The morning after the Suryavanshi familyโ€™s arrival began with a burst of lively chaos.

The Sherawat Mansion was a symphony of overlapping voices, clinking utensils, and the rustling of footsteps as everyone prepared for a long-awaited family outing to the nearby Sand Dunes Resortโ€”a favorite tradition shared by the two families since the childrenโ€™s younger days.

Anshita rushed out of her room, almost colliding with Mayank in the hallway.
โ€œCareful, little doctor!โ€ he teased, grabbing her shoulders to steady her.

โ€œMayank, not now,โ€ Anshita snapped, swatting his hands away. โ€œWhereโ€™s Avni?โ€
โ€œProbably still convincing Ansh to wear something decent,โ€ he chuckled, leaning lazily against the wall.

Downstairs, the Suryavanshis were already gathered, their presence filling the grand foyer with a royal yet familiar charm.

Queen Anshita Suryavanshi was gracefully draped in a soft pastel saree, exuding warmth as she exchanged light banter with Rashmika.

Vivaan Suryavanshi, with his regal posture, discussed the dayโ€™s plans with Kailash Sherawat.

In the corner of the foyer, Avni and Ansh were engaged in their usual bickering.

โ€œAnsh, Iโ€™m not letting you wear that hideous shirt! Itโ€™s an insult to humanity!โ€ Avni scolded, holding up the brightly patterned shirt her twin brother had dared to pick out.
Ansh, unfazed, shrugged. โ€œAt least I donโ€™t take two hours to decide on anything, unlike you.โ€

Before Avni could retort, Anshita arrived with a bemused expression. โ€œWhatโ€™s the debate this time?โ€
Avni turned to her dramatically. โ€œAnsh is determined to ruin our family reputation with his fashion choices!โ€
Anshita smirked. โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Avni. Weโ€™ll just pretend heโ€™s not with us.โ€
โ€œHey!โ€ Ansh protested, but his pout only earned him more teasing.

Mishti sat beside Mayank in the car, quietly sketching the landscape as they drove. Behind them, Darsh and Ansh argued about cricket stats, their loud voices causing everyone else to groan.

Queen Anshita, Rashmika Ji, Neetu Ji and Avni sat in another car.
While Vivaan, Kailash Ji, Satya Ji, Haresh Ji, Narendra Ji sat in the lead car.

Anshita, however, found herself in an unexpected predicament.

Despite her efforts to avoid Viaan, fate seemed determined to throw them together. She ended up sharing the car with him.

Everyone already drove off, Viaan was initially not going to join but Mishti insisted afteral he was back after whole 5 years.

Viaan started the engine while Anshita proceeded to look out, her hands clenching and unclenching, sweat on her palms.

The silence between them was deafening, contrasting starkly with the noise from the other vehicles.

She decided to break the silence, as the journey was of an hour and Anshita being herself couldn't stop herself from speaking for so long.

โ€œAre you always this quiet, or is it just around me?โ€ Anshita asked, half-joking, trying to break the ice.
Viaan glanced at her, his expression unreadable. โ€œMaybe you talk enough for both of us.โ€

Anshita blinked, momentarily taken aback, before she caught the faintest hint of a smirk on his lips.
โ€œWell, at least youโ€™re not completely stone,โ€ she muttered, folding her arms.

She turned on the radio.

"เค•เคญเฅ€ เค•เคญเฅ€ เค–เคพเคฎเฅ‹เคถเฅ€ เคญเฅ€ เค‡เคถเฅเค•เคผ เค•เคพ เค‡เคœเคผเคนเคพเคฐ เคนเฅ‹เคคเฅ€ เคนเฅˆ (Sometimes silence is also A proposal of love) ". The sing- song Voice said in radio.

Anshita looked at Viaan, who again gained his usual expression....

Her thoughts were interruped by A song.

---

Almost 30 minutes passed.

Anshita was sketching when the car came to A hault. Resulting in the marker to leave A line on her artwork.

She looked frustrated.

"เค…เคฐเฅ‡"!!! The sound left her mouth, She found Viaan looking at her with a raised brow.

" Ahem". She cleared her throat before asking,
"What happened, why stopped the car"?

" The locator is not working". He said, her eyes widdened.

"B.. But we are in the middle of desert". Her Voice horrified, her expression paranoid. Comparing to the man infront of her with no expressions, no stress, nothing.
But still A calculative look.

" You are not Looking worried". She said unbeliveably.

His expression said the most,

'That's How you should deal these situations'.

He  opened the door.

Involuntary Anshita held his arm before he could step out. He looked at her, she left his arm but held his gaze.

" The sun is about to set". She said before Looking down.
"Are you afraid". His tone was serious but expression A little just A bit amused.
เค…เคฌ เคฌเคพเคค เค‡เคœเคผเฅเคœเคผเคค เคชเคฐ เค† เค—เคˆ เคนเฅˆเค‚ เค…เค‚เคถเคฟเคคเคพ (This is the matter of self respect Anshita), she thought before straightening up.
She TRIED to look fierce (but failed).

" I was afraid for you, it is dangerous". She said, Viaan shook his head.
"There are no animals, what is the matter". He said, before Looking out.

" I know B... But still, we are alone here, if something happen". Ok her words were not meant for this situation. Maybe Viaan misunderstood but didn't Show when he got out.

Anshita was too embarrassed to say anything.

'That's why they tell you to keep your mouth shut in Fear and Anger'. She thought and let out a sigh.

She looked  out at Viaan.
"Why don't you call someone".

Viaan looked insulted.

" You thought I haven't tried". His voice was challenging.
How can she think A meticulous man like him haven't thought of that. It was a challenge to his 160 IQ.

