"You see, which voice actors they choose are crucial. There have been cases where the anime ruined the images of the characters."
"Really!"
"Hi!" Chika-san exclaimed, opening the door with excitement.
"Good afternoon." I greeted with a nod. Their conversation earlier sounded quite lively.
"You two sound excited. What are you talking about?" Kaguya-san questioned. I would like to know as well.
"The weekly manga series that we've been following is getting an anime adaptation." the President answered.
"Whoa! That's bound to get you excited!" Chika-san grinned.
"I wouldn't say excited. Well, yeah I guess I am excited. When a manga you like gets made into an anime, you're excited too, right Ishigami?" he turned to Ishigami-kun.
"No. I don't watch anime." Ishigami-kun stated as he held the new weekly shonen jump.
"But you read so much manga. You even read manga when we go to cafes." I recalled.
"Oh, L-L/n! Uhmm...well, I've never watched anime before. I-I just like games, that's all! It's not like I'm an Otaku, don't hate me!" Ishigami-kun begged.
"But you just said you were looking forward to it!" the President retorted. They were talking about anime earlier.
"I was just following your lead. You were so excited about the anime, I didn't want to put on a damper on your mood." Ishigami-kun's sweat trickled down his forehead.
"No way! Prez is an Otaku!" Chika-san declared.
"Y-You've got it wrong." the President tried to deny the fact that he was an Otaku.
"You don't need to hide it, Prez! Everyone has their weird hobby." Chika-san reassured. How is that even reassurance?
"Umm...what's an Otaku?" Kaguya-san inquired. Of course, she doesn't know what Otakus are.
"An anime Otaku is someone who treats a younger anime character like his mother, insists that she's his bride, and wants to marry her." Chika-san explained.
"President, you want to marry an anime character?!" Kaguya-san squeaked. Of course, she's worried.
"Come on, that's ridiculous. Falling in love with an imaginary character? They're just drawings, c'mon! Who'd have feelings for a drawing?! I'm not a creep who would do that!" he denied.
Those words were like daggers to my heart.
All of you are anime characters and I ended up falling for Ishigami Yu who happens to be an anime character!
Sorry about that, I decided to break the fourth wall for a bit there. That was just a tiny part that Author-chan wanted to add for fun.
"So you thought I was a creep. I get it. You were just following my lead 'cause you're such a nice guy..." Ishigami-kun has entered his depressed state!
"No, what I meant was-" the President got cut off.
"I was so happy, you know. That I could talk about manga with somebody at school." he stared at the ground.
"You even lied about calling Momo-chan super cute!! You're just a liar that acts like a nice guy!" Ishigami-kun cried.
"I'm telling you, I wasn't lying! I wasn't! I do think that Momo-chan is super cute! Believe me, I'm telling the truth!" the President admitted.
"I can't trust anyone anymore..." Ishigami-kun sobbed. Does Ishigami-kun also think of this anime character as someone cute?
"So you're saying that you do want to marry this anime character?" Kaguya-san asked.
"For crying out loud, what the hell am I supposed to say here?!" the President shouted.
"Ishigami-kun, what do you think of this Momo-chan? Is she super duper cute for you to defend her? I glared at him.
I'm going to shut down their industry and make sure they never succeed in life. I'll make sure of that.
"Their future depends on your answer, Ishigami-kun." I threatened, stepping closer to him until I met his gaze.
"No one is cuter than you, L/n! All anime characters can't even compare to a goddess like you!" he blushed.
My cheeks heated up after he said that. He called me cute...all anime characters can't compare to me?
"I guess I'll let them continue their work..." I mumbled with a light blush, standing behind Chika-san to hide my blush.
"Anyways, aren't you an Otaku if you like anime? Then do you have any anime you like, Chika-san?" I questioned.
I made my way to the green sofa where I sat next to Ishigami-kun to take a look at 'Momo-chan'.
"Well, umm...I've seen all the Ghibli movies and I liked them, I guess." she mentioned.
"You're an Otaku! Shinomiya, what about you?!" the President pointed an accusing finger at us.
"Um...Anne of Green Gables, or perhaps..." Kaguya-san couldn't even finish her sentence.
"Only a diehard fan would bring up something that old! You're the biggest Otaku here!!" he shouted.
"You both!" the President turned to Ishigami and me.
"Your Name." Ishigami-kun replied.
"I've watched a lot but the most recent one was Weathering with You." I answered.
"You both are Otakus through and through!" he responded.
"All of us are Otakus, so why are we trying to look down on each other?!" he questioned.
"I wasn't planning to l-" Chika-san got interrupted. We somehow ended up getting scolded.
"Then why are we arguing?! Why don't we believe each other?!" he asked.
"S-Sorry." Ishigami-kun and I apologized for some reason. Why am I even apologizing?!
