" i will fall in love with you over and over again
HIS LEG BOUNCED, anxiously awaiting Rocket's go-ahead that the glove was ready. He bit his thumbnail, watching the infinity stones glisten off the light of the holograms holding it suspended in the air.
"All right, the glove's ready." Rocket announced. "Question is, who's gonna snap their freakin' fingers?"
"I'll do it," Thor spoke up from beside Blake.
"Excuse me?" Tony questioned.
"It's okay," Thor reassured, walking up to the group. Tony and Steve held out their hands to stop Thor from getting closer to the glove.
"Hey, wait. Stop, stop. Slow down."
"Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet." Steve told him calmly.
"Well, I'm sorry. What, we're all just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?"
"We should at least discuss it," Scott added.
"Look, sitting here staring at the thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So, this responsibility falls upon me. It's my duty."
"Normally, you're right," Tony interjected.
Blake sighed heavily as the adults continued to bicker.
"Just let me do it." Thor reasoned. "Just let me do something good. Something right."
"Look," Tony began. "It's not just the fact that that glove is channeling enough energy to light up a continent. I'm telling you, you are in no condition."
"What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?" Thor asked.
"Cheez Whiz?" Rhodes replied, earning a quick side-eye.
"Lightening," Thor corrected to Tony.
"Yeah,"
"Lightening," Thor emphasized.
"Lightning won't help you, pal," Bruce spoke up. "It's gotta be me. You saw what those stones did to Thanos. They almost killed him. None of you could survive."
"How do we know you will?" Steve asked.
"We don't," Bruce answered shortly, approaching the glove. "But the radiation's mostly gamma. It's like...I was made for this."
Bruce grabbed the glove, holding it in his grasp.
"Good to go, yeah?" Tony asked.
Bruce nodded. "Let's do it,"
"Okay, remember, everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago, you're just bringing them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years." Tony clarified.
Once again, Bruce nodded. "Got it,"
Blake went over to join Rocket by the table, pressing the button at his neck to put his helmet on. Rocket gave him a curt nod, putting on his goggles while Thor stood in front of the two. The doors and windows around them were covered with heavy metal, blocking anything from going in or out.
"Everybody comes home," Bruce muttered before lifting his hand to the glove.
Blake watched in anticipation over Thor's shoulder whilst the glove expanded around Bruce's hand, fitting to his size. Once the glove was attached, it surged with power, bringing Bruce to his knees as he groaned in pain. It electrified his veins, the rainbow of colors glowing through his hand and across his body.
"Take it off! Take it off!" Thor shouted.
"No, wait," Steve interjected. "Bruce, are you okay?"
"Talk to me, Banner," Tony added after Bruce continued to groan. His shirt seized off his body starting at his wrist up to his shoulder. Blake winced, seeing the bubble of burns on Bruce's arm.
"I'm okay," He heaved, nodding his head. "I'm okay,"
Bruce straightened himself, bringing the glove up. Yelling, he strained her fingers and snapped.
Blake turned, covering his eyes with his arm from the bright light. He turned back in an instant to see Bruce fall to the ground.
"Bruce!"
Crowding the man, Blake kicked the glove that had fallen off his hand away from them.
"Don't move him," Tony ordered, spraying a white chemical all over Bruce's burns.
"Did it work?" Bruce asked.
"We're not sure. It's okay. It's okay," Thor reassured. The doors and windows were once again letting light seep in. Blake stared towards the sun, wondering if somewhere in the universe Ellie was out there waiting for him. His heart raced and his feet iched to move.
He looked over and saw Rocket standing beside, squinting up into the sky as well.
Suddenly, blasts were shot into the building.
Blake yelled as the floor below him caved in. He clawed at the remains of the floor before he fell through breaks in the surface.

BLAKE GROANED AND coughed, his bones and muscles screaming in agony.
"Oh God," He coughed, trying to push himself to his knees. "I definitely broke something," He was soaked with water, his hair sticking to his face and his clothes suctioned to his body.
"I can't breathe! I can't breathe!" A voice squeaked from beside him. He wiped his hair from his face and turned to see Rocket being crushed by rubble.
"Rocket!" Blake shouted in panic, crawling over to him. Without much awareness of his surroundings, he hit his head on a piece of concrete, making him stumble on his knees. "Ow, shit," He uttered, holding his head.
"Rhodey, Rocket, Blake get out of here," Bruce shouted over the water falling around them. He was the only reason they hadn't been crushed to death as he held up a large piece of concrete debris.
"Let me up! Let me up!" Rocket cried.
Blake finished his crawl over to him and tried to push the debris off of the raccoon's small frame.
"Let me up!"
"I'm trying you lunatic!" Blake shouted back.
"Blake!" Rhodey called, bringing the boy's attention to him. Rhodey held a long pipe, crawling over to them. Blake quickly caught on and helped Rhodey push the pipe under the debris and use it to pry it from Rocket.
Once Rocket was free the three fell to the ground with exhaustion.
"Rhodey!" Bruce shouted. Blake glanced up to see water flooding into their area. Blake scrambled back to his knees in an attempt to run, but the water was quicker. He was swept from his ground, frantically swiping at the water to try and stay afloat.