"No Network". He said Looking around to forget the insult, maybe unintentional but.

He was looking down when she her Voice came,
" What are you Looking at"?
"For signs". He answered.
" What signs"? She asked.
"Tires". He answered.
" There might be many, How will you know which were of our cars"? She asked.
"I will know, now if you will let me concerntrate". He said without Looking at her.

He heard giggling sound, Looking back he saw Anshita controlling her laugh.

" Are you on drugs"? He couldn't help but ask.

"No". She said controlling her laugh.
" What is amusing"? He asked he didn't know why but.
"You" She said before coming out of the jeep.
"Me"? He asked, this is the First Time someone called him... ๐˜ˆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ.

"I am distracting you, the one who can compete Einstein in concerntration". She said, her tone light and fun but she was not wrong.

Viaan thought about that, and really this girl actually distracted him for almost 20 minutes.
When he realised the time is running out and sun was already set in the horizon, he again looked down.

After a hard glance at the tire print he sat in the car. Anshita hurried in, afraid he will leave her there.

He started following the prints, Anshita was unsure.
"How do you know these are the prints of royal cars"? She asked.
" The tires have a Special symbol of solace". He answered without taking his eyes off path.
"You are intelligent". His head snapped at her direction, Looking at her with the exact expressions as if she told him he is a man.
" I am impressed". She said, not realising she is Looking like an idiot.
"My pleasure, now my life is worth it". He mocked, before continuing the rescue Mission.

" Heyyy you actually joked just now, woah not bad Mr. Perfect". Anshita said, admiring the man, her prince charming.

The journey went like that. They reached the resort, everyone were out, Looking tensed, Vivaan came towards Viaan.

"Why didn't pick the calls". He asked his son.
" No Network". He replied, Queen Anshita came and held his arm.
"I was afraid". She said, glancing at her son and Anshita.

" You should not have been, your son is quite intelligent". Anshita said and everyone laughed but Viaan.

"And don't leave her alone, she is a fool, especially with someone else, she will Kill them by questions". He said and everyone were in dillema whether to laugh or be surprised.

This was the longest Viaan has spoken since he came back.

---

The Sand Dunes Resort was a slice of heaven nestled amidst the golden expanse of the Thar Desert.

Tents adorned with traditional Rajasthani patterns were set up, and the scent of fresh daal baati wafted through the air.

As the group settled in, the younger members decided to explore the dunes. Anshita and Avni led the way, their laughter echoing as they kicked up sand. Ansh and Darsh followed close behind, trying to outpace each other.

Mishti stayed back, her limp making it difficult to keep up. Mayank noticed and slowed his pace, offering her his arm.

โ€œYou donโ€™t have to babysit me,โ€ Mishti said softly, her tone light but guarded.
โ€œWhoโ€™s babysitting? Iโ€™m just making sure you donโ€™t outrun me,โ€ Mayank replied with a teasing grin.

Her lips twitched into a reluctant smile. Despite everything, it was hard not to feel at ease around him.

---

As the moon spread the shimmering light, the group gathered around a makeshift bonfire. Snacks were passed around, and someone began strumming a guitar, filling the air with a soft melody.

Anshita sat on a dune, her knees drawn to her chest as she watched the flames flicker. Beside her, Avni nudged her.

โ€œPenny for your thoughts?โ€ Avni asked, resting her chin on her palm.

Anshita shrugged. โ€œJust thinking about how things never change. Thisโ€”usโ€”it feels like weโ€™re still kids, playing in the sand.โ€
Avni smiled wistfully. โ€œYeah, except now we have to deal with adulthood too.โ€

Their conversation was interrupted by Darsh and Ansh bursting into a mock wrestling match nearby, drawing laughter from everyone.

โ€œSome things really donโ€™t change,โ€ Anshita muttered, shaking her head.

Her gaze wandered across the group, landing briefly on Viaan, who was sitting apart from the rest, his face illuminated by the firelight. He seemed lost in thought, his usual guarded expression replaced by something softer.

For a moment, Anshita wondered what secrets lay behind those unreadable eyes.

---

As the night deepened, Vivaan suggested a game of Raja-Rani, a Rajasthani variation of charades that had been a favorite of the group since childhood. The teams were quickly divided, and the competitive spirit soared.

Anshita found herself paired with Viaan (who agreed to play when Mishti melodramatically made him realise How she is getting older day by day) , much to her dismay. โ€œGreat,โ€ she muttered under her breath.

To everyoneโ€™s surprise, the duo worked seamlessly, guessing even the most obscure prompts with ease. When Anshita dramatically mimicked a camel, Viaan immediately guessed โ€œdesert safari,โ€ earning them a roar of applause.

โ€œYouโ€™re not half bad,โ€ Anshita admitted grudgingly as the game ended.
"Thank you". Viaan said in a mocking tone.

It was only for him that he guessed the desert safari while she was acting of jungle safari.

---

As the group began to wind down, Mayank and Mishti sat apart, deep in conversation.

Anshita noticed the way Mayankโ€™s charm seemed to light up Mishtiโ€™s face, and for a fleeting moment, a pang of unease settled in her chest.

She couldnโ€™t quite place itโ€”was it concern for her brother or something else entirely?

Meanwhile, Viaan observed the scene from afar, his sharp eyes missing nothing. A flicker of something dark crossed his face before he turned away, his expression carefully neutral once more.

---

As the convoy returned home under the starry sky, Anshita leaned her head against the car window, her mind replaying the dayโ€™s events.
The laughter, the memories, the quiet momentsโ€”it all felt like a bittersweet echo of the past.

But beneath the warmth of familiarity, an undercurrent of tension simmeredโ€”one she couldnโ€™t quite identify but couldnโ€™t ignore.
