Natasha had found you and Yelena on the ground surrounded by the ruins of Red Room after taking down ad freeing Antonia from the mind control.

She was kneeling in front of both of you as she apologized profusely in your mother tongue for leaving you two behind in the Red Room when she escaped.

"It was real to me too,"

Hearing those words from Natasha made you and Yelena smile tearily, half in happiness and half in relief. You and Yelena leaned into her embrace as she brought you both into a group hug, breaking down on your shoulders.

"Thank you," Yelena muttered, eyes closing shut.

"I love you guys," you muttered into Natasha's shoulder, making her pull you closer to her.

The redhead pressed a kiss to your cheek while Yelena hugged you tighter.

Alexie and Melina walked towards you three, the latter being supported by the former.

It seemed like she had on the open wound on her left thigh but still managed to limp over to the younger assassins.

"Everybody good?" Natasha questioned, standing next to you while Yelena was on your other side.

"I am clearly injured," Melina replied bluntly.

"You got something to say?" she asked the man.

Alexei let out a breath, "I'd just mess it up,"

He reached over and his palm was met with Natasha's own, a silent way for apologizing for the mistakes he had admitted and hurt her in the past.

He next looked over to you and you only nodded at him in acknowledgment with a small smile, receiving on back from him.

The distant reverberation and roars of car engines were heard rumbling through the already tense air.

"Here comes the cavalry," Natasha commented referring to Secretary Ross with his fellow men.

"What's our plan?" Melina asked her.

"You guys go," Natasha replied, "I will stay."

In an instant, there was a burst of argument as they each voice their views on this last-minute plan Natasha had concocted. Voices were overlapping, which created a mix of words to fill the air and made Natasha confused. But this only causes each of them to try and speak louder in an attempt for the redhead to listen and allow them to join her to fight against Ross.

"Don't be ridiculous," you remarked.

"Y/N, Natasha, we fight with you," Alexie stated in determination.

"We can fight better together," Yelena uttered.

"You're both so pig-headed," Melina commented.

"You guys, go," Natasha repeated, and they fell silent at once. "Besides if it can work out with all of us, there may be some hope for the Avengers. A little bit,"

"Okay, well, if you're leaving then I guess you should take this." Yelena took off her vest, walking towards her, "I know how much you like it,"

"Shucks," Natasha took it from her with a smile, "It does have a lot of pockets, to be fair."

"Very handy pockets, yeah,"

"I'm offended," you scoffed dramatically, making Natasha chuckle.

"Well," she pulled out a dagger from her thigh strap and handed it to you, "How would you settle for this?"

"Hm," you twisted the blade in your hand, motioning a few moves in the air in front of you, "Not bad,"

But truth be told, you were glad that you got Natasha's dagger, given that you had a special liking to blades and you were even quite an expert in using them to combat.

"Dreykov had Widows implanted all over the world," Natasha pulled out the last tube of the counteragent she had, "Melina will need to copy the formula, but I think you two should be the ones to tell them it's over," she handed it to you and the disk with the widows in control.

An aircraft was heard landing nearby, causing all to turn towards the noise with curiosity and slight fear. Each one of the Widows that had been freed moments ago was now stepping out of the aircraft. They all begin to make their way over to the five, but you and Yelena walked forward and decide to meet them halfway.

"You came back for us," the blonde stated, looking from one to another in surprise.

"ะœั‹ ะฑั‹ ะฝะต ะพัั‚ะฐะฒะธะปะธ ะฒะฐั ะฟะพะทะฐะดะธ," one of the women replied with a determined nod.(Translation: We couldn't leave you behind.)

"Thank you," Yelena walked past the windows, catching and squeezing their hand in gratitude and appreciation and you followed her closely.

"Hey, you," Melina limped in her place and turned to Natasha, "You take care of yourself, okay?"

"Don't worry, We got this," Natasha nodded in reassurance.

"I know,"

You turned around in your place, giving a knowing look to Yelena to which she gave a grin.

You both puckered your lips and let two long whistles at the same time.

Natasha nodded in acknowledgment, whistling a long note with two short ones.

There was a brief pause in which you and Yelena beamed at your elder sister, silently exchanging goodbyes with soft smiles and pained hearts, knowing that you both had to leave her.

With a final curt nod, you and Yelena walked backward together where the jet was waiting for you both and Alexie helped them up.

The jet's engine roared to life as it took off from the ground. Natasha watched its course through the air until it was a tiny speck to her.

Unknown to her inevitable fate, she didn't know it was the last time that she would see you and Yelena.

"Come on, Fanny," Yelena grunted as she stepped out of her truck, taking her dog with her, "Y/N?"

"Just a minute," you responded, kicking the door shut behind you.

Yelena let Fanny walk ahead into the quiet field, waiting for you to catch up with her.

You both dreaded to come here, fearing that what you had tried to deny was true after all. The news had different reactions from Melina and Alexie.

You were the one to break the news to Melina and Alexie, given that Yelena had called you on your phone.

Melina collapsed onto the couch behind her, covering her face as her emotions took over her and her shoulders shook in heart-wrenching sobs.

Alexie's eyebrows had furrowed and his beard twitched as he tried to keep his cries within himself. He was lost in his thoughts the entire day and did everything wrong, struggling to focus. He would zone out while doing chores; mere seconds later, a tear or two would roll down his cheek and disappear into his beard.

You walked along with Yelena, looking around at the quiet meadow, your stomach churning as you got closer to your elder sister's grave.

Your eyes already felt heavy with tears when you spotted the grave of her beloved sister; which was showered with flowers, gifts, cards, pictures, and even stuffed animals as a way to appreciate the selfless woman.

DAUGHTER โ€ข SISTER โ€ข AVENGER

Yelena set aside and arranged the offerings while you kneeled down beside her.

You and Yelena whistled, hopelessly waiting for your elder sister to whistle back their parts, knowing very well that she wouldn't.

Yelena rested her forehead against the edge of the tombstones, wrinkling her face up in a silent sob as you did the same on the other side.

You both walked over to the front of Natasha's grave and stood next to each other. You felt Yelena loop her arm through the curve of yours, holding you close to her protectively.

The sound of some blowing their noses in an obnoxiously loud volume caught your attention and you and Yelena turned to the side.

Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

"Sorry," Valentina apologized, "I'm allergic to the Mid-West."

You glared ahead the tombstone after sharing a dirty look with your sister.

"What these two women did," she continued to speak, "Honestly, I can't even imagineโ€”"

"You're not supposed to be bothering us on our holiday time, Valentina," Yelena deadpanned, leaning past you to glance at her.

"Oh, bothering you?" she looked taken aback, "Oh, no, no, no. I'm just here to pay my respects."

"Come up with a better excuse," you rolled your eyes with a huff of breath.

"You know, coming here makes you look desperate," Yelena pointed out.

Valentina started to laugh dazzlingly and you and your sister chuckled and nodded along sarcastically.

"Okay," she nodded in surrender.

"We need a raise," Yelena slipped her hands in her pockets.

"Oh, you and me, both," Valentina jerked a thumb behind her back with a chuckle, "And believe me, both of you are gonna earn it. I've got your next targets," she pulled a tab out of her bag and tapped on it a few times, "Thought I'd hand-deliver it," she passed the screen to you, "Maybe you two would like a shot at the man responsible for your sister's deaths."

The tab in your grip had a picture of Clint Barton, a well-known Avenger, walking through the street in his Ronan suit.

"Kind of a cutie, don't you think?" Valentina commented.

You spared a glance at her and turned to lock eyes with Yelena, silently exchanging a vow to get revenge for your elder sister's death.
