"Why did you bother Ms.Black, professor Snape could have told me" Mcgonnacal said in the christmas mood smiling slightly at the young witch standing in front of her with her arms folded back.

"It was no problem professor"Amelia said with a fake wide smile plastered on her face. Mentally cursing what a good liar sev is. She stood their quietely in front of the desk of mcgonnacal while the older witch signed her permission to stay at hogwarts.

"Here" Mcgonnacal said handing Amelia her slip with a small smile.

"Thankyou Professor" Amelia said bowing and returning the smile before leaving the red quarters.

" Ah now i have to ascend so many stairs" Amelia said to herself letting out a sigh while looking at the long moving staircase. As she was in 3rd year her dorm was on the third floor.

" If my eyes are not deceiving me Georgie its the same shorty that abandoned us for those snakes" Came the playful voice from behind her. And immediately Amelia's face twisted in a wide grin. She turned around to launch herself in both their arms.

" It was not me who was interested in Hagrid's times pranks" Amelia said pulling away grinning widely.

" Oh you dont know shorty we acquired a great deal of knowledge about our future career" George said fixing his hypothetical tie.

"Future career aye?" Amelia asked raising her eyebrow playfully.

" Yes we are gonna have a huge jokes shop in future we may also need some assistants and employees" Fred said with a cheeky grin.

" Oh then count me in" Amelia said winking at them.

"You are most welcome madame" they both said bowing mockingly.

" Btw i see you both are all set to leave huh?" Amelia asked seeing there trunks behind them reminding herself she has to stay in the collosal castle alone.

" Yes mum called earlier because Charlie and Bill are joining us this year" George said Amelia hummed in response.

"And if we are not wrong you are gonna stay all on your own with that grumpy uncle of yours" Fred said raising a mocking eyebrow gaining a playfully glare from Amelia on the nickname.

"Where else do i have to go" Amelia said shrugging her shoulders.

" You can come to our home and if that greasy- i mean if your uncle doesn't allows we will kidnap you just like we kidnapped Harry last year" Fred said ruffling Amelia's untied black hair.

" Really?" Amelia asked in awe both the twins nodded simultaneously.

"Fred and George do you want to come or not?" Came Ron's voice from across the common room, he stood their with his shabby trunk and their family owl Errol.

"Shut up Ronnikins, there are more important people to attend to" George said making ron scowl.

"Dont worry Ronald i am not going to steal your brothers" Amelia called mocking the boy.

" As much as we hate to depart from you shorty but mum will eat us alive if Ronniekins tells her we were the reason for being late. So bye we'll send you gifts" Fred said george nodded in agreement.

"Okay go before i start weeping" Amelia said pretending to wipe a tear.

"Goodbye group hug is necessary before departing" George said bringing the other two in a group hug, they held the hug for a while before pulling away smiling.

" I already miss you" Amelia said making a pouting face making the twins chuckle. They bid their goodbyes and parted their ways.

Sighing Amelia ascended the stairs to her dorm to see ginny and lavender already left and hermione's trunk was placed on her bed neatly and the bathroom door was locked. She must be in bathroom. Amelia thought to herself, now for whole 14 days she will have to live all alone in her dorm.
Being alone was one of the fears of Amelia. She heard the bathroom doorknob twitch and saw Hermione step out of it dressed in a muggle outfit, as much as Amelia hated to admit but she felt jealous of hermione for not having such good muggle clothes.

Hermione saw Amelia standing by the window and passed her a short glance before turning towards the mirror to fix herself. She started combing her hair in a pony tail but failed because of the bushy ness of her hair, Amelia noticed her struggle and bit her lip to prevent herself from intervening but she could not resist.

"Wait" Amelia said making Hermione stop and turn to look at her. Amelia without saying aword approached Hermione taking the comb from her hand and started combing. Hermione watched their reflection in the mirror and bit back a smile to see Amelia acting like a sister she never had. She also didn't stop her from combing her hair. After a few minutes of hardwork Amelia tied Hermione's hair gracefully in a styled high pony.

"Thanks, i like it" Hermione said smiling slightly looking in the mirror at their reflection gaining the same smile from Amelia.

"I see ready for christmas and all" Amelia said pursing her lips looking at Hermione's christmas. Hermione could see something was off about her but shrugged it off.

"Yes" Hermione said smiling awkwardly, gaining an awkward nod. Hermione went forward to check whether she had packed everything or not while Amelia sat on her bed pretending to read something in her diary. Hermione leviated her trunk from the bed to the door side, Amelia could see from the corner of her eye she stood still as if waiting for something.

"Amelia" Hermione said gaining Amelia's attention Amelia raised her head to meet the other witch's eyes.

"Merry christmas in advance" Hermione said with a small smile.

" Merry christmas to you too" Amelia replied softly with a smile. Smiling Hermione waved at her before leaving, Amelia just watched from where she left.

