" if the world was ending
i'd wanna be next to you "
ELLIE HID AROUND a pile of debris, Annabelle right next to her as they waited for Thanos to arrive.
"So," Ellie began, trying to make conversation to distract her from her nerves. "You and Peter Parker, huh?"
"What?" Annabelle questioned, looking over at the black-haired girl. "Oh, no." She chuckled lightly. "Petes, not my boyfriend. We're-We're not together. I-I mean, we almost kissed a few times but, I've been away for a bit with Tony. Peter and I are just friends." Annabelle sighed, finishing her ramble.
"You had me fooled, with the way you two look at each other." Ellie shrugged.
Annabelle shrunk, her cheeks shading pink. "I'm that obvious?"
"Oh, yeah." Ellie nodded her head dramatically. Ellie nudged the frowning blonde's shoulder. "Just make the first move, I did with Blake... well kind of. Actually, maybe I'm not the best example. My point is...if you feel this way, do something about it, cause you'll regret it if you don't, and then it's too late."
Annabelle nodded, taking the girl's words to heart.
Ellie looked around the side of the debris, quickly turning back around. "He's here." She informed the blonde. They turned themselves around, ready to pounce as they watched Thanos talk to Doctor Strange.
"And where do you think he brought you?" Thanos asked.
"Why isn't Gamora with him?" Ellie whispered, mainly to herself as she narrowed her eyes at the giant.
"Maybe he's keeping her somewhere," Annabelle suggested with a shrug, trying to stay optimistic.
"Let me guess. Your home?"
Annabella and Ellie looked around as the scenery around them turned into what Titan would have looked like in the past before it was destroyed.
"It was. And it was beautiful. Titan was like most planets. Too many mouths, not enough to go around. And when we faced extinction, I offered a solution." Thanos explained.
"Genocide."
"But random, dispassionate, fair to rich and poor alike. They called me a madman. And what I predicted came to pass."
"Fucking lunatic," Ellie grumbled, her hands tightening into fists. Annabelle wordlessly nodded, agreeing with the girl. Titan's scenery went back to normal.
"Congratulations, you're a prophet."
"I'm a survivor," Thanos replied, tilting his head. Ellie gritted her teeth, wanting to smack the shit out of his massive purple face and watch as his body convulsed from her electricity coursing through him.
"Who wants to murder trillions." Strange added.
"With all six stones, I could simply snap my fingers." Thanos demonstrated with his fingers on the hand without the gauntlet. "They would all cease to exist. I call that...mercy."
Annabelle and Ellie glanced at each other, worry clear in their expressions.
Strange stood up from his seat. "And then what?"
"I'd finally rest...and watch the sunrise on a grateful universe. The hardest choices require the strongest wills." Thanos looked down at the ground.
"I think," Strange began, creating two glowing orange circle shields. "-you'll find our will equal to yours."
"That's our cue! That's our cue!" Annabelle squeaked. The two girls made their way around the debris as Tony flew half of the ship onto Thanos.
"Piece of cake, Quill," Tony said through their coms.
"Yeah, if your goal was to piss him off."
Ellie ran at Thanos, pulling her dagger out, and followed Drax's lead. She slid on her side and swiped Thanos's leg, making him yell at the sharp pain. She jumped onto his back, grabbing hold of the back of his suit to stay on. She created small shields as Thanos tried to reach around his back to grab her small frame. She stabbed his shoulder with her dagger, causing another yell from the large alien.
Blake jumped onto orange platforms, holding an electrical bomb. He flipped over the top of Thanos, attaching the ticking blast to Thanos's back. Ellie quickly wrapped her hand around it, keeping a tight hold on the handle of her dagger.
Thanos turned to Blake as the boy landed flipping off the alien, an orange sparking portal appearing behind him.
"Boom!" Blake shouted, jumping into the portal.
Ellie yelled, feeling the electricity flow through her body. Her hair stood and sparks crackled from her. Thanos yelled in pain, the electricity from Ellie into her dagger and making the bomb on his back more powerful. It went off, crackling Ellie's blue electricity, making Thanos fall to his knees.
"Where's Gamora, asshole?" Ellie asked harshly in the giant's ear.
Thanos grunted, finally grabbing the girl by her wrist and throwing her off his shoulder.
Ellie created a full shield around her as she flew through the air, the shield protecting her as she hit a building. She fell to the ground with a huff, she quickly got up and ran back after Thanos to join the fight once again.
Strange now had a hold on Thanos's Gauntlet, his other arm being held back by one of Peter's electrical magnet devices. Parker had a web around Thano's shoulder to keep him down, his hands keeping a hold on the string. Annabelle stood next to Parker, her hands covered in wisps of blue, the same color covering Thanos's other arm, keeping him from reaching for his gauntlet. Drax was holding onto the purple giant's cafe, keeping him kneeling.
Tony landed next to the gauntlet, trading places with Strange. He moved to hold down Thanos's other side after opening a portal that Mantis jumped out of, landing on top of Thanos and placing her palms on the side of his head. Blake and Ellie both rushed over to help Tony try and pull the gauntlet off.
Thanos screamed, trying to fight Mantis's powers in his mind. Mantis grunted, her antennas glowing white, pushing her limits to get into the giant's mind, who finally calmed.
"Is he under?" Tony asked from beside Blake and Ellie. "Don't let up."
"Be quick. He is very strong." Mantis told them, closing her eyes to focus on Thanos.
"Okay you two, come on." Tony encouraged the two teens beside him. "She can't hold him for much longer, let's go."
"We gotta open his fingers to get it off." Ellie quickly scrambled, having yet to touch the gauntlet as Blake and Tony pulled on it.