"It's not weird to find joy in the fact that a manga you liked got an anime adaption, right?!"
"No!"
"It's not weird at all!"
"You should be happy!"
"Umm..."
What just happened?

"Huh? Shinomiya-senpai and Fujiwara-senpai aren't coming today?" Ishigami-kun questioned.
"The second-years have parent-teacher conferences today. Shouldn't you also have a parent-teacher conference today, President?" I reminded.
"I have one too, but since I'm last on the list, I just stopped by to work on the culture festival preparations." the President replied.
"Ahh...parent-teacher conferences..." Ishigami-kun mumbled.
Parent-teacher conferences.
The teacher, parent, and student meet to discuss the student's future, using a career plan survey and final exam results as a basis.
Should the student go to college or look for work?
If college, then should they continue to Shuchiin University or take entrance exams for other universities?
It's a conference to consult their parents.
Moreover, Shuchiin students whose grades are two deviations above the mean have a broad range of options.
They just decided what to do based on what they want to become in the future. A conference is also a place for the student to discuss their dreams.
"Isn't it awful? I'm still a high school student. The future is way off." Ishigami-kun scratched his head.
"You don't have any sort of vision for your future?" the President inquired. Doesn't his family own a famous toy company?
"Honestly, I'm having a bit of trouble deciding. should I become the company president or a neet?" Ishigami-kun wondered.
Those are completely different options...
"I'm pretty sure your family owns a popular toy company. Shouldn't you take that company over?" I recalled.
"My older brother will probably take over the company, and my parents said that they'll leave me to do whatever I want. So technically, not working is also an option, right?" he asked.
"No, it's not an option. If you have the money then at least go to college. Since you can think about what you want to do after that." Iino-Chan advised.
"Iino-chan, are you going into something related to law?" I inquired, staring at the girl next to me.
"That's what I'm planning on. But law is broad. Do I want to be a judge? A public prosecutor?" she pondered.
Just talking about lawyers, there are corporate lawyers and lawyers more focused on the individual.
Among others, there are many different types. There's a wide variety to choose from.
"I know I'm going to Law School, but other than that..." she mumbled.
"Well, you should cross prosecution off your list, since you've already thrown who knows how many people in prison on false charges." Ishigami-kun provoked.
"When someone sues you, Ishigami, I'll be sure not to pull any punches." Iino-chan barked. These two...
"How about you, L/n? Your family owns 5 companies." the President asked me.
"I have 3 older siblings and I'm sure they want to take those companies over. I'm not that close to my father and mother, I have no chance. I might go to college." I answered.
After that incident, there's not even a single chance of me taking over a company that my father owns.
Our family did tear apart after all. It's only a silent war when you get home.
During dinner, we would seat a few seats apart. I would usually be the furthest from my parents.
Anyways, I heard the President is going to Stanford, a school abroad. Chika-san is planning on going to a different university.
Kaguya-san is staying in Shuchiin. Iino-chan is going to a Law School. I'm not sure about Ishigami-kun.
Not everyone will walk the same path. The countdown until our separation has already begun.
On the last day of the culture festival, the Student Council will be torn apart.

"What up. Hey, listen to this. I just saw something absolutely hilarious." Ishigami grabbed the attention of Shinomiya and Shirogane.
"Some guy in the hallway was asking someone out on a date to a culture festival. And she shut him down with a smile on her face!" Ishigami laughed.
"I wish I could've taken a picture or his face when he got turned down." Ishigami continued to mock them.
Shinomiya and Shirogane's courage decreased by 3. The two decided to ask each other out to the culture festival.
Shirogane asked Shinomiya out earlier but got shot down without Shinomiya even knowing.
He still hasn't recovered after Shinomiya rejected him with a smile on her face.
Even though there's already more than enough courage in this room, neither of them can find the last bit of courage to say 'Let's go together'!
They're so close to the finish line, and yet they're trapped in a deadlock! They needed someone to give the final push.
Unfortunately, Ishigami is the wrong person for that kind of job. Even if Shirogane has the determination to ask her out, Ishigami's negativity would've completely sapped it.
They needed someone more normal.
"Hello. Listen to this, I just saw something horrifying." Iino entered the room.
"There was this boy who asked a girl out to a culture festival in public. I can't believe they were openly fraternizing with the opposite gender! I put them back in line though!" Iino proudly stated.
Shinomiya and Kaguya's courage is down another 5. Iino's no good either.
It's the people who seem the most normal that are the most messed up ones.
They needed someone positive but not normal.
"Hiya!" Fujiwara entered the student council room with her everyday bubbly personality.
Shirogane questioned her if Kita High's culture festival was fun, but she said that there was this small issue.
"What issue?" Y/n suddenly entered the room. Ishigami was not prepared and had not yet rehearsed his lines.