He gasped for air, staring at the debris closing him in. He shouted in anger, hitting the debris with his fist.
"No!"
After everything, he was not going to go out like this, without seeing Ellie one last time.
"See you on the other side, man." Rhodey gasped, the water reaching their chins.
Whilst Blake shouted in a fury, Rocket whimpered trying to take deep breaths.
"Hold on guys! I'm coming!"
โญโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโญ
BLAKE GASPED FOR air, gripping Scott's hand as he carried the four out of the debris in his giant form.
He tapped his neck, putting his helmet over his head. He steadied himself as Scott lowered them to the ground and he carefully jumped off.
He braced himself on the land, his eyes widening at the alien army ahead of them.
"Holy shit," He gasped. He turned, his eyes going wider at the army of heroes behind him. "Holy shit!" He jumped on his feet, quickly scanning the crowd for the familiar face. "Oh, we're so doing this," He chuckled, rotating the ache from his shoulders.
He reached into his holsters, pulling out his two blasters.
"I'm comin' baby," He muttered, looking back to the alien army.
"Avengers..." Steve shouted. "Assemble."
"What'd he say?" Blake asked Rocket as people began to yell out battle cries.
Rocket shrugged. "I don't know, just go with it."
Blake nodded, shouting his own battle cry and running towards the army. He slid under a couple of large aliens, blasting their legs and back as he passed them. He jumped onto a large piece of debris and shot at the aliens from a safer distance.
"Watch out!"
Blake turned for cover as a piece of debris flying for Blake was blasted to bits. He turned back around to thank the person, seeing Peter land beside him.
"Peter?" He asked, even though the man stood right in front of him.
"Blake?" Peter replied, tilting his head, Blake wordlessly nodded his head. Peter sighed, tapping his hand on Blake's shoulder. "At least you're still younger than me. Watch your back more carefully okay?"
Blake smiled in relief, nodding. "I will."
"See you on the other side little bro," Peter laughed, holding his fist up.
Blake met his fist with his own. "See you on the other side," Blake readied his blasters again as Peter flew off with his boosters.
He jumped off the pile, firing at anything that moved. For what felt like hours, Blake blasted, dodged, and hit anything that came too close to him that didn't look human.
Aliens surrounded him, clawing at every turn. Blake spun in circles, shouting with exertion. He grabbed any device he could get his hand on in his pockets. He pulled out an electric bomb and threw it. Even with the blast, it caused to get rid of dozens, more continued to come at him.
He sighed, creating a path into a hiding spot to block everything out from one area. Just as he was about to get closed in, a large cloud of blue electricity shot through the aliens, burning them from the inside out. Blake took a moment to catch his breath, a moment of peace washing over him as he wasn't surrounded by anything.
He heard the sound of rocks crunching behind him, and with the all-familiar light of sparks, he had a feeling of who it could be. He turned around slowly, his breath catching in his throat. His mind and body froze, looking at the girl he had seen in his mind every day for the last five years. The girl he heard in his head. The girl who had haunted him beautifully since the day he lost her.
Ellie smiled at him, her dimple poking through. Blake remained in his spot, blinking at her as she walked up to him, her bright smile becoming warry at his expression. Blake sighed dreamily, tapping his neck, his helmet no longer blocking his clear vision of her.
He traced her facial features with his gaze, waiting for her to disappear before him like she had every other time he'd seen her.
"Ellie?" He choked, raising his hand to touch her...to make sure she was real. "Is it...is it really you?" The tips of his fingers traced her cheekbone and then her jaw. His touch so gentle as if Ellie was made of porcelain and would crack under his pressure.
"Of course it's me." Ellie chuckled airly, gripping his forearms and cranking her neck to look up at him. He slid his hands to the back of her neck, rubbing his thumbs along her cheeks.
Blake swallowed thickly, tears springing to his eyes. "I can't believe..." He smiled, a short laughter of joy escaping him. "God, I missed you." He sighed before smashing his lips against hers. He cradled the back of her head in his hand and moved his other arm tight around her waist. Bringing his lips to her cheek, he peppered kisses down to her neck. "I love you. I love you so much Sparky,"
Ellie wrapped her arms tight around the boy's neck, shutting her eyes tight as her heart ached.
"I love you, Blake."
She couldn't imagine what she would have done, being away from him for five years. I mean...she was but it only felt like a couple of seconds.
She threaded her hands through his hair, pulling away to get a good look at him. His face was broader, sharper, and more grown up. His eyes looked tired, his smile torn at its edges. He was slimmer but stronger somehow.
Blake shut his eyes, relishing the feeling of her hands in his hair. His stomach flipped, heat creeping up his neck and flushing into his cheeks.
"Your hair is longer," She said, twisting the hairs between her fingers. Blake chuckled, looking back down at her with pinkish cheeks. "I like it," She added, smiling.
"You do?"
She nodded, sniffling. "Yeah,"
They jumped as a sudden blast went off beside them, the remains of an alien lying a couple of yards from them.
"As touching as this reunion is," Rocket said from beside them, pulling their attention. "We kind of have a war to finish."