"I thought you'd be hard to catch," Peter commented, landing in front of Thanos and taking off his mask. "For the record, this was my plan."
Ellie rolled her eyes, too busy prying open Thano's fingers to comment.
"You're not so strong now, huh? Where is Gamora?" Peter asked, getting in the giant's face.
"My Gamora." Thanos groaned.
"No, bullshit! Where is she?"
Thanos didn't answer, only groaning as a response.
"He is in anguish," Mantis said.
"Good," Peter stated, still waiting for an answer.
"H-He...he mourns." Mantis choked out, tears blurring her eyes. Ellie's focus shifted more to Mantis, the tone didn't sit right with her.
"Sparky, stay with me, you gotta focus." Blake quickly spoke to her.
"Parker, we need help," Tony called, making the spider-boy quickly release his web and run over.
"What does this monster have to mourn?" Drax strained, gripping tighter on Thanos's leg.
"Gamora," A voice said. A voice that the Guardians quickly realized belonged to Nebula who had shown up to the fight. Peter turned to Nebula, refusing to think what he thought was true.
"What?"
"He took her to Vormir. He came back with the Soul Stone. But she didn't." Nebula explained.
"No," Ellie whispered, her lip quivering and eyes burning.
"Els," Blake strained, trying to get her attention as she let go of the gauntlet.
"Blake...she can't be," Ellie mumbled, her throat tight.
"Ellie focus," Blake pleaded, Ellie nodded grabbing the gauntlet once again, providing much-needed force as the gauntlet slid further off of Thanos's hand.
"Okay. Quill, you gotta cool it right now. You understand?" Tony quickly said, nervous about Peter's expression as he turned to Thanos.
"Pete," Blake called, watching his brother. "-don't, don't. We almost got this off!"
"Tell me she's lying," Peter demanded. "Asshole, tell me you didn't do it!" A small sob escaped passed Ellie's lips, covering it up with a groan as she pulled on the gauntlet.
"I had to," Thanos replied slowly.
"No, you didn't," Peter muttered, shaking his head. "No, you didn't."
"Peter," Ellie called sternly, pushing away the cry that wanted to escape. Peter looked over at the young teen and he was reminded of Gamora's last words she spoke to him.
Peter looked back at Thanos and cranked his arm back with his blaster.
"No, you didn't!" Peter yelled, hitting Thanos repeatedly in the face.
"Quill!" Drax yelled.
"Stop! Stop!" Tony shouted. Tony jumped off and held Peter's arm back. The other three teens pulled hard against the gauntlet.
"It's coming, it's coming," Parker commented.
"We got it, we got it," Blake added. Just as it was about to pass the tip of Thanos's fingers, Thanos snapped back, grabbing the gauntlet, and making the teens tumble back.
Ellie quickly got up with sniffles, grabbing onto Blake's arm as he coughed.
"You okay?" She asked him, to which he nodded, taking deep breaths. Ellie looked up at the sky, eyes wide. "Holy shit," she muttered.
Thanos had grabbed a moon and was throwing it down in pieces onto Titan.
Ellie scrambled to her feet, keeping Blake behind her. "Please work, please work, please work." She mumbled to herself, throwing her hands out, creating a large shield over her and Blake.
Ellie grunted as large rocks and debris smashed against her shield. Holding it up as hard as she could she fell to her knees, closing her eyes. Once they ceased, the gravitational pull of the planet was even more thrown off than before.
Ellie let her shield crackle away, the smoke surrounding them dispersing as she stood up. Blake quickly moved and hooked his arm under her shoulders to keep her up, kneeling beside her.
"Great job, Sparky."
"Thanks," Ellie sighed, finding some energy to stand up on her own.
"Where is he?" They heard Peter yell. Blake stood up and grabbed Ellie's hand. They had looked around and their stomachs dropped when there was no sign of Thanos. "Did we just lose?"
Tony sighed, part of his suit had been destroyed and Annabelle stood next to him, holding his shoulder and he bandaged a wound.
Tony tiredly looked over at Strange. "Why would you do that?"
"We're in the endgame now." Strange painted, blood dripping from his brow.

EVERYONE GATHERED TOGETHER. Blake held his arm around Ellie. Peter helped Mantis stay up as Nebula and Drax walked behind them.
"Something's happening," Mantis spoke, feeling a strange sensation overtake her body. Ellie jumped and covered her mouth as Mantis turned to dust in Peter's arms.
"Quill?" Drax called, looking down at his arm that had turned to dust.
"No," Ellie cried, leaving Blake's side to reach for the man. She stumbled and clutched at her chest.
"Peter," Blake whispered, the brothers staring at each other.
"Oh, man." Peter sighed, turning into dust.
"Blake?" Ellie called, turning to her boyfriend. Blake's eyes widened, looking at Ellie's disappearing feet.
"No, no, no, no," Blake muttered, rushing over to her and catching her in his arms.
Ellie smashed her lips against his, her shaking hand resting on his cheek.
She pulled away, giving the boy a sad smile.
"Don't," Blake shook his head, tears dropping from his eyes. "Sparky," She couldn't be leaving him. After everything...Thanos took everyone else. She had to fight it. Thanos had to let her stay, or take him with her. "Please no,"
"I love you star-boy," Ellie whispered before turning to dust in his arms.
Blake choked on a sob, words failing him as he closed his eyes tight. He turned to sit down, putting his face into his hands. "Take me too. Please, take me too." He sobbed into his hands.
"He did it," Nebula stated. Blake looked over at her, his eyes red and cheeks stained with his salty tears. Blake realized that there were only three of them left. He, Nebula, and Tony Stark.
He was alone. He was the last remaining Guardian on Titan. Everyone was gone.
His Ellie was gone.