"W-We were talking about an issue a-about the thingy!" Ishigami informed, his voice cracking a little.
"Thingy?" Y/n repeated with a sweatdrop.
"Guys were hitting on me when I went to Kita High's culture festival last year." Fujiwara mentioned.

I see...the President is planning to ask Kaguya-san out! That's why he's so eager for Kita High's culture festival.
I want my ship to sail really badly, so I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you get that date!
"I think it's too dangerous for Kaguya to go! It'd be best if you avoid the festival!" Chika-san exclaimed.
"If Kaguya-san went with a boy. Then they wouldn't approach her, right? Those types of stuff only happen when a girl goes alone." I argued.
"Exactly! In times like this, you need to rely on a man!" Kaguya-san agreed.
"It's good to have a strong guy around who can keep watch. Also, two people can conduct a broader investigation than one can!" the President stated.
"So how about you and Ishigami go, Prez?" Chika-san suggested.
Chika-san...I love you with all of my heart, but you have become an iceberg who came to stop my titanic ship.
"Sure..."
"That's a splendid idea..."

"L/n, what do you think of me as a man? Could you see me as a man?" the President asked.
I see...the President is trying to see how others think of him. He's trying to see himself objectively.
"Objectively speaking, you're a great man. But I can only see you as an older brother." I brother-zoned him.
"I see..." he sulked in the corner.
"D-Don't get the wrong idea! You're probably the 4th or 5th best looking in your class!" I tried to cheer him up.
"Only 4th or 5th, huh?" he muttered.
"You're good looking, but just not my type. I'm sure there's a girl out there who's crushing hard on you right now." I stated.
I wonder who's that girl. There's no way it could be the one and only Shinomiya Kaguya.
"So, what kind of guys are your type then, Y/n-chan?" Chika-san questioned with a smirk.
"I would like to know that as well, Y/n-san." Iino-chan mumbled with a hint of pink dusted on her cheeks.
"How about you, Iino-chan? What's your type?" I asked, trying to change the topic.
There's no way I could describe Ishigami-kun without them knowing! They would find out!
"O-Oh, uhmm...someone who looks after me always and understands how I feel. A dashing prince who comes to my rescue when I'm in distress." Iino-chan blushed.
No one like that exists...
"How about you, Chika-san? What does your perfect guy look like?" I asked. This strategy of mine is working!
"I'm the opposite of Miko-chan. He doesn't need to be perfect. I like someone who can be honest about their flaws and faults and keep trying even if it's embarrassing. A hard worker..." she quickly turned away.
"Wait, no! That's not what I meant! I guess...I like guys like Prez if you take away his weak points." she stared at the President.
"Anyways, you completely evaded Fujiwara's question earlier. What's your type of guys, L/n?" the President asked.
"O-Oh, uhhh...well uhmm..." I stammered. I can't think of anything!
Should I just answer truthfully?
Or should I lie?
"I like guys who help others without needing their gratitude. I like guys who don't plan on using you. I like guys that-" I quickly covered my mouth.
"Oh, I see. That describes someone very well." Chika-san held a smug face as she smirked at me.
"Like who?!" Iino-chan questioned eagerly.
"What's this? What in the world is going on?" Kaguya-san joined us. Perfect timing!
"Oh, hi Kaguya. Prez told us to roast him. So now we're holding a meeting to legally slander the Prez." Chika-san explained.
No...that's not what we were doing. Well, she's close but not that close either.
"Why would I call a meeting just to be abused?!" the President sweatdropped.
"Are you up to something strange again, Fujiwara?" Kaguya-san sighed.
"Whoa! I didn't start it!" she defended herself.
I should use this opportunity to ask Kaguya-san what she thinks about the President. It's a good idea.
"Kaguya-san, the President would also like to know your opinion on what he should change about himself. Do you mind?" I asked.
"What he should change about himself? I don't think he needs to change. In my opinion, the President is fine as he is." she stated.
"No, that's can't be right. I have a lot to work on. There are a lot of things I need to improve about myself. I'm a new man now!" he said with full-on confidence.
The President has found his self-confidence again...
"Hey Kaguya, it's unfair for you to be the only one who compliments him. If you look hard enough, you'll definitely find something wrong with him!" Chika-san said.
"Fujiwara-senpai, why don't you take a moment to look at yourself objectively?" someone came in. Ishigami-kun!
"Look at you, talking trash about people with a smile on your face. There's definitely something wrong with you as a human being." Ishigami-kun stated.
"That's true. Iino-chan, you shouldn't speak badly of others as well." I advised.
"I was just speaking on behalf of all women." she stammered. I heard them roasting the President earlier before I came in the room.
"You guys should learn to view yourselves objectively." the President sighed.
"We don't wanna hear that from you, Prez!" Chika-san screamed.
Indeed, none of us can view ourselves objectively. Such is the human condition.
