like this...” (she says, surprising me with her immediate apology)

Jk: “What? No, no, no... Don’t apologize. It’s alright to get emotional—

you should learn it first before telling her!

My heart rolled eyes at me I swear!

Jk: You’re not at fault for running away. I should be the one saying sorry for making you cry.”

YN: “You... look, you did nothing. Why are you...”

Jk: “It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have fed you like a kid. I shouldn’t have made you open your mouth like that. I shouldn’t have said such nonsense while feeding you…”

YN: “But... I wanted it...” (she mutters, and I’m taken aback by her words, feeling confused)

Jk: “You wanted it? Then why are you crying?” (raised brows)

“I just think... she would feed me like this...” (She gets a little teary again, and I can’t help but feel for her— it's hurt me more than she would know) “I... try to forget her after getting a new mom, but... I couldn’t.”

My heart aches even more. It must be terrible for her, trying to forget her real mom while wanting to bond with her new one. I speak with more concern.

Jk: “Why did you have to try to forget her?”

YN: “I feel like I'm being wrong to my mom by remembering her. She raised me and treated me really well, you know? I’m so lucky to have a good mom now. But when I remember my birth mom, I just... don’t know. I miss her but don’t want my stepmom to feel like... like I don’t love her. I do... she is my mom.” Her eyes get watery again.

I can see how conflicted she is, and I want to comfort her.

Jk “No, no... You’re not wrong. You can remember your birth mom without loving your stepmom any less. It’s okay to love both of them equally.”

YN: “I know…”

I watch her tears welling up, and I feel an urge to pull her into my arms. Gently, I reach forward and wrap her in a hug.

Jk: “Shss...Don’t cry... You’re alright...” (I hold her close, feeling how fragile and small she is. I gently stroke her back, trying to comfort her)

“Just let it out. You must have been holding your emotions in for a while. It’s okay... You’re not doing anything wrong. You’re allowed to miss and love both your birth mom and your stepmom.”

For God sake apply it in your life too.

I sigh at this, heard her voice just as I was about to leave the room after telling her to take a nap.

YN: “You... you’re not going to feed me again?” (that's what she's worried of? I smiled at her words, how can I not?)

Jk: “I will. But... not as a motherly gesture—more like a husband.”

It had been a few weeks since I returned from India, and I couldn't stop smiling. Whether I was at the gym, at the dining table, or even while bathing, I just felt cheerful.

As I changed shirts, I caught my reflection in the mirror and realized I’d been smiling uncontrollably all day. I chuckled, putting on my new shirt and starting to button.

Jk: “I’ve been smiling like a high school boy with a crush. What’s wrong with me?” (After finishing up, I caught my own stupid grin in the mirror. ) “I look ridiculous... This is so embarrassing!”

AUTHOR POV

Mom: Embarrassing?

He jumps slightly at the sudden intrusion, quickly fixing his expression before turning to face his mom.

Jk: "Hey, Ma. What's up?"

mom: oh son. (sits on bed) so we never get chance to ask since you return from india...Um, how is she?

He hesitates briefly, then sits beside her on the bed. He's never been good at hiding things from his mom.

Jk: "She's...good," (he says slowly) "She's really good." (He can't help the small smile that tugs at his lips)

Mom: "Son, you're not just saying that, are you? You seem...different since you came back. Happier, I guess."

He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. He knows he can't hide anything from her.

Jk:  "No, Ma. I'm not just saying that. She's... really great. Smart, funny, kind... and she's not even trying to be, you know? It's just... natural." (His mom smiles softly, patting his knee)

Mom: "I'm glad, sweetheart. I'm glad you found someone who makes you smile like that." (She pauses, studying him closely) "You're in love, aren't you?"

He freezes, her words striking a chord within him. He hesitates, then nods slowly, admitting the truth to himself as much as to her.

Jk: "Yeah... I think I am." (He looks at his mom, a mix of emotions playing on his face.) "It's scary, Ma."

Mom: Love is always a little scary. It means opening yourself up, being vulnerable. But it's worth it."

lusy: scary what? (she is Jin his cousins fiancee)

lusy: eavesdropping? nah we are just overheard... (His expression hardens, and he stands up, crossing his arms over his chest)

Jk:  "Overheard what, exactly?" (He asks pointedly, his icy stare shifting between Lusy and Sofia)

Mom: com'on son. they are your sisters in law's.. how come you three queens are here? (smile, He uncrosses his arms, his expression softening as he looks at his mom)

Jk: "Alright, alright. I'll let it slide this time," (he says, before turning his icy gaze back to his sisters-in-law. He strides out of the room)

Lusy beamed as she stood in front of Jin, who was focused on his latest case.

Lusy: “Guess what?” she exclaimed.

Jin looked up, his expression flat. “He rejected again,” he said, his eyes still on the files.

Lusy: “No! You won’t believe it! He finally accepted a girl! That means one more member for our group!”

Lusy jumped up with excitement at the thought of adding to her kitty party.

Jin frowned, suddenly stood up, and grabbed his coat before leaving the room. Lusy was left confused.

Lusy: “What’s wrong with him now?”

Hobi couldn’t stop smiling, but Zoe was clearly unhappy.

Zoe: "Stop it. How could he choose an unattractive girl from a village? The boy must have lost his mind! There’s an endless line of beautiful, successful women waiting for him, and he picks someone from a small house in a backward country—"

Jimin: "And let’s not forget, that so-called backward country has given the world countless things." (He walked into the room just as Zoe rolled her eyes.)

Zoe: " You’ve ruined your life, and now you’re letting him make the same mistake!"

Jimin: (his eyes darkened and fists clenched) "If it’s a mistake, then I’d make it over and over again. Now." (His voice was serious as she stormed out.)

Jhope: (sighs) "I’ve gotten used to this by now."

Jimin: "You don’t deserve her. I’m sorry..." (Feeling guilty.)

During the shoot, Jungkook wore a soft expression that surprised everyone used to his cold, angry demeanor.

Camera Man: "Hey, what happened to him? Is he always like this?"

Staff: "No idea. He’s usually cold, glaring at us without a word. This is strange."

Staff 2: "But I like this new side of him. He looks so much better when he’s cheerful."

Camera Man: "Yeah, he’s way more charming like this—especially for the female fans."

They chuckled, watching Jungkook smile as he posed. A female staff member added:

Staff 1: "He’s going to swoon all the female fans like this."

After a break, Jungkook walked over to the refreshment table and overheard their conversation. He smirked, unscrewing his water bottle.

Jungkook: "Let them talk," he thought, taking a sip. Being with her just brings this out in him.