Ellie stepped away from Blake, smiling at Rocket.
She gestured to Rocket's wrists. "I see you kept my bracelets safe,"
Rocket shrugged, keeping his gaze down. "Yeah well, I should have kept a lot of things safe."
Ellie sucked in her lips, a new rush of tears flooding her gaze. She wanted to hug him, to tell him how much she worried about him and Groot cause she didn't know if they were okay. She knew now that he had been left behind, without her and without Groot. But he was right, they had a war to finish.
"We'll meet on the other side all right?" Ellie sniffed.
Rocket nodded, cocking his guns. "Right,"
Blake grabbed Ellie's hand as Rocket ran off. His eyes were wide with panic, afraid she would vanish as quickly as she appeared.
"We do this together okay?" His voice shook, his fear pounding deep in his heart. He had just gotten her back and he'll be damned if he let that asshole steal her from him again.
Ellie nodded, an electrical crack shooting through her eyes. "Together,"
Blake let go of her hand, grabbing his blasters once more as they turned back to the battle at hand.
"Let's kick some ass!" Ellie cheered, breaking into a sprint. Blake put his helmet back on, following after her.
Ellie spun on her heels, using her electricity to push her into the air. Pushing herself into a flip, she created of ball of electricity in her hands, throwing it to the ground as she landed. It shot through the earth below, shocking and burning any alien it reached.
"Anyone see an ugly brown van out there?" Steve called out.
"Yeah! But you're not gonna like where it's parked!"
"Scott, how long you need to get that thing working?" Tony asked.
"Uh, maybe ten minutes."
"Get it started," Steve ordered. "We'll get the stones to you."
"We're on it, Cap."
Ellie and Blake stood back to back, blasting with guns and sparks. Ellie looked up to the sky, watching as the large ship above them aimed their cannons at the ground.
"Get behind me!" Ellie shouted, pushing her electrical force field above her. Blake ducked down, not questioning her as debris started to fly around them. Ellie grunted with force, pushing the force field away from her to keep it around her and Blake.
Ellie heaved through jagged breaths, her shoulders sagging when the firing stopped. She dropped to her knees, her force field crackling away. Blake swooped down beside her, helping her stay up as they both looked at the sky.
The cannons that had once been aimed at them now turned to something coming from miles away in the atmosphere.
"What the hell are they firing at?" Blake muttered, helping Ellie stand up.
A bright yellow ball shot out from the clouds, shooting straight through the large foreign ship. The inside exploded, causing the cannons to power down.
Ellie gasped at what appeared to be a glowing woman, flying above the ship as it crashed into the ocean below.
"Oh, she's my idol." Ellie sighed, tightening the hair ties on her french braids.
"Danvers, we need an assist here." Steve huffed.
Ellie followed the woman who landed in front of Peter Parker, passing the glove to her. Ellie broke from Blake's side, joining the other women who surrounded her, all ready to face the army ahead of them.
"Kick ass and take names," Mantis spoke, walking beside Ellie.
"Amen," Ellie affirmed, bumping fists with Mantis before they broke out into a run.
She pulled her dagger from her thigh and jumped onto the back of a large alien, surging her electricity into it.
After getting the creature to its hands and knees, she glanced up, spotting a familiar head of black and pink hair and green skin.
Her eyes went wide and her grip slacked.
"Gamora?"
With a flash she was thrown off the creature's back, tumbling to the ground from the force of a blast that radiated throughout the whole battlefield.
Hands grabbed at her under her arms, pulling her arm.
"Come on," Blake huffed, out of breath from his run over to her. "Gotta move, let's go." He pulled his blaster out and fired at an alien running towards them.
"Gamora," She uttered in a daze. Blake furrowed his brows at her.
"NO!" A rippling scream broke through the shouts and fires of battle. A loud blast and a flash of white followed right after. Blake could only hear the shallow breaths of his own and Ellie's as they shielded themselves. Upon the silence, they looked out into the battle, finding the aliens turning to dust before their eyes.
All of them faded and a new peace flowed through the air.
"Tony!" A voice cried. They turned to see a blonde girl, Annabelle from Titan, sprinting across the field. "Tony!"
Blake and Ellie looked at each other with worried glances before following where the blonde was headed.
When they reached the area, Tony was leaning against a pile of debris, most of his body charred with burns and his face almost ghost-like. Annabelle was kneeling in front of him, one hand on his chest and her other in his. Tony was looking at her, his gaze distant and his mouth barely moving to try and form words. Peter Parker stood behind her, covering his mouth as his shoulders shook.
"Oh, god," Ellie gasped, covering her mouth, her eyes glossing over at the heartbreaking sight.
Pepper Potts gently grabbed the young girl's shoulders, pulling her to stand up. Annabelle turned to her, grabbing the woman's hands with a tight squeeze before joining Peter. Their arms wrapped around each other, sobbing into each other's embrace.
The only sounds across the field were that of crackling fire and grieving hearts as the rest of the army took a knee. Gods, kings, aliens, warriors, supers, animals, and everyone in between knelt before the man who had sacrificed himself for them and the rest of the universe.