Sighing she layed on her bed taking out the picture of her mother from her diary and looking at it. Her mother dressed in the slytherin robes , her black hair untied, she was beautiful Amelia thought with a smile.

" I wish you were here mum, or atleast i could meet you once"

Amelia was on her way to her uncle's chambers passing through the now lifeless corridors of Hogwarts all the students left. This is all going to be same for the next 14 days. Suddenly Amelia felt some sound come from behind her , she turned around abruptly to see the most unexpected person.

" You!?" Amelia exclaimed wide eyed gaining a deadpanned yet flustered look.

" Got any problems" the boy said in a slight grumpy mood.

"No need to get all defensive Harold" Amelia said rolling her eyes before turning around continuing walking.

"Amelia wait" Harry said running towards her to catch up.

"What" Amelia asked walking.

"Where are you going" he asked.

" Dungeons" Amelia said shortly moving forward not wanting to face him .

"Btw you didn't go to your home?" Amelia asked looking at him from the corner of her eye.

"That's not my home, this is, I never go on Christmas holidays, staying here alone is far better than staying with them" Harry said bitterly. Something in his one told Amelia he didn't have a good relationship with them.

" so what are your plans here?" Amelia asked thanking universe she was not the only one alone over here. But wait, so now she will have to spend her mundane vacations with the chosen one, cause no one else is there in the castle except for the professors.

" not much i will go the wesley's on new year for two days and then will back Dumbledore accepted my request all thanks to him." Harry said nonchalantly. Amelia hummed.

"what about you, got any plans?" Harry asked moving along her.

"I don't even have a pla" Amelia replied emotionlessly causing Harry to chuckle slightly .

" So i guess its just two of us now for 14 days" Harry blurted out, Amelia turned to look at him weirdly. " I mean not in that way just we are the only students who didn't have a home to go to." Harry quickly corrected himself raising his hands in surrender.

" Be careful with your words Harold, if any other girl would have been on my place she would have punched right in the face." Amelia said as she let out a snort.

" But you didn't " Harry said suddenly cheekily. Amelia found herself speechless at this and Harry to mentally paceplamed oh his sudden change of behavior, although after what happened in the forest alot of things changed in him . They continued their walk with an awkward silence now.

" Okay um bye i want to meet Hagrid" Harry said turning to the enterance door and leaving. Amelia pursed her lips and continued walking to the dungeons. As usual she barged in the office of sev without knocking and this time to find him sitting on the floor brewing a potion. He acknowledged her presence with an unimpressed smirk forming on his face without looking up. Rolling her eyes Amelia went forward to place her permission slip in his diary and plop herself beside him.

"I have kept my permission slip in your diary" she said examining the ingredients, getting a hum in reply.

"Veritaserum huh?" She asked raising an eyebrow. Just by looking at the ingredients she could tell what potion is it, Sev taught her well. Again a hum in reply.

" Who for?" She asked clasping her hands under chin sitting cross legged.

"School stocks" Sev replied shortly.

"Is it a school or an interrogation department" Amelia said with a snort gaining 'the look' from her uncle.

" Fine, i am feeling so bored, assign me some interesting task" Amelia whined.

" Go clean your dorm" Sev said not turning to look the deadpanned expression forming on his niece's face.

"I came all the way from there, and please my dorm is already very much cleaner than your office" Amelia said making a disgusted face looking around her.

"Then go help Hagrid in taming those new creatures" he said uninterested in her whining.

"Sev how many rooms you have in your quarters" She asked with sudden charge ignoring his statement.

" 3, why?" He asked raising an eyebrow at her.

" Can i have one for this vacation" she asked excitedly.

" No, i dont want to be disturbed" he said dismissively.

"What, why, i will help you in something, i will arrange the room my self" she asked trying to convince him.

" No" he repeated again monotone.

"Fine, if you dont give me your company, i will ask Harry, I am sure he'll be elated with the idea of spending time with me" Amelia said intently knowing this will surely work.

" What potter, he didnt leave, oh he never does, fine you can stay here" Sev said as if he had a mini heart attack, Amelia bit her lip to prevent the grin forming on her face.

" No sev, i'll be fine if you dont want me to stay, i will spend time with Harry, after all we are class mates, and its just two of us" Amelia said playing more.

" I told you you will stay in my quarters and not with potter" Sev said growing irritated or shall we say protective, no one ereally lived to witness this side of Sev except for Amelia, he doesn't allows boys around his niece.

" Okay if you insist" Amelia said innocently, mentally hooting on her victory.

"Go check which one you want and arrange it for you" Sev said gesturing her to go upstairs in the quarters. Grinning she got up and ran ascending the stairs. There were two rooms opposite to each other, opening the first one she saw was really dark and gloomy she closed back the door making a disgusted face. The second room was almost same but much better, it had a good ceiling, taking it as a convincing enough point she started her work to arrange the room for herself.
